Anders Zorn in Mora (No. 1)
Anders Leonard Zorn (18 February 1860 – 22 August 1920) was one of Sweden's foremost artists. He obtained international success as a painter, sculptor, and etcher.  Among Zorn's portrait subjects were King Oscar II of Sweden, and three American Presidents, Grover Cleveland, William H. Taft, and Theodore Roosevelt. At the end of his life, he established the Swedish literary Bellman Prize in 1920.
Zorn was born and raised on his grandparents' farm in Yvraden, a hamlet near the village of Utmeland in the parish of Mora, Dalarna. He studied until the age of twelve in the school at Mora Strand before progressing in the autumn of 1872 to a secondary grammar school in Enköping.
From 1875 to 1880 Zorn studied at the Royal Swedish Academy of Arts in Stockholm, where he amazed his teachers with his talent. Members of Stockholm society approached him with commissions. This was how Zorn met Emma Lamm, early in 1881, whose background was different from Zorn's. Coming from a wealthy Jewish merchant family, she was interested in art and culture and, after a long engagement, they were married in a civil ceremony in October 1885.
Zorn traveled extensively to London, Paris, the Balkans, Spain, Italy and the United States, becoming an international success as one of the most acclaimed painters of his era. It was primarily his skill as a portrait painter that gained Zorn international acclaim based principally upon his incisive ability to depict the individual character of his model. His subjects included three American Presidents, one of whom was Grover Cleveland in 1899, as well as his wife, along with William H. Taft and Theodore Roosevelt. At 29, he was made a Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur at the Exposition Universelle 1889 Paris World Fair.

Social Gaming
The Magic Circle - a concept that suggested by Calleja, that a person crosses a physical or mental boundary when playing a game that it separates it from the real world (2015, p. 211). This concept suggests that the emotions that some games can create - particularly anger, will be repeated in everyday life thus, it is viewed as dangerous.
Tumblr media
A case study that was looked at during this week was World of Warcraft, this game exhibits stylized aggression and violence. Due to a large player base, it attracted the attention of theorists who discovered that these online players have been illustrating issues of virtual world ethics and laws of acts personal jurisdiction, from acts of offensive and anti-social behaviour online (Schaengold 2012, p. 361). This case study is an example in which supports Huizinga’s concept about the Magic Circle being a blurred line as players will exploit their emotions if they are so emotionally involved in the game.
Tumblr media
It is was discovered by ‘gamers’ that those that played World of Warcraft had ‘toxic’ traits, which this term was adopted by such ‘gamers’ to describe people that had anti-social behaviour. Gaming can be considered an illness when it is taken too far and the players become so addicted that all they do is eat, sleep and think about gaming, probably not even sleep as they would want to just be constantly playing games. There are people that will neglect their lives and commitments to play games - therefore, it can be justified as an illness as they are illustrating anti-social behaviour, they call it a ‘gaming disorder’. It can have a “negative impact on family life, relationships, and work, or education” (Leonard 2018).
As gaming is forever developing, so will the development of preventing online bullying, and harassment through social gaming. More people also will be aware of this gaming disorder and should put restrictions on how long they are active in the game world in order to prevent addiction that could lead to a destructive life in the real world. Abusive actions may be apart of the game as it can be considered a cathartic way to release tension from say a long day at work or school, however, these actions should not be taken too far where the repercussions are so serious. There should be gaming moderators in which they observe gamers, particularly those that play for long periods of time and exhibit how they behave online.
Gaming should be a safe environment in which people can go to, to escape the real world for some amount of time and to relax and get some entertainment out of it - gaming should not involve harassment or abuse. Play the Game!
