Day24 #30daychallenge A pair of Zebra finches have appeared in my commission...a couple Rob's birds singing in background. Commissions for any artist can be hard but this one has definitely taken me on a journey. As I continue to find places within the art to re- work. I feel that this place has come to life on it's own. The ideas and places which first inspired this artwork seem to have disappeared into another world. One lady said when view it for the first time' she just wanted to lay down here and rest.' What a lovely thought. I too would love to escape into this landscape and disappear for awhile. Finally I feel that this journey is almost done. I still have to drop in a blue fairy wren and a Willie wagtail and I think some butterflies and bees. Stay tuned for final outcome. Will share in next few days. There is such a joy in creating a world on canvas as well as relief and a little melancholy... 'Sanctuary '#installation #kimmancini #kimmanciniart This scuplture is now on exhibit at Gympie ART Gallery as part of 'Arboreal Connections 'with #carteblancheart This body of work was inspired by the Ficus trees in Prince Edward pde REDCLIFFE. Often referred to as 'Cathedral walk.' This work is created uses thousands of hand cut tea bags. The archs represent the connection between the canopy of light from the leaves above and connect with the sanctuary of the church. The connect to Sunday afternoon walks under these canopies ,the beautiful light reflected in the canopy and a connect with mother earth and heaven above.
