it's like, is the cinemasins checkbox-ticking philosophy of movies ultimately rooted in annoying pedantry somewhere between totally out of touch and actively at odds with approaching the medium of filmmaking as any kind of actual art form? yes. but is it nonetheless fun to hit play on one of his stupid little videos for a dumbass fucking movie you really, really hate when you have a bunch of laundry to put away? i mean, i'm only human

#idk i feel very Play Stupid Games Win Stupid Prizes about the whole thing #like i hit play on an MCU compilation playlist of his stuff #and fully half of the complaints at least for iron man 3 are things that are actually awesome about the film such as 'tony is a dick to kids #(the other half are jokes or logic nitpicking or continuity errors)#bc this is not a way of viewing film that is productive for movies that are even a little bit about something #like why does tony feel the need to make a suit that comes to him in pieces when he already has 40 suits he can summon at will?#well for the same reason he made those other 40 suits which is that he is having a nervous breakdown. that's like really not ambiguous IMO.#but for something like the fucking avengers movies it's like: no yeah every single thing you complain about is in fact Stupid As Hell #like joss whedon is out here making movies on the level of cinemasins guy. and on that level. he's failing miserably.#so he deserves it because nothing annoying about his movies can be justified with Actually It's Art. bc like. it's not #or Actually It's Bc The Characters Are Acting Illogically As A Result Of Their Human Emotions bc like. joss whedon doesn't understand those #also i hate him and like it when people say he sucks and is stupid
