The nightmares always came at dawn.

Vivid images of destruction, pain, and suffering painted everything in red and black, making sure that no matter what Rylen woke up covered in sweat and panicked. On mornings like that, he’d feel himself shiver, trying to stave off the craving that came every time he went too long between his doses, knowing full-well it was the lack of lyrium in his veins that brought on the bad dreams.

So he’d slowly get off his bed and, with his shaking hands, he’d pull out his accursed philter to do what needed to be done to carry on with his day. Only after, he’d sit at his tiny table and sob into his palms, the new power coursing through his body, already numbing him to the guilt of his sins.

24. Do you prefer AUs with the characters, or sticking to the original universe?

The thing about sticking to the original universe is that it’s safer and easier to write. Like, if I ever get stuck, I can pull out an event from the game and use it as inspiration, if that makes sense? Of course, canon does get kind of boring after a while, which is where AUs come in. AUs can be harder to write because you’ll essentially have to come up with the whole-ass plot yourself, but it’s also fun because you can fool around in different settings.

I don’t think I’ve ever written a proper original universe story - canon has a lot of things I won’t accept so I will change them when I write lol. I guess the answer to the question is... I don’t have any preferences? The only preference I have is for my brain to let me write [sobs in writer’s block].

What's the first thing Morrigan and Rowan notice about each other? Or the first time they check each other out and notice that they're doing it?

Morrigan noticed Rowan’s prowess in battle and was like fuck yeah, these dude isn’t one who just barks orders, he’s right there with them, unafraid and unrelenting. Then when Flemeth brought him and Alistair back to the hut she tended to his wounds and was very compelled by a certain trail of hair on his lower stomach...

Rowan definitley noticed her voice first--never heard one like it in his life. That compelled him right along with her movements. She has such a grace about her he loves.

What are the sleeping positions for your couples? Are they spooners or no? Who's little or big spoon? Does anyone snore or talk in their sleep? Allllll the sleeping deets for your OTPs!

Good question. HMMM....no snorers because my husband snores, drives me insane so I won’t do that to my loves LOL

Ari/Zev - she sleeps on his chest, arm over him. The first thing she sees upon waking is his tatoos on his chest.

Ari/Anders - she is the little spoon. Anders clings to her as if afraid she’ll disappear while he sleeps.

Cullen/Dria - They don’t snuggle while sleeping usually, but she will if Cullen is having a bad dream to settle him. Otherwise his body temp runs to hot for her to be comfortable.

Nathaniel/Bethany - They start off spooning but through the course of the night are usually lying beside each other. This is good since Nathaniel usually has to be up before her, so he can get up, leave her to sleep.

Nathaniel/Cara - he’s just happy if she doesn’t smack him in the face when she flails in her sleep.

Alistair/Lizzy - I haven’t decided yet. Alistiar’s just excited there’s a woman in his bed.

I immediately thought of Arthur’s cowboy boots so I went with Arthur and Charlotte <3

Sometimes Arthur left articles clothes when he departed back to his people, a shirt or a vest usually. Charlotte washed them for him, though sometimes she indulged in donning it before hand, even taking his hat that he left her and pretending to be him. She practiced his drawl and the way he turned “sure” and “shore” into the same word, and offered performances when he returned. He laughed self-deprecatingly, attempting to mimic her voice and “Yankee talk” in turn.

One morning after he stayed the night, she woke before him. She was going to boil water for coffee when she nearly tripped on his boots. With the mad idea in her mind, she slid the well worn leather on her too-small feet. With some practice pacing in the kitchen, the boots echoing against the wooden floor, she managed to find her footing.

Arthur awoke to coffee. Before he could ask about the boots, she hiked up her skirt. He ran a hand over his mussed hair, laughing at the site of his Charlotte wearing his boots. It paired nicely with the shift nightgown, he said.

“Now m’am,” he asked after coffee across from her at the table, “can I have them back now?”

After a little while, she promised. Maybe after another cup. He accepted the proposal, wondering why it took her so long to swipe his boots.

“I wonder what it’ll be next,” she said.

“You already took my heart.”

From across the table, he took her hand and kissed it.
