BALIPORTALNEWS.COM, BANGLI - Dalam perhelatan Konferensi Tingkat Tinggi (KTT) G20, diselenggarakan berbagai pertemuan, yang salah satunya adalah THK Future, Knowledge Summit, Intergenerational Dialogue for our emerging future. Pertemuan tersebut diselenggarakan pada 14 Nopember 2022, yang bertempat di Kawasan Kura-Kura Bali, Serangan, Denpasar. Pada pertemuan tersebut menghadirkan pembicara internasional dari berbagai negara. Pada pertemuan tersebut ditampilkan demo how nurturing computational thinking by gasing method, yang diciptakan oleh Prof. Yohannes Surya, P.hD. Pada demo tersebut terpilih dua siswa Sekolah Dasar di Bangli untuk tampil mewakili Indonesia. Kedua siswa tersebut, adalah Sang Ayu Made Tia siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 5 Kawan dan Anak Agung Kriskhananda G.P. siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 3 Kawan, Kabupaten Bangli. Pada demo tersebut ditampilkan bagaimana memelihara pemikiran komputasional dengan gasing method untuk memelihara generasi masa depan terhubung dengan tepat pada masa depan yang akan muncul. Melalui metode gasing, para siswa dilatih kemampuan matematikanya dengan gampang asik dan menyenangkan. Sehingga matematika semakin dirindu oleh para siswa. Bupati Bangli, Sang Nyoman Sedana Arta di sela-sela kegiatannya menyampaikan rasa bangganya dengan terpilihnya 2 siswa SD Bangli, dalam demo berhitung di kegiatan KTT G20. Lebih lanjut Sedana Arta mengatakan, terpilihnya siswa Bangli merupakan bukti bahwa Pendidikan Bangli sudah semakin maju. Selanjutnya Bupati Bangli berharap semakin banyak siswa yang mampu berbicara di tingkat internasional. Smentara itu Kepala Dinas Pendidikan Pemuda dan Olahraga Kabupaten Bangli, Komang Pariartha, SH., MM., mengatakan bahwa 150 siswa Bangli sudah mengikuti pelatihan matematika Gasing selama dua minggu pada bulan Agustus 2022. Sehingga yang tampil di KTT G20 merupakan jebolan pelatihan tersebut dengan hasil terbaik. Komang Pariarta, juga mengatakan bahwa dalam pembelajaran metode GASING ini anak-anak diajak bermain dan bereksplorasi dengan alat peraga sehingga benar-benar terasa dan terbayang konsep yang ingin disampaikan. Jadi yang abstrak selalu diawali dengan sesuatu yang konkrit, sehingga anak-anak dapat jauh lebih mudah mengerti dan mengaplikasikan konsep yang diajarkan. “Salah satu ciri khas lain dari metode GASING adalah anak-anak dapat melakukan perhitungan di luar kepala (mencongak) dengan cepat,” ucap Komang Pariarta.(bpn) Read the full article

Dubai, UAE: Millions of young Arabs will be provided with quality education by 2030 in an aim to eradicate illiteracy in the region thanks to a new initiative announced on Monday. Launched by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation at the Knowledge Summit in Dubai, the Literacy Challenge in the Arab World will aim to combat and eradicate illiteracy from the region. The project, launched in collaboration with Unesco, will provide the right to education to 30 millions Arab youth under the age of 18 by 2030. More details about the project are expected later on Tuesday. Unesco has previously placed illiteracy at as high as 25 per cent in Egypt and 20 per cent in Iraq. “Education is our best tool to fight ignorance and extremism,” said Jamal bin Huwaireb, chief executive of the foundation, which organised the summit.
