I made up a Backstory for Lady Bone Demon
I think we all knew I would get to this point some day.
Tumblr media
In Jttw, demons are typically animals brought back as demons, for example the Black Wind Demon, a bear. As a human skeleton demon, it’s incredibly likely that LBD was a human before she came back as a demon.
With this in mind, how did she die? LBD despises war, pain and famine of all kind, so I assume she might have died on a war front and, while I don’t think she retained memories from her life as a human, she still subconsciously hated wars.
Her body when she was the ivory lady was probably her own body, which she woke up inside of because it’s technically her corpse. The demon itself is within her skeleton, but that doesn’t mean her old body can’t be an accessory 🥳 fashion first, get ya look right
She just randomly woke up on one of those carts with all the corpses on it and was hella confused
So I feel like as a demon, she kind of became some Good Samaritan, since she looked human everyone was just cool with it. She was a seamstress and you can’t convince me otherwise. She would fashion clothes for the homeless and give fruits to travelers coming through whichever town she found herself in.
I mean she’s a little older than SWK at this point I feel like, she’s doing nice things to hold onto her sanity at the sight of the world crumbling and rebuilding itself again and again and again in a ruthless cycle 🧡
In JTTW, she was 110% just trying to poison Tripitaka and the gang so that she could eat him, but I need something to reinforce her hatred and lack of faith in the world so we’re switching that up a little.
She’s just doing her thing, giving fruits and vegetables from her garden (bc she has a damn garden. She’s giving garden.) to every traveler passing by and the monk and the boys happen to be one of them.
At this point she’s grateful to them because what they’re doing could help end a lot of conflicts and she doesn’t like conflicts 🥰
Wukong recognizes her as a demon and kind of misunderstands, thinking she’s trying to poison them.
So yeah he responds with violence.
Yeah so that was how she discovered she could take her mfing skin off when she had to wiggle out of it to save herself from being pummeled into bone cartilage
you best believe SWK got his ass kicked out of the group for beating up some random ass lady who he absolutely convinced was trying to kill them 💀
but dw they let him back in when they needed protection from the yellow something demon
They buried her damn corpse so she had to go underground to get back inside it, and then dig her way out of the grave.
And the night after all that is the first time she has ✨ the dream ✨
Where she sees herself destroying the world.
She brushes that off as just a nightmare yet, but then she starts having different bad dreams, of things like plagues and wars and you know… people dying
And damn, those start COMING TRUE??
She tries her best to change them, but nothings working??
Ooh, here’s an idea! What if she becomes and advisor and guides their emperor into being a better person?
HOO BOY DOES THAT MAKE THINGS WORSE
The emperor is the worst, why 💀 She becomes besties with the mayor, at the point the war chief, who the emperor just loves to overwork the hell out of
And she’s constantly getting precognitive dreams and changing them has proven to be impossible so that sucks
And I feel like she’s just on the last threads of her sanity when that one dream she had where she destroyed says “hey what if you just killed them all” in her sleep
And then BOOM
They’re in the middle of a crisis the very next day. She’s 100% prepared to ignore that dream because she’s still in the “the future is what you make it” phase but then as she’s talking to the emperor about handing the crisis, just imagine him doing the cruelest possible thing in that situation and that’s what he did bc i can’t think of anything
And that’s it, that is IT
This goofy mf is dead. His ass is grass.
And then she’s like “y’know what. I have tried to fix the world and these dreams have just been constantly telling me that it can’t be fixed. Let’s torch the earth, screw the environment”
But then Tripitaka and the boys come together to stop her 😒
So she peeps Macaque’s decaying corpse and decides he has some potential
SHE WAS WRONG
I assume in that box, her destiny talk was just her way of not losing her shit trying to get out
“Yup, this is all for destiny. I’ma get out of her one day, I’m a survivor, I’m not gon give up”
Every second spent being pissed at Macaque’s goofy ass
I imagine she was super nice to him fr, she was looking for FRIENDS but his trust issues really said “stop ✋🏽 You violated the law”
Presumably, her body rotted away when she was locked up because she was IN IT when she was first imprisoned, but when she was freed there was nothing but bones?? 🤨
And now she’s gotten free and
She is not very happy 🧡
because like Tripitaka said “I’m locking you up until you learn the error of your ways” because he saw that her intentions were good, but like
you know damn well he wasn’t actually gonna free her. There would have been better ways of changing her mind then locking her away and you know it 💀
what were you gonna do fr fr just show up every now and again to check on her and then leave like “Oop, nope, you haven’t learned your lesson looks like you need a little more time in your box, I’ll be back in fifty years, don’t go anywhere now teehee 🤭”
🖕🏾🖕🏾🖕🏾🖕🏾

if/when you get the energy/time to- im really curious; what kinda fuzzy friends do the newer skeles have? does pitch have a seeing eye-dog version of princess? or does ell and/or nemo have a fuzzy buddy to help with their anxiety or anything similar or in-between? spare fuzzy friend hcs for the poor, ma'am????
Well, you asked for it!
Ash (Undergloom Sans): A cat named Annie (Ragdoll), adopted as an emotional support buddy! She picked him, really, just ambling right on up to him, and it was love at first flop-over-his feet. Having a little sweetheart like her to take care of has really helped to pull Ash out of the doldrums and he loves her a lot. She’s a big-time cuddlebug, just like he is, and they definitely spend a ton of time napping together, everywhere and anywhere.
Tumblr media
Annie’s Quirks: Extra chunky (master of the ‘I haven’t been fed yet 🥺’ con), stockpiles socks and undies beneath the bed, shameless catnip junkie
Yrus (Undergloom Papyrus): He feels like he’s not as active as he should be, lots of time spent indoors doing academic things, when there’s a whole beautiful world out there that he should be getting out to see at least sometimes... He has the idea that maybe an animal companion would be the right motivation to get up and out at least a couple times a day, and Cannoli (Pembroke Welsh Corgi) is the solution to the problem! They click pretty much immediately and are just very well-suited to each other, especially as exercise partners.
Tumblr media
Cannoli’s Quirks: Loves (short) walks, rests his head on any feet that stay still long enough, must sleep in the same bed as the people and will hop/bark/cry if he can’t get up there himself
Brick (Horrorfell Sans):He doesn’t know too much of the story himself, he’s sure he was told in more detail but probably forgot. All he remembers is, a friend of a friend had a dog who had an accident...or maybe it got sick? Either way, it went deaf, and the dog was too big and unwieldy for them to try to retrain themselves. But they had a friend who was HoH, and that friend was active in the community with lots of other signing and HoH folks and could ask around about someone who might be up for the challenge of having and training a real big dog that couldn’t hear a word you said to it. That’s how Brick heard about it, anyway, and he’s not deaf but he’s big, and he figures he probably knows at least enough sign by now to train a dog. And that’s how Tiny (English Mastiff) comes to stay at his place. They clumsily work on understanding each other, it’s definitely a Process, but there’s plenty of fondness there to make any difficulty worth the trouble.
Tumblr media
Tiny’s Quirks: Bit of a digging problem, gets very excited about balloons, likes to sit near people and lean his entire weight into them
King (Horrorfell Papyrus): This one may look familiar, but it’s fate-- Doomfanger (Persian) belongs with him and could find her way to him in any universe. ...But King was a little later getting to the Surface, and wasn’t there to pick her up when she was freshly on the streets. She spent awhile longer being an alleycat, a few years of living the rough life, and one day when she’s not quite fast enough to scurry out of the way of an oncoming car, it probably would’ve been the end for her... if not for the kind Samaritan skeleton who was just passing by that scooped her up off the pavement and brought her to a vet. King tried very hard not to get attached to her, especially when it was still looking like she wouldn’t make it, but he kept moving the goalpost of when he’d let himself care about her. ‘IF IT LIVES UNTIL MORNING,’ ‘IF IT MAKES IT TO THE VET,’ ‘IF SHE SURVIVES HER SURGERY,’ ‘IF--’ and then she looks at him, with her goofy drugged up face, freshly missing the foot of her back paw so that they even match now, and... And just like that, Doomfanger has a home and a devoted cat-dad owner and anything else she could possibly need.
Tumblr media
Doomfanger’s Quirks: Likes to be raked, makes an incredible fuss when shut out of any room for any reason, very spooked by loud noises and immediately runs and hides under daddy’s bed
Merc (Horrorswap Sans): He wanted a pet, especially when things were still a little strained with his brother and the nature of his...condition...made it difficult to make friends. He was lonely and a little pal would be very welcome in his home, but he’d also really hate to curse a furry friend with the ever-present threat of being dripped on and getting nasty bone-goop stuck in their fur... Ella (Sphynx) is the workaround to this unusual problem and makes herself right at home with Merc, happy to love on him whether he’s solid or sticky.
Tumblr media
Ella’s Quirks: Has an extensive collection of sweaters that she adores (will sit by her dresser and meow until she is clothed), great sense for emotions and tends to appear whenever she’s needed, transfixed by mirrors
Ell (Horrorswap Papyrus): He didn’t choose Ripley (Maine Coon), Ripley... well, he’s not even sure Ripley chose him. He definitely chose Ella, because that pretty little sweater-wearing vixen in the window is what drove him to bust into Ell and Merc’s house and start sauntering around like he owned the place. Ripley (named before they realized he was a boy-cat) was definitely feral, with a notched ear and a missing eye, but he just keeps coming around, breaking and entering, cuddling with Ella and sharing her food, and when he one day hops into Ell’s lap and curls his big fluffy body up there... Ell makes the (possibly bad) decision to just shut the doors and windows on this mean, fat bastard and make him commit to the self-domestication he’d started. Ripley’s fickle, anti-social, and nine times out of ten mean as hell, but despite it all, Ell’s attached to the fucker. Doesn’t stop him from talking mad shit about his demon-cat to anyone who’ll listen, but y’know, there’s a weird sort of love there, between them both.
Tumblr media
Ripley’s Quirks: Hates other cats and people, with Ell and Ella as the only exceptions (Ell sometimes, Ella always), does truly heinous things to birds and rodents and even bugs if the opportunity presents itself, an escape artist who is not to be trusted around doors or windows
Pitch (Horrorswapfell Sans): Ms. Sandy Peaches (Golden Retriever) is a service dog, trained to assist people with visual impairments in a variety of tasks. Pitch, who’d long been mulling over the idea of getting one such dog, eventually follows through, and as soon as he hears her name, he’s decided-- Sandy Peaches is the one for him! He’s been blind awhile by the time he gets her and generally knows his way around things, but she’s very helpful in his day-to-day and some of the things that were moderately inconvenient to get through before are only mildly inconvenient now, and her value as a helper and a companion is much appreciated.
Tumblr media
Sandy’s Quirks: Gets excited when it’s time to put her vest on and go work, thinks the appropriate amount of brushing time is probably about three hours, loves to go swimming
Nemo (Horrorswapfell Papyrus): He found Dizzy (American Shorthair) after an accidental click led him to a local shelter’s Instagram, where they had a video of her playing and a few hashtags that explained her condition. He learned a lot about cerebellar hypoplasia, aka ‘wobbly cat syndrome,’ and when he eventually made it back to her video and watched it again... it was too late, he was already half in love with her. He contacts the shelter and after a couple weeks making arrangements, purchasing necessities, and wobbly-cat-proofing the house, he braves the outdoors to go get her and bring her home. She’s probably 100% his baby within the first hour and he loves being able to take care of her and help a kitty that not everybody would have the time or dedication to take in. The love is very much mutual and Dizzy’s tail does the ‘omg it’s you, I love you!’ tail-quiver whenever she sees him and trots on over.
Tumblr media
Dizzy’s Quirks: Sixth sense for when there’s clean laundry to be laid on, likes to hold extended warbling and yowling conversations with people, chews on anything that crinkles (keep plastic wrappers out of reach!)
Sunny (Gastertale Sans): As soon as he knew he wanted a dog, he knew he wanted to pick up one of the less adoptable ones. Skipper (Beagle mutt) was certainly that, with only two legs--one in front and one in back. Sunny had a play session with the little guy and admired his energy and how enthusiastically he played, like his missing legs didn’t even phase him. Whatever happened in Skipper’s past, he’s not letting it be his problem now, and needless to say, he’s adopted and taken home in pretty short order. No holds barred fetch and spontaneous frolicking in open fields are a great bonding activity for these two, probably a match made in heaven.
Tumblr media
Skipper’s Quirks: Tennis ball fiend (literally can never have enough), chews on unattended shoes, loves to sing (read: howl) along to music
Aster (Gastertale Papyrus): He wanted a guard dog, some big intimidating-looking thing that would look really, really cool guard the house. He finds Ace (Doberman/Great Dane), unfortunately with his ears already cropped (Aster wouldn’t have chosen the procedure himself), but otherwise a very handsome fellow and still definitely in need of love and a home, both of which Aster was willing and able to provide. He’s attentive with all the care and training his new pup needs, and when Ace grows up just as huge as predicted, looking like a cross between a panther and a hellhound, he’s become an extremely well-mannered and obedient dog, full to the tips of his pointy ears with love for Aster.
Tumblr media
Ace’s Quirks: King of naps, the worst nightmare of any strangers at the door (but very affectionate and loving once they’re in!), will tell you if you’ve stopped petting him too soon, boofing and trying to put your hand back to make you resume

THE POSITIVE & NEGATIVE; Mun & Muse - Meme.
Tumblr media
fill out & repost ♥ This meme definitely favors canons more, but I hope OC’s still can make it somehow work with their own lore, and lil’ fandom of friends & mutuals. Multi-Muses pick the muse you are the most invested in atm.
tagged by: stole it from @sternenteile and honestly others tbh tagging: TAKE
my muse is:  canon / oc / au / canon-divergent / fandomless / complicated
Is your character popular in the fandom? YES / NO. [ for better or for worse, he’s THE face of kid icarus, after all. he’s a dork and funny and likeable and even if the fandom tends to get him WRONG (thanks smash bros) there’s no denying his popularity ]
Is your character considered hot™ in the fandom?  YES / NO / IDK. [ i don’t??? think so??? most people are too busy talking about how they think he’s like 5 ]
Is your character considered strong in the fandom?  YES / NO / IDK. [ EVEN THE FANDOM AIN’T GONNA MESS THIS UP. MAN FIGHTS GODS. CALL THAT WEAK. ]
Are they underrated?  YES / NO / IDK. [ make no mistake - pit’s got fans and plenty of them but he’s so MISTREATED by the fandom. his character is a lot more complex than he gets credit for and smash bros in particular is a big reason people think he’s just Big Dumb Baby Man ]
Were they relevant for the main story?  YES / NO. [ HE’S THE MAIN CHARACTER, THE CENTRAL FIGURE UPON WHOM THE NARRATIVE IS STRUCTURED AROUND, YEAH HE’S PRETTY RELEVANT. Uprising is literally made to tell the story of a war exclusively through the perspective of a single side and Pit (and Palutena) are the EMBODIMENT of that whole side. ]
Were they relevant for the main character? YES / NO / THEY’RE THE PROTAG. [ and a perfect one at that. he’s literally a perfect protagonist don’t tell me i’m wrong cause i’m not ]
Are they widely known in their world? YES / NO. [ pit is beloved by humans... and mocked by the Gods. seen by most as a spineless extension of palutena’s will, most “respect” of any variety goes to palutena while he gets treated as a joke 99% of the time... and it’s not like Palutena gets too much respect either ]
How’s their reputation?  GOOD / BAD / NEUTRAL. (????) [ Uhhhhhh... it’s an odd one. Short answer is that Pit’s a good samaritan who’s done a lot of good BUT most of the gods think protecting humanity is a Folly and a Joke and that Pit’s just a pawn of Palutena’s and while the humans do hold a lot of respect for him, uh............. let’s just say, some humans on the surface have reasons not to be too happy with him. ]
How strictly do you follow canon?  —  about as much as I need to to respect one of my favorite video games of all time. while kid icarus uprising is a comedic game most of the way through it has a lot more nuance and depth to itself, its world, and its characters than one can see at first glance, even after a full playthrough. if you let yourself get invested in the characters, take a closer look at the dialogue it provides, and acknowledge the central, core storytelling message of the game for what it is, there’s a lot more to pull out than one would think. that being said, it’s still a comedic video game and one that I think could use some more expansion. though the game is inconsistent there seems to be the consensus that pit is like a child and I’m not into that, mine’s a bit more showing in his cynical and snarky side after all he’s been through and overall there’s a lot of expansion on the base while building it into something unique.
SELL YOUR MUSE! Aka try to list everything, which makes your muse interesting in your opinion to make them spicy for your mutuals.  —  imagine your typical bootstrapped anime protagonist. someone who, when younger, was a runt who couldn’t meet the expectations of others, was looked down on, and found himself crushed and hurt and near-killed by a great tragedy that he was forced to claw his way out of to make himself stronger. Now imagine all of that with a character who comes out still able to have a very real smile and ultimately comes out of it a self-assured, chipper goofball with a good heart. now put that together with all of the darkness and depth you would have expected to be there, but scattered realistically throughout the attitude of someone who does genuinely want to keep a positive attitude. someone who is sincerely an optimist who’s grown past his weaker days, but isn’t quite so simple as he’d like to believe. all of that combined with someone who can’t read, is willing to eat ice cream off the floor in times of duress, is extremely easy to fluster and can channel his goddess’ power to slay GODS? you got one strong man.
Now the OPPOSITE, list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?).  —  his positive attitude is what most people will see when speaking to him, because for what it’s worth, he’s not actively lying about his depth. he’s a cheerful, jovial man with a big smile and a love of the world around him - which is all well and good, but his depth is something you have to find, even if it is reasonably clear if you’re willing to look. he’s also portrayed as a bit unreasonably dumb at times, and though I personally justify the worst of it with proper explanations, I can understand reducing some of the value of the character in favor of seeing all of his Jokes
What inspired you to rp your muse?  —  i made my original pit blog, flightlesswarrior, on a total whim after playing kid icarus uprising. cute character, fun premise, why not? but over time, and with numerous plots I was able to take part in exploring the serious, not so serious, shipping, tragedy, and going back through the game to keep my muse rolling, it occurred to me more and more with time just how nuanced and interesting pit and co. really are. pit embodies many of the things i really, truly love in a protag, falling firmly on the side of good, having a heart of genuine gold, and having nuances and parts of his personality that are less than savory without making him seem like a contradiction. he’s got depth, he’s got story, there’s a lot to explore and flesh out... and he’s also just a nice, friendly guy who gets along well with others. plus, i’m drawn to dorks.
What keeps your inspiration going?  —  a) love for Kid Icarus: Uprising. a game that helped me gain a deeper and more insightful understanding of character development, subtle storytelling, optimism still tinged with legitimate and healthy cynicism, and overall something that changed my understanding of character development and storytelling forever. and b) spite. the fandom treats him like an idiot baby and smash DOES NOT help matters so i have to remind others that he is a veteran of a war, a socially inept loser with few real friends, and someone who’s kindness and optimism was shaped and molded by its hardships in a way that doesn’t require a near-breaking point or a reminder that “this guy could be evil you know” to show how someone can still keep a positive attitude in spite of all the shit life throws at him.
Some more personal questions for the mun.
Give your mutuals some insight about the way you are in some matters, which could lead them to get more comfortable with you or perhaps not.
Do you think you give your character justice?  YES / NO [ i’d like to think i have?? but i also acknowledge that he’s become something of his Own in some ways that do intentionally diverge from sakurai’s intentions. ultimately though, even though i may not play him completely true to text, i try to be as loyal as i can be to the spirit of the character. ]
Do you frequently write headcanons?  YES / NO / SORT OF? [ when i can!! but??? the problem is my mind really, really likes to reiterate the Same Damn Points i have to make with characters that draws me to them - and you know, writing the same hcs over and over is generally considered poor form?? ngl i also prefer to let the writing do the talking unless it’s something that’s not gonna show so 90% of the time pit’s open enough that all but the darker sides of his mind are lain out before you. ]
Do you sometimes write drabbles?  YES / NO [ maybe??? once or tWICE???? but i need to write more ]
Do you think a lot about your Muse during the day? YES / NO [ I REALLY DO, HOO MAMA. i have a lot of thoughts about him, his depth, potential relationships, goofy thoughts, more serious fanfic ideas im never gonna write and don’t get me started on how many SHIPS i have to think about for him ]
Are you confident in your portrayal? YES / NO [ my portrayal is made out of spite for portrayals in the fandom and some supplementary material that gets him wrong - it’s kinda hard to do that without the confidence ]
Are you confident in your writing?  YES / NO / ??? [ it’s uhh........ complicated??? i don’t think writing is my expertise, tbh. but it is the best way i have to show the passion i have for characters, by putting their nuances into actions, by allowing them to shine from who they are their core, by exploring relationships and scenarios and struggles and hope and everything that can flesh a character out. whether or not i’m a good writer is something i’m still sorting out - but i’m proud of my ability to develop a character, and to that end i feel like i’m doing fine ]
Are you a sensitive person?  YES / NO. / SORTA. [ on one hand......... very. i have a tendency to overthink everything i do and look back at moments i made an ass of myself that keep haunting me throughout my day - they haunt me. i only have two fears: what my immediate friend group thinks of me and the crushing existential weight of worrying one day i’m gonna ruin everything i am SOFT. that being said, i’m also hardheaded and stubborn and i’m not afraid to go off on someone i don’t have much respect for if it comes down to it. i’m easy to anger when it comes down to it you know i guess that proves the point huh i’m not stonefaced at all ]
Do you accept criticism well about your portrayal?  —  i try to? it’s a bit touchy for me I admit just because I do take portrayals and try to make them my own, but i am willing to listen if someone has any points they’d like to make that i haven’t acknowledged properly. if criticism IS had, lemme know, i do wanna hear it!
Do you like questions, which help you explore your character?  —   Y  E  S
If someone disagrees to a headcanon of yours, do you want to know why?  —  not that everyone who disagrees with my opinions has to explain themselves of course, but i do sincerely like the chance to learn if something i’m doing doesn’t quite feel right. even if it’s one-sided and i’ll come to disagree, i’m happy to listen! even if i don’t agree with the disagreement head-on, i like to keep them in mind and see what i can shift around to acknowledge them if necessary
If someone disagrees with your portrayal, how would you take it?  — neutral?? i mean don’t be mean about it, but if you just think my pit doesn’t seem right or it doesn’t click right with your muse i’m not gonna throw a fit about it. everyone’s allowed to view a character in their own way - and even if i may get salty about those who oversimplify him, it IS anyone’s right to view him how they will.
If someone really hates your character, how do you take it?  — agree to disagree tbh. i can’t pretend it wouldn’t disappoint me, but it’s not like, worth ending a friendship over or anything. everyone’s got their own viewpoints to run on
Are you okay with people pointing out your grammatical errors?  —  sure, within reason! i take pride in my grammar but i know that with my fast typing and often running on only a few hours of sleep some problems do slip in through the cracks. while i generally either catch them or just Die with them i’m all ears if i mess up
Do you think you are easy going as a mun?   —  uhhhhhhhhhh well i’m?? kind of a socially anxious mess honestly which DOES make being easy going a bit difficult BUT i do try and be friendly and sociable as i....... can. i’m too scared to talk to people and CAN say some dumb things but i’m not a hardass or anything!! i like to talk and Yell and shitpost and pretty much do anything but write tbh DHFLKSJDF

Tiny Viewing Guide to Star Trek: The Next Generation
Just found out one of my oldest friends, a huge sci fi guy, has never actually seen TNG, or indeed any Trek. He asked if I wouldn't mind writing a viewing guide. Not all that tiny, but the blurb for each episode is tiny. YMMV.
S1
Encounter at Farpoint - Goofy but iconic, series premiere
The Naked Now - Bad but hilarious and a little important
Code of Honor - terrible racist horseshit
The Last Outpost - first time we meet the Ferengi, they're not impressive
Where No One Has Gone Before - interesting enough
Lonely Among Us - I have no memory of this place
Justice - terrible outfits, Wesley episode
The Battle - Picard episode, not terrible

The Arsenal of Freedom - automated weaponry is bad, mmkay

Skin of Evil - dark, nasty, generally unpleasant episode, important for character reasons
We'll Always Have Paris - genuinely do not remember this one but wiki says there's time travel and that's always fun
Conspiracy - real mixed feelings about this one, it's tense and interesting TV but not really good Trek and it has huge implications that are never revisited
The Neutral Zone - Romulans are reintroduced, pretty cool
S2
The Child - pretty decent Troi episode
Where Silence Has Lease - interesting space puzzle episode sprinkled with Picard philosophizing
Elementary, Dear Data - first Sherlock!Data holodeck episode, excellent stuff
The Outrageous Okona - weeeaaaak, but kind of funny
Loud As A Whisper - cool deaf character, cringey late-80s implementation

A Matter Of Honor - Riker serves on a Klingon warship, some good stuff
The Measure of A Man - Easily a top 10 Trek episode of all time
The Dauphin - Wesley has a crush, receives terrible romantic advice from entire crew
Contagion - interesting lethal archaeology
The Royale - love this episode, it's terrible and bad science but I love it

Deja Q - good Q episode
A Matter of Perspective - let's use the holodeck to prove Riker couldn't have committed this crime!
The Offspring - WATCH THIS BUT BRING TISSUES
Sins of the Father - first of many Klingon Politics episodes, I love these with a fiery passion and my wife is bored to tears by them so YMMV
Allegiance - space puzzle, not a great one but not bad

"It's been so long since I've been to a petting zoo," (Y/n) randomly sighed, stretching her tired limbs.
Curiously, the Doctor glanced up at her with a quirked brow, "Where did that come from?" He asked with a tilt of his head.
Settling down crisscross applesauce on the floor, she glanced up at him and shrugged, "I don't know, actually. Just kind of dawned on me, I suppose."
Suddenly the Doctor jumped in the air, before skipping around the TARDIS console and working his magic, "Well, it wasn't a bad idea, was it?"
"What idea?" (Y/n) asked, barely dodging a flailing leg as the Doctor whirled by her.
"Visiting a petting zoo!" He hollered excitedly. The TARDIS landed with a crash that caused (Y/n) to bounce on the ground with a huff.
The Doctor remained out of her sight around the other side of the console for just a second, before his head popped around to peak at her with a goofy grin. He held out his psychic paper, and winked at her as she giggled at his antics.
"Plus, we can go behind the scenes!" He exclaimed excitedly. Suddenly, he seemed to magically teleport beside (Y/n) and grabbed her hand. Yanking her up he was quick to drag her out the door.
In no time flat, (Y/n) found herself feeding a couple of goats. Having barely turned her back on the Doctor for a second, she jumped with a start at hearing his sudden cry. Turning around, she caught the lovely sight of the Doctor whining at a billy goat that was currently pulling on the Doctor's bowtie.
"No! No, please let go!" He mewled sheepishly once he noticed his companion was looking. His frown deepened as the goat forced him on his knees. Uselessly, he attempted to soothe it by patting it's head as (Y/n) laughed.
Finally, after she got over her fit of giggles she walked over and traded the goat  the Doctor's bowtie for some actual food. The exchange was efficient, nevertheless the Doctor pouted for the next hour. He sulked and quietly followed behind the girl as she continued on to make friends with a pig.
After (Y/n) was satisfied with her bond she built with the pig, she dragged the Doctor over to a food stand. After choosing what she wanted, the Doctor disappeared around the corner, before reappearing with enough money for food and maybe a camel ride later in the day.
Ordering himself a soft pretzel, he joined (Y/n) as they sat and exchanged stories at a wooden picnic table.
"So, where are we?" (Y/n) asked him, before commenting, "Not your usual big, in your face trip."
With a nod of agreement, he gave a grin after swallowing a bite of his pretzel, "No idea, except for the fact we're in the United States. I let the TARDIS choose."
Snorting, she rolled her eyes, "Right. Should've known."
Once they finished, they rolled up their trash and had a mini competition on who could throw it into the trashcan better. Loser had to go and pick up any trash that either of them had missed.
Naturally, the Doctor won the friendly match with a cheer of victory. Groaning, (Y/n) rolled her eyes playfully and marched over to the trashcan. Watching her go, the Doctor smirked before turning around.
Suddenly, he spotted a nursery with an incubator in the window, "(Y/n!) I'm going to be over here, alright?" He called to the girl behind him. Glancing at her, he just barely caught her sticking her tongue out at him and snickered before waltzing off to the tiny building.
"Hello," The Doctor chimed, scaring a poor worker out of his mind. The young man had just exited the building and was heading to close the door when the Doctor had startled him.
With a cheeky smile, the Doctor quickly unleashed his psychic paper and waved it for the employee to see, "I'm here to inspect the nursery."
"Oh," The young man sighed. "Alright then."
Nodding in satisfaction, the Doctor stepped into the small, little building and allowed his eyes to wander the place, "Oh! And, also- there is a young (h/c) girl with (e/c) eyes that is accompanying me. She's a bit fiery, so I wouldn't get in her way if I were you."
The man rolled his eyes when he thought the Doctor couldn't see, and left the Doctor to his devices after muttering, "Yeah, whatever man. The mallard is about to hatch."
"Oh!" The Doctor exclaimed, clapping his hands together in excitement. Tracking down the incubator labelled, 'Mallard,' he immediately bent down to watch. A single egg resided inside, which slightly baffled the Doctor. However, he brushed it off and began to wait with his hands on his knees. The egg hadn't moved much for several seconds before softly vibrating.
"(Y/n)!" The Doctor began to holler desperately, not wanting the girl to miss it. "(Y/n), hurry!"
His eyes were glued to the egg, and his face stretched into a large smile as he noticed a small bump appearing on the single egg's surface.
"Hello," The Doctor childishly greeted the duckling before it even broke through the shell of its shelter. After a few minutes, the egg finally cracked open. The Doctor could spy the small, fuzzy being moving around inside through the little fracture.
Glancing around in hopes of spotting his companion, he was disappointed to see she still hadn't reached him.
"Where is she?" He wondered. "Can't be taking that long to pick up a bit of trash, can it?" He asked the new born being inside the shell. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed a little pink beak begin to chip and nibble away at its shell. Excitedly, the Doctor rubbed his hands together.
"There you are!" He squealed like a little boy. Suddenly, the Doctor whipped out his sonic screwdriver.
Pointing it in a gentle manner at the egg, he inquired, "Need a little help?" Then, pressing a little button softly, the screwdriver buzzed lightly. The shell of the egg seemed to fracture, and almost immediately, the little bird inside shoved it's head out and looked around. Spotting the Doctor, it began to chirp.
"Hello!" The Doctor cooed. The little bird shook itself violently, before beginning to almost wiggle its way out of the egg. The shell split through the force of the little darling shoving its way through, and the little bird tumbled out.
Flailing around slightly, the duckling's little, wet wings flapped furiously as it tried to straighten itself. Its little feet kicked around, and the Doctor tucked his screwdriver into his jacket again happily.
Huddling up into a fluffy ball, the bird shook itself a bit more and tucked its head into itself. Once it was comfortable, it stopped its random, jittery movements and took a moment to calm.
With a grin, the Doctor mumbled quietly, "I bet that was tiring, wasn't it?" The duckling glanced up at him, but stayed huddled up in its little ball.
Once again, the Doctor grabbed his screwdriver after just putting it away. Scanning the little bird, he grinned.
"A little girl! Hello!" The duckling flinched at his loud voice, and immediately the Doctor frowned and apologised softly. "Sorry."
Looking around, the Doctor pulled over a rusty, old, metal chair and sat in it. Just a second after, (Y/n) came waltzing in.
"I feel accomplished," She stated with bright eyes. "I didn't just clean up our trash, but I cleaned up the whole rest area. How's that for good samaritan?"
Chuckling, the Doctor nodded and complimented, "Good job. But I helped a little bird hatch."
Suddenly, (Y/n) frowned, "Oh. I missed a bird hatching?"
"Yup," The Doctor confirmed. "I kept calling for you."
Sighing, the (h/c) shuffled forward and gestured for him to scoot and share his chair with her. Looping arms, they leaned against one another as they watched the little bird.
"Oh," (Y/n) exhaled calmly. "She's so cute."
The Doctor pursed his lips, turning his head slightly to look at the girl, "How did you know it was a she?"
"I speak duck," (Y/n) replied cheekily, causing the Doctor to roll his eyes.
Angrily, he mumbled, "You keep making fun of me for that. I really do speak baby."
His comment wasn't received with anything other than a giggle. After a bit of silence, the Doctor and (Y/n) took some time to just converse. Once or twice, the young man from earlier popped his head in and groaned upon seeing the two still taking over the building before he would quickly leave.
The Doctor listened gleefully as (Y/n) told him some stories from when she was a child. Different stories following rabbit trails always popped up, and he would constantly have to gently remind her of her original story. He never complained, however. Instead, he simply enjoyed the lovely human trait.
After a few hours, the duckling began to hobble around on shaky legs.
"Oh," The Doctor grinned. "Isn't she a little trooper."
"Hmm?" (Y/n) hummed, looking towards him for an explanation.
With a sniff, he prepared himself for a long explanation. However, (Y/n) quickly picked up on his little tell and stopped him.
"Short explanation please, Doctor," She mumbled, voice sounding tired.
Glancing at her, he sighed before he smiled again at her drooping eyes, "It would normally take till morning for a duckling to begin walking around." He explained.
Nodding, she giggled as the duckling suddenly thumped against the glass. The little bird shook itself, hunkering down and blinked up at the Doctor and (Y/n).
"You're getting tired," The Doctor suddenly stated. Looking briefly at each other, she rose an eyebrow at him.
"What? Afraid I'll fall asleep on you?" She teased him. Snorting, he reached out and entwined their fingers.
Catching her gaze again, he explained, "No. Just figured you would prefer to fall asleep in a bed, is all. When you wake, we can come back tomorrow. See the little one up and exploring."
Humming again, (Y/n) put a finger to her chin, pretending to think over his proposition, "Throw ice-cream into the mix, and we have a deal."
Immediately the Doctor laughed, before ushering (Y/n) out of her seat. Placing the chair where he found it, he wished the duckling a good life and sweet dreams before herding his tired companion back to the TARDIS.
The moment he got her in bed, she pulled him in with her and cuddled up against him. Asleep within seconds, he found himself grinning at her soft breathing and the way her fist was curled into his coat, refusing to release him.
Allowing her gentle breathing to lull him to a rare sleep, throughout the night they found themselves tangled in each others' limbs. Sweet dreams danced in their minds as warmth and comfort filled the room.
(A.N. Not my best work. I've been thinking over how to end this for ages, and so I settled on a sweet ending.)
