Im just going to talk about the ones i'm closest to, but if you know about these fires, feel free to add in the reblogs!
Chile
In Chile there's (up to Feb 5) 160 wild fires, of which 40 are still trying to be controlled by authorities. The president, Gabriel Boric, has declared State of Emergency in the whole country, and theres a Red Alert Code in most part of the country.
Isla de Chiloé, Southern Chile (900 km away from Santiago de Chile)
This is a (recently controlled) fire that lasted a week, but many neighborhoods were burnt to the ground.
The whole South is in red alert for constant sudden fires that spread quickly due to the lack of rain and the elevated temperatues in the zone. Just today, two fires had to be controlled in the main land next to this island, and more are being reported in the Los Lagos region. This is added to the "controlled" intentional fires that farmers make to clean their fields of old crops along the Central-South parts of the country, mostly surrunding the main route, Ruta 5, that connects the whole country, thus making it hard to see and breathe because of the smoke. (flashnews, most of them get out of control quickly.)
Valparaiso/Viña del Mar, Central Chile (100 km away from Santiago de Chile)
A fire that started on Friday 2nd and grew exponentially because of the wind and the dry, hot climate. More than 100 people are dead, with 70 unrecognized bodies and other 400 that have dissapeared. At least 30000 people that have lost everything to the fire.
There's massive evacuations from this and the neighboring city, Viña Del Mar.
This is said to be the second most deadly fire in the century, surpased by Australia in 2009.
45000+ hectares that include land and neighborhoods have been burnt down.

Argentina
Parque Los Alerces (Esquel), Chubut
The fire strarted on the 25th January, and the climate has made it hard to contain. 3000 hectares of native forest have been burnt to teh ground. It is now growing in the direction of the nearest city, Esquel. Theres been evacuations between yesterday and today (4 and 5th Febuary)
Parque Nahuel Huapi (Bariloche), Río Negro
The reason why im writing this. The city woke up today covered in smoke after a wildfire developed yesterday during the night. The reason? A fireplace that was not turned off in a place where people cannot disembark and can only be reached via boats.
As of now, there's not much information about the fire but hopefully the firefighters will be able to contain it before it reaches Tronador Mountain, where an ancient glaciar is.
...which leads me to the other point i wanted to talk about.
Firefighters
They volunteer to do this job.
In Argentina and Chile, firefighting is not rewarded with a salary, and most of the times they dont even have full firehouses to stay in. These people are at their houses, ready to jump into action and run to the station the second the alarm goes off.
They are neighbors, people that risk their lives and run into danger willingly, just because they want to help the community.
I felt the need to give a shout-out to these people and say:
Don't be a fucking dick, don't start fires in the woods unless it's an approved place, and if you do, TURN IT OFF.
Pour abundant water on it, and do not stop when you don't see any more flames.
Keep pouring water until the ashes don't burn/feel like room temperature in your hand if you put it 10 cm away from it, and even then, pour some more just to be sure.
No heat and no smoke mean a safely extinguished fire.
Save lives and forests.

First ‘Game of Thrones’, then 'Narcos’ and now glory. We spoke with the Chilean actor about succeeding at 40, his 'little brother’ Miguel Ángel Silvestre, and his non-existent training routine.
The actor has arrived at the London studio hosting this shooting from Seattle, where he has just shot an indie film, and as soon as the interview is over he will fly to Los Angeles on his way to San Diego Comic-Con. An intense schedule for an actor who, until just four years ago, considered that appearing in a chapter of 'Nikita’ or 'Law and Order’ was like a winning lottery ticket.
Seasoned in theater and television, Pascal had developed “the professional ability to survive. I have been going to castings since I was 20 years old, and I had begun to assume that maybe my dream was not viable and to consider that making a living from acting, even anonymously, could also be considered a success. Also, in New York I was sheltered by my sister and my friends, whom I could always count on when I ran out of money. But then 'Game of Thrones’ came along and everything changed for me.”
His brief appearance in Westeros as Prince Oberyn finally caused him to leave the ranks of the eternal aspiring stars. His popularity has only strengthened with 'Narcos’, of which the third season premieres on September 1 on Netflix. Without Escobar, and without Murphy, the plot now centers on the Cali cartel: “It’s a different empire that has more money, more power, more control and more discipline, so it will be much more difficult for my character to dismantle it, because they have their hands in everyone’s pockets."
The Spanish Miguel Ángel Silvestre, Javier Cámara and Tristán Ulloa have joined the cast, and to say that they have got on well with Pascal would be an understatement. “Miguel Ángel in particular is like my little brother. We met in the United States a long time ago and became instant friends."
However, getting famous around 40 also has its advantages, for example, you think more about squandering your salary on sport-cars and yachts. “I can’t afford yachts. Yes, I have bought a car, but it’s a Mini Cooper, so it’s not terribly extravagant. I’m already very used to my habits, and I think that’s the luxury; experiencing a certain level of exposure when you’re older, you’ve already become the person you are and there are certain things that it’s too late to change. A nice new thing about not being under financial pressure is that I can do things for the people I care about. I know it makes me sound noble, but what I like most in the world is being in a position to help someone."
In these troubled times, there are many people that Pascal believes must be helped. When he was a few months old, his family left Santiago in Chile to escape the Pinochet regime. They received asylum in Denmark and later moved to the US, where Pedro and his three siblings grew up as gringos, first in Texas and later in California.
Today, the political climate in his adopted country literally robs him of any dreams. “We are living in a terrifying time. I have no idea what the future holds, I just know that at every opportunity I will stand up for what I think is right. And that includes the fucking fabulous diversity in North America."
Every successful actor knows which role changed their lives, and Pedro Pascal’s was the scene stealer of the fourth season of 'Game of Thrones’. His bloody death by the hands of The Mountain has been burned into our memory, for sure. (Trivia: the actor who plays the huge Lannister bully had been chosen as the third strongest man in the world in a championship shortly before filming that fight.) Several actors on the series have admitted that they read scripts with apprehension, but Pascal knew from the first audition that Oberyn Martell would die in that season.
What he didn’t know was how - he learned that his brains would end up on the ground almost in passing. "I was talking to the showrunners and in a very casual way they told me, 'we'll have to send you to London to do a cast of your head.’ And I was like 'and why my head?’ And they said 'because we're going to have to gouge out your eyes and smash your skull in...' And I said, 'so, this is how I die? You sick bastards!" He remembers between laughter.
Another experience that he will never forget was the filming in 2014 of the video clip 'Fire Meets Gasoline’, by Sia, in which he starred alongside Heidi Klum, including a bed scene. "What was it like? It was good. It was really good (laughs). To put it mildly, she has been a popular figure in my life over the years, so just seeing me in my underwear and running around with her was very surreal."
As if all of the above were not enough, very soon Pedro Pascal will also look at us from the bus stops in the new Solo Loewe fragrance campaign, a collaboration that has only rekindled his attachment to Spain. “I have a tremendously romantic relationship with Spain. My grandfather’s family was Basque, my grandmother was born in Majorca, and I studied there as a young man one summer and immediately felt at home. So having the opportunity to collaborate with such a creative and stylish Spanish team has been really special. I have to figure it out how to move there once and for all."
Perhaps a shoot will facilitate the transfer. Pascal is a great admirer of Spanish cinema, but with Almodóvar’s he has a personal connection. “My parents took me to see 'Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown’ at the only art-house cinema in Orange County, and I no longer stopped going. I lost my mother 17 years ago, and the way in which she identified with Almodóvar’s characters means that his cinema has always played a very emotional role in my life."
At 42 years old, another of his pending subjects is to find a trainer who will help him. "Discipline with sport has always been very difficult for me. You know what pisses me off? The asshole of Miguel Ángel Silvestre, who is physically like a superhero. Sometimes I would kill him, but I also want him to teach me to follow a routine."
Are you asking Silvestre from here to become your personal trainer?
"Exactly. What’s more, I’m going to call him as soon as we finish talking."

‼️Confirman la muerte del expresidente Sebastián Piñera en un accidente aéreo en el Lago Ranco, en la región de Los Ríos, sur de Chile. El hecho se habría producido cerca de las 15:00 horas, cuando la aeronave (helicóptero) perdió altura y cayó a las aguas del lago, en medio de un clima de lluvia.
Junto a Piñera, quien piloteaba el helicóptero, viajaban su hermana, su cuñado y un nieto, quienes lograron salvarse al evacuar la nave. Piñera no habría podido desligarse del cinturón de seguridad y el peso del aparato lo habría sumergido a unos 40 metros de profundidad, de donde fue rescatado por buzos especializados.
Durante el gobierno de Sebastián Piñera, se cometieron graves violaciones a los derechos humanos por parte de las policías y las fuerzas armadas, de las que era responsable. La mayoría de esas violaciones, están en la más completa impunidad.

El 24 de abril se celebra el Día Internacional del Animal de Laboratorio, una fecha que cuenta con el apoyo de organizaciones protectoras de animales y que tiene lugar desde el año 1979.
Esta iniciativa se llevó a cabo por parte de la Asociación Internacional Contra los Experimentos Dolorosos en los Animales (IAAPEA).

Este día implica una profunda reflexión acerca de las torturas a las que han sido sometidos los animales de laboratorio causándoles un daño físico y psíquico, privándolos de su derecho a la vida y la libertad.
La Asociación Internacional Contra los Experimentos Dolorosos en los Animales (IAAPEA) es una organización fundada en el año 1969, que posee un estatus consultivo ante las Naciones Unidas. Dicha Asociación está en contra de los experimentos, vivisección, pruebas y procedimientos realizados en animales de laboratorio.
Entre sus principales funciones se destaca la financiación de la investigación médica sin experimentos con animales sobre el cáncer, las enfermedades cardíacas, la diabetes y otras enfermedades.
Lo que no sabías sobre la experimentación animal
Si bien es cierto que los avances en las investigaciones científicas han sido exitosos en la lucha continua contra enfermedades, descubrimiento de vacunas, así como otros avances y utilidades en la industria cosmética, es posible que detrás de ello se hayan utilizado animales en fase de experimentación.
Conoce algunos aspectos sobre la experimentación animal:
Se ha determinado que la experimentación con animales sigue siendo legal en el 80% de los países del mundo, utilizando miles de animales como conejos, conejillos de indias y ratones en la prueba de productos de belleza "libres de crueldad animal".
Los animales más utilizados en experimentos de diversa índole con animales son ratones, peces, ratas, aves de corral, conejos y otras especies (perros, gatos, primates).
La mayoría de los animales proviene de granjas destinadas a criar animales a utilizar con fines de experimentación.
Actualmente solo 40 países en el mundo han prohibido las prácticas experimentales con animales.
Colombia fue el primer país latinoamericano que implementó una ley contra el testeo de animales.
¿Conoces la campaña "Save Ralph"?
En relación al tema sobre la experimentación con animales de laboratorio no podemos dejar de mencionar una campaña viral sobre la crueldad animal, publicada recientemente en las redes sociales que forma parte de una campaña para prohibir las pruebas en animales para cosméticos.
Es un corto animado dirigido por Spencer Susser y producido por Humane Society International, una organización orientada hacia la promoción de pruebas e investigaciones sin animales, rescate de animales en peligro de extinción y reducción de los impactos negativos de la agricultura en la vida animal. Contó con la colaboración de cineastas y estrellas del cine de Hollywood.
Se trata de un conejito que tiene por nombre Ralph, cuyo trabajo es asegurarse que todos los productos cosméticos usados por los seres humanos sean seguros, aún si eso significa atentar contra su propia vida. Está ciego de un ojo, solo puede escuchar un timbre en su oído derecho y su cuerpo está cubierto por quemaduras químicas, que al moverse resulta muy doloroso.
La finalidad de este corto animado es poner fin a las pruebas cosméticas con animales en todo el mundo, concienciando y generando empatía en las personas sobre esta temática tan sensible.
La campaña se realizó con prioridad en 16 países que realizan pruebas con animales (Brasil, Canadá, Chile, México, Sudáfrica y diez países del sudeste asiático).

¿Cómo apoyar la celebración de este día?
Puedes apoyar simbólicamente la celebración de este día y todos los días, posteando información en las redes sociales acerca del maltrato animal a que son sometidos en procesos de experimentación con animales.
Evita utilizar productos de belleza, en los cuales hayan utilizado animales para probar los productos. Puedes profundizar al respecto, ubicando información sobre el tema en internet.
También puedes participar en la campaña "Sign the pledge to Be Cruelty-Free", promovida por la organización Humane Society International, firmando la petición sobre el fin de las pruebas de productos cosméticos en animales.

carnes en su jugo
Las carnes en su jugo son un delicioso invento y esta es su historia. Doña Carmen era una mujer que realizaba carne para su familia en su fogón al aire libre originalmente solo tenía carne, frijoles y cilantro aunque ahora las receta a cambiado mucho sigue siendo preparada con ese gran amor con el que la preparaba doña Carmen hace tantos años.
ingredientes:
1 kilo de carne de res en cubos
500 gramos de frijoles de la olla
4 tiras de tocino, cortadas en cubos
1 cebolla grande, picada
2 dientes de ajo, picados finamente
4 chiles serranos, sin semillas y picados finamente
1 taza de cilantro fresco, picado
1 taza de jugo de limón
1 taza de agua
Aceite de oliva
Sal y pimienta al gusto.
Modo de preparacion:
En una olla grande, calienta un poco de aceite de oliva a fuego medio-alto. Agrega la cebolla y cocina hasta que esté transparente.
Agrega el ajo y los chiles serranos y cocina durante 1-2 minutos más.
Agrega la carne en cubos y cocina hasta que esté dorada por todos lados.
Agrega los frijoles, el tocino y el agua. Reduce el fuego a medio-bajo y deja cocinar durante 30-40 minutos.
Agrega el cilantro y el jugo de limón y cocina durante 5-10 minutos más.
Sazonar con sal y pimienta al gusto.
Sirve caliente con tortillas y salsa de tomate
