While COVID19 has impacted our world in so many horrible ways, one of the bright spots in this pandemic is that the Fox Valley Knitter's Guild can enjoy virtual gatherings with some guest speakers we would never have otherwise been able to host; case in point being our Summer Fling this afternoon featuring the amazing Melanie Berg! Friday's little patch in the Arne & Carlos #quarantineknitting Mystery Knit-Along, although it is a mystery no longer! Yesterday the guys revealed that it will be a throw pillow, and also that, instead of coming to an end yesterday, the Knit Along will continue for another two weeks, because there has been such a wonderful response to it. ❣️ Arne and Carlos will continue to put out a new YouTube video Monday through Friday for the next two weeks, in an effort to help those of us who are sheltering totally alone to remember that we in the knitting community are NOT alone, and we will also have an awesome project finished when all of the patches are revealed. The pillow will consist of nine patches on each side, and mine will measure approximately 18 inches tall and 15 inches wide. I have always thought a knitted pillow would be very nice, but never wanted to take time away from knitting my shawls and cowls and sweaters to actually knit one!
