When I moved to LA in 1995 my first job was given to me by my still good friend @brianalexisguitar at #cinetelfilms on sunset. I was the script driver and projectionist. The first person I had to run dailies for was #DennisHopper! I couldn’t sync the film and the audio and he was not stoked to say the least! I was panicking! It all worked out of course. One day a group of hipsters came into the office.. I asked who they were and they said “we’re the art dept” they were doing Poison Ivy 2 staring @milano_alyssa I thought, I want to help you them. They offered for me to intern on weekends which I kind of moved some plants around the pool for a couple days. From there they offered me another movie called #Malevolence staring #soullegend #LouRawls as #MLK ! (I made 275$ a week!). From there I went on to do another film called #UncleSam It was a horror movie so we shot a lot of nights. Directed by #BillLustig edited by #bobmurawski .. When I showed up to set, Being a mod girl soul girl when I saw #IsaacHayes I was thrilled. Two films with soul legends! Lucky me. Isaac told stories of how he and his band wouldn’t walk on stage until the promoter gave them a suitcase of cash 💰 in advance. Back in the day things were not as corporate so I’m sure for good reason!
