ITZY’s Reaction to Their S/O Landing Their First Major Role in a Drama
Prompt: ITZY reaction to their s/o landing their first major role in drama? Don’t forget to take breaks and drink water! - 🃏
A/N: I hope you all enjoy! - Admin Kiwi
Yeji: “See? I told you that all of your hard work would pay off!” Yeji would know better than anyone just how hard you worked, constantly trying your best and agreeing to be in small roles for the experience, but she would also know how much it hurt you when you were rejected for bigger roles, so she would understand your initial hesitation. But she would do her best to encourage you, pointing out that you fit the character profile well and that you had plenty of experience now. On audition day, she would be nervous for you, constantly checking her phone until her members noticed how distracted she was and teased her about it. When you finally called her to tell you that you got the role, she would let out a relieved laugh as a smile lit up her face, telling you that she would be over soon to help you celebrate.
Tumblr media
Lia: “I’m so proud of you, you know that, right?” Lia would understand when you were hesitant to audition at first, nervous that your lack of experience in a main role might cause you to fail or that the casting directors might think less of you for it. But she would also encourage you to try. “You won’t know unless you try. If you do fail, then I’ll comfort you. But what if you get the part?” She would be excited when you told her that you were going to go for it, telling you that she was proud of you for trying and giving you a kiss before you left for the audition. When you finally got the call confirming you got the part, she would be even more excited than you, jumping into your arms and laughing as she told you that she knew you would do amazing in the role.
Tumblr media
Ryujin: “You got it? That’s amazing, babe!” Ryujin would be excited for you when you told her that you were applying, especially since she thought you were perfect for the role. When you first told her that you were going to audition, she would help you practice your lines and would send you off the day of with a kiss and a determined “fighting!” Despite saying that she knew you would get the role, she would be just as anxious as you, full of nervous energy and unable to relax until she knew you got the role. After you got off the phone and told her that you got the role, she would wrap you up in a bear hug as she yelled her congratulations, making you laugh with her enthusiasm as she told you that the two of you had to go out and celebrate together no matter what.
Tumblr media
Chaeryeong: “So? What did they say?” She would be with you every step of the way, from the time you saw the casting call to your audition, so she would be waiting for the call with you, just as anxious to hear the results as you were, especially since she would be with you every step of the way. Once the call finally came, she would watch with wide eyes and bated breath, not daring to move until you hung up and smiled widely, telling her that you got the roll. At your words, she would deflate in relief and would let out a happy squeal as she wrapped you up in a hug to congratulate you, covering your face in chaste kisses and making you laugh and hold her still to kiss her properly. “See? I knew you would get it!”
Tumblr media
Yuna: “I’m going to brag to everyone that I’m dating a drama lead, I’m not going to shut up about it. I’ll promote your drama all the time!” Yuna would be almost as excited as you, especially since she would love watching you act, even in your smaller roles. She would encourage you to try out for the role even when you were unsure, telling you that she had always known that you would go far with your talent, and that you had to at least give it a try so that you wouldn’t regret anything. Once you got the role, she wouldn’t shut up about it, beaming with pride as she bragged about your talent to everyone who would listen, holding your hand tight as she looked at you with stars in her eyes and said that she was dating a future A-list celebrity.

3. [ Hopeful ]
“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”   ― Ralph Waldo Emerson
Solarian’s future loomed closer, and it looked brighter than ever. It had been well over a year since he’d completed his apprenticeship with the Dalaran hospital and made his way to Zandalar as a researcher. Now, the war was over, and the whisperings of N’Zoth in his head had been quelled. The nightmares that occasionally haunted him were a scar that remained, but as someone who walked the fine lines between Light and Shadow, he was fully aware that they were not real. To know Light was to know Shadow, and the delicate balance would forever be tested between them. Most who knew him would say that Solarian wouldn’t hurt a fly-- and in fact was known for his healing!-- but he most certainly knew that shadow magic could bring a threat to its knees, should he be inclined to weaponize it.
Despite being of diminutive size physically, Solarian’s mind was ever growing with its doors and windows wide open to learning new things. He was certainly in his prime. The past year had been one of discovery and growth. Working as a volunteer researcher with the Reliquary granted him access to studies on ancient plants and lichen, as well as having first hand experience with new herbs catalogued from all across Zandalar from the muddy swamps of Nazmir to the arid deserts of Vol’dun and everything in between. With his alchemical studies taking off, and he found himself concocting new versions of old tried and true potions he’d learned to make in the past. Healing through natural means was easier for him than ever before.
Increasingly, he thought about how he would apply these findings to his own future. As the youngest of the Autumnsong brood, he was paving his way in ways his siblings hadn’t, and ways he was chided for from time to time, but was nevertheless supported. Part of the perks of being the youngest was getting away with having a little more leeway than his siblings had, and he took full advantage of it. Lately, he’d been traveling to Silvermoon City more often, both to run errands for his research team and to visit his family. It was nothing out of the ordinary for him until somehow, he began to meet new people he’d never really known before. Introducing himself to others made him feel seen. It was as if speaking his aspirations out loud set the wheels of possibility into motion.
The thoughts of opening up his own clinic had lingered in his mind since his days at Dalaran, but he’d never really given it serious thought until recently. When he voiced it, one of his new friends, Abel, was there to offer up an investment if he decided to open it.
Abel was different from most Sin’dorei Solarian had met in person. They were introduced through Taedalan, a very kind paladin who seemed to enjoy baking, and who seemed like one of the most supportive people Solarian had ever met. Abel was a mage, and yet he wasn’t like other mages. There was a beautiful, unfettered femininity to him that seemed to balance in harmony with his masculinity, and it made Solarian feel as though perhaps he could learn about himself through him. He wasn’t sure how to ask, or how to even broach the subject without feeling as though he were out of line. Oh to have that kind of confidence in being oneself! In a world where most men were broad, muscled, and armored, Solarian felt like a slender reed in the wind, invisible to those whom he felt attraction toward.
There was much still to learn, but the redhead and his boyfriend Maztheric were already offering up financial and emotional support that made Solarian feel less like a tumbleweed and more like a skyward fern, suddenly watered with the sweet downpour of support from people he barely knew. Even Sandellis had been there to express his support as well, and brought up the conversation they’d had just the night before about him guarding Solarian-- something that he’d gone to bed later thinking about in a blush, to be honest.
It seemed much like a busy night, and Rennsley the mule seemed to happily eat kiwi fruit from Vokunaku’s hand. The mage seemed a little eccentric at times, but weren’t all traveling magi that way? Solarian certainly liked him! Quietly, he beamed at the new friends that surrounded him. They seemed like a mixed bag of different and yet like-minded individuals whose paths seemed to cross more frequently these days, until time eventually pulled everyone off in different directions.
Once more, he was left with just the company of Sandellis, whom he’d only known for about a week’s time. They got along in ways Solarian hadn’t expected, and he looked forward to finding any excuse to be sent back into the city just to see him and the others again. As much as he tried not to think about the Illidari during the day, he often found himself wondering about where he was, what he was probably doing, and what he’d bring him the next time they met. It seemed to be a little ritual now for Solarian to bear gifts of fruit, or little vials of mana potions.
They were beginning to get to know one another a bit more through their unexpected friendship. Solarian hinted at the way that the Light and Shadow grappled in his mind from time to time, and in turn, he learned more of the other’s abilities as an Illidari. He also learned of San’s dislike of him having left without saying goodbye. Night after night, the two would linger around Silvermoon City, or venture out into the woods for a walk, not noticing as time flew past them.
Tonight, they ventured out because... well. Sandellis was admittedly smelling a bit ripe, and he needed to get dunked into a river as soon as possible. Solarian teased him a bit, though he certainly offered him his own soap to use. For once, it seemed as though the pharmacy that was his bag was being put to good use, and he happily laid back on the grass, watching the evergold leaves of Eversong’s canopy swaying above. That’s not to say he didn’t occasionally steal glances in the bathing Illidari’s direction, however.
Conversation drifted in and out between them as it always did, but this time, it seemed as though the bond they’d been unwittingly creating pulled them even closer. Sandellis had a certain magnetism that drew Solarian like a moth to the warmth of the other’s flame, and before he knew it, his slender hands were in that thick mane of raven locks. His fingers gently raked through it, detangling it and braiding half of it loosely. Solarian wanted to feel him, especially as his lips craved to feel the other’s. Boldness overtook him in a way it never really had before when he reached out to hold San’s face and turn it in his direction.
“May I kiss you?”
His heart pounded in his chest and in his red ears as he waited with bated breath for the other’s quiet reply. Solarian simply couldn’t take a kiss. He was much too disciplined. Sol had to ask and let his intention be known, lest he be rebuffed and rebuked for it. He didn’t want to ruin a perfectly good thing with a thoughtless act, after all. But it seemed as though Sandellis was of a like mind.
“Yes.”
Solarian felt his heart soaring when Sandellis pulled him into his lap. Their lips met in a soft, chaste kiss at first, but Solarian hungered for more. The more they kissed, the more his body reacted to it, and the less shy he felt about letting his lips explore the Illidari’s face until Sandellis paused them with a confession that seemed to be weighing deeply on his heart. It was a confession that was certainly unexpected, but not one that was at all as dreadful as Solarian had been imagining in his mind. San wasn’t leaving to go off on some Illidari adventure that flirted with danger, and he wasn’t secretly betrothed to someone else. His confession was still important, however, and Sol held his face tenderly, kissing him afterward. His body was different, an obvious fact upon first look, but San meant it in ways others could not see.
Solarian offered a warm smile and brought his fingers up to trail along the ridged horns that curved up menacingly, and he placed a gentle kiss beneath each of his eyes. “You weren’t born with horns or felfire eyes, either,” he said in acceptance of every part of him. He had quite a lot of feelings about the subject that suddenly made themselves known. Solarian didn’t reduce what made a man down to his reproductive organs. A man was so much more nuanced than that, and despite his own inexperience in the bedroom, he knew that his attraction to men was more than a base attraction to said parts.
They kissed again, this time holding one another tightly. The young priest didn’t want the moment between them to end, and he didn’t quite know what this meant for them going forward, but the one thing he knew was that despite his best efforts, he was growing quite fond of Sandellis. That night, he decided to stay at the Wayfarer’s Rest in Silvermoon City once more with him, rather than go all the way back to Zandalar and nurse portal sickness. Consequences of having to get up earlier than usual be damned! He wanted to fall asleep in the other’s strong embrace where he felt safe and happy for once.
Just as before, he would succumb to sleep mere moments after his head touched the pillow, but upon waking, he remembered to keep his promise not to simply leave without saying anything. This time, he gently roused Sandellis from sleep in the early hours of morning with hands that curved along the other’s beard gently and a sweet kiss to bid him farewell once more. It would be a few nights before he was to come back, but he promised to return, and even promised to bring him something new to try the next time they met.
Even though he couldn’t foresee what the future had in store for him in several fronts, Solarian had more reason than ever before to look forward to returning to Silvermoon City.

I've been awful at keeping up with women's cricket recently, but with the world cup coming up, I was wondering what your thoughts were about the teams, and who's got the best chance.
THANK YOU SO MUCH I LIVE FOR ASKS ON WOMEN’S CRICKET
So I think the favourites just have to be Australia, they have been the best team by far in recent years and have the Undisputed Queens™ of the game in Meg Lanning and Ellyse Perry as well as the further batting strength of players like Villani, Healy, etc. Basically, their batting is hella stacked. In the fast bowling though they’re not looking quite as strong and so there’s room for teams to take advantage there. They’re the favourites for a reason, but I think they can be beaten.
As second favourites I would put England and New Zealand. England have been in transition and like any England team, are prone to collapses with the bat. But players like Beaumont and Winfield have grown hugely in confidence in the past year, and with Brunt and Shrubsole they have probably the best opening pair of fast bowlers in the game. Keeping those two fit could be the key. If there is a god, please let those two stay fit. NZ have to be in with a shout as well, particularly with batsmen like Suzie Bates and Amy Satterthwaite, Leigh Kasperek one to watch with the ball. Quite a few of them have played in county/club cricket over here too so they’ll know the conditions. I’m not an expert on them by any means though, if our Kiwi fam want to add anything? ( @maythefoursbewithyou etc.?)
Then I would put the India and the West Indies. The West Indies are a team I love, the World T20 champs and the runners up last time out. Stafanie Taylor is capable of anything. Dottin is as well. They definitely have a chance and though they’re not as strong over the 50 overs as the 20, I wouldn’t write them off. India had a relatively quiet time in the Championship and of course conspired to miss automatic qualification by refusing to play Pakistan, but dominated the qualifier. They are improving and have a strong and settled core of players, but have also changed their coach on the eve of the tournament, so who knows. It will be the last world cup for Raj and Goswami, and they will want a big send off.
South Africa are a fast developing women’s team with so many hugely exciting players who also have the potential to spring surprises, and though it would be a huge step I think they could do well. Suné Luus particularly is a player to watch out for, not least for the most dazzling smile in world cricket.
Pakistan and particularly Sri Lanka are the two teams I know the least about and are by far the underdogs. I don’t see either of them having a realistic chance of winning (I’m sorry!) but there’s no reason why they can’t spring the odd upset and it would be lovey to see more of them.
I’m sorry about the great big essay, I got a bit too excited! Just under a week to go now and I can’t wait :D

LIST: A Definitive-ish Ranking of One Direction Soloists
I was a Directioner. A bad one. Okay, maybe not that bad. While I didn’t subscribe to Larry Stylinson conspiracy theories, I do admit to going out of my way at Walmart to buy myself a tiny Liam Payne figurine. I even went as far as tagging all my Liam pics as “my sun and stars” on my personal Tumblr, which to this day, hasn’t been reappropriated to anyone else. I had posters. I went to see the movie (twice). I own the movie, still. I bought all the yearbook editions of albums (until after Midnight Memories, that was when I kinda dropped off).
But old habits die hard. Even after the five members of One Direction go their separate ways and begin their solo careers, of course, I am intrigued. Then again, I still listen to Top 40 radio so some of these guys are still inescapable. With the arrival of Liam Payne’s single last night, he completes the One Direction Soloist Pentagram, which means it’s time for me to inevitably rank them.
For the audio selections, if he has multiple songs to choose from, I simply chose my favorite, because this is my blog and what I say goes.
5. Liam Payne In One Direction, Payne always boasted the best vocal technique and laid down a stable vocal foundation on the lower end, while still sounding kind of unremarkable. Payne is a student of the School of Sinatra, as evidenced from his two(!) X Factor auditions. It's disappointing, then, to see Payne go for a painfully generic trap-influenced club track like "Strip That Down." The single has zero personality, very obviously pandering to the hip-hop leaning Top 40. Payne's always hung around the bottom of the 1D Popularity Pyramid, which I always thought disheartening considering his talent. But his debut solo effort reeks of desperation and white boy cringe. If there were anything memorable about the single (except that cringeworthy “I used to be in 1D” lyric), then maybe I could forgive him, but nothing is saving Payne here. I almost kind of want him to deliver a ballad that shows off his stable tone and technique, but until then, we're left with the so-called Walmart to Bieber's Chanel. (I can't believe I'm using that to describe Bieber.)
youtube
4. Louis Tomlinson
Let's be honest with ourselves. Louis Tomlinson has never been the shining star of One Direction. Not even close. Yeah, he was one-half of Larry Stylinson, the ship that launched a billion conspiracy theories (and apparently drove him apart from one-time bestie, Harry Styles). But, to put it bluntly, he's not exactly the most attractive member, or really the best singer. Perhaps his one-time collab with Steve Aoki, "Just Hold On," was a step in the right direction, as EDM takes a liking to less-polished voices like Tomlinson's. That said, could Tomlinson essentially become the next Matthew Koma, a sought-after EDM collaborator? Maybe, if he feels like it. It's not out of the realm of possibility for him to be Ryan Tedder-like figure either, seeing as he was always 1D's principal songwriter. Or, you know, he could always be an ITV presenter.
youtube
3. Niall Horan
As with Tomlinson, Horan boasted a remarkably unpolished voice, but it suits the kind of singer-songwriter acoustic style that he works with. Debut single "This Town" is a sleepy yet soothing acoustic ballad in the vein of his bestie Ed Sheeran, while second single "Slow Hands" has a bit more of a lo-fi pseudo-indie groove. Horan is still trying to prove his versatility, and he has it (if 1D was any indication). We have yet to get any details about an album from him, so will this spacing-out process help or hurt him? Fortunately for Horan, there's always room for white guys with acoustic guitars on the radio. He’s just gonna have to find a way to make himself more distinguishable.
youtube
2.  Harry Styles
The world waited with bated breath for 1D's most visible member to finally forge his own path as a soloist, yet somehow nobody expected teen heartthrob Styles to churn out a pure rock 'n roll album like his self-titled debut. With tunes ranging from swaggering lo-fi garage rock jams ("Kiwi"), grandiose Britpop ballads (lead single "Sign of the Times"), and harmony-rich middle-of-the-road rockers ("Ever Since New York"), Styles' debut took critics off-guard (you expected maybe Niall Horan?). If this is what Styles is giving us at the beginning, it's gonna be hard to top this.
youtube
1.  Zayn (Malik) The Artist Formerly Known as Zayn Malik, The Artist Formerly Known as Zain Malik. 1D's first to fly the coop claimed he'd take time on his first solo effort, even though he ended up releasing his debut album Mind of Mine nearly a year after his departure from the group. On Mine, Malik properly separated the artist Zayn from One Direction's Zayn Malik, laying his skillful voice over trippy R&B (lead single "Pillowtalk") and dance tracks ("Like I Would") over tracks in the vein of Frank Ocean and The Weeknd. Mine was the kind of music Malik wanted to make while he was in 1D, though the majority ruled to continue moving in a rock direction (which was apparently one of many reasons why Malik peaced out). With his newfound freedom, Malik kinda dropped off the promotional circuit, surfacing to release a Fifty Shades Darker track with Taylor Swift ("I Don't Wanna Live Forever"), and attend fancy red carpet events with main squeeze Gigi Hadid. The talent is there for Malik, but the motivation is not. To his credit, he has stated struggles with anxiety, so maybe this is the path that's best for Malik: working purely on his own terms, like he said he would. Now that's true freedom. In fact, it’s that spirit of freedom and experimentation that lands him squarely at the top of this list.
youtube
So until the members return to the fold like they promised they would, they’re giving us a great variety of music to tide us over. What do you think? Whose albums are you most looking forward to? Or would you just rather pop in your One Direction: This Is Us: Ultimate Fan Edition Blu-ray and cry? (If so, it’s OK. I’ve been there. I get it.)

Lorde Addresses Her Two-Year Disappearance From the Spotlight After Being Dubbed Music's Next ''It'' Girl
After 2013, everyone wanted to be Lorde But when you're Lorde and everyone wants to be you, who are you?  That's the question that music's "It" girl, who was a literal girl—16 years old—when her album Pure Heroine dropped in 2013, had to answer after her whirlwind debut in the spotlight, resulted in her winning big at the 2014 Grammys, curating a soundtrack to the Hunger Games and being the new sound that singer/songwriters everywhere were emulating. Recently the now-20-year-old opened up in a candid interview with Rolling Stone and in the revealing sit-down, the New Zealand native discussed what it was like skyrocketing to fame at the age of 16, taking an almost two-year break from new music and where she is now, four years after her wild ride began. Lorde Announces First Single Green Light in Nearly Two Years She told the mag: "Everyone's so crazy when they're 16. I think if you tell a 16-year-old that they're going to Mars—'We're gonna get on a rocket and go, and that's going to be your life'—they'd be like, 'OK, like, that's all well and good, but I'm doing this thing by myself right now, and that's what's important.' Everything kind of normalized week to week." Notoriety and fame is all well and good (actually, it's probably pretty great) for your first album, but what happens when you have to make another record and the world is waiting with bated breath? When you're Lorde, you walk away from the masses for almost two years, go back home, find your unique voice one more time and turn out your highly anticipated sophomore album, Melodrama... In the interview, the Kiwi also revealed that after the success (critical and commercial) of her first album, she had the classic artist's dilemma over her sophomore album: Where do I go now? "Her first album was all about being this kid," says Jack Antonoff, (whom you may also know from his bands Fun. and Bleachers, as well as being Lena Dunham's special gentleman friend) who produced Melodrama. "When your entire life changes, and you've built your career on being honest with your perspective, how do you continue to [find ways to relate]? It's near impossible." Near impossible, but not entirely impossible... Find out when Melodrama drops on June 16.

Idol: Heejin (Loona)
Prompt: A scenario with heejin(loona) where she comes to see your soccer game and affter the game you just go home and chill super fluffy(myb it can be like reader's team losses the game and heejin is trying to comfort reader at home)
Writer: Admin Kiwi
A/N: Oh my god I finally finished this. I’ve been really struggling with writer’s block as the stress of doing work and school from home has caught up from me. I know this isn’t my best work, but I hope that you all enjoy, and that you’re all doing well and staying safe!
Tumblr media
The sun was still bright in the sky when Heejin approached the field, shielding her eyes as she squinted out over the players, trying to spot you. To say that she was excited would be an understatement. She’d been to a few of your games before, and even though she didn’t really understand the game, she always loved to watch you play. The way you acted on the field gave her butterflies, and she always watched with bated breath, eyes only on you as you poured your passion into the game. It gave her inspiration, and she loved drawing you in action, because that was when you looked the coolest.
As she found a seat, she spotted you and smiled, pulling her sketchbook from her bag. You were standing and talking with your team, running your hand through your hair with your other hand on your hip, your eyes focused and determined. Even though she wanted to call out to you, she stayed quiet, watching until your team finished the talk with a chant before she called out your name to catch your attention.
“(Y/N)! Over here!”
At the sound of her voice, you perked up immediately, looking up into the seats to find her. She stood and waved, and you caught her eyes and waved in return, smiling widely as she mouthed a “good luck” and gave you a thumbs up. Then your coach called for you, so you waved one last time, mouthed a thank you, and jogged off to join the rest of your team, leaving her to settle back into her seat and pull out her pencils, eyes wide and ready to watch you play.

It wasn’t long into the game that the mood switched. Even though she didn’t know how to play soccer, she could tell your team was losing, and that you were upset. You were frowning as you ran alongside one of your team members, your eyebrows furrowed and your sharp eyes glaring at the net as if to undo the goal. A whistle blew and beside her, someone grumbled about unfair referees. She could just frown and look down at her half-finished drawing, thankful she’d finished your expression before the game turned south.
She could only cheer you on and hope things turned out for the better.
-
When the final whistle blew, Heejin could only bite her lip at the score and watch as you hung your head, breathing heavily and leaning on a teammate. This was the first time she’d ever seen you lose, and it was hard for her to see you so obviously upset. Especially when she knew that she didn’t know the game well enough to try and cheer you up by complimenting your skills. Somehow, she knew that “you kick well” wasn’t going to cut it.
Sighing, she placed her pencils back into her bag and looked down at her drawing of you. Like always, it was incredible: your expression was serious, focused, yet energetic. You loved playing soccer, and she loved portraying that through her art. The drawing was of you in motion, chasing after the soccer ball, your cleats digging into the ground and your shirt and hair flowing from the momentum and the wind. The dirt on your uniform just helped add to the realness and the drawing seemed to explode from the page, but she found herself sad that she couldn’t draw you in celebration, your eyes brimming with pride as you came to find her in the stands.
As she closed her sketchbook, your team finishing shaking hands from the winning team and slumped over to the coach, ready to head back to the locker rooms. Swallowing, she put the rest of her things away and stood up, clutching at her bag and wondering what she should say. Would you even want her to say anything? Would you want to see her? She wasn’t sure, but she still wanted to see you, so she sent you a message and waited in the parking lot until you came back, looking refreshed but still dejected.
“You played well today,” she said as you approached, giving you her best smile and holding out her arms. She really meant it: to her, you were always the best player on the field. But her compliment only made you sigh, a small, sad smile on your lips as you accepted her hug, all but slumping into her arms.
“I played my worst game today,” you said, shaking your head. “I don’t know what was wrong with me. It was like my best wasn’t good enough.” As you pulled away, you took her hand. “But thank you for staying.”
“Of course I’d stay, you’re my partner.” She squeezed your hand, wishing the right words would come to her. She hated seeing you like this. “Why don’t we go home and relax? You’ve had a long day.”
“Yeah.” You sighed again, nodding your head and letting her take the lead. “That sounds like a good idea to me. Let’s go to my place.”
-
The silence on the walk home was awkward, but Heejin couldn’t find the right words to break it. She didn’t know how to explain the way she loved watching you play, or how cool you looked even if your team had lost. She wasn’t sure how to say that the loss didn’t make her love you any less, or how to say that your playing inspired her more than anything else. She was used to smiling and telling you how proud she was after games, and listening to you excitedly talk about the plays of the game. This was something totally different. But by the time the two of you were in your bedroom, she couldn’t deal with the somber feeling any longer.
“Here, sit down. I’ll give you a massage.” She patted your chair and placed her bag on your desk, giving you a smile. “You deserve it.”
“Really?” You paused, then sat in the chair, the aspect of a massage winning over your want to dispute her claim. Your shoulders were tense, and she frowned as she worked at your muscles, then felt better as she felt you relax into her familiar hands.
“(Y/N),” she started, her voice softer than usual. “I think your amazing. Seriously. I don’t know much about soccer, but you’re the only one I watch on the field. You always look so confident and determined. I admire how passionate you are for the game, even on days like this.”
“I don’t know if I’m amazing,” you responded after a pause, leaning back to look up at her. “I can’t help but think if I had made some better decisions on the field, my team would have won. But I get into my head sometimes.”
“It’s not your fault your team lost. We all have our bad days. And if scoring all the goals for your team is a bad day, then the world doesn’t stand a chance against you on a good day!” She smiled brightly and you chuckled at her joke, relaxing a bit more under her touch.
“You think so?”
“I know so. Plus, isn’t it early in the season?”
“You’re right. It wasn’t a huge game. But I still would have rather we won.”
“I understand that,” she said with a little laugh, “I push myself a lot too, and I like perfection. But I mean it when I say that watching you play inspires me. I’m still proud of you today.”
You finally returned her smile, reaching up to catch and hold one of your hands. “Thanks, I needed this. I love you.”
“I love you too.” Relief washed over her at the sight of your smile, and she internally congratulated herself on cheering you up.
“Hey, what did you mean about inspiring you though?” You blinked up at her, slightly confused. “I mean, you don’t play sports or anything.”
At this, she flushed slightly, glancing away. “I meant that you inspire me to, um, draw.”
“Draw? Really?” You sat up and turned to face her, intrigued. “Like what?”
“Well....” Once again, words left her, so she dropped your hand and turned to the desk to pull out her sketchbook. It was a bit embarrassing, looking at the carefully drawn portraits, but she had always wanted to show them to you. She was proud of them after all. “Here, this is the one I drew today.”
As soon as she handed over the sketchbook, you let out an impressed gasp, your mouth falling open as your eyes scanned the page. For a moment, you were quiet, and she shifted nervously from foot to foot, her heart picking up in her chest. Then you looked up at her with wide eyes and a soft smile.
“This is me, isn’t it?”
“It is.”
“Wow. I mean, I look incredible. And you drew this today?”
“Yep.” She tucked a piece of hair behind her ear. “That’s how I saw you today.”
“Babe, you made me look so cool.” You looked back down at the drawing and laughed softly. “This is awesome!”
“I’m glad you like it,” she said truthfully, once again feeling relieved.
“And you do this every time you come to one of my games?”
“Like I said, you inspire me. You’re the perfect subject.”
“That’s awesome,” you repeated, then looked up at her with eyes full of affection, capturing her hand in yours again. “You’re incredible. I always knew you were an amazing artist, but this is just.... I really love them.” You squeezed her hand and pulled her closer. “This made me feel a lot better. About today and about myself. So thank you.”
“Of course.” She beamed proudly and let you pull her into your arms for a tight hug. The somber mood had disappeared, leaving the room bright and affectionate, and Heejin had never been so happy to be an artist. “I did it because I love you.”
“I love you too. You make me wonder how I got so lucky.”

PROGRESS LA DANSE MACABRE - THE GRAPS AND CLAPS REVIEW
Hello again everyone and welcome to Part 3 in the ever continuing story of the #100showyear which took me to a cold but sunny London Borough of Camden to the Electric Ballroom for the return of Progress Wrestling after a 7 week break from their huge Ally Pally show which ended with Travis Banks raising the title and Pete Dunne with one foot on the plane to Orlando to the WWE. So it was fascinating to see what would happen on this show to set up further storylines to entice the increasing mass of people to their shows.
Before the show it was time to meet up with some of the graps gang in The Ice Wharf Wetherspoons for breakfast and a couple of drinks. The lack of change from a £20 nite was noticeable after ordering 2 drinks and 2 lots of breakfast, all I can think about is that the price of Lager Shandy is expensive. Also had here was 2 pints of Pepsi Max at a cost of £1.99 each, breakfast was a bit on the lukewarm side of things but was passable.
We end up leaving here at about 2pm and moved on to the queue at the Ballroom, since the new barcoding ticketing system has come in, the queue has moved along much faster and has improved this aspect of visiting.
Arriving in the venue we saw what was some hot sauces on sale (to charity) made by resident screamer on the commentary - Glen Joseph and having tried this sauce Ive got to say it has a kick to it - strange but good touch for a great cause like MIND. I didn't happen to see Dahlia Blacks candles on sale though, certainly could do with a bit more art and crafts stuff from wrestlers on sale as there are quiet a lot of arty people in the fraternity.
Anyways lets get on to the wrestling, watched from my usual spot in Ogden Corner with the dodgy cold air con unit and I was joined by former Graps and Claps coloumnist Matthew who apart from a couple of shows is taking a hiatus from going to shows and instead he is off visiting the many football grounds around the UK and Europe. Having visited plenty of grounds in my time, i can understand why he is doing it - I just think he is a bit burnt out fron wrestling. It was also good for a change to chat to Stephen who flew over from Ireland and Simon (The Granville on Twitter).
Pre show action began at 330pm on the dot and out came the tag team of Delaney and Carter to a good reception for 2 unknown wrestlers but it was nothing compared to the earth shattering cheer that was to come. Their opponents - The O.J.M.O who had the look of a Ryan Smile and look like he had a lit of charisma just in his entrance but who was his tag team partner - the hush and tension descended and out stepped a 7 ft shadow of NA NA NA NA NA BIG T!!. The Northern section of the crowd were in raptures with this. The actual match was a good warm up match with it revolving around O.J.M.O failing to hit his moves and BIG T just tagging in and cleaning house and I liked their team dynamic. The finish came when BIG T hit the "Justice is Served" only for O.J.M.O to tag in to get the win, this was a great introduction for them to a new audience.
After the obligatory Jim Smallman opening, it was time to bring out British Strong Style who were dressed in their finest Burtons Menswear with Tyler Bate especially doing his best Val Doonican impression.
Anyways Dunne apologised for his actions as Progress Champion and was sort of saying its not goodbye yet but it might be soon. But they were interrupted by ITVs New Sunday Night Drama - The Grizzled Young Vets who distracted Moustache Mountain long enough to send them to the back leaving Pete Dunne on his own in the ring, but racing through from the fire exit near me was Joseph Connors to attack Dunne to leave him laying which has set up a potential Dunne vs Connors match very soon.
Opinion here rated from this was a good segment to turn BSS face to Bloody hell another WWE UK Guy 🙄. My opinion was a bit of the latter, but I dont mind Joseph Connors unlike others, his Southside Comedy belt has been a highlight when I have been to see them this year.
First main show match was Never Say Die & Connor Mills vs OMARI & Aussie Open in a great opener and for me it was the best match of the first half with all 6 lads looking fantastic especially the debuting OMARI who came out to a nice jazzy theme tune which even though it was no 'Down with the trumpets' it was a toe tapper. Also Mark Davis who is a proper hard man and I for one would like to see him vs WALTER one day for the Atlas title. The finish came after about 15 minutes when after a couple of combo moves from The Aussies and OMARI, Davis hit the pull up piledriver for the devastating 3 count - good stuff.
Next up was a more submission based between Strangler Davis vs Timothy Thatcher. Now this was just ok in parts but generally I dont think it worked with the crowd, playing out to large spots of silence which I did feel was a recurring theme at many times on the night. Finish came when Strangler low blowed Thatcher and choked him out for the win in 14 minutes - OK but very missable.
Next match was a Non-Title Tag Team Match with The G.Y.Vs vs Chris Brookes and Jimmy Havoc who was replacing a still injured Kid Lykos. A decent tag match but I did feel it went a little bit long near the ends with many false finishes with The Vets getting the win with the raised lung blower to Jimmy Havoc for the win.
Half Time Main Event was the big ATLAS Title Match with Wolfgang vs WALTER (Champion). This lasted around 10 minutes with what I thought 7 minutes of that was WALTER smashing Wolfgang all over the shop with chops that could make any crowd wince, if this is of things that are to come WALTER is going to make a great champion. Finish came after a dive from Wolfgang to the outside ended in a splat, the effects of that made him groggy enough to get waffled with a huge powerbomb to Wolfgang for the win - good match and hopefully this is built and built till no one is left for WALTER and then the chimes of The Flumps is heard and Rampage Brown makes his return 😉.
Tag Team action next with the newly turned Moustache Mountain vs David Starr (sadly without Joan Jetts dulcet tones due to the Casio Keyboard glitch in the Progress sound system) and Jack Sexsmith. Even with two teams of good guys this was a really good 15 minute tag team match with the finish of Tyler Bate hitting the big Tyler Driver 97 to everyones favourite Canvasback David Starr for the win.
After the match Jack Sexsmith got on the mic to thank everyone because of the year he has had only to be interrupted by the pop classic MASH POTATO ELEVATOR!!! And out popped Vicky Haskins distracting Sexsmith enough with a GIANT HAIRBRUSH for Mark Haskins to attack him from behind. Out then came Jimny Havoc for the save (what we thought) only to join in on the beatdown on both Starr and Sexsmith to the boos of the crowd.
A much needed heel turn in my opinion for both Jimmy and Mark who were treading water as whining faces over who should be champion. But the only thing I couldnt get my head around was the NO DQ match at Ally Pally and basically both of the Haskins willing to hit Jimmy with a baseball bat a few times and now they are mates?? But im sure we will find out.
Semi Main Event with Womens Champion Toni Storm vs Charli Evans. A distinct lack of knowledge of 80s hit Toms Diner was apparent here with not many of the crowd knowing that Charli's name fits into the ditty of said song. The match itself was a really good womens match but suffered a little from the quiet crowd, after a valiant effort from Evans she ended up falling to Storm in just over 10 minutes to the Strong Zero Piledriver.
Main Event time with ITS GOT TO BEEEEEEE KEITH LEE vs Travis Banks in a fantastic 20 minute match that I guess Travis will be feeling even now after being constantly chopped by the huge "Man of the Hour". After many attempts to chop down Big Keith, Travis finally hit a ring shaking Kiwi Crusher on Keith for the win to steal the Match of the Night honours.
Drinks prices - £4.90 for Camden Pale Ale.
Show done and overall a good starter to the next volume of shows for Progress with the Havoc/Haskins team coming together, Connors debuting and the Grizzled Young Vets throwing their hat in the ring for a tag title shot.
As a standalone show it was alright but WXW was far better from an atmosphere and wrestling standpoint, but do check out Lee vs Banks and the opening 6 Man for things off this show.
So thats Show 82 finished and now its on to Show 83 in Manchester for Lucha Forever - See you next time.

Could you write a holiday scenario with seohyun (snsd). List 1 prompt 10 where seohyun is the one particular about decorations and reader doesn't care.
SNSD’s Seohyun / Holiday Prompts
10. Person A is VERY particular about decorating, Person B just wants to have fun

“No wait, not there!” Seohyun’s voice rang out behind you, and you sighed, pulling down the mini wreath and turning around. It was a phrase you were getting used to hearing. “I have four of these, I want to wait to see where they would look best with the garland.”
“The what?”
“The green garland that I put on the stairs.” She pointed to one of the boxes and you nodded slowly, allowing her to take the wreath from your hand. The two of you had been decorating since the early morning hours, since it was her day off and she’d wanted to get as much done as possible. After pulling out a surprising amount of boxes (when had she gotten all these decorations?) you were tasked with helping her decorate each room. The only issue? Your decorating style was much different than hers.
“So the garland goes on the stairs?”
“Yes, and then I weave the blinking lights through it. Oh, and I put some garland on the mantle. But the garland that goes on the mantle is a bit thicker and it came with the lights already put in, so that’s how you can tell the difference.” She placed the wreath back on top of the box that you’d taken it out of and pointed to the writing on the side. “See, this box is last.”
“Ooh. Okay.” You bit your lip. You felt bad for messing up her system, but you were so used to just having fun when you decorated that it was hard to remember to read the boxes. This would be your first Christmas with her after the two of you moved in together, so you had still had a lot to get used to. “Um, what should I do then?”
“Want to help me put up the garland? Just like, fluff it and make it look cute. I already put the Christmas candles and the stocking holders up there, so just weave it through them.”
“Got it.” You gave her a salute and she laughed, sitting down near the tree.
“Do I sound like a sergeant?”
“A little bit,” you admitted with a grin. “But if it works, it works, right?”
“Right,” she said, “but just tell me if I get too demanding. I can get a little carried away since I like things to be perfect.”
“It’s okay.” You picked up the garland (thick with lights already in it) and headed to the mantle, determined to do your job right. “I catch on quick.”
The next few hours were spent listening to Christmas music as you waited for commands, not daring to touch anything in the boxes until Seohyun told you to. The house slowly began to transform, looking the same as it had in past years. For the most part, you were fine with letting her tell you where to put things.
But as the boxes began to disappear, something in the “tree” box caught your eye. It was a string of lights shaped as snowflakes, and when you pulled it out, you were struck by inspiration. The lights would look adorable in the kitchen, and you knew the perfect place to put them. For a moment, you debated with yourself before standing up and heading into the kitchen. Oh well, it wouldn’t hurt to try, right?
After you were done stringing them up, you stepped back and smiled. You’d known it would look cute. There was the perfect nook in the ceiling above the island cabinets, and now it looked like it was snowing with the little blinking lights. It added a nice touch to the otherwise quiet kitchen.
“Babe?” Seohyun called from the other room, and you took a deep breath. You really wanted her to like what you’d done.
“I’m in the kitchen! I just tried something, come look!”
“Okay….” She sounded unsure as she appeared in the door from the hallway, but as she walked closer, her eyes widened. “Whoa.”
“So I know these were supposed to be for the tree. But since the new tree already has lights, I thought I’d see what they looked like in here.” It was a silly thing to be nervous about, but you waited with bated breath for her reaction. Much to your relief, she began to smile.
“(Y/N), I love it. Those lights look so cute there!”
You let out a sigh of relief. “Oh thank goodness, I was so worried you’d hate it.”
Seohyun wrapped her arms around you. “I love it, don’t worry. I’m sorry for being so particular today.”
“It’s okay!”
Shaking her head, she smiled. “No, our decorations should be a reflection of the both of us. I realized earlier that I was being too stubborn. So why don’t we decorate the tree together, your way?”
“Really?”
“Really!”
“Awesome!” You grinned happily. “Can we use that glitter stuff you put inside the ornaments on the tree itself?”
She stuttered, her eyes widening. “I-I…. I don’t think that would-.”
“I’m just teasing you,” you gave her a quick kiss, laughing when she huffed and playfully swatted at your arm. “Come on, we’ve got a tree to decorate!” Her style would take a little while for you to get used to, and it was the same for her. But that was nothing that couldn’t be fixed over time and you were happy nonetheless. After all, you had a wonderful girlfriend and a wonderful house. What more was there to want? “I might accidentally break an ornament or two though.”
“Don’t you dare!”

P.s LOVE y'alls writing so much!
IZ*ONE’s Yena / Halloween Prompts
5. Witch!AU (of your choice) + 6. Person A accidentally charms Person B and now has to figure out how to reverse the spell
Admin Kiwi
A/N: Thanks for loving our writing, I hope that you enjoy!
Tumblr media
All it had taken was one slip-up while trying to figure out how to charm your bed to be softer to completely change your life. One moment, Eunbi was whining that you were late to her Halloween party, and the next, your lifetime enemy Yena was in your arms, declaring her undying love for you.
“Uh. What’s going on?” You stood frozen as everyone stared, just as shocked as you were. That was because you had never gotten along with Yena. She had pulled a prank on you and it had been war since then, the two of you always arguing or trying to prank each other whenever you had the chance. Now, Yena, the girl who had once jumped over a couch just to argue with you, was hugging you. And she smelt like peppermint. “Is this some sort of prank?”
“What are you talking about, silly? I’m confessing to you!” She laughed loudly, right into your ear, and normally, you would have complained about how loud she was. Right now, you couldn’t even form a sentence, stuttering as your face bloomed a deep shade of red. “I’ve always liked you!” She beamed, and your legs buckled underneath you. You knew you had made a big, big mistake.
-
It took a minute for everything to settle down, but eventually, you ended up on Eunbi’s couch, trying to explain to everyone that yes, you were a witch (to the few who didn’t know already) and yes, you were pretty sure you’d accidentally charmed Yena. It was embarrassing to explain why you’d been trying to charm your bed to be softer, but eventually everyone understood that you’d tried a new charm without knowing the consequences. Now, your bed was still hard, and Yena was clinging to your arm.
“How did the charm work if you were all the way at home and Yena was already over here?” Eunbi asked, eyeing the other girl warily. Everyone was a little unnerved: it was like watching a clone of Yena. Sighing, you shook your head.
“To be honest, I don’t know. I have no idea what the spell I used even does.”
“It’s obvious that it’s mind control or something,” Chaeyeon said from the other side of the couch, gesturing to Yena. “I mean, she’d never acted like that before.”
“It could also be a truth spell,” Eunbi countered, and you felt your cheeks heat up. Trying not to look at Yena, you nervously cleared your throat.
“The point is, there are thousands of spells out there. It’s going to be hard to find the one I used, and even then, there’s no telling if I’ll be able to reverse the affects or not.”
“There’s no need to worry, you’ll get wrinkles on your beautiful face,” Yena said from beside you, touching your face and making you blush even harder as you tried to pull away. Yujin, sitting beside Eunbi on the couch, grinned widely.
“You know, the two of you actually make a really cute couple.”
“Shut up,” you hissed, embarrassed. You couldn’t let your secret crush get out, not when you had no idea what spell you’d used on Yena. “That’s not relevant.”
“Hey, where did you find this spell, anyway? You said you were using a new spell, right?” Eunbi leaned forward, quickly changing the subject before Yujin could tease you anymore. You frowned, thinking.
“Well, I got it on this website I always use to find new spells. But if it’s in there wrong, then it might not help us.”
“There’s a website for that?” Minju narrowed her eyes, confused, and Chaewon helpfully patted her girlfriend’s shoulder.
“There’s a website for everything babe.”
“It wouldn’t hurt to try, right?”
“You’re right, Eunbi.” You pulled out your phone and leaned away, trying to avoid Yena’s lips. Nervously, you swallowed and typed in the website, not wanting to focus on how close her face was to yours. Right now, you had research to do. It didn’t take you long to find the spell (as you’d bookmarked it for later) so you held it up for the other girls to see. “Here it is. The softening spell.”
“Mollislevus?” Chaeyeon squinted at the word, and you turned the phone back to you.
“Mollislevis, actually,” you said, and immediately, the couch softened under you, making everyone yelp in surprise.
“Huh, well,” Yujin said, blinking as she stood up, staring at the couch in shock. “It worked that time.”
You stared at the phone, confusion written all over your face. “Wait, then if it works, how did I mess it up and end up with this?” You pointed at Yena, and she pouted at you.
“Just accept my love!”
“No!”
“Maybe you mispronounced it the first time? Think back.” Eunbi took the phone from your hands as she spoke and you closed your eyes, trying to think. What had happened earlier in your room? What had you said?
“Oh!” Yujin’s loud yell made you jump as she snatched the phone from Eunbi’s hands and scrolled down a bit before showing it to you. “Did you accidentally say this instead?” On the phone was the similar word mollisverus. You swallowed as you read the description on the spell. “A spell to make someone reveal their true love.”
“I-I might have.”
“Then it’s like a truth serum!” The youngest girl grinned widely. “This means Yena is really in love with you!”
You immediately felt your face flush. “T-that’s-. Listen, we need to find a way to reverse this. This doesn’t seem right.”
“It’s just making her tell the truth. And plus, it’s kind of cute to watch, I’ve never seen her like this.” Chaeyeon pointed at Yena, who pouted again. “What’s the big deal?”
“The big deal is that we need to get her back to normal.” With a huff, your face still red, you took your phone back from Yujin and tapped on the spell, going to the information page. “It has to be here somewhere….”
“We’ll give you guys some privacy,” Eunbi suddenly said, standing up and brushing off her costume. She was obvious and couldn’t lie, so you knew as soon as she smiled what she was planning.
“Eunbi….”
“Have fun!” And with that, all the girls disappeared into the other rooms, leaving you alone with Yena. Sighing, you shook your head and went back to reading through the information, your mind racing. You’d had a crush on Yena for years. At some point during the rivalry, you’d started to notice how pretty she was, and how infectious her smile was, and how much you liked her laugh. It was weird, to start falling for an enemy, and you’d decided to just push the feelings down because they’d never come to anything. But now, here you were, with Yena right beside you, apparently telling you the truth: that she liked you too.
“(Y/N)?”
“Yeah?” You were too nervous to look over at her, keeping your eyes glued to your screen.
“Do you hate me?” Oh god, you needed to find this reversal spell fast.
“No. Why do you say that?”
“Because you haven’t said that you liked me back once.” Her voice sounded sad, and you swallowed, still unable to look at her.
“That has… nothing to do with hating or liking you.”
“Then what is it?”
Thankfully, you didn’t have to answer. Your eyes landed on the reversal spell and you let out a sigh of relief, sitting up straight and mouthing it to yourself before finally turning to look at Yena. It was a bit of a mistake, because she looked adorable and made your heart race, but you pushed through it.
“Veritatereditus.”
Yena froze. Blinked. Then looked down at her arms around yours and let out a suprised squeak, jumping back. “W-what the heck? (Y/N)?”
“Um.” You knew you were blushing as you cleared your throat. “Hello.”
“When did you get here? What’s going on?”
This was going to be a pain to explain. “So, it’s a long story. But basically, I messed up on a spell and ended up putting you into some sort of trance.”
“Hey! What the heck?” Yena looked down at her hands, eyes wide. “Did you turn me into a cat or something? Because that’s totally not cool!”
“I didn’t. Actually, uh, I accidentally put a spell on you that made you reveal your true love.” You said it quickly, like ripping off a bandage, and watched with bated breath as a range of emotions went across her face. At first, she seemed confused, eyebrows knitted together, but then her eyes started to widen and her mouth dropped open. Her cheeks flushed and she moved her mouth like she was trying to find words, but couldn’t, shocked speechless.
“What?” She finally said, gripping at the couch.
“You revealed your true love.” You knew you were blushing just as much as she was, and you kind of wanted to run out of the room. But you knew Eunbi would never forgive you if you did that, so you stayed put as Yena swallowed nervously.
“D-did I? What did I say?” She asked you quietly, like she was almost afraid to hear the answer.
“That you liked me. That you’ve always liked me.”
“Oh.” She let out a groan and buried her face in her hands. “I can’t believe this, I’m so sorry, I don’t know-.”
“Don’t be sorry.”
She looked up at you. “What?”
Clearing your throat, you twisted your hands together. You couldn’t believe that you were about to say this, but…. “Don’t be sorry. Because I like you too.”
“You… You do?”
“Yeah. And I have for a while.”
“Oh.”
“Yeah.”
The two of you sat staring at each other for a moment before she let out a laugh of disbelief. “Oh my god. I can’t believe that this entire time we’ve been fighting, we’ve liked each other. We’re idiots.”
Usually, you’d argue with her. But this time, you just laughed as well, nerves finally beginning to face away. “Yeah, no kidding.”
“I’m still annoyed that you cast a spell on me, though.”
“Sorry about that….”
She grinned, and your heart jumped into your throat as she raised her eyebrows. You knew what this meant. “I have a way you can repay me though.”
With your heart pounding in your chest, you found yourself smiling too. All it had taken was a spell to change your life. But you wouldn’t say that it was a bad thing.
“And how’s that?”
“Kiss me.”

Idol: Gain (Brown Eyed Girls)
Prompt: Could I get like a Brown eyed girls street racing au? Where the prize is a date with the reader?
Writer: Admin Kiwi
A/N: It’s been forever since I’ve written anything for Brown Eyed Girls, but I was excited to get this since I love them so much! I hope you all enjoy!

Danger. It was what had attracted you to street racing to begin with, other than the fact that one of your close friends had invited you to watch a race they had set up. You didn’t race, yourself, but you enjoyed watching the races, waiting with a bated breath as cars raced towards the finish, drivers pushing them to the limit. You also enjoyed watching the drivers as they got in and out of their cars, grins wide and eyes determined, flush with adrenaline and excitement.
In their own way, they were dangerous. They were almost fearless, always the ones to suggest pushing the boundaries a bit further. They would do just about anything for the adrenaline rush, and hardly flinched at getting hurt. You had watched one girl crash her car, only to get out a laugh despite her injuries. It was crazy. But somehow, they were so attractive. All it took was a smile to make you feel weak in the knees. Just like it attracted you to street racing, danger attracted you to them.
That was why, when your friend brought up the idea of having a date with you be the prize for winning a race, you agreed without much thought. Especially considering who the racers were.
There were plenty of unimportant people who came and went. Some you remembered, some you forgot. Every race, the ranks changed. But four racers always ended up on top, no matter what. Jea, Miryo, Narsha, and Gain had all been racing since before you got there. Their cars were made for it, and, in a way, so were they. First place rotated between the four women but rarely got away from them, and you couldn’t help but be attracted to every single one of them.
Jea was loud and outspoken, with big hair and an even bigger laugh. She loved to make jokes and was usually chewing gum, and her clothes were typically askew somehow. She still acted young and would stay up late into the night celebrating her victory. Her arms were strong and she didn’t seem to care about what people thought about her. You liked that about her.
Miryo was a bit quieter, but she had a fierce look about her. All she had to to was cock an eyebrow for your heart to pound. She was hot and she knew it, if the smirk she gave when people watched her was anything to go off of. She typically wore tight black clothes and dark makeup, and she wasn’t afraid to cuss or fight if she had to. However, she was smart, and had a cool half-grin whenever she talked about the things she was passionate about that only made you more attracted to her.
Narsha was hot and a bit of an oddball. She always had some sort of strange haircut or color, and she loved to experiment with her makeup. You could spot her coming a mile away with her flashy, artistic clothes. She also had a loud laugh, though not as loud as Jea’s, and her cold look was often interrupted by her bright smile whenever she got excited about something. Her car was eccentric too, just like everything else about her. She was exciting.
Gain, though. She was the one who really took your breath away. She was attractive on so many levels, sexy and hot and mature with a cute smile that made you totally weak in the knees. Her hair was typically cut short and she looked incredible with that style: somehow, she made it work no matter what style she went for. She licked her lips when she was concentrated and walked with a purposeful strut, but softened after a win, happy to laugh, chill, and drink after the race. She’d recently taken to laying her head on her shoulder after a few drinks at the local bar and that only made you like her more.
You were head-over-heels for Gain. But truthfully, you would have been happy to go out with any of them.
-
On the day of the race, your friend pulled you up in front of the crowd of onlookers and racers, grinning brightly. You had known this was coming, but your heart still skipped a beat as you looked out over the crowd before trying to put on your best smile.
“It’s time to announce the prize for today’s race. The first place winner will win... A date! With the one and only (Y/N)! You all know then, you’ve all hung out with them after the race, and now you have a chance to date them! How’s that for a change of pace?” Your friend wiggled their eyebrows, making the crowd laugh. A couple of the racers whistled and cheered, but your eyes focused in on Gain. She’d perked up at the mention of your name and her eyebrows were raised in surprise. When her eyes locked with yours, she gave you a smile and a wink, her confidence coming back.
“Don’t get too cocky, I’m going to win this one,” she said loudly, rivaling Jea’s levels of loud as she crossed her arms and looked over her competitors. “Might as well drop out now.”
“Like hell,” Miryo said with a laugh, already fastening on her helmet. “This is one race I’m going to give my all.”
Chattering, the crowd dispersed towards their cars, and you realized you’d been holding your breath. “Whoa,” you breathed, pressing a hand to your chest. “I didn’t realize how nervous that would make me.”
“You okay?” Your friend turned to look at you, their eyes concerned. “If you don’t want to do this anymore, that’s okay.”
“No, no, I want to. I’m just not used to being in front of that many people.” You settled into your spot to watch the finish line, and your friend observed you for a minute.
“Are you nervous that Gain might not win?”
Your cheeks flushed but you shook your head. Were you that obvious? “I’m sure I’ll have fun with whoever wins.”
Your friend laughed and patted your shoulder. “Sure. Whatever you say, (Y/N).”
-
You’d never been so invested in a race before. In fact, you could hardly breathe, waiting and waiting for the first car to come around the corner. You found yourself looking for that small red and black car, the one you knew so well. No matter how much you tried to tell yourself that yes, you would be happy going out with anyone, you couldn’t convince your heart of the same thing. You looked for Gain without even noticing it.
When the familiar roar of engines grew closer, your heart began to pound. You watched as three cars flew around the corner, neck and neck as they headed to the finish line. The little red and black car fell behind for a moment and you froze, but then, with one last burst, it flew ahead, barely beating Jea’s green car through the finish line. The crowd erupted, and you let out a sigh of relief, and then a laugh, beaming widely as Gain climbed out of her car, took her helmet off, and shook out her hair, a proud grin on her face.
You’d never seen her so happy to win a race before.
The rest of the cars passed through, but you didn’t pay any attention to them. Your focus was on Gain as she walked over, running her hand through her short hair and smiling.
“That was a tight one,” you said, voice playful.
“It was. But I was determined to win. I wasn’t about to let any of those other girls have you.”
Your friend watched with an amused smile before clapping their hands. “Congratulations, Gain! You’ve won a date with (Y/N). Treat them well, okay?”
Gain’s face flushed slightly as she turned around to look at the crowd, her cute smile replaced by her cocky smirk. “This is the best prize yet, I’m not going to mess this one up.”
-
An hour later found you at Gain’s favorite restaurant with the woman sitting across from you. The cocky smirk was gone, replaced by a soft affection that you already knew so well.
“You know,” you said, feeling brave as you sipped at your drink, falling into her dark eyes. “I was rooting for you to win.”
Her face brightened as her smile grew bigger and she rested her chin in the palm of her hand. “Really? Or are you just saying that?”
“I mean it. My friend was making fun of me the whole time because I was so nervous.”
She laughed. “I’m glad I won, then.” After a pause, she continued. “I couldn’t let you go on a date with someone else. Not when I like you so much.” An eyebrow raised, making your knees weak. You were so glad you were sitting down. “Should we make this a regular thing?”
“Going on dates, you mean?” Your heart was pounding, but you couldn’t help grinning widely, watching as a slight blush spread over her typically-confident features.
“I mean, if you want to.”
“Why wouldn’t I want to?” You laughed at her surprised look, a new one you had never seen before. It made her even more attractive, and you mentally thanked your friend for this opportunity. “I like you too, Gain.” A thrill raced through your body as you spoke, and you reveled in it. Maybe this was dangerous, but you didn’t care. After all, you loved danger, and smirk growing on Gain’s lips told you that danger might love you too. “I can prove it to you tonight, if you let me.”
“I’ll let you do anything, (Y/N). Just don’t leave my side.”

With a Twist of the Wrist
Idol: Nakyung (fromis_9)
Prompt: It's OK to not working on my Halloween prompts cuz I also forgot about that after that long time XD Thx for re-doing my request again lol Anyway I'd wanna request the same thing I did last time: Witch AU! with fromis_9 Nakyung with the following dialogue: Nakyung: "Hnggg why my love spell doesn't work???" Me the human dude: "First time?" Another thanks!
Writer: Admin Kiwi
A/N: I just ended up turning this into a regular scenario. It took me a while to come up with something for this prompt but I hope you like what I came up with? Also I made the reader gender-neutral.
♡ Tip Jar♡
Tumblr media
Nakyung was by no means experienced with casting spells. Her mother had only recently told her that she was a witch, since the magic power had just started to show, so she was still learning. However, she wasn’t used to a magic spell doing... nothing. Usually if she cast a spell wrong, it made something else happen instead, such as turning a glass of water into slime instead of lemonade. She’d never seen a spell just not work before. Not until now.
She’d wandered into the local craft shop owned by her mother’s friend late one evening after school, bored and needing supplies for her training. Just that morning, she’d been working on spells with her mother, and as she went over the spells in her head, she remembered one in particular: a love spell. When she’d asked about it, her mother had shook her head and flipped the page.
“No need to learn that one, it only brings trouble.”
But Nakyung was naturally curious, and she couldn’t held it. As she neared the counter where you stood with your back to her, she pulled out her wand and took a deep breath. What had the spell been again?
“Amorem ardeo,” she whispered under her breath, twisting her wand like she’d read to do. For a moment, she waited with bated breath, only for nothing to happen. Blinking, she tried it again. Nothing. She’d half been expecting you to turn into a toad or something, but not a single thing had happened. “Why isn’t this working?” Huffing, she looked down at her wand, just as you turned around from your counting, a smile on your face.
“First time?”
“Huh?” She looked up at you, her eyes wide. “What do you mean?”
“I’m asking if it’s your first time trying to cast a love spell.” There was a playful smile on your face and she flushed, waving her hand not holding the wand.
“Um, it’s not what it looks like! I was just curious and wanted to try the spell, it’s not like I wanted you to fall for me or anything!” She knew she was blushing hard, and she only felt more embarrassed when you laughed.
“I get it. But I was asking if it was your first time because your form seems all wrong. I’m (Y/N), by the way.”
“I’m Nakyung.” She paused. Raised her eyebrows. “Wait what?”
“Well, I’m not a wizard or anything, so I don’t know for sure. But my brother who owns the place is, and I’ve learned enough from him to say that it looks like your form was off. As in, you weren’t holding the wand correctly.”
She frowned at her wand, confused. “But even if I wasn’t holding it correctly, it should have done something to you. Especially if you’re just human.”
“Ouch,” you said, putting your hand to your chest with a fake wounded sigh. She didn’t know how to respond to that, so she stayed quiet. “But that’s probably because of this.” You pulled an amulet from your shirt, and she recognized it immediately.
“Isn’t that one of those protector amulets?”
“Right. It protects me from any sort of spell. So even if your love spell had been cast correctly, it wouldn’t have affected me. Sorry.” You flashed her a smile and she flushed again.
“I-it’s not like I was really trying to make anything happen!” She sighed, looking down at her wand again, testing the weight in her hand. “I guess I’m just no good at this witch stuff. I can almost never get spells to work correctly, and I can’t even sense if someone’s human or not.”
“Aren’t you new to this?”
“Well, yes, but-.”
“Hey, not everyone is good off the bat. It took my brother three years to learn to ride a broom, and I didn’t even get the magic genes from our mom. But,” you gave her a reassuring smile, different than the teasing one you’d sent her earlier. “Now he’s great at magic and wizardry. He even owns his own specialty shop. So you just have to keep at it.”
“You really think so?” She still felt apprehensive, but some part of her wanted to trust you. “I just can’t seem to get used to the wand.”
“I mean, if you have the extra time, I might be able to help you.”
Help? A human? She wasn’t sure how that was possible. “Really?”
“Really. I didn’t get any of the genes, but I’ve been helping my brother and guests for years, and I got a lot of basic stances down.”
“Well...” She wasn’t getting anywhere on her own. It wouldn’t hurt to try. “Okay. When do you want to meet?”
“How does tomorrow around closing sound?”
“I can do that.”
-
For some reason, Nakyung felt nervous throughout the day as she waited to meet up with you. She’d hardly been able to get you out of her mind, but she wasn’t sure why. Maybe it was your smile, or the way you laughed, or her anticipation of any teasing that was sure to come, but her heart wouldn’t stop skipping a beat and her brain wouldn’t stop supplying her with fantasies about how the night might go.
She tried not to think too much about it.
When the time finally came around to leave, she grabbed her wand and some of her supplies that she thought she might need and headed for the door.
“Where are you going?” Her mom asked, raising her eyebrows as she tended to the plants near the window. Nakyung wondered if she should make something up for a second before remembering that this was a business arrangement, nothing more.
“Just over to the shop. One of the clerks there offered to help me with some spells. They said my stance is all wrong.”
Her mother let out a laugh. “They have that right. Have fun, I hope you learn something!” She waved, and Nakyung flushed from embarrassment as she stepped out the door. She could do this! She was going to fix her stance no matter what!
The night was chilly, but clear and still, and she looked up at the stars as she walked, watching her breath curl away. Determination swelled in her chest, almost making her forget about her nervousness until you opened the door and it came crashing back, making her palms sweat like crazy and her cheeks flush.
“Ready?” You asked with a crook of your eyebrow, and she swallowed before she nodded. She couldn’t back out now.
“Ready. And thank you again.”
“Don’t worry about it!”
-
It became routine to meet every time you were closing up the shop in order for her to practice her stance. For a human, you knew a lot about magic. In fact, she felt like you knew more about magic than her mother, a witch, did.
“It’s all in the twist of the wrist,” you told her confidently, pointing out the drawing in the book before demonstrating it yourself with a fake wand. “With the twist or flick of a wrist, you can change the world around you. But if you don’t get the twist or flick exactly right, you can cause disaster.”
She tried her best to take in everything that you said, despite her nervous heart and the attraction to you beginning to grow in her chest. She was there to learn, after all. She didn’t have time to catch feelings.
-
“Do you ever feel, I don’t know, weird? Because the rest of your family are witches and wizards but you aren’t?” It was a question she’d wanted to ask you since she first heard your story, and one night as the two of you packed up, she mustered all her courage to ask it. You laughed softly, as if the question brought back bittersweet memories.
“It is weird. I kept waiting and waiting for my magic, but it never came. When I was younger, I resented the rest of my family. But now I’m okay with it. I have to be. I mean, there’s a lot of hiding and lying that comes with being a wizard. My brother had to go through a lot when we were younger trying to hide it, so my life was a lot easier than his. I got to be normal.” You shrugged. “Sure, it would be nice to gain the ability to use magic, but I’m okay without it. And my family doesn’t treat me any differently. I still get to work around it here, and that’s fun. I’m happy with myself. I think being human is cool.”
She stared at you with awe and admiration and wondered if she’d be able to say the same. “I think you’re cool too,” she said, and she meant it.
-
It was impossible not to catch feelings. The two of you had plenty in common, and she loved your laugh. Every time she saw you, she found more things to like about you, and eventually, she had to just admit to herself that she’d fallen and fallen hard. What was she going to do now? If she confessed now, would it make it look like she’d purposefully tried to hit you with a love spell before? Would it seem like she’d purposely gotten you to work with her? Her worries kept her up at night, making her wonder what she could do to make the situation less awkward.
The biggest issue was that she didn’t know if you would even want to return her feelings. She wasn’t sure she could face rejection. Not after all this time.
-
The day she got her stance right and finally cast the love spell on the shop cat, then the reverse spell right afterwards, she should have felt relief. Instead, she felt her gut sink as you clapped, grinning proudly.
“You finally did it! I’m so proud of you, Nakyung!”
“You are?” She tried to smile as she brought down her wand, but it was hard. Now that she knew how to flick her wrist and follow the exact directions, you no longer needed to help her. This meant no more nights spent alone with you in the shop, laughing and talking about everything until she had to go home. She didn’t want it to end.
“I am! You don’t even need my help anymore, that was perfect. You’ve got it down.”
She let out a small laugh as she watched the old cat blink in confusion for a moment, then waddle off towards his bed unfazed. She had felt bad about casting the spell on him, but you’d reminded her that the love spell wouldn’t work on you, and assured her that the cat wouldn’t mind, since he was used to spells flying around him at all times. Sure enough, he didn’t seem to care, and she was glad. At least someone wasn’t leaving with a broken heart.
“I finally did it, huh. I guess this means the end of our arrangement.”
You face seemed to fall a bit. “Oh, you’re right. I guess there’s nothing else I can really teach you now.” The two of you stood in silence, watching as the cat rolled over and began to snore.
“Hey, (Y/N)?” She didn’t know where the confidence came from, but her feelings surged up as she looked at you, and she couldn’t hold them in anymore. She was tired of it. So, staring at the floor, she let them come out. “I like you. In a romantic way. Sorry.”
“Wat, why are you apologizing?” Your response made her jerk her head up, and when she saw your face, you were flushed.
“Um, I know it seems weird and all, since you were helping me with a love spell.”
“I didn’t think of it that way, I promise.” You swallowed, and she watched as you grew more red, glancing at the cat and then back to her. “Um, I think I like you too.”
A smile appeared on her lips and she tilted her head. “You think?”
“I-I would like to ask you on a date. If that’s okay. So we can get to know each other more.”
The smile widened as her heart skipped a beat. “That’s more than okay with me. I’d love to go on a date with you.”
It was your turn to grin happily, rubbing at the back of your neck and laughing. Had anyone looked into the window, they would have seen two people staring at each other with matching silly smiles, love-struck under the moonlight as if under a spell. But no spell was needed for this feeling she felt in her chest.
“How does tomorrow night sound for dinner?’
“That sounds wonderful. I can’t wait!”

Not Just a Rumor
Idol: Olivia Hye (Loona)
Prompt: Hey could you do loona hyejoo where false rumours are spread around the school that her and reader are dating but she hates it bc she has a crush on reader
Writer: Admin Kiwi
A/N: I’m using Olivia’s real name Hyejoo in this scenario (and everyone else’s real names too), just so everyone knows. Again, I’ve been writing things and meaning to have them up early, but then stuff happens, so I’m sorry for not being as active as I want to be. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy!

Tumblr media
At first, it hadn’t seemed like much. It had been something Hyejoo flushed upon hearing, but dismissed as nothing, because she hadn’t though that the school would care. Now, she wished she’d done something about it before, because suddenly the entire school cared way too much about her non-existent love life, and she hated it.
“If one more person asks me if I’m dating (Y/N), I’m going to scream,” she said as she slammed her locker door closed, face red with both embarrassment and annoyance. “How did this rumor even start?”
“I already told you,” Chaewon chirped from beside her with a smile, enjoying this way too much. “Someone said they saw you with (Y/N) in the library before school started and wondered if you guys were dating. And then it snowballed from there.”
“That’s dumb. I already explained that! We know each other from physics class, and whenever we happen to be at the library at the same time, we study together. That’s it, that’s all that happened.” The hall was packed with students, and some of them shot her looks, whispering behind their hands as they passed. Groaning, Hyejoo pulled her hat down further to hide her eyes and grabbed Chaewon’s arm. “Come on, let’s just get to class.”
“People are going to think you’re cheating on (Y/N).” Yeojin’s voice came from behind her, and she turned to see her standing there with a grin on her lips, wiggling her eyebrows. Beside her, Yerim gave Hyejoo a sympathetic smile.
“I hate you,” Hyejoo said, meaning for it to sound intimidating. But she just sounded like she was pouting, which made Yeojin snicker.
“Cute.”
“Yeojin, stop teasing. You know our Hyejoo is having a hard time right now.”
“Thanks, Yerim. You’re all I have.”
“So I just don’t exist, huh?” Chaewon huffed and leaned all her weight onto the other girl, making her stumble. “I’ve been right here by your side this whole time!”
“You’re hardly any better than Yeojin,” Hyejoo pointed out, trying to push the other girl away. “I’m suffering here, you know.”
“Since it’s the weekend, do you want to come over to my place tonight? We can play video games and order some pizza and then you can tell us why you hate this rumor so much.” Yerim smiled and reached out to pat the younger girl’s shoulder, and Hyejoo finds herself smiling in return despite the circumstances. Nobody could ever not smile around Yerim.
“I’d really like that.”
“Yay, a sleepover at Yerim’s! I’ll bring my new Switch!”
“I’ll bring ice cream!”
“Great, I’ll let my mom know! Let’s have lots of fun tonight, girls!”
-
Late that night, after they’d all eaten their fill of pizza and played a couple rounds of Mario Party, Yerim flopped back onto her bed and wrapped her arms around her pillow, looking down at Hyejoo who was making a bed on the floor with Chaewon.
“So, are you going to tell us why this rumor has you so upset?” Her eyes were kind, like they always were, and Hyejoo swallowed, nervous about finally saying her feelings out loud.
“Well. I’ve liked (Y/N) for a long time, but I’ve never had the courage to say anything, since we don’t really know each other that well. But when this rumor started going around, it just made me feel weird. Like now everyone knows this secret that I’ve wanted to say for so long.”
“It’s not like you started the rumor,” Chaewon said, tilting her head. “Do you think that (Y/N) thinks that?”
“Well, no. But it still feels weird! Like, Yerim and Yeojin, how would you guys have felt if someone started saying that you were dating before you actually started dating?” Hyejoo pointed at the two girls on the bed, who looked at each other.
“I feel like I would have been embarrassed,” Yerim said slowly, putting her chin in her palm. “I can see where you’re coming from.”
“I would have just confessed! You’ve already got a rumor going around, might as well, right?” Yeojin shrugged her shoulders. “I don’t see what the big idea is.”
“Yeojin!” Yerim elbowed her girlfriend, not hard enough to hurt but enough to get her point across, and Yeojin pretended to zip her lips. “Anyway, Hyejoo. I understand why you’re so upset, but it should die down soon. You know how rumors are. People are interested for a few days and then they find something else. I’m sure it will blow over soon.” Yerim gave her a smile. “Plus, you have us. We’ll help you get through this.”
“I still don’t see why you can’t just ask them out,” Yeojin muttered under her breath, but Hyejoo chose to ignore her, smiling to herself and focusing on Yerim’s words instead. Yeah, she could handle this.
“Thanks, Yerim. I needed this talk.”
“Of course! That’s what I’m here for!”
“Can we have a pillow fight now?” Chaewon asked, peeked up over Hyejoo’s shoulder. With a laugh, Hyejoo rolled her eyes and clutched her pillow close, ready to swing. She was really lucky to have friends that made her worries slide right off her shoulders.
“Only if you’re ready to lose!”
-
Monday morning found Hyejoo sitting in the library once again, looking up at you as you pulled out the chair across from her and sent her a little smile. The air was a little more awkward than it usually was, and as Hyejoo shyly smiled back, a little flush on her cheeks, she knew it was because of the rumor.
“Good morning,” she said, voice soft as she glanced over at the door, out of instinct. Was anyone watching?
“Good morning. Last time we were in here, we caused quite the stir, didn’t we,” you said as you sat down, looking a bit embarrassed yourself.
Heart pounding, she opened her physics book and tried not to think too much about the words coming out of her mouth. “No kidding. I’m kind of surprised you even came today, to be honest.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. I thought you might want to stay away, just in case the rumor started back up.”
For a moment, you were quiet, and when she glanced up to look at you, you were flipping through the pages in your textbook, face unreadable. But then a small smile spread over your lips and you looked up, locking eyes with hers. “I have a good time whenever I’m here with you. So I wouldn’t miss it for the world.”
Immediately, Hyejoo felt her face flush and she quickly looked away, trying to calm her rapidly-beating heart. What was this? Were you trying to give her a heart attack? “Oh,” she replied weakly, hoping that she wasn’t too obvious as she fidgeted under the table and pretended to go back to her textbook. “That’s good, then.”
“Hey, Hyejoo?”
She dared to look up at you. “Yes?”
“What did you think when you first heard the rumor?”
Again, her cheeks colored and she took a deep breath, collecting herself. What should she tell you? She could tell you the truth, but the truth might make it look like she didn’t want to date you. And if she lied, how would she lie? What could she even say? The question was hard, and she resisted the urge to groan, wishing she could just melt into the ground.
“Um. Well, it was kind of weird. Hearing a rumor that involved me, I mean. And kind of embarrassing, since everyone kept asking me about it.” That seemed like a good enough answer, and she mustered a smile. “What about you?”
“Kind of weird, like you said. But when I thought about it, I guess I didn’t mind the idea of dating you.”
Hyejoo choked on air. “Uh, what?”
“I’m saying that I wouldn’t mind if the rumor was true.” Your cheeks were flushed now, and she pinched herself under the table to make sure she wasn’t dreaming. “Sorry if that’s weird.”
“No! No, it’s not weird! I was just caught off guard, that’s all.” Both of you were blushing now, and she knew if anyone saw the two of you like this, the rumor would explode. But right now, she didn’t care, her heart pounding in her chest and a shy smile sliding across her features. “Um, I wouldn’t mind if the rumor was true either. That’s why I found it so embarrassing. Because I kind of like you.”
Laughing, you brought your hands up to cover your face for a moment, leaning back into your chair. “Oh my god, this whole time I could have already confessed? I was so scared that you didn’t like me!”
“I was the same,” she said with a laugh of her own, watching with bated breath as you pulled your hands away from your face and placed them on the table, clearing your throat.
“Sorry that it took a rumor for me to say this, but will you go out with me, Hyejoo?”
A smile so big it hurt appeared on her face, and she felt her heart swell inside her chest as she took a leap of courage and reached out to hold your hands in her own. She couldn’t believe that this was actually happening, but at the same time, she was so happy she could burst. “Oh wow. Yes. I’ll definitely go out with you.”
“Than can I tell everyone that it’s not just a rumor anymore?” You were visibly excited, grinning just as wide as she was as you played with her fingers, and she began to giggle. Who would have known that what started out as a nuisance would end up leading to this happiness?
“Just let me tell friends first. I’m sure they can’t wait to hear about this.”

Moving schools in the middle of high school had to be the worst thing to ever happen to you. Everything had been normal, you’d had lots of friends and plenty of club activities to have fun with. Then, all of a sudden, your parents had announced that you would be moving to a different house, and even worse, a different school. Since you didn’t have a car yet, no amount of begging would convince your parents to drive you miles away so that you could graduate with the friends you’d known for years, and you’d had to pack everything away and tell your friends goodbye. Sure, you could still talk to them, you had a cellphone and there was a mall to meet up at halfway between your new house and their neighborhood, but school wouldn’t be the same without them.
Thankfully, you’d been able to make some new friends fairly quickly. A few of your old friends knew some people here, and they liked the same things that you did, so you found yourself fitting right in soon enough. It wasn’t your old friend group, and you still felt a little anxious around them, but you had people to eat lunch with and hang out with during your free period, so you couldn’t complain too much. They also told you all of the school gossip.
Because of that, you learned about Hyunjin almost immediately.
“She’s popular and she knows it,” your new friend Yeojin hissed, pointing at the girl sitting across the cafeteria. You raised your eyebrows, staring at the crowded table.
“Which one are you talking about?”
“Kim Hyunjin, the one beside Jeon Heejin. They both have long dark hair and dark eyes, but Heejin is smiling. Hyunjin doesn’t smile. She’s cold as ice.”
“Cold, huh?” The girl didn’t seem that cold, she just seemed like she was preoccupied staring into her ketchup. But then again, you didn’t know her.
“Yep. One time my friend Yerim tried to talk to her and she completely ignored her. She’s ruthless when she plays sports, she doesn’t mind playing dirty if it means she wins. She’s the soccer captain, and I’ve heard her threaten her teammates. She’s terrifying. Oh, and one time she knocked over my paint in art class and didn’t even say sorry, even though it landed on Heejin. So yeah, she’s basically the devil.” Yeojin finished her sentence with flourish, proud of herself, and you glanced back over at the two girls. Hyunjin was now looking up at Heejin, looking thoroughly unimpressed by whatever the other girl was saying, and you shook your head, turning back to your food. Popular girls. They were always the same.
-
It didn’t happen until a month later, when your history teacher stood at the front of the classroom with a smile on her face and said those dreadful words. “I’m going to be assigning partners to work on your project for this quarter.”
You had friends in this class, but whenever the teacher said she was assigning partners, it meant that she was separating friends. With a sigh, you glanced over at Yerim and Sanha, who both grimaced back, Sanha mouthing something along the lines of “good luck” (you could honestly never tell with him) as the teacher pulled out her roll sheet and began calling out names. Soon enough, Yerim had been paired with a girl named Jiwon, and Sanha had been paired with one of his friends named Chan (lucky him), and you were still waiting with bated breath.
“Alright, (Y/N), you’ll be paired with Hyunjin.” You blinked. Stared. Refused to accept reality. And then remembered that you didn’t have a choice as the teacher continued to read out names like she hadn’t just handed you a possible death sentence. You’d never talked to Hyunjin in person, but you’d been to one of her soccer games and saw her almost get into a fight with a girl from the opposite team out of nowhere for some unknown reason, so that was enough to make you not want to be partners with her.
But again, you didn’t have a choice, and your shoulders slumped forward as Yerim reached over from her seat to pat your shoulder sympathetically, moving back towards her new partner. With a sigh, you turned around to search the room for Hyunjin, and spotted her sitting at the corner of the classroom, staring down at her lap (probably texting, just like popular girls who didn’t care about their grades did). It was obvious that she had no intention of moving over to you even though the teacher had said to meet with your partner, so you got out of your seat and made your way over to her instead, cursing everything that had led you up to this moment.
“Um, hey, Hyunjin.” She jumped a little bit and looked up, eyebrows raised, and you resisted the urge to slam your face into the desk as you sat down beside her. “I’m (Y/N). Your partner on the project.”
“Oh, yeah. Guess so. Nice to meet you.” She hadn’t been paying attention at all, had she. You glanced down at her lap, expecting to see her phone, only to see a piece of tied yarn tangled around her fingers that she quickly pulled off and shoved into her pocket. What the heck was that? “The project is to research an important historical event, right?” So she had been listening, at least a little bit.
“Yep, anything you want to research?” You asked, and she shrugged her shoulders.
“Not really. History isn’t my thing, I’m good with anything you want to do.”
“Oh. Okay.” You hadn’t really expected her to help much, but it really seemed like you were going to be doing this alone. “Um, when do you want to meet up to do this project?”
“Uhh. My free period is right before lunch. When’s yours?”
“Same time,” you said, opening your planner and grabbing your pen. “Want to meet in the library then?”
“Sure. Sounds good.”
“Cool. I’ll decide what historical event we should do and then we can get started,” you said, watching as she nodded her head and pulled the piece of string out of her pockets, zoning out once again. With another sigh, you closed your planner and looked back at the clock. This was your life now, wasn’t it?
-
You’d been expecting Hyunjin to be late to the library the next day. That just seemed like something she would do, so you weren’t surprised when ten minutes had gone by and she still wasn’t there. What you weren’t expecting, however, was for her to walk in with tiny branches and leaves in her hair.
“Um, what happened to you?” You asked, unable to hold back your curiosity as she walked up to the table.
“What?” She looked genuinely confused, and you pointed at her hair, prompting her to reach up and touch the branches. “Oh. There was a kitten in the bushes outside and I thought it was stuck, so I climbed in. But it wasn’t,” she said. You raised your eyebrows in disbelief. That didn’t sound at all like something she would do, but maybe she had a soft spot after all.
“So you like cats?”
“Yeah. I have three at home,” she said as she pulled out her notebook and shook the foliage from her hair. It fell to the library floor, and you grimaced at the mess. “I wonder if the kitten has a home....” She was zoning out again, staring at her notebook, and you squinted at her. You hadn’t expected her to be this... weird.
“I’m sure it does. Anyway, for the history project,” you said, loudly enough for her to shake her head and look up at you.
“Oh, did you decide?”
“Yeah, how does the fall of the Berlin Wall sound to you?”
She shrugged again. “Sounds good if you’re good with it.” As you opened your mouth to reply, your eyes landed on her pen. Was that a Pusheen pen?
“Um, yeah, then let’s do that,” you stuttered out, and she nodded her head, not seeming to notice anything odd about the way you spoke as she wrote “Berlin Wall” at the top of the page. With her left hand. Wasn’t she right-handed? You blinked, shook your head, and turned back to your own notes, deciding not to think about it too much. Hyunjin really was weird.
-
After some library research and an exchanging of numbers, the two of you had parted ways (after you noticed that Hyunjin had a cartoon bread pin on her backpack) with a promise to meet up again. It had been one of the weirdest experiences of your life, and you headed to lunch a little dizzy from it all.
“Hyunjin is really weird,” you said as you sat down, and Yeojin gave you a weird look.
“Hyunjin? What do you mean?”
“(Y/N) has to do a project with Hyunjin in history,” Yerim filled in as she sat down with Sanha. Hyejoo snorted at the end of the table.
“Did you guys just figure that out? Girl zones out all the time, one time I watched her almost walk into a wall,” Hyejoo said, leaning against her girlfriend Chaewon. “She’s weird, dude.”
“You got so unlucky,” Yeojin said, ignoring Hyejoo for the most part as she turned to you with wide eyes. “Don’t say she’s weird, what if she hears and beats you up?”
“I doubt that’ll happen. Did you guys know she likes cats? She climbed into a bush today because she thought a kitten was stuck down there,” you said, a little distant, and Yeojin waved a hand in front of your eyes.
“Um, earth to (Y/N). Are you okay? Did Hyunjin brainwash you or something?”
“I doubt she’s that evil, Yeojin,” Yerim said, and you looked down at your phone as it buzzed with a text from a new number.
-We can meet at my place tomorrow after my soccer practice. It’ll be lit. \(^-^)/
You stared at it for a minute. What was with that emoji thing?
“Hey, (Y/N), you listening to me?”
“Hyunjin uses weird emojis,” you said, still kind of distant, and Yeojin sighed.
“We’ve lost them, guys.”
-
Hyunjin’s house wasn’t very far from your own, and as you walked up, you could hear the sound of a piano playing, only for it to stop when you knocked on the door. The door open to reveal Hyunjin with her hair up in a high ponytail and her soccer jersey still on.
“Hey.”
“Hey,” you said, for a lack of anything else to say as she opened the door further and stepped to the side.
“My family isn’t here right now,” she said, and you could feel your cheeks heating up from the implication, even though you knew she probably didn’t mean it that way.
“Oh, okay.”
“But my mom made cookies. You want some?”
“No, thanks,” you said as you kicked off your shoes. Wait, if nobody else was home, that meant. “You play the piano?”
“Yeah,” she said, gesturing towards the piano at the corner of the living room. “Sorta. I got lessons when I was younger.”
“That’s cool, I wish I could play.”
“I could teach you, if you want.” That was not what you’d been expecting to hear from her, and you turned to her with your eyebrows raised.
“Really?”
“Sure. I mean, I only know the basics but I could teach them to you sometime.”
“That would be cool,” you said, feeling your cheeks heat up again. What was going on? Hyunjin was full of surprises, and you watched as she walked into the kitchen to the fridge and pulled out two water bottles, tossing one at you that you barely managed to catch.
“Let’s go upstairs to my room.” Upstairs. To her room. You’d never expected to hear that from her either, but now it seemed like anything might happen.
Her room wasn’t how you’d expected it to be. There were soccer trophies cluttering shelves and posters of video games covering the walls, as well as a large TV with a PlayStation underneath and plenty of games on the shelves. Sneakers of all different types lay at the base of her closet, along with plenty other sporty clothing, but a hanging jewelry holder was full of earrings and necklaces of all types. There were also tons of photos of cats, and two actual cats laying on her bed.
“That’s Pretzel, and the fat one is Toast. I don’t know where Muffin is but she’s around here somewhere, she’s the tiny one.”
“You... you named your cats after types of bread?”
“Yeah, we thought it would be funny,” she said, and grinned widely, making your heart skip a beat. You’d never seen her smile like that before, and shit, she was pretty. “Ah, we can sit at my desk. I grabbed my dad’s office chair so we can both sit here, it’s big. Unless you want to sit on the bed.”
“Desk is fine,” you said quickly, because the bed was much too close for comfort. As you put your things down, you looked around the room again. You’d never thought you’d say this, but Hyunjin was actually just a weirdo. She wasn’t intimidating at all like this.
“You ready?” Her voice snapped you out of your thoughts and you nodded, looking back at your work.
“Ready.”
Later, after doing some research and listening to Hyunjin tell you about rescuing Pretzel from a tree as a kitten, it was time to go. As she walked you downstairs, she glanced back at you.
“Hey, do you ever go to the soccer games?”
Smiling sheepishly, you shook your head. “I’ve only been to one, actually.”
“Ah. You should come to the next one. It’s a pretty big game.” She gave you a smile, and you swallowed.
“Hey, the one time I went, you got into a fight with a girl from the other team. What was that about.” Her smile fell and she shook her head, opening the door.
“Oh, she led Heejin before breaking her heart and spreading a bunch of bad stuff about her. It was all lies, but it made Heejin cry. And nobody makes my best friend cry.”
“I see.” Maybe Hyunjin wasn’t a bad person after all. Maybe she was just misunderstood. “I’ll try to make it to the game this week,” you said, and she grinned again.
“I’ll be happy to see you there.”
-
After about a week of working with Hyunjin on a history project and figuring out all kinds of things about her (like the fact that she cried over Sailor Moon, or that she could bark like a dog, for some reason) you were sure that she wasn’t actually a bad person. Just weird. And you were also beginning to develop feelings that you didn’t want to put a name to, because they were too dangerous and you didn’t want to get your hopes up. Hyunjin was much more popular than you were, it would never work out in your favor.
Still, when she looked at you in the library with that bright smile of hers that you knew a lot of people had never seen and asked if you were coming to the game, you found yourself saying yes.
“Tell me again why you’re dragging me out here to watch a game I don’t understand?” Yeojin said, complaining loudly as she followed you into the bleachers. Yerim laughed rather loudly behind her.
“It won’t hurt you to get outside more, Yeojin. Plus, that cute cheerleader you were talking about it down there today.” Immediately, the younger girl’s face bloomed red, and she turned around to hiss (completely harmless) threats at the other girl as you sat down, ignoring them. You were here for Hyunjin, but you couldn’t admit that, or Yeojin would throw a fit. Both teams were huddled at opposite ends of the field, and your breath caught as you found Hyunjin in the crowd, talking with her stern voice to the other girls on the team. She looked incredible in her jersey, and you felt your stomach twist. This wasn’t a good sign.
Halfway through the game, Hyunjin’s team was losing. It was only by a few points, but you could tell that she was getting frustrated. Biting your lip, you watched as she mopped at her face and glared at the other team’s goalie, moving back with her hands on her hips. She couldn’t be getting tired, right? You were sitting close to the field, but Hyunjin hadn’t really looked up from the game, focused on her playing. Until now. Her eyes glanced over, and as she scanned the crowd, you took a deep breath. Everyone else was cheering, so it wouldn’t hurt if you did it too, right?
“Hyunjin, don’t give up!” As you yelled, Yeojin swung her head to look at you in pure disbelief, and Hyunjin’s eyes met yours. A smile (small, but a smile) spread over her lips and she sent you a thumbs up, shoulders straightening. Your heart jumped in your heart was she moved back into the game, a new determination evident in her posture as she attacked the field. Yeah, you were so, so screwed.
“What the heck was that back there, (Y/N)? You were cheering for Hyunjin?” Yeojin’s voice was accusatory as the three of you climbed down from the stands. Hyunjin’s team (your school’s team, your team) had won, and there was an excitement that had seeped into your veins from watching the way Hyunjin had bounced back after you encouraged her.
“It’s our school’s team, Yeojin. What does it matter that I cheered for her?”
“Because she’s cold, (Y/N)!”
“She’s actually just a weirdo, Yeojin,” you retorted, and the younger girl whined, stomping her foot. “You guys go on without me, I’m going to go congratulate Hyunjin on the game.”
“Have fun!” Yerim called after you, looping her arm through Yeojin’s and pulling her off before she could whine and complain any more. As you headed towards the field, you thought about what you might say, but the words got jumbled in your head and you found yourself tongue-tied when your eyes met hers.
“(Y/N), you made it.”
“I did. You, um, were really great out there,” you said, only to end up with your arms full of a kinda sweaty, grinning Hyunjin. Normally, you would be disgusted. But right then, you didn’t really mind.
“Thanks for cheering for me.” The rest of the team was staring at the two of you, but Heejin moved over to them, clearing her throat loudly, and they all looked away. “I needed it.”
“I’m sure you would have killed it either way,” you said, and the two of you stared at each other for a moment before Hyunjin pulled away and tugged on her jersey.
“Hey, would you want to go to a cat cafe with me? I mean, I don’t really like coffee or anything, but they have tea, and cats, and I’ve heard they have some good breads and things there too, so there’s something for everyone. And if you don’t want to go, that’s okay-.”
“I’d love to, Hyunjin,” you said, cutting off her babbling with a smile. “That sounds amazing.” The grin came back to her lips and she put her hands on her hips.
“Cool. Super cool. Awesome. Um, you want to come out with the rest of the team to celebrate? I guess I could have asked you that earlier.”
With a laugh, you nodded your head. Hyunjin was weird, a little bit awkward, and a lot bit dorky, but that was why you liked her so much. So you’d have it no other way. Even if Yeojin was definitely going to interrogate you tomorrow. “I’ll come along. You should probably go meet your team, though, they’re glaring daggers over here waiting for you.”
“Oh! Right! Um, I’ll be back in a minute. Don’t go anywhere!” Like you were going to leave now.
“Don’t worry, I’ll wait for you right here.”
