I don’t like pretty boys

Tetsuya Kuroko

👤If you would have called him a pretty boy in literally every other situation, Kuroko would have been over the moon. You have to consider that he is often overlooked due to his natural talent to just not be noticed by people even if he is standing right next to them. Instead you decide to go straight for his feelings by telling him that you have no interest in pretty boys like him. You might as well have just punched him in his gut and it would have probably hurt less than your instant rejection. You didn't even give him a chance... Tetsuya doesn't even try to say anything back as he instead quietly leaves the scene. He is visibly gloomy for the rest of the day though and has never been more glad that people don't notice him as he just needs some time for himself to work through his pain. He feels unfairly treated as you just judged him only based on his looks without considering his personality. He's sure that if you were to know him better, you would realise that too.

👤Then again, he has spent more time stalking you and following you around than actually spending time with you in person. Maybe that is where the problem lies? He spends the next few days trying to gather the courage to approach you again but he always gets cold feet as there is always this clench of his heart when he tries to do so, scared that you will send him away again. Plans are made during those days where Kuroko follows you around, observes you and thinks about what the best way is to face you once again. He knows your routine by heart as he waits for you in the places he knows you will stop by eventually. Kuroko isn't the most social person by a long shot but he thinks that maybe that is the problem right now. You just haven't gotten the chance to know him well enough which is why you made this unfair assumption about him. Hopefully he will be able to change your mind because if you reject him once more, he might get a bit desperate.

Atsushi Murasakibara

🍭I don't think he has ever given it much consideration that he would be considered quite good-looking by many others. So you can probably imagine his major confusion when you tell him very clearly that you aren't into pretty boys like him. Are you confusing him with Himuro right now? Because his friend is usually the one who is considered the pretty boy in the team. Don't worry though, you won't hurt his feelings in the slightest bit with your rejection. Because Atsushi just decides to ignore it as if it never happened in the first place. Ignorance is apparently really bliss after all. He genuinely doesn't understand what your problem is with him and because he can't understand he just brushes it off as something not important and continues to seek you out. So there you have him, a giant man who is acting like a giant baby as you decide to vehemently avoid him whenever he approaches you. Murasakibara is just as persistent though as he chases you around whenever you try to disappear.

🍭He eventually starts to feel irritated as well as frustrated with your behavior. Why are you being so difficult? He just wants to spend his time with you. The lack of attention and care you decide to give him really upsets him to the point where he becomes uncooperative in other aspects of his life as he isn't in the mood and doesn't see the meaning behind it if you aren't around. He starts getting desperate pretty soon and attempts to somehow get your attention back on him. From following you around whilst whining like a spoiled child to trying to bribe you with his candy. It is all annoying and exhausting for you, at least until his thinning patience finally snaps and he starts getting angry with your difficult attitude. That's when he starts being physically forceful as he drags you around with him or just lifts you up as if you are a toy and carries you to a place where he can be alone with you. He even starts scaring your friends as he starts feeling very jealous that you ignore him but pay so much attention to them.

Seijuro Akashi

🏆You're playing a very dangerous game by telling him just like that to his face that you have little to no interest in a pretty boy like him. Especially if you two are around people you can probably audibly hear the crowd around you gasping for air as you reject him as quick as you do. Even Akashi didn't expect this and for a while he is genuinely baffled as he stares at you with a surprised look. This shock quickly dies down though as he regains his composure. He feels genuinely offended which is a first for him as no one has ever dared to greatly disrespect him due to his influence and the fact that most people are at least a bit afraid of him. He lets you get away with it though. For now at least. There is only the slightest twitch of his eyebrow and the displeased glint in his eyes that gives you the chills for a short moment before it all disappears behind a neutral look he puts on. He'll ignore this for now but it isn't very nice to just judge him based on his physical appearance.

🏆A tiny part of him still manages to feel amused by your proclamation as it is usually his appearance that earns him adoration from fans. It's almost nice that you don't fall into the same category of all of his fans but that doesn't mean that you can just reduce him to a mere pretty boy and be done with. If you do that with others, he doesn't care but don't you dare do it with him. He is much more than just a handsome face and if you allow him to prove that to you, you would do the both of you a favor. You are going to spend an increased amount of time with him from that day on and if you don't want to do it by your own free will, Seijuro can simply arrange a thing or two behind your back. Mind you, he is being considerate right because despite the manipulation he uses to influence your own life, he is still allowing you the choice of freely choosing to get to know him better. If you decide to remain stubborn until the bitter end though, he may have to show you why people are so scared of him.

Tatsuya Himuro

◾Himuro is the definition of a pretty boy and he is absolutely adored by all of his fans who send him love letters all of the time. Perhaps he can understand your sentience somewhere as he is aware of the bad image people as attractive as him tend to have. Putting all of this aside he is definitely not very appreciative that you tossed him aside by merely judging his looks because he is not like you imagine him to be. Tatsuya has his pride and you damaged that by throwing him out without giving him the chance to even allow him to get closer to you. That is definitely a tough pill to swallow but Himuro won't give up that easily. Now his own pride is on the line which makes him even more determined because he won't allow you to just think of him in a bad light without even getting to know him properly. Have you ever considered that your way of judging people might be quite shallow? God, does he turn more arrogant after your rejection as he starts harshly judging the people you choose to hang out with instead.

◾Despite all of the brooding emotions he doesn't let anyone else know about how he is feeling. His sole focus is on you know after all as he is determined to change your mind about him. Himuro does opt for the more reasonable route at first as he tries to interact more with you and to show you that he is more than what you think of him. If you still choose to be ignorant, he starts getting more manipulative in return. He will start guilt-tripping you then in an attempt to make you feel bad for treating him the way you do. Don't you feel bad for judging him so quickly without even knowing him? Tatsuya will even infiltrate the circle of people you spend your time with to pressure you even more by using them. The charm that you despise works on others quite well after all and whilst he feels a tad bit guilty for using your own friends against you, you aren't exactly nice either for just ignoring him only because he happens to be physically attractive either. Let's just try to get along and give him a chance , okay?

Takao

• but takao is obsessed with you, he worships the ground you walk on

Hey anon!!! Thanks for the ask!! Favorite fics...I've written. You've given me too much freedom by asking my why I like them I am so sorry for the wall of text about to hit.

To Veer The Tides

It's a fic for Kuroko no Basuke which is basically just me slapping the character names onto a WILDLY different fantasy setting. It's for Akashi x Furihata. An arranged marriage AU where Akashi is the son of an emperor who went too power hungry and wanted to consolidate 7 mostly independent states(provinces??) into one, but he was defeated by the remaining states and to control Akashi, he is arranged to marry far below his station to Furihata, son of a destroyed noble house which is under the rule of Kagami's state. So it's about Akashi climbing back to power with Furihata initially thinking Akashi is pure evil but he soon realizes that maybe Akashi and his family aren't as evil as the people believe.

I ended up doing so much research, world-building and character expansion. It's more political intrigue than romance, lol. I still love that fic to death, I think I honestly peaked there for world-building, at least. I wrote it immediately after reading and watching Mo Dao Zu Shi and being first introduced to the concept of cultivation as a magic system and really wanted to put all my faves in flowy robes and long hair.

I want to get back to it, but I've discontinued it because I am simply not qualified to right about Dissociative Identity Disorder, systems and alters. Akashi has a terribly stereotypical portrayal of it in canon and I thought maybe I could research enough to write that, but I just, I don't know any systems and I felt like if I can't respect it, I didn't want to do it.

But it's still my favorite in terms of the world and aesthetics I had going on for it.

2. Tell Me Your Story (I'll Tell You Mine)

My current baby. The one I incessantly post about and draw for. Single-handedly over saturating the kyoshi warrior sokka x blue spirit zuko market. It's set in the canon world but I had to do so much research for this one too. I learned a lot, I think, while writing this. Big lesson being never ever write in present tense but if you're 200K+ words into it there is simply no going back RIP.

It started as just a silly romance because I thought it'd be funny to have Sokka and Zuko be completely oblivious to who they like. But as I began plotting and writing, it transformed into me projecting all my issues with colonialism and using the ATLA setting as base to dip a little bit deeper into the themes the show itself brings up, and some issues that it doesn't. Like, how colonialism uses your own culture against you, how it makes you fear who you are, makes you do things you don't want.

I deliberately chose that title because lots of indigenous communities in the world have lost their stories because of colonialism. Oral traditions and tales that are forgotten because people were killed and forced to never repeat them, forced to forget their languages. And that, really got to me. How colonialism slowly strips you of what makes human beings what they are; stories, art, music, dance, etc.

So this fic ended up being about how colonialism steals from you, uses what is yours AGAINST you and how it is important to embrace who you are and fight back.

3. Tell The Neighbours I'm Not Sorry

It's for Jon and Jay from DC Comics and Superfam. I wrote it when I was seeing a lot of biphobia against Jon and racism against Jay. As a bi asian, even if it was towards fictional characters, it was getting to me. People kept talking about how there's a specific way to be bi. Why did Jon never have a crisis about being queer? Why did Jon and Jay move so fast? Is Jay manipulating Jon just to get what he wants? It was all filled with a lot of stereotypes and biases.

Superman comics especially often taken up real world issues and puts it into the story. So I took all my anger and frustration from the biphobia and racism and wrote it into a fic.

It's about how there's no one way to being queer, and about how immigrants and non-white people are immediately classified as some kind of 'other' and 'bad' with zero grounding. It's also a little bit about colonialism on Jay's end. It's so charged with me going "FUCK IT!" and still somehow came out okay as a fic and I think I like that I managed to turn my anger into something productive.

Bonus

4. An Itajun fic I have not published and am still writing

It's my first JJK fic! It's an absolute mess in my drafts right now but I really like it, it's very fun for me. Junpei starts seeing and sensing curses far earlier because of built resentment from his bullies going too far and severely injuring him, his mom finds out and they move to Yuuji's area of Tokyo to get away from the school since they won't do anything about the bullying. Yuuji and Junpei run into each other and meet early at school. So the dynamics are kinda reversed, where Junpei is the one who is into the world of curses first while Yuuji has no clue, but they slowly interact and come together, forming a tight bond.

Junpei trusts no one and is dealing with all this curse nonsense trying to understand what it means. Yuuji is seemingly happy and chipper but he's going through tough times because his grandpa got hospitalized. It's both of them supporting each other and making sure the other isn't alone.

KNB Characters in ATLA

Okay pretend this is like, when the 100-year war is about to start, so the Air Nomads are still around.

Kuroko: Non-bender from the Southern Water Tribe. He's really determined about stopping the Fire Nation and learns how to use long range weapons that are easy to carry. I really want to say Boomerang.

Kagami: FIRE-BENDER there is literally no other option. He's actually the son of an Fire Nation soldier and Earth Kingdom woman and was supposed to be from the colonies but his parents died, and he got adopted by Alex, who's an Air Nomad.

Kise: Waterbender from the Northern Water Tribe. He's not a prince but he's definitely nobility. He's mastered pretty much every form of sub-bending for waterbending; except the plant manipulation and blood-bending.

Midorima: Earthbender, like, what else? He's the son of an Earth Kingdom nobleman who's ruling a Fire Nation colony, therefore he's sort of friends with Fire Nation royalty.

Aomine: Waterbender from the Southern Water Tribe. His mom is chief and he's a bit of spoilt brat. He's the best bender they have and he's itching for adventure outside of their home to really test out his waterbending skills. He joins Kuroko when Kuroko heads out to check wtf is going on with the Fire Nation recently.

Momoi: Non-bender scholar, trained in hand-to-hand. Though she isn't a bender, she observed the waterbender healers and figured out how to do chi-blocking. She joins Aomine and Kuroko when they head out to ensure they don't do anything extremely stupid and die at sea.

Murasakibara: Airbender who sticks to the the Air Temple he was born in. Hella chill, very mellow, he's an expert in pulling pranks whenever he's bored and very good at baking pies.

Akashi: Prince of the Fire Nation, Firebender. He's mastered lightning-bending and is extremely obedient to his dad. He used to be friends with kids from the other nation(*ahem* GoM) when he was around 10 but his dad cut off all connection because he was, ya know, planning on starting the 100-year war.

Haizaki: Waterbender from the Northern Water Tribe. He's not a noble and is highly competitive with Kise, whom he can never defeat. Their training was very similar and they're both some of the best benders but Haizaki is heavily focused on combat and never even attempts healing(which is why he can't reach Kise's level, Kise figured out newer techniques because of the healing thing).

Kiyoshi: THE AVATAR!!! No it's not just because his name sounds like 'Kyoshi'. He's from an Earth Kingdom town and knows he's the Avatar pretty early but he doesn't make a big deal about it. Then the Fire Nation starts decimating the Air Nomads and RIko urges him to start learning. Kiyoshi is honestly the only person who can be trusted with this amount of power and is closest in temperament to Aang. He's froma humble background and just wants to ensure everyone gets to live peacefully.

Riko: Non-bender who's a student, she learned about all sorts of bending styles out of curiosity and even trained with a sword on her own time with her dad. She's the one who plotted the training regimen for Kiyoshi's Avatar training.

Hyuuga: A Fire Nation, non-bender soldier who Kiyoshi and Riko run into on their travels to find a firebending teacher. Hyuuga is getting very suspicious about his new orders about conquering Earth Kingdom territories, but is initially reluctant to defy. But then he sees Kiyoshi and Riko, and the three get into some trouble and Hyuuga decides to join the two, having realized that the Fire Nation is getting ready for an all-out-war against the Air Nomads.

Himuro: He's the illegitimate child of a Northern Water Tribe noblewoman. She had met a Fire Nation soldier and the two had an affair. She had Himuro but abandoned him, and he was taken away by sailors to be raised in the Earth Kingdom. Himuro grew up on the streets and on pirate ships, with only a betrothal necklace from his mom to know of his heritage which was given by the soldier. He hates the water tribe for abandoning him, and is later taken in by Alex. So he sorta grows up with Alex and he later realizes Kagami's dad is actually also his dad, and that his dad was chased away from the NWT and began another life with Kagami's mom.

Nijimura: Earthbender who's from a downtrodden background. His dad works in crystal mines but is growing weaker. Nijimura had to take over his dad's work and while mining, he became an expert in bending crystals and other non-generic forms of earth.

Come on, obviously this guy is the most emotionally intelligent out of all of them.

But does he approach the people he likes? No

But it’s painfully obvious when he does fancy someone

His ears become red. Warning: fair chance of passing out

He does his best to be more assertive though, meticulously planning how to approach his crush

Very very thoughtful, remembers what you told him 128 days, 13 hours, 6 minutes ago about that video you were showing him

When he’s with someone, you better bet the relationship will last for years

Not that he’s boring like that or anything but Kuroko hates the mind games that come with modern dating

But Kuroko’s immensely loyal to some may argue, a fault, I think

Like s/o wants to swerve careers? Kuroko supports

Wants to start a small business? He’s supportive

Needs to rob a bank/hide a body? He has all the tools already......

Kise has quite a fanbase, as we all know

Headcanoning is that a word that Kise gets scouted by a Japanese company and becomes an idol for a short while

Kise’s a jack-of-all-trades so I can definitely see him working in different fields and having multiple sources of income

Which means he’s probably met a lot of people along the way

So yes this boy dates casually a lot, mostly just for publicity, and the other party knows it usually. People just come up to him and ask him out.

(Possible spoilers for the media each ship is from)

—–- Singed + Silco (Arcane): I'm actually so new to this ship, but my brain suddenly decided to hyperfixate on Singed, and Silco was already one of my favorites too, so just... dubiously united villain couple hello??

The fan fics I've read of them so far are delicious as fuck, and the artwork I've seen is juuuust amazing. Wholesome stuff, dark stuff. I love it all.

And I love the idea of Powder occasionally interacting with Singed, and like he's not really her dad (he's Viktor's heh), but he's still a second wise adult figure in her life, and he uses his thorough understanding of what makes Silco tick to help Powder with communicating with him (or hiding certain little things from him huehue).

Singed is the only character that Silco is never once seen so much as manipulating, let alone intimidating or threatening. I like to think Silco knows that Singed is kind of in a league of his own, and that if he tried to boss him around in the wrong way, Singed could very easily end him in his sleep. Or worse. :3

Though I don't think they hold any animosity towards each other. I don't see it as a very tense relationship. If anything, I like to imagine that they care about each other in some sort of way. Sure, it's partially because Silco provides the space, funds, and test subjects while Singed provides vital medical help and, well, Shimmer. But I'm a sap, so maybe there's a slight bit more there, I dunno!

—–- Misaka + Kuroko (A Certain Scientific Railgun): Listen. Surgically remove Kuroko's... egh, Problem. And you have an utterly gorgeous relationship.

OR, at the very least, actually do something with her obsessive nature! Tell a real story with it. I literally went through a similar (not sexual) thing in real life, and I have told the story of how I overcame it. I would ADORE seeing Kuroko remain problematic, but then grow past it, and learn to respect Misaka fully.

But if noooot... there's always the option to just get rid of it entirely because holy shit is Kuroko's admiration and trust in Misaka beautiful. The way Kuroko lays down her life her, appears in an instant to aid her, forces herself not to pester her for days and weeks despite agonizing over whether Misaka is okay... The way she takes pride and comfort in doing those things for her, how she calls out her name lovingly while fighting for her. It touches my heart so much, man.

And Misaka, despite how often Kuroko annoys her, knows she can rely on her and be vulnerable around her. She values Kuroko's thoughts and cares how she feels about her, past all that Level 5 "Ace of Tokiwadai" stuff. She's protective of all her friends, of course, but I always imagine that she holds herself double responsible for Kuroko's safety. She's who she thinks of first, every time. Misaka recognizes when Kuroko is pushing herself too hard, and she softens in such a genuine, nurturing way to assure her that she can rest easy.

The level of dedication these two have for each other is wonderful, and how could I not ship them?

—–- Aizawa + Toshinori (My Hero Academia): Honestly, I like a lot of MHA ships, but this was my first OTP for that series, and it's simply because despite having a very prickly start, their relationship grows into this very gentle mutual respect and protectiveness of one another, and it's just... so cute! And it hurts me so much.

I've read a lot of fics, written a lot of roleplays, seen a lot of art, and watched a lot of AMVs. I feel such a deep heart-throbbing when I see them together. Caring, protecting, sacrificing, mourning, fighting, regretting, saving, comforting....

Sometimes I don't even know how to describe it, but I have cried over these two so many times. I want them to be happy. I want to see them suffer on the way there. I want them to recognize their own inner demons when they look into the other's eyes, and then commit to being better because of each other. I've seen them through every AU I could think of within—god, however many years I was in love with them. And I can still remember why.

—–- Rouxls Kaard + Spade King (Deltarune): So I find both of these characters unfairly attractive in many fanarts, and they are one of my favorite mutually toxic relationships.

I credit one of my friends and his amazing unfinished series about them for the way I now envision them and how they interact. Spade could likely be called abusive simply due to his violent nature and power over Rouxls (both physical and social), but Rouxls is a manipulative, lying little weasel who is using Spade as much as Spade is using him.

Neither one of them have a damn clue how to treat another person right, though they both try and succeed (more often than not) with Lancer. Perhaps it's his innocence in all this, but unlike their terrible, broken relationship with each other, their relationships with Lancer are actually strong and outwardly loving.

Spade isn't nearly as aggressive with him as everyone else, he does what he thinks will make his son happy, and while he may sometimes be clipped, he isn't dismissive. Meanwhile, Rouxls tells himself Lancer is not his son and shouldn't be his responsibility, but dammit he loves the kid anyway! Lancer's smile brightens his day, and Rouxls will even risk getting himself in trouble with the king in order to give Lancer happiness. He puts off his own wants for him, does what he can to comfort him when he's sad, and frets QUITE heavily about his safety (albeit that one has a double-motive—obviously the king would kill his dumb ass if Lancer got hurt under his watch, but that's beside the point, he sayeth!)

Anyway yeah, Dad and Lesser Dad plz.

I can't overstate how much I love seeing fiction depict complex, nuanced relationships with plenty of toxic elements to examine. It's a way to relate some of their traits to my past mistakes, or even my current flaws. It helps me understand myself better. Also it's hot! x3

And really wholesome if the characters manage to actually improve themselves and start showing real affection and care for each other.

Wakatoshi Ushijima

🦅I mean, Wakaoshi is delusional and for that oblivious to the wrongness of his feelings but he is quite intimidating and intense so perhaps you don't have too much of a hard time pinpointing him down as a Yandere. Luckily you don't mind it for the most part, even though you are smart enough to realize that discussing this topic with him would lead nowhere, simply because this man would never consider his own feelings as something unnatural. Perhaps that's a testament to his own cluelessness regarding love in the first place. It's still quite important to set some boundaries though because if you don't tell him when to stop, Wakatoshi will pretty much see your nonchalant behavior as a confirmation that he's doing everything right. So if you don't like him towering over you and knocking someone's air out of their lungs with the sheer intensity of his glare alone, you'd better let him know. I'm sure he'd be considerate enough to try to adjust his behavior a bit to make you more comfortable, especially since you accept everything else otherwise with such calmness.

Tetsuya Kuroko

👤Kuroko is lucid and rational enough to know that normally people would be scared when finding out that he's an obsessed stalker so he makes an effort to keep it a secret from his lover. Apparently he doesn't know anything though because you don't seem to mind it that much after all. It's just a bit weird and he's almost more concerned than you are and this confusion makes him act more cautious around you for a while. He's just silently observing you for a while, pondering if you really mean that. When he eventually comes to terms with the fact that you truly mean what you say, he relaxes and feels a sense of relief wash over him. In return for your acceptance, Tetsuya starts trusting you a lot more, although he's never been the overly controlling partner in the first place. Both of you can mutually agree though that Tetsuya shouldn't resort to violence, the only condition you set up for him. The blue-haired boy feels like he owes you anyways for almost flawlessly accepting his obsessive side so he feels like he should try all the harder to fulfill you your sole wish. Overall he feels like both of you get a lot more closer to each other since he now keeps less secrets from you.

Ryōta Kise

✨Deciding to not mind Kise's overwhelming antics is an achievement in itself which only unlocks the worst in the boy in return. Obviously Kise is very possessive and delusional, he's arrogant to the point where he believes that you'll just accept him easily because everyone else adores him too. He interprets your dismissive and nonchalant behavior as confirmation of that, acts all smug about it and steps up his clinginess in return. Honestly, he adores the way his s/o accepts the serious intrusion of their privacy and his clingy and affectionate behavior in private and in public and Ryōta starts doting on you a lot more in return as he finds your antics very sweet. He can get away with almost everything he desires and he loves that but the only flaw would be that you don't really enjoy his possessive and jealous demeanor. A pretty big flaw considering that Kise is prone to those feelings, a terrible attention-seeker who feels like he's the only one you should pay attention to. Here you should navigate carefully since Kise is an entitled individual who will feel quickly insulted if you try to tell him that you want him to step back a bit with his threatening and jealous ways.

Shintarō Midorima

⭐Midorima on the one hand intends to respect your wishes and your privacy, on the other hand he's so fixated on the fact that you must be someone who destiny has made specifically for him due to his superstitious antics that his obsession can't help but flare up. Those are difficult times, especially in the beginning for him but then something rather surprising but not at all unpleasant happens which would be the fact that you actually don't feel bothered by his possessive and sometimes controlling antics. At times you even find it somewhat endearing and that just surprises Midorima a bit. Well, at least until he starts considering that this might be why all of his horoscopes have indicated that you're the right one for him. It would make sense now that he thinks about it, that you'd accept and love him even with his sometimes downright ridiculous antics. It's very reassuring to think about it and in return he allows you to get away with a lot more than he'd usually do as he has even more faith in you. Similar to Kuroko, Shintarō will also do his hardest to avoid any violent and manipulative actions against others to respect your only complaint regarding his behavior.

Daiki Aomine

💙Just being lucid doesn't necessarily mean that one has to feel guilty and Aomine is someone like that. He's very aggressive regarding his feelings and doesn't really plan to better himself unless he realizes that he's seriously scaring his darling. But what if his darling simply accepts his possessive, clingy, overprotective and touchy demeanor? Then it's all pretty much a free game with Aomine but in either case, this just means he won't pull back with his emotions at all. It's very cute in his mind that you're almost pliant when it comes to his antics, it's even thrilling in a couple of ways and Momoi ends up as the only one who would be slightly concerned that neither you nor Daiki necessarily care much. A little bit discretion wouldn't hurt, you two. If you don't keep Daiki on the leash though, he's free to lash out and scare everyone who gets on his nerves and makes him jealous. Perhaps that's where you should step in and stop him or otherwise he'll never learn how to hold properly back at all. His temper is not the easiest to hold back when it comes to his darling but he's at the very least considerate enough to try to hold back if it makes you happier with him.

Atsushi Murasakibara

🍭This 6' 10 feet tall baby will totally get the wrong message if you decide to shamelessly tolerate his behavior as much as you do. His decision to just push on with what he's already doing, clinging to you like a huge leech and demanding your attention as vehemently as he does. Honestly, his teammates are surprised that you handle his childish antics as good as you do and go even as far as indulging him in it, coddling him at times and cooing over his demeanor at times. You find him oddly cute, even with his immense height and unbelievable amount of strength. It's just sweet to see someone who so many others would see as intimidating and scary cuddling up to you and asking you to feed him with sweets. You keep him addicted by indulging in his obsession and Murasakibara in return only wants more. Admittedly, he can be very moody when he doesn't get from you what he wants but it isn't really difficult to make it clear to him that you'll accept everything except him hurting others because you know that he can't stand if you show him the cold shoulder and are angry with him.

Seijūrō Akashi

🏆Akashi is an even better example of someone who is fully aware of the abyss of their own emotions but decides to not care at all and is one reason why he's particularly terrifying. Nevertheless though, he goes the polite route at first and courts his s/o the normal way. He doesn't trust his darling blindly when he notices that they are relatively chill whenever his possessive or controlling side reveal themselves and instead accepts them quietly. You don't have to tell it to him, he'a already caught on to the fact that you know about his obsession and he knows that you know too. Akashi doesn't limit your freedom though as he decides to just keep a watchful eye out for you and see how you act in your daily routine. It doesn't take long though until he realizes that you don't put on an act and in fact really don't mind this at all, at times you even weirdly enjoy it. That's the point where Akashi actually talks with you about it, quite amused by the fact that you so serenely deal with this topic. He doesn't just abuse that fact though and pushes even more on you, in fact he actually pulls back his controlling antics, quite pleased by this. His violent behavior though, let's see how that turns out since nuisances will be removed.

Shinmon Benimaru

❤️‍🔥Benimaru is quite possessive but it's harder to notice since he has such a nonchalant exterior but even if it takes him a bit of time to realize, at one point he becomes quite aware of his obsession. Honestly, he's ready to do his best to hide it from you but then he figures out that you, his darling, is surprisingly chill with his clingy and possessive behavior and suddenly he's cool with it too. Ultimately both of you are so easy-going with it all that it's almost more concerning than before but Benimaru is merely adapting to your own thoughts and feelings. If you're so lax about his obsession, he doesn't see the need to make an needless drama of it when both of you can just enjoy life together. In a way it feels like he has a burden less on his shoulders now since he doesn't need to keep anything a secret from you anymore and can actually indulge in his feelings. That includes him just clinging a lot more to you than he'd normally would but you seem to even enjoy it so he doesn't have any plans to pull back at all. You don't have any problems negotiating with him that you despise violent behavior against people though since as a Fire Fighter Benimaru's job is to protect his citizens.

So, Eve, please indulge me if you may - in your opinion, how did interactions between Kuroko and Haizaki went? We were given very few scenes in manga and even fewer in anime. Curious on your opinion as a resident Kuroko expert.

I will do my best, but you're right, there are so few canon scenes of them. I haven't spent a lot of time thinking about Haizaki, to be honest. To me it has been kind of like he walked out of the story and I didn't force him back in my fics because he's not one of the characters who naturally seem to speak to me. I'm glad he speaks to you and that that you are someone who can see the potential in his character, it really warms my heart and I feel that you're giving his character the attention he deserves. I just don't want to pretend I have any particular insight to him when I don't.

Still, what did I make of their few interactions... Well, the Kuroko side of things seems a lot clearer to me. Kuroko is very idealistic and generally sees the best in people, but the younger he is the less foundation he actually has for those beliefs and he completely lacks the life experience to understand someone like Haizaki, so he was never really going to be able to say anything worthwhile when he went to talk to Haizaki after he heard he'd quit. Besides, if I remember correctly Kuroko didn't know it was Akashi who told Haizaki to quit, anyway, so he didn't even have a good understanding of the situation. In a way Kuroko was right... I'm sure Haizaki does care more than he says, he has just been let down too consistently, but Kuroko's understanding of that is merely a hunch, it's way too vague, he doesn't know the particular logic why it would be true in Haizaki's case, so even if it hits, he wouldn't have been able to say anything that would have made Haizaki actually feel understood. And I do think that Haizaki wasn't truthful when he said something like "Did you think I was a serious person deep down?" Because I'm sure he has that side... It's just been beat out of him to feel like it's worth it to care.

Besides, Kuroko takes every word people say really deeply, seriously and personally, so he never would have bested someone like Haizaki in a verbal fight, especially not at that age. Because he is still approaching everyone with the belief that if he's just earnest and clear enough, he'll get through to people. Like everything bad is a misunderstanding. Of course he'll lose some of that naïvety later, but it's definitely still blooming in that scene. And he's technically right... everyone does just need someone to understand them, in a way, but it's so much more complicated than that. It takes so much more of specific and grounded understanding of someone's particular situation to get through to people who have been through enough shit to build walls according to it. Kuroko probably gets that those walls are there but he keeps wildly underestimating what it would actually take to get through them. (Not in just Haizaki's case, it's a whole theme.)

Meanwhile, Haizaki has a way more of an animal instinct when it comes to people. He generally knows where to strike to hurt, or to just disarm someone. Not everyone and not all the time of course, he's also limited by his perspective. (And I think he gets more limited the worse he gets.) I think in that same scene, he was just going for disarming Kuroko. Why would he waste time for anything else? He can tell it's super easy to manipulate Kuroko into feeling exactly sad, disappointed or hurt enough to shut up for a sec. He probably can't tell on a conscious level that Kuroko is an emotion sponge or what that means but that's still what his instincts are probably leading him to use against him. He doesn't need to go for the lowest blows because Kuroko isn't pushing so hard that it would actually make Haizaki feel truly insecure. A little, yes. Enough that he has to make Kuroko stop talking. Because earnest feelings always alarm those who have had that "innocence" taken from them. But I don't think Haizaki sees Kuroko as a threat to his state of mind in general. Because he's not pushy or aggressively overbearing in a way that would really make Haizaki lash out. Kuroko doesn't have that much of an emotional connection with Haizaki and he's quickly told by everyone to give up on him, so there's really no reason why they would be driven into a real conflict.

That's why I think in general their interactions are pretty civil by Haizaki's standards. Because they don't get on each others nerves enough. Kuroko isn't going to get worked up about a meatball and Haizaki doesn't have any reason to particularly dislike (or like) Kuroko. For the most part, for each other, they just sort of "are there", I think.

Besides, Haizaki really is looking like he dodged a bullet in a sense. I imagine he must be feeling really conflicted about leaving. It's that animal instinct that made him get the sense from Akashi that it really wouldn't be worth the pain to stay, because he could smell that there was something about to go wrong. He doesn't like to be told what to do, or to let go of his pride... But also "who needs the headache"? must be what he's thinking of that interaction with Akashi. That's how he would word it, I think, but the sense of danger was probably deeper. I don't think Haizaki could have chosen anything other than self-preservation at that point.

But, you are the one who has spent a lot of time thinking about Haizaki, so I would really like to hear your thoughts.

I have been thinking of a Kill La Kill au for the 40. Well, some members of the 40 in the Kill La Kill universe would be part of a resistance separate from Nudist Beach. Basically, it's a student rebellion. This group will approach Ryuko Matoi, Mako, Hasegawa Langa (transfer student), Killua Zoldyck, Kamado Tanjiro, Okumura Rin (friend of Matoi), Kageyama "Mob" Shigeo and Korra (who is an outsider like Matoi) to help them overthrow Kiryuin and the Elite Four and abolish the system placed. And i would actually want them to succeed, basically giving Satsuki the experience of being a No-Star. The members that I think should be part of it would include...

Fujiwara Chika

Nanase Haruka (vice captain of swim team)

Naegi Makoto (Lucky No star student)

Katsuki Yuuri (either Ice Skating team for Ice Skating teacher)

Shouyou Hinata (member of Volleyball Team)

Emma (in this universe, she's the younger sister of Shouyou Hinata)

Suzui Ryota (spy for group while he is forced to serve the Elite Four)

Heine Wittgenstein (possible leader of the group)

Kuroko Tetsuya (Secret basketball player and best candidate for Spy of the group)

Legoshi (Human) (Was forced into the experimentation of fusing life fibers with humans, but managed to escape with Saiki and Saitama with the help of U-1146. When he uses life fibers, they give him a wolf-like appearance and attribute. Part of the drama club.)

Kusuo Saiki (Was forced into the experimentation of fusing life fibers with humans, but managed to escape with Saitama and Legoshi with the help of U-1146. He can manipulate his body parts into different forms for offense and or defense.)

Edward Elric (scientist of the group as well, and lost his arm and leg, forcing him to use life fibers as a replacement.)

Shinoda - Double Suicide

This movie was awesome! I think this might be one of the most creatively shot and directed film I've ever seen. I really loved the use of contrast in this film because despite clearly being in the era of color, they decided to go on with black and white. And it pays off! The movie creates some hauntingly beautiful shots just through contrast and brightness of the set. Even more so, the film's dedication to its Bunraku origins creates such unique sets, characters, and themes.

I think Double Suicide covers two main themes: one's agency over their choices and selfishness/selflessness in the family structure. The meta commentary through bunraku speaks about fate, while the actual narrative of the movie speaks about family. Let's discuss the first: Shinoda's focus on maintaining the Bunraku influence.

Through his portrayal of Bunraku traditions, Shinoda comments on an individual's agency over their choices, aka the individual against fate or even society. See this movie could have just portrayed the plot of the play, but Shinoda kept the meta structure of Bunraku intact within the film. Why? Well, the Bunraku itself is not merely for display, it's a legitimate force within the story. The most obvious examples go hand-in-hand: the kuroko and the prologue. Kuroko refers to the general name for stagehands seen in traditional Japanese plays like Bunraku, Kabuki, and Noh. They dress in all black and are in charge of moving props and stage equipment, but in the case of Bunraku, they also operate the puppets--the characters. Yes, in this film, the use of kuroko to guide, help, and restrain the characters likens these characters to puppets in a Bunraku play. I think the best example of this might be when Jihei is caught by his brother and restrained. Despite being tied up, we see the kuroko hold Jihei still. When the kuroko let's go, Jihei too relaxes.

It's not just this scene either, the film is filled with shots of exclusively the kuroko, despite being invisible figures in Bunraku, and scenes of the kuroko aiding the characters themselves. They have a presence, and it is through this that Shinoda communicates that greater otherworldly forces are at play in the story. The decisions that these characters make are not just of their own accord, they are manipulated like Bunraku puppets by fate. But does it end at fate? I thought so initially but I think the movie is meta in of itself. The prologue to this movie is a long conversation between what seems to be the screenwriter and the director discussing the filming of this movie, including a plot point that will occur much later, with the film visually showing the set of what seems to be Bunraku. I think that not only does this reinforce the fact that the characters are not just mere puppets, but puppets of the real production staff of this film. The film breaks the fourth wall to literally signal how despite seeming like people, these characters are ultimately puppets, which to me shows the utmost dedication to its Bunraku source.

Additionally, I think Double Suicide's actual narrative is a commentary on the family structure and selflessness the family exhibits to protect each other. Jihei, one of the main protagonists of the movie, is the antithesis to this. His selfishness endangers the family structure when he prioritizes only himself and his love. Constantly throughout the movie, it is through the consideration of his family that the structure is slowly repaired. The wife's, brother's, and even Koharu's (a sort of family) selfless attitude that make progress to restoring the balance. Yet it is through Jihei's selfishness and cowardness again that the family is torn apart when he chooses to not stop his wife's father from taking his wife back.
