We are honored to screen alongside documentaries #Hurdlefilm by Michael Rowley and #highwaymike by Sriyanka Ray @SriyankaRay. https://vimeo.com/272258596 Elegy Ending with a Cell Door Closing is a creative non-fiction animated poem written and spoken by Reginald Dwayne Betts about his friend & former cellmate Rojai Fentress (aka Fats) who in 1996 was a 15 year old child sentenced to life in prison for a crime he did not commit. On the strength of one witness who didn't actually see the slaying, and with zero physical evidence linking Rojai Fentress to the homicide, a jury found him guilty on the murder charge.
