My First Blog To You!

Hello, my name is Mary and I live on a tiny “homestead”  in the states. Unlike what many folks believe we have electricity to use via solar, and cell phone service thanks to not having wires. The life is very peaceful but also requires a lot of work Most believe that all we do is work but we have plenty of time for play, after all we're homesteaders, not full on workers! We spend our days doing various activities some we consider interesting, while others are mind fumblingly difficult. During this blog I hope to take you on that journey with me.

Living where you don't have neighbors around you can be a glorious adventure, with zero complaints. That is one of the biggest benefits to living away from it all, no one bothers you. This type of lifestyle depends strongly on you having “Free time” to accomplish goals you need in your daily life. This could be writing blog entries, preparing food or meals, troubleshooting issues with your equipment etc. each day brings something new. Many times I'll have plans to do something and the next thing I know something broke and I must find a way to fix it.

Troubleshooting equipment is what I do with a lot of mine time, owning tractors, and attachments for the tractor is useful. When you live where no one else does having lots of equipment is important. You can't find help by going next door like you can elsewhere. So we use an assortment of tractors, and other pieces of equipment to help us get around. Without this we would need to work our garden and livestock by hand, a task that most modern folks including myself don't want to do.

Let's not get too deep into that though, we have many stories to fulfill you with. Each day brings a new story to tell, however rather or not it's interesting remains to be seen, it could very well be boring or exciting. That's the cool part of living on a homestead, you never know what's going to happen the next day!
