hello friends!

you can call me bee! i’m an artist, aspiring animator, and massive fangirl! i’m pretty new to tumblr, so i’m still figuring out how things work, but i love making new friends, so feel free to leave a message!

i have Very Many interests and fandoms—way too many to remember, let alone list. as of writing this my current hyperfixations are the owl house, genshin, and deltarune, but they’re constantly changing. i love the fantasy genre, animated content, and mascot horror games (although i’ve never actually played one), and some of my more specific interests are the dragon prince, d&d, omori, welcome home, fnaf, mlp, pokemon, and pretty much anything disney!

i love to draw! i mainly draw digitally using procreate, and my work is a mixture of fanart and oc art. i have a lot of ocs—i think my last count was somewhere around 120? they’re all my children and I love them very much, but not all of them have actual stories. i’ll do my best to introduce each of them the first time I post them! maybe i’ll make a tag specifically for introductions?

i have adhd and often struggle to discern tones/intentions over text, so please use tone indicators whenever possible! i love good-natured teasing and sarcasm—it’s just difficult for me to pick up on.

For the ask game, MLP?

My favorite female character: Now this is a really hard one, just given how many female characters there are in MLP, but I guess maybe Rainbow Dash? She has a lot of really good episodes and I've actually related to her and her struggles quite a lot in the past even though I'm not an athlete of any kind. It's close though.

My favorite male character: The pickings are a little slimmer here lol. I kinda have to pick Spike tbh, just on account of how much more screentime he gets over every other male character and I do really like him. Honorable mentions are Thorax, Gallus, and Sandbar who I all love, but show up pretty late in.

My favorite season: Another really hard one, and I'd need to rewatch the whole thing to be sure, but just on memory alone I might have to say season 9. I'm a big fan of the student six, so seasons 8 and 9 have a leg up, and I think season 9 really closed everything out super strong. Everyone really gave it everything they had, knowing this was it.

My favorite episode: Honestly I don't know if I can pick just one, the whole series means so much to me. Tanks for the Memories is a really strong episode, as is like the entire season 9 finale. I also have serious nostalgia for like half the episodes in seasons 1-3. I would also kill for more student six episodes, so they're all pretty high up on the list. Honestly I could definitely go on but naming just 1 is impossible, I'm bisexual and have adhd, deciding on 1 thing is unreasonable.

My favorite cast member: I don't really follow the cast ngl. I know Apple Bloom's va did a collab with a fan musician on a song I really like, and one of the actresses was feeding appledash nation after the finale, so I like them (even though appledash isn't actually a top tier ship for me, I'm just happy about what happened). And whatshisname that does the music always does a good job, though that isn't really the cast.

My favorite ship: Twidash hands down. I actually almost got into twidash before I got into mlp lol, I saw some cute fanart and it was one of the things that made me actually start watching the show. That being said I'm like the biggest multishipper when it comes to this show, so I can vibe with almost any ship. Other prominent ones are rarijack (Look Before You Sleep started this lol), Starlight Glimmer/Trixie (dunno the ship name off the top of my head) and smolcellus (which let's be real is just twidash 2.0).

A character I'd die defending: I don't know who really needs it tbh. Most of the main characters I guess? The student six too? Oh can't forget the CMC too.

A character I just can't sympathize with: I was gonna say Zephry Breeze, and that's true for part of his character, but I can relate to other parts I guess. I haven't read the comics yet so I guess Sombra? I know he gets more characterization there, but just going off the show he's barely a character tbh, just a pure force of domination more or less.

A character I grew to love: Trixie I guess? She got way more attention in later seasons than I expected and she becomes a real joy to watch, whereas before I was more "meh" on her.

My anti otp: Like I said I'm the queen of MLP multishippers, so I'm down for almost any ship that isn't like, morally repugnant. Honestly I can't think of any ships I heavily oppose besides like, kids with adults. I suppose there are certain ways I like and don't like certain ships, but I don't typically hate the ship itself. Oh, except Rainbow Dash with Zephyr Breeze, get that shit the Hell out of here (granted I don't think that's particularly popular, same with any other hypotheticals I can think of).

Halloween Fanfiction recommend

Time for another fanfiction recs list again. And what better way to do one about horror/dark fanfiction for the season. After looking through my favorite and fanfiction that scares me so much that I actually couldn't finish because I was so scared. Without any father delay let's get started. The Seven Hunters by The-Amazing-Rhombus I talk about this fanfiction before and you saw me draw fanart of it so I keep this short. Anyhow this focus on the Gang of Seven from the Land Before time tv show. Anyhow the story kicks when The Stone of Cold Fire (meteor) land in the Great Valley. They all decide to make a wish on the Stone of Cold Fire to have the power to defect Red Claw who was planning to destroy the Valley. At first, nothing happens but when they had a very weird dream they wake up to find out they're all fastbiter(raptors). As you can see this is where the horror show in because the characters are forced into a role of meat eaters and killers, that they have killed off some of their old kind in order to survive. And the fact that they are kids and there's a war going on makes this fanfic shine in the horror way. But Hard Reset manages to make it work so well, in the actionly horror light. This fanfiction stars Twilight in another changeling attack while she was in Canterlot. But she fails and dies in the process. Only to wake up before the changeling attack. As you can see this is time loop fanfic but unlike a lot of them this deal PTSD and suicidal thoughts. Really plays these themes really well.  Check it out if you have time. Link: https://www.fimfiction.net/story/67362/hard-reset Freddy Fazbearland by Bat13SJx This is an Au of the Five Nights at Freddy's games where instead of taking place in a restaurant the setting is an amusement park. And instead of night guards as the main characters, is a bunch of kids. Now you can see the horror here. As a kid alone with a bunch of killing robots in an amusement park? Horrible. And the writing really shows the fear because as running away in fear, you feel every emotion these kids are going through. And the fact that one of the kids have a history of the park is playing out really well. The ending was bad and the grammar and spelling are not the best. But it's a good read. Check it out if you dare. Yep, this is a story about fearing the unknown kind of horror as Pinkie wake up one day with these weird lumps on her back. From there, things take a turn for the worse but no one is written out of character. Plus you always on the edge of your sent on where this is all going. There are clues so you do need to pay attention to what the characters are saying. Check it out and think for yourself. Link: https://www.fimfiction.net/story/142509/truth-be-told Rainbow Factory by AuroraDawn Ok in case someone doesn't know about Rainbow Factory here's the short version. Here Scottaloo takes the flight exam with her classmates, where you because of a full member of the flock and becomes a true pegasus. If you fail this test then you are kicked out of the flack and have to move out of Equestria. Scootaloo and her friend Orion look like they're going to make it until a pegasus name Aurora fail her flight exam and everything went downhill. Now there are problems with this fanfic and I won't talk about them until I do a review on this fanfic. But it does one thing right and it's horror and fear of being hurt by a loved one. So that's a bouse. And it was one of the first grimdark stories that inspired grimdark we know and love today in the mlp fandom. So I say give a read and think for yourself. Mabel is back in Gravity Falls and Dipper is in college. Bill is also back and he has a new plan as well as an interesting in Mabel. This took the whole if a villain loves you then hates kind of fear. No character is written out of character and it used the mature to its advance.  Nothing graphic but it's disturbing to say the less. Check it out for yourselves. At less the first part. What makes different than all the other Saw-like fanfiction is that we see the mental breakdown of our main characters and the victims. It's a good read if can stomach it. What more can be said? Ok, there is a lot more than be said. Like the fact blends both fandoms just right, that it doesn't feel too out of place. Or that fact the characters in this fanfic were used well and reactions to the horror of Silent Hill is really good. That there is a sequel that better and has more horror. Murky the main character is not strong and a lot of times he finds himself in trouble but unlike lots of characters like this Murky does do stuff and helps out in his own way. The side characters and villains are really good and thought out characters. This story is a very long on and leaves off on really good cliffhangers. But I think you would find it very enjoyable. Want a fanfic about your dinosaur from the Land Before to go into a war with body horror and mental breakdown? Well, that's the Out of the Shadows fanfic and it gives us with good horrors and feels. It needs that mature rated but unlike other fanfics that just used it because of gore, or they used curse words, or there are sexy bits in there. It uses because of the subject matter and how characters would react in real life. Well as graphics violence. If it sounds good to you then give it a read. I've been accumulating a lot of thoughts on the Bionicle fandom, fan works, and the nature of creative projects as a whole. I was hesitant to post them because I feared that I would be seen as rude or abrasive, but honestly at this point I do not give a shit. There is a dearth of creativity in media right now. Movies, TV shows, video games, comic books, and animation are all in a slump. There are very few original stories coming out, and a glut of remakes, sequels, adaptations, and reboots. No one wants to take risks anymore, it has to be a guaranteed money maker. Executives and producers greenlight shitty remakes of classic movies shows and games, hoping that an audience will flock to it based on the name alone. Childhood nostalgia has been appropriated by the cynical marketing machine. The reboot of Bionicle is also part of this trend. Lego gave it a bare-bones marketing budget, hoping that nostalgic fans would promote the line for them. Just give people their member berries, and you won't have to actually try to make anything new. Nostalgia is not inherently bad. Everybody has fond memories of something they used to like when they were younger, and it can be nice to occasionally look back on those things. However, if you rely on nostalgia too much you start living in the past, thinking that the best days are behind you and that nothing fun or exciting could ever come out now. All fandoms are by nature derivative, since they are a group of people creating art, writing, and other media based on an already existing IP created by someone else. And a lot of them are based in nostalgia to a degree. But the problem with the Bionicle fandom is that member berries is all we are. There is no new content, and in fact most Bionicle fans don't actually want new content; they just want to relive their childhoods, writing and drawing the same things over and over again, trying to evoke a time where we weren't so world weary and cynical. Hence why the only Bionicle fanart that gets popular outside of our tiny circle is the original characters from Mata Nui. When the reboot came along, a lot of us were really hyped that Bionicle would finally get some new life breathed into it; but ultimately it delivered nothing of substance. And now that it's been canceled, and Bionicle won't come back for a long time if ever, the fandom has degraded into shitposting, Facebook tier memes, and nostalgiafagging/member berries. The MLP fandom gets a lot of shit for being autistic and or creepy, but they are a productive group. They make loads of fanart, fanfic, fan music, plushies, cosplay, game mods and more. MLP fans have taken the world and characters of the show and gone in so many different directions. They don't need Hasbro to make official content, because the fandom is an entire universe of its own. If friendship is magic got canceled, the fandom would have still have enough original content to sustain itself for quite a while. And that's what I wanted to do with Afterman. Something inspired by Bionicle, but also its own thing. Something that people with tons of ideas for what Bionicle could have been could bring their fanfics to life. Something positive and constructive to work towards, rather then just lamenting that Bionicle is over and holding our breath for a second reboot that will never come. I am very frustrated that not a lot of people seem to understand this fairly simple concept. I know life can get in the way. People have jobs and school, I get that. But honestly, if you take a look at this Tumblr, send me a message saying "I don't think this project is going to work out, I won't bother contributing" and then make a whole bunch of posts talking about how "man Bionicle was so great and it sucks that it's over, if only there was a way to bring it back somehow" you're part of the problem. Those people talk the talk, but they can't walk the walk. If you have enough time to shitpost on Tumblr, you have enough time to contribute. Do I know what I'm doing? No. Am I a talented artist and writer? No. But I saw how so many things were stagnant, and thought "something needs to be done about this, we can't fade away into nothing. We need something constructive to overcome apathy." There are times where you see that something needs to be done. But no one else is going to do it, so it's up to you, regardless of whether you're actually qualified. I never wanted to be a leader, I don't like bossing people around. But nobody else volunteered. If you think that you would be a better leader, by all means let me know and I can give ownership of the blog to you. People who disregard this project because of a few surface details they don't like really piss me off, because the entire reason I made this in the first place was so that multiple people could contribute. Don't like the title Afterman, or the names of the characters and places? Suggest some new ones. Don't like the plot outline that I have so far? Write up your own version of what should happen. Don't like the art style or character designs? Submit some sketches of how you think the characters should look. You get the idea. Of course, I can't make anyone do anything. But don't refuse to help this project in any way and then complain that Bionicle is dead, wasting time on what might've been but isn't and will never be. Take initiative and stop waiting for someone else to do it.
