Day 2 - Stealing Clothes
Tumblr media
Komaeda's thin. Well, relatively thin. He's thin, but he's tall, so his clothes drape over his body, a little big on him sometimes. You take notice of it. You remember putting him into your crop top for fun and finding out that he actually looked better in it than you did. He also doesn't seem to care about what he wears as long as you call him pretty boy. You call him pretty no matter what he wears. He just looks good in everything.
But Komaeda's physique also allows a small quirk in the relationship that you deem as a blessing. Swapping closets.
The shirt drapes over your body while you toss the bread into the toaster. The smell fills the room, and Komaeda stirs in his sleep. He blinks open slowly, and he hears the sound of the toast jump up as he finally sits up. "Darling?"
"What's wrong?" You call from downstairs, placing the toast on the plate. You spread the butter on the toast, and you rush upstairs.
"Where's my- oh" He stares at you, and he flushes.
"Hm?"
"My shirt," He mumbles, the covers sliding off his chest. "Do you have one to spare?"
"Yes," You hum, pulling one out of the drawer and throwing it at him. "Are my pajamas okay?"
"Mhm," Komaeda pulls the shirt over his head, and he yawns. "What's for breakfast?"
"Toast," You pause. "I still need to make the eggs."
He opens his mouth before closing it again.
"I'll stay put."
"Please do." You laugh airily, hopping down the stairs. "What do you want on it?"
"Do you have eggs?"
"Yeah," You slide an egg onto his toast. "I'll finish with the rest of breakfast."
Komaeda smiles as you do, and he stares at his metal hand.
"What's wrong?" You slide onto the seat next to him, reaching for the butter.
"Just thinking," Komaeda smiles. "When do we start work?"
"Half an hour." You yawn. "Online."
"Alright." He mumbles. "I'm being sent on another business trip in two days."
"Better make the most of these last two then." You mumble.

komaeda/reader week, day 6: arts and crafts
words: 1594
synopsis: both you and nagito take designing your house in The Sims very seriously.
contains: gender-neutral reader, fluff, childhood best friends (probably young teens here), platonic or romantic it doesn’t matter you guys are together forever, yes the sims is an art and craft
a/n: this is my first time posting any fic on tumblr bc of eli’s komaeda/reader week :)) forgive me if the formatting is bad, I’m unfamiliar with the text editor.
---
You yawned as you returned to your bedroom, closing the door behind you after you slipped inside. It was warmer and darker than the rest of the house; a cave of your own making, with a space heater running close to your bed, and the ceiling lights turned off in favour of some dainty string lights haphazardly pinned to the walls. You didn’t mind the ceiling lights, but Nagito despised them for reasons you didn’t understand, preferring something more soft and ambient instead. You were fine to concede. If it made your room feel more like home to him, you’d do anything.
Poking around the corner of your doorway, you spotted him in the centre of your bed. He was in the same position as you’d left him in; hunched forward with the hood of his sweater pulled over a head of messy white hair, one of his knees pulled up to his chest while the other leg stretched out in front of him. He was illuminated by the bright light from your laptop, which was resting on the bed as close to him as he could get it. You could see just how focused he appeared to be in that glow, with his light green eyes narrowed as they flicked around from corner to corner of the screen, a bit of his tongue sticking out as he messed with the trackpad carefully. You recognized the tongue thing well. He was definitely trying to move some furniture or something.
“You better not be screwing with my sitting room.” You threatened sarcastically, shoving your hands in the pockets of your own hoodie as you began to pad over to him. He raised his head, seemingly a bit caught off guard by your reappearance. When his eyes met yours in the dimly lit room though, he smiled so widely that the corners of his eyes began to crinkle in the way they always did. It made the room feel even warmer somehow. Perhaps that was a result of your heart rate picking up in your chest. He was so cute.
“I wouldn’t dare.” He assured you happily, straightening up a bit and placing his hand on his lower back while he stretched it out. Sitting hunched over like this was not good for either of you, and yet you’d been building this house for hours now. It didn’t matter. You were having too much fun to care. “I’m just trying to figure out how I want this chair in my little reading nook.”
You reached the bed and slid on top of the comforter next to him, laying your legs across his own as you leaned forward to get a look at the screen. Nagito had made a small room adjacent to the sitting room, not much larger than an average walk-in closet, walls lined with bookshelves. The wallpaper was an olive green colour, something that felt cosy, and the armchair he was currently messing with was plush and coloured deep brown, a few throw pillows added on top of it.
“You know, we can make anything in this game.” You noted, leaning your head down on his shoulder as you watched him move the mouse around the chair. “You could give yourself a whole library if you wanted to.”
“Mm. But I don’t want a library.” His voice sounded somewhat melodic. You wanted to wrap yourself in it. Instead, you settled for his free arm, which wrapped itself around your shoulders and gave you a squeeze. “I want a nook. Warm, little. Like a cocoon but it’s a room. And it smells like books!” The excitement in his tone gave it a unique lilt, as if he was dancing you across the words, through the vivid picture.
The Sims didn’t do it justice, but you could see this nook, and him in it. Blanket strewn over his lanky legs as they were strewn across the side of the armchair, awkwardly holding the book above him. When he really got into a story, he usually never sat up properly. It suited him somehow, as if such a thing was more of a natural state for limbs that seemed almost liquid at times.
“What if I want to join you in this hypothetical nook? Or is it off limits?” Ah, did you sound too dreamy when you said that? The two of you had been friends for years. Your lives were intertwined with one another in such a way that never allowed for them to separate. The idea that you’d live together when you were old enough wasn’t a shocking one; you would always be together, even when you were all grown up. That was the way it was, and the way it would always be. Still, whether or not that would remain platonic was something you frequently questioned. A part of you wished for it to change. A part of you was scared of anything new. But in the end, you knew you didn’t have to worry, or rush. For now, you could just design your dream house in the Sims for an embarrassingly long time, and not worry about such things. You were together. That was what mattered.
“It’s our house. Nothing would be off limits to you.” He replied with a sage smile.
“But it’s quite small. I wouldn’t fit.” You posited teasingly, reaching up to give his hand a squeeze.
“You would if we snuggled.” He began to chuckle, and you watched the mouse freeze on the right side of the screen as he looked away to nuzzle his nose against your cheek. You began to giggle almost reluctantly, shoving at his chest to push him off of you. Your cheeks were too warm for this. You wondered if he’d noticed.
“Gross.” You muttered, though you didn’t mean it. When you glanced back at him, the look on his face told you that he was well aware you didn’t mean it either. Oh well.
“I mean, it would be better if I could fit a bigger armchair in here.” He switched the subject, perhaps for your sake. It didn’t change the fact that you were practically snuggling right now, though it did make your blush fade. You leaned your head back against his shoulder again as he clicked on the object, attempting to turn it around. The box around it turned red when he twisted it into the perfect orientation, and you could hear him swear a bit under his breath. “But I can’t. And the controls are so limiting!”
You snorted a bit at his frustration. It was adorable. “Just leave it as it was before. When we make the real nook, I’m sure we’ll be able to squish it in there.”
“We set out this morning to make this thing perfect!” He sounded like he was scolding you for your suggestion, but you could tell he was mostly trying to tease you. This whole thing had been your idea, after all, even if he was the one taking it more seriously by now.
“And now it’s almost 7pm, Nagito. We have to make compromises.” You drawled sarcastically, lolling your head backward onto his shoulder to see his expression as he stared down at the screen again. You could see him attempting to sneak a glance at you in a way that he thought you wouldn’t notice. You did. It made you smile.
“Says the person who spent who knows how long on the paint colour for the sitting room.” He retorted with a grin, biting it back a bit on his bottom lip. Cute.
“It needed to be the right shade of maroon.” You defended yourself, beginning to laugh.
You thought you saw him smile wider at the sound.
“Guys!” Your father’s voice coming from down the hall made you sit up in place, steading yourself with a hand on Nagito’s knee. “Dinner!”
You looked back at Nagito, and he looked down at you, appearing apprehensive. You were already rolling your eyes as you slid off of him and the bed, hand slipping down to his wrist to pull him along with you. “Ah! Just five more minutes. I’m almost done with this room.” He whined, resisting your hold as his hands grasped at the sides of your laptop.
“We can pick out lighting fixtures ‘til the sun comes up, Nagito. But right now we need to eat!” You protested, giving him a good yank. He let out a short squeal, but instead of falling as he did on many occasions, your arms scooped him up and set him straight on his feet. After years of being his friend, you were very used to the act of Komaeda-catching.
He grumbled a little bit as you pushed him forwards, but, as with most things, he went along with it because you were you. You reached ahead to open the door for him, and watched with a stupid grin on your face as he quickly began to squint into the hallway light, having been holed away in the darkness of your room for far too long. “Too bright.” He groaned.
“You can do it, my little hermit crab.” You teased, rubbing his shoulder as the two of you began to walk towards the kitchen, your matching fuzzy socks barely making any noise at all during the journey.
The house wasn’t completed until the early hours of the morning, and was quickly destroyed by a house fire caused by Nagito’s sim attempting to cook a grilled cheese.
Thankfully, you had a save file.

Elliot-Elizabeth's Super Fun and Cool Komaeda x Reader Event Day 1 | Prompt(s) Chosen: Flirting / First Date
Synopsis: You sit with Komaeda the morning before class, insisting on studying for your exam. Little studying gets done however, in favor of idle conversation.
(this is probably the only prompt i'm doing sorry shawties✌️)
Tumblr media
Contains: GN!Reader, fluff, flirting, takes place during hpa, (pre-despair/non-despair) (word count: 497)
Tumblr media
You laughed as Komaeda picked leaves out of his hair, and moved to sit at the picnic table alongside him.
"I can't believe you fell into a bush twice on our way here." Reaching up, you attempted to help him by picking a few stray leaves out of his hair. It was fluffier than you expected.
Komaeda chuckled, turning to you with the same optimistic smile as always. "Yeah, I know! Only two, I'm so lucky!"
You giggled at his misunderstanding, but only shook your head when he gave you a confused look. "C'mon, we have an exam today. We should study together."
"Ah, together?" He seemed to get a little nervous at that. "Are you sure? I'm certain you could find someone much more competent for that-"
You shoved him lightly, and he shut his mouth at once.
"Do you see anyone else around?" You asked sarcastically, (though that didn't stop him from looking around,) "Besides, you're really smart Komaeda. I'd probably choose you anyway. Not to mention we're friends." You explained, smiling.
It was pretty much the same conversation everyday, but you hoped you'd get through to him someday about the fact that you actually wanted to be his friend, and he wasn't just someone you hung out with for lack of better company.
"Friends?" Komaeda looked surprised, just like he always did when you said something remotely positive about him that wasn't backhanded. "Wow! I'm so happy! I still can't believe someone as amazing as you truly has no qualms with calling someone like me your friend." He beamed.
You rolled your eyes. "Try best friend."
"W-What?" He looked genuinely shocked this time. "Best friend? You...hah, you can't mean that..." He smiled unsurely.
"I can and I do mean it. You're really sweet, and I like spending time with you. We talk everyday, and I think I talk to you more than any of my other friends. So, that makes you my best friend, doesn't it?" You smiled.
Komaeda was silent for a moment, staring at your face. His cheeks were pink, but you figured he was probably just embarrassed.
"Best friend, huh...? Well, you're my best friend too." He smiled. "Not that I'd have the audacity to consider you anything else, given your generous view of me."
You tilted your head.
Generous view? What, that he's not garbage beneath my feet?
Despite the easy-going smile on his face, you noticed his hands faintly trembling.
Taking a shaking hand in your own, you smiled. "Then, if we're best friends. Why don't we walk to class together?"
"Huh?" His face was red now, eyes locked onto your interlocked hands. "But...what about studying?"
"I think we'll both do fine. You have an amazing talent, after all!" You grinned.
"You truly think so? Well, I'm in no position to deny you..." The flush was crawling up his neck at this point.
You simply nodded, and Komaeda was pliant as you pulled him along to class.
__
Does this count as flirting? Maybe.

day 1 - awkward flirting/first date
genre: fluff words:  1,077 summary: You want to let Komaeda know you’re interested in him. Either you’re bad at it, or he’s really dense.
☆ ~ ☆
"Komaeda!"
He looks up from the book he's reading, green eyes meeting yours with a pleasant smile. You feel your face starting to heat up already, and suddenly you're second-guessing yourself. What if he thinks you're weird or something, and you ruin any chance you might have had?
He greets you by name, his raspy voice just as carefree as his smile. "Good morning. Is there something you wanted of me?"
Swallowing thickly, you reach into your bag, forcing your hands to stop their shaking and setting a box down on his desk. "Uh, I… accidentally made extra lunch today, and was wondering if you wanted it." That was a lie. You poured your soul into this lunch box for him. Anything that wasn't completely perfect went into your lunch - a burned egg, an unevenly chopped carrot, anything less than perfection. You once heard the way to a boy’s heart was through the stomach.
His face lights up. "Ah! Are you sure? I usually just skip lunch…"
You fight the frown tugging at your lips. No wonder he's so skinny… you hope you made enough for him. Maybe next week, you can 'accidentally' invite him over for dinner…
You bite your tongue. What are you thinking?! You push the lunchbox a bit closer to him. "I'm sure, really. Don't worry about it, okay?"
You go and sit down at your desk, face still red, and from further towards the front you see Mioda winking and giving you a thumbs up. You probably wouldn't have given it to him if she hadn't practically forced you too, so you were grateful for her in that moment. You’d have to see about finding her a new guitar pick or something. Something she would like.
When lunch rolls around, you’re surprised when Komaeda approaches your desk, lunchbox in hand. "Do you mind if I sit with you? You were kind enough to feed me, so I thought…"
"Y-you can sit down!" You squeak, making room on your desk. He sits down across from you and opens up his box… to unevenly chopped carrots. Your heart sinks. How could you give him the wrong one? You were so sure…
Before you can lament for very long, though, he picks up a carrot and pops it in his mouth. His smile never fades. "It's very lovely. Thank you very much for giving this to me."
"Ah… no problem." You look away shyly, picking at your own lunch idly. The two of you eat quietly for a bit, and maybe it's just you, but it feels tense. You clear your throat. "So… Komaeda… uh, you look very nice today."
"Really? I didn't do anything differently…" He looks down at his uniform, his loosened tie and unbuttoned shirt. He never wears his uniform properly. You can feel your heartbeat picking up speed in your chest. "Yeah. Well. You look good every day, it's just… I never got the chance to tell you."
"I see. Well, I'm sure no matter how nice you think I look, nothing comes close to the likes of you!" He laughs, his head tilting, tufts of white hair shifting around his shoulders. You laugh along with him, despite not knowing what's so funny. Your brain is beginning to short circuit.
As the laughter subsides, you gather your courage. Okay. You can do this. It's big kid hours right now.
"Would you like to go see a movie with me this weekend?"
You said it. Holy shit you actually said it. It came out of your mouth and he heard it and you actually did it. You were sure you were going to pussy out, but here you are.
"Ah, a movie…?” His head tilts. “Hm… that does sound fun, however, I have to ask… are you sure you would want to be seen with someone like me?”
You blink, confusion washing over you. “What do you mean?”
“I mean, you’re an Ultimate, and I’m nobody special.” He shrugs, like it’s obvious. Like anyone who glanced your way would agree with him wholeheartedly. “I can’t help but worry what kind of reputation you’ll get from spending time with me outside of school hours… ah, I’m likely ruining your reputation simply by eating with you. I know, I’m so selfish, to accept this meal and then dare to sit with you…”
“K-Komaeda, I made that for you.” You’re talking before you can stop yourself. “I don’t care about my reputation or whatever. I just wanted to make sure you had a decent meal. You’re so thin, and you seem so shaky some days… you almost look ill. I want… to take care of you. To help you. Can’t you let me do that without thinking you’re selfish or whatever?”
He stares. Eyes wide, mouth open, the most surprised you’ve ever seen him react to something, and you’ve seen him go through some weird shit.
A moment later, his pleasant smile returns, but different this time. His nose crinkles, like a bunny rabbit. He laughs softly.
“I see now. You want to put your Ultimate Caretaker talent to use on someone like me.” Komaeda’s eyes sparkle as he looks at you across your desk. “Then I will gladly go see a movie with you this weekend.”
Your heart races, brain melting. He said yes. He said yes.
“Besides, a friendly outing to a theater shouldn’t be too bad. However, if the fire alarm goes off or the popcorn machine explodes, I apologize in advance.”
Friendly.
Friendly.
Your heart sinks. You bite your tongue, nodding. “It’s not your fault.”
Unaware of how his wording has affected you, he shakes his head. “Ah, you say that, but my luck acts in mysterious ways. To be so lucky as to spend time with you outside our classroom… the bad luck is bound to be tremendous!”
You remain quiet. Friendly. Friends. Of course you’re just friends. Why hope for anything more than that? Isn’t that silly of you? It’s Komaeda. You’ve never seen him show interest in anyone. You aren’t even sure what it would look like.
“Thank you, by the way, for making me lunch. Though I ask you to come clean about it next time.” He rests his elbow on your desk, supporting his head in his palm. “I’m far more likely to accept it that way. Wouldn’t want to put your efforts to waste.”
You smile softly.
“What time would you like to meet up?”

Day 4 - Cooking for each other
Tumblr media
You should really know better than to expect Komaeda to be able to work the kitchen without his luck interfering.
The broken air fryer sits on the counter, and Komaeda stares at the... chicken? in his hands. You purse your lips in mild amusement as Komaeda stares at you wide-eyed.
"That was new."
"I know."
"Yeah?"
"Mhm," Komaeda looks down at the food, skin flushed with embarrassment. "I'm sorry. I'll buy a new one."
"Nagi," You take the food from his hand and chuckle. "I'll take a look at it later. You wanted chicken katsu, right?"
"Mhm," He mumbles. "Sorry."
"Don't be," You hand him the burnt chicken to put into the compost, and you grab the mallet. "You did better than last time."
"Thank you," Komaeda reaches for the chamomile, filling the kettle and sitting down to watch you cook.
"Did you know this was going to happen?" You reach for the egg.
"Kind of," He pauses, fiddling with his fingers. "I thought it'd be nice for me to cook for once."
"It was sweet of you," You smile. "But we promised that you wouldn't cook, right?"
"I wanted to try... it out," Komaeda tries explaining.
"I'm not angry," You pour the oil into the pot. "I promise."
Komaeda watches the water boil in the kettle and pours the tea into the two mugs. He lets the tea seep as you slide the katsu into the oil, gloves on. Thanks to him, you had to waste so much oil for a meal... how disappointing of him.
"Nagi," You hum. "Can you get a plate for me?"
"Hm? Ah, yes!" Komaeda blinks out of his trance. "I'm sorry about the kitchen... again."
"It's not an issue," You place the katsu onto a paper towel and then the plate. "It's because of your new function on the hand."
"H-huh?"
"Bluetooth waves, I think," You grin. "Your hand has a new music function, right? Since it runs on the same waves, it tampers a little. I'll bring it to Hinata tomorrow morning so relax a little, hm?"
"A-alright," Komaeda helps you cut the katsu.
"Itadakimasu!"
As Komaeda chews on his food, he doesn't feel as bad all of a sudden.
As long as he had you, he supposes.

Day 1 - First Date
Tumblr media
Komaeda fiddles with his fingers, heart racing. Ah. He... he's dating someone now. Did that count? You agreed to be his lover, yet the worst part of him still wondered whether or not you loved him. Maybe it was a cruel prank. Maybe you didn't care about him at all. Maybe you were just using him. Maybe-
"Komaeda," You flick his forehead, cutting him out of his thoughts. "Don't think of such things."
"But... but," Komaeda stumbles over himself. You flick his forehead again, pressing a kiss to to the red forming on his skin. Komaeda turns impossibly red, matching the agitated skin on his face. Ugh. You're so cute. He's going to pass away.
Komaeda runs his thumb over the back of your hand, words caught in his throat.
"What'd you want to read?" You glance at him, and he pauses.
"I thought it'd be nice to visit... a book cafe. I'm sorry if it's boring for you-"
"It's nice," you smile. "You like reading? What's your favourite book?"
"I don't really have a favourite... but I read just about everything," Komaeda smiles sheepishly. "Do you read?"
"Oh, definitely." You let Komaeda pick a book for you, and you settle on the couch with him. The café is on the other side of the bookstore, and the two of you get comfy. You sit in Komaeda's lap, reading the story aloud as Komaeda follows along over your shoulder. He's a lot more comfortable with skinship than you thought he'd be. It's nice. His body is cool against your own, and it's a nice contrast to how hot it was outside. You thought the summer heat would melt you.
"But her commendation, though costing her some trouble, could by no means satisfy Mr. Collins, and he was very soon obliged to take her ladyship's praise into his own hands - Do you want popsicles after this?" You tilt your head back to look at Komaeda.
"Sure," He smiles.
Komaeda leans back as you read, the rumbles of your chest echoing on his, lulling him to a peace he didn't know was possible. He's tired. He wonders if you'd hate him for falling asleep while you read a classic to him. You couldn't blame him. Your voice was just that soothing.
"Komaeda?"
"Hm?" He stirs.
"You can nap if you need it," You chuckle. "It's been a long day."
"Ah..." Komaeda exhales. "Sorry..."
"No worries, love," The vibrations of your throat cause him to relax, drifting off.
