This is the Lambrou Pens LN2 Harvest artist proof fountain pen made in 2020. This 6 inch long pen is based on the Lambrou Pens Oversize Legend hand crafted by Paul Rossi from Flame Red diffusion bonded acrylic. Paul also hand crafts the floral design clip from sterling silver. The artist is Yoshitsugu Nakama, whose roots are from Japan but he now lives and works in New York. Yoshi is allergic to urushi sap which is toxic and instead creates his works with a modern, inert material which he seals with epoxy resin. The design on this pen is called Harvest and is based on an original watercolor by Jenny Lambrou to represent harvest time on the island of Cyprus. Yoshi painted the cap and barrel with grapevine leaves, bunches of grapes, wheat stalks, and morning glory flowers. The pen is coated in a pale yellow-brown to better highlight the wheat artwork. The blue seal, designed by Paul Rossi, represents the American Bald Eagle. The LB6 Virtues Collection were crafted by Paul Rossi in seven exclusive diffusion bonded acrylic finishes, ten pieces each finish, based on the Lambrou Pens Mythos oversize pen. Each pen was fitted with a Bock oversize G-380, 18-karat gold nib unit in Medium. Each 5 3/4 inch long pen was created individually by Paul Rossi from Classic Pens Space Blue diffusion bonded acrylic. The planet Jupiter inlay on the barrel is in Flame Red diffusion bonded acrylic. Four of Jupiter’s moons are represented in white and blue acrylic inlays. There are twenty-one stars in 18 karat gold, inlaid in three constellation formations, with seven stars each formation. On either side of the clip are the Big Bear and Little Bear and Orion is on the barrel. Small sterling silver stars are inlaid to complete the night sky surrounding the planet. This is the Classic Pens LR6 Galaxy fountain pen prototype from 2013. The 6 inch long Galaxy was a planned addition to the Celestial art pens collection, which included the Planets and Jupiter, and was based on the oversize Mythos pen, made from Space Blue diffusion bonded acrylic. The pen was hand crafted by Paul Rossi, who also created the sterling silver clip which has a star field within a textured pattern to compliment the sterling silver and gold wire star inlays on the pen cap and barrel. His initials appear on the end cap just below the trim ring. The planets are inlaid acrylic pieces. It featured an 18 karat gold two-tone rhodium plated Bock nib stamped CLASSIC over 18K 750 over the nib grade, in this case medium. This is a set of LB2 Kimono prototypes with the artwork on Classic Pens Legend pens, done in the Togidashi Maki-E technique, which is a combination of two painted designs that run the length of the cap, barrel and section in a continuous flow. The base colors are applied in wide bands that softly transition from one color to the next down the length of the pen. A fine gold dust is then sprinkled over the cap and barrel, which gives the finish its sheen. Finally, the artist paints the raised concentric rings of alternating silver and gold. Every pen carries the Red Seal Signature of the artist, Tatsuya Todo, near the base of the barrel. A throwback photo from 2007. This is a Classic Pens LS8 Iruka (Dolphins) on the Parker Duofold Centennial, launched in 2004. It has a three dimensional high relief composition of dolphins on a deep blue background to represent dolphins swimming in the ocean. The dolphins are textured in gold with pearl inlay eyes to give them a playful appearance. The design is by maki-e artist Shogetsu Mitani and has his Red Seal signature. He is famous for his work on various Japanese objects including ceremonial tea items, some of his which have been purchased by the Japanese government for special occasions. Paired with the CP4 Washington, the set was the fourth limited edition in the CP series, based on the sterling silver Sheaffer Legacy fountain pen. The pens commemorate the capital cities of the American Civil War. The complex engraving was done using a circular engraving machine dating from 1928 by the Murelli company in France. The Sheaffer Legacy was a modern version of the Sheaffer PFM, a landmark pen introduced in 1959 and noted for its new Inlaid nib and equipped with Sheaffer’s Snorkel filling unit. The Legacy uses a pneumatic Touchdown filler with a removable converter so cartridges may also be used. The pen fills by unscrewing the end cap, pulling out the plunger, inserting the nib into ink and quickly pushing in the plunger. It is fitted with a Sheaffer 18 karat gold Inlaid nib and accented with 22 karat gold plated trim. The cap band is laser engraved with CP4 and the individual edition number. This is a previously unpublished photo from 2009. This is a Lambrou Pens Grapevine prototype, a high relief sterling silver art pen created in 2009, by the Argentinean artist Juan Carlos Pallarols. The base is a plain silver CP8 fountain pen, a full size cartridge/converter Legend 766L at 5.75 inches long. Mr. Pallarols creates thick silver tubes for the cap and barrel. He utilizes the CP8 cap top, section and nib unit, cap band and barrel end, with his creation. Through a small hammer and chisel he hand creates a very high relief unique art pen. This art using a hammer, chisel and precious metals, in particular silver, has been passed down from generation to generation for more than 250 years. The clip is hand crafted sterling silver by Paul Rossi. This is a complete set of Classic Pens LB5 prototype fountain pens photographed over the course of their introduction from 2012 and 2013. Left to right are Tensui (raindrops) in Space Blue, Tairiku (continent) in Marble White, Midorigi (new green trees) in Forest Green, Kaen (violent flames) in Flame Red, Kouseki (metal ore) in Diamond Brown, Tairiku (continent) in Amethyst Mauve, and Tensui (raindrops) in Space Blue with rhodium plated trim and nib. Each is made of Carville diffusion bonded acrylic and is a 6 1/16 inches long oversize cartridge / converter pen based on Sailor's top of the line King Profit, also known as King of Pen. The LB5 is ¼ inch longer than the standard King Profit because the barrel is longer. The cap band is a very wide, full to cap lip gold plated insert, engraved with SAILOR LB5 [model name] 00/50 around the entire band. Each color had 50 production pens each with an individual edition number on the band. The standard nib was a medium or broad 21 karat gold Sailor nib marked 1911 over 21K over 875 over the Sailor logo.
