Love that after being silent for the longest time KH decided to break it by being like:

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO RE:CODED ! ! !

And a lot of people are like 😐

Cause they wanted KH4 or ML news

Me personally: It's the funniest thing and Re:Coded actually is somewhat important to the plot of the series when it includes events in KH3 and Mobile games.

RC introduces more of the data worlds concept where people can go into it. And it shows more of this mechanic and like it's fantasy thing that happens in KH just like how there is magic and Keyblades in KH, this is another part of the world building.

It also shows to help Sora be able to face hurt and pain probably because in 3 he sees people get separated and then must go through separation himself when he lands in Quadratum. It also shows that Maleficent is remembering her time in the mobile games by going in the data world and she remembers the book of prophecies.
