Caleb, Sylus, and the Explosion™️

Ok so here's some theories I have about all this and some of these are whack but whatever this is where my brain goes.

Caleb is actually Sylus and is actually good, and had to fake his death. Grandma was a casualty. Morally grey? Had to make it believable. Maybe has a grudge against his grandma for reasons yet unknown? We know from the main story that Dr. Noah said she may have done things she regrets. Maybe Caleb discovered some and hasn't forgiven her. Knew MC would be safe outside.

Caleb is actually Sylus but is bad, and had to fake his death to sever his ties with MC and possibly have leverage to manipulate her later on. The aethercore was not a factor. Or was, but he's in it for some kind of long game and knows an attack on her life directly will set off a chain of events.

Caleb is good and not Sylus but definitely was targeted by Onychinus specifically. MC was not the target. And it may be because of whatever secrets he has working as a pilot? There may be some kind of other underground good guys we don't know about.

Caleb works with/for Onychinus or whoever is responsible for the explosion, but because his identity was hidden, may have been caught in some crossfire. He was not in on the plan. MC was the target in the explosion, not Caleb.

Caleb may not be Sylus but definitely works with Onychinus, and was in on the plan. So the explosion may have been a way of targeting MC's aethercore. But he cares about her too much and got her out just in time to secretly/selfishly foil the plan.

Caleb is just Some Guy™️ and gets resurrected somehow, who knows. (least likely). And becomes significant afterwards.

Caleb is just Some Guy™️ but Sylus needed a body and will take on Caleb's likeness to get close to MC in the future. But real Caleb needed to be dead for him to do so.

Caleb is Sylus and evil but the explosion came from the Backtrackers who figured out his identity and figured two random civilians were ok casualties, especially if they know MC has a core and can regenerate, so it's really just one casualty. Two birds, one stone.

The funniest one: Caleb is Sylus and evil but didn't know about the planned attack so somebody's gettin' fired that day.

me trying to hold all my theories together rn:

Ahh ok in all honesty though, I'm actually less on board with the CEO!Caleb theory and I know this kinda puts my Caleb!Sylus theory in the water a little bit but hear me out

In order for Caleb to both be Sylus, and the CEO, and a pilot, without the entirety of his family knowing...? Like if he was a shrewd business man and had the ability to flex and care for his family, maybe get his grandma the care she needed, idk, why wouldn't he? Why the secrecy?

To me the secret Sylus theory works in a sense of: no one has assumptions of Sylus, his identity is only what he's made it, and he doesn't need to be a rich business man to do it, but he needs to know the right people

Do i think the CEO of Ever is evil? Probably. I mean, taking a look at Zucker, Musk, Bezos, etc etc, it's likely the same.

So I think they're likely working together, rather than secretly the same person.

That's my take.
