Klezmer is amazing
My mom is a piano player. She's also Jewish. She was asked to join a Klezmer band when she was younger - but it was too fast for her to play so she quit.
My family is a family of musicians so we have albums and music from all over the world and lots of different time periods and styles. So - yes, we have Klez.
I recently digitized all my vinyl albums - over 700. And my cds. About 600. And I have a jump drive connected to my stereo in my car. I also have an 18 year old son who uses my car because he's still in high school and not yet working to afford his own.
It's always funny to me to find out what he's been listening to when he takes my car somewhere. Yesterday I got in it to find he had been listening to the Klezmer Conservatory Orchestra. I didn't know he knew what Klezmer was. But - this am when I drove him to school - he was going on about how awesome that album is. (It's the Klez! album in case you are wondering.
He loves it. And as I'm listening to this anew - it's been years - yes - it's an amazing album.
Someone mentioned on Threads the idea of Beyonce doing a Klez mash up. And I'm all for that. I would love to see what she does with this given the blending of Klez and blues to form Jazz. Get on it Queen Bee.
If you haven't listened to any Klezmer - do yourself a favor - and seek it out.

Zeus, my Iron crown oc.
Hes the best friend and partner of Klez, my Iron valiant pokesona. Both are part of an evil team of future paradox pokemon from an alternate dimension, but a mishap that occurred on a mission journeying to another timeline left Klez amnesiac, and he now no longer remembers his own villainy, or any of the details of his original world. Upon reuniting with Klez in the other world, Zeus infiltrates Klez's new group of friends by pretending he's in the same situation as Klez and has also lost his memory, when in truth, he's just waiting for Klez's memories will hopefully return. While he still retains his villainous tendencies, he keeps them a secret.
