"Winter was the only season we could be together"

As the small amount of sunlight touched my skin, my feet automatically walked outside our house, and what my eyes saw was a beautiful setting full of snow combined with a bitter cold temperature. I am still mesmerized by the beauty and the vibe that winter gives. It’s like I’m still on the other side of the world, full of whites and colds. But anyway, let’s go back to why I hurriedly went outside the house. The reason behind it is that I’m very excited because winter is the only season that me and my friend can see each other and spend time together, since he visits his grandparents every winter. And I have realized something recently too. I have noticed that I can only see his grandparents outside in every winter season only. But it doesn’t matter anyway.  As for now, I’m waiting for my friend, whom you can call Jay, outside his grandparents’ house. This is our conversation after playing outside.

Me: Jay, what’s taking you so long? The other kids are waiting for us outside. Please

hurry up.

Jay: I’m coming. By the way, may I ask how cold it is right now?

Me: I’m not smart enough to estimate it, duh. Let’s just search it up on my phone.

Jay: So, you want to meet me just to mock me, huh. Kidding.

Me: Lol. Anyway, Siri says it's around 32 degrees Fahrenheit right now.

Jay: Great, I’m safe. Let’s go.

Me: Huh?

Jay: Hotdog.

The Next Day

I felt something weird as soon as I woke up. It was very cold yesterday, but today seems hot. I opened the TV and heard on the news that the planet's movement around the sun was speeding up three times faster than before. But the most shocking news was that Jay, and his grandparents were discovered strange and barely breathing. I ran as fast as I could after hearing it. And the truth slaps me when I see Jay’s situation. A tear escaped from my eyes after knowing that my friend for a long time was not like us. And it explains why he only visits me in the winter. It answered my question about why he asks me every time we go outside what the temperature is, because you know why? Jay is a snowball. And what’s more shocking is that he has a brother named Olaf!
