An update
I know I said I was gonna try to be more active on here but life kinda got in the way.
As many of you probably know, there was a devastating wildfire that tore through the island of Maui in Hawai'i leaving billions of dollars in damage, many people without homes, businesses destroyed and as of now over 100 people dead.
I made several trips in the aftermath of the fire between the West Coast and Kahului as part of my airline's decision to send aid and evacuate people from the island.
All in all, I've made about 7 round trip flights between San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Kahului helping as many people as possible get aid that they need and, trying to evacuate as many people as possible.
I'm back for the time being with a few days before resuming a normal flight schedule, so I hope to be back to constantly obsessing over Tarlos (as per usual), writing more of my fic (I'm currently at a little over 100 pages!), and watching and rewatching the "Red, White, and Royal Blue" movie!

Aww thanks! I have been very quiet for all of hiatus but it was premiere day so I am back.
And the only people I am mad at live in the writers room and on the producing team (and occasionally Owen Strand).
But you know…*shrugs* I am a Tarlos stan and I will defend both of them equally under the laws of TV.

Alright, because I’m curious: what’s your favorite Tarlos moment? It can be a big thing like the proposal or a small thing like they way they cuddled on the couch watching tv.
Hey! I love this question. While I absolutely loved the proposal because it was so beautiful and touching, my favorite Tarlos moment is the dinner scene.
I love this moment, this conversation so much. I'm a lot like Carlos and I want to take care of the people I love and when I can't help them I internalize it. I wonder what's wrong with me that I can't help them in their time of need. I want to be that person for the people I care about. I want people to be able to turn to me. And it can be hard to accept that I can't always be that person.
This moment means a lot to me. It was a build up of several conversations that should have happened before, but it happened then and it was a good conversation. I think some people see it as a fight, or I've seen some people refer to it as that, but I don't see it that way. There was a lot both of them had to say and needed to say and they did that.
I love the way they interact, how TK sees and knows immediately that something is wrong. I love how TK allowed Carlos to talk, to say how he feels and responds but doesn't allow Carlos to make TK's addiction about him.
It's hard to be told that you can't always be the person who your loved ones turn to, that they need people outside of you. I know how Carlos feels at that moment. And I know that while it's a struggle, and hurts, it's also the moment he can realize that TK isn't keeping him out of things on purpose. That TK is doing what he needs to do in order to survive and not put the burden solely on Carlos.
I just really love the scene so much. This entire episode is by far one of my favorites.

thanks @suseagull04 and @hippolotamus for the tease tuesday tag 💜 here's some first-time-sleeping-over shenanigans in a s1 canon divergence (maybe?) that owen definitely isn't going to interrupt...
One minute, he’s staring at TK’s adorable, sleeping face, stuck between wanting to kiss him silly and avoid waking him up. The next, he’s apparently fallen asleep. He only knows this because he wakes at seven a.m., completely disoriented and with a human octopus still attached to his side.
“TK,” he whispers, kissing TK’s forehead in an attempt to wrangle his arm back. It has terrible pins and needles. “TK, baby.”
TK snuffles and turns, pulling the comforter over his head. “It’s too early,” he whines, which is when Carlos realises that his new boyfriend is definitely not a morning person.
“I realise that,” Carlos says, trying not to panic as the red numbers on TK’s old school alarm clock flick over to 7:01. “But I accidentally fell asleep here and I have no clean clothes. Also, your dad is home now, right?”
“It’s okay,” TK slurs. “My dad loves you.”
“Your dad likes me as Officer Reyes,” Carlos points out, “the respectable, law-abiding cop who definitely isn’t having sex with his son.”
“Mm, no,” TK mumbles, shuffling again so that he’s on his stomach, his hand curling protectively over Carlos’ hip, brushing dangerously close to his c*ck. “He wouldn’t have a problem with that.”
“TK—”
“I’m serious,” TK insists, opening his eyes and staring blearily up at Carlos. “My dad has been trying to get me to ask you out for weeks. He’ll see this as a personal achievement.”

WIP Wednesday

This is from the upcoming chapter of my TK and Sophie fic -
2011 -
From the time they went down the stairs and the elevator to Owen’s apartment, he didn’t let go of his son the entire time. Once TK was sat on the couch and Owen called his mother to let her know that yes, TK was safe and no, he didn’t go through with it, he kept his free hand on his son’s head to make sure he was still there.
TK didn’t really blame him; he knew from his dad’s half of the conversation that his mom was on her way. After he got off the phone, his dad came and sat with him on the couch, one arm curled protectively around his son.
Neither of them said much; under other circumstances, TK would’ve made a joke about how he finally figured out how to render Owen Strand speechless.
But he couldn't make that joke now.
There were lots of things that were popping into TK’s head to say; trying to laugh it off, deny it, say that this was all a misunderstanding — but he couldn’t bring himself to voice any of it out loud. It’d all be lies, and if there was one thing TK was certain of, it was that this time, his dad would know they’d all be lies.
They sat on the couch in silence until there was a frantic knock at the door.
“That’s going to be your mom,” Owen said softly. TK nodded and got off the couch and went to the door. He had barely opened it halfway when his mother threw her arms around him.
“My baby,” she said softly as she stroked the back of his head. “Oh, my sweet boy”.
“Hi, Mom,” TK said as she squeezed him. “I’m sorry I left… and about…” he didn’t want to finish that sentence. When she released him, he said, “Were you crying?” Immediately after the words left his mouth, he kicked himself for how stupid that was.
But he really wasn't used to seeing his mother cry.
Gwyn blinked. “TK, I didn’t know until I laid eyes on you if you were alive. After that phone call…” she sighed. “Well, I’ve never been more scared”.
"That makes two of us," Owen added.

It’s lunchtime before Carlos says anything. He’s wolfed down half of his chicken fajita in two bites and is wiping sauce off his face when he notices Lexi watching him. Her seared steak salad is barely touched, a forkful of lettuce and peppers suspended in the air as she eyes him suspiciously across the picnic table.
“Sorry,” he mumbles sheepishly, “I spilled my coffee this morning and had to skip breakfast to change. I’m a little hungry.”
She doesn’t react, seemingly happy to sacrifice her meal and time for a better explanation. It’s maddening the way she can make him feel like a much younger version of himself, about to be interrogated by one of his tias with just one look; and yet he can’t help but feel a surge of warmth at the reminder that Lexi cares about him enough to dig below the surface.
Carlos shakes his head, lowering it with a small, cautious smile. “I met someone,” he admits.

A section from chapter 1 of Flashback Fic - which I'm aiming to start posting on either 11th or 12th November! We'll see! Hopefully only a month's time, anyway!
Here, our heroes are feeling a little tense...
Softly instructed by TK, Carlos takes a seat over in the darkest corner of the bar and near to a fire exit, while TK orders two Cokes. Usually, Carlos would have an ale in such a place, but he’s nauseated.
He sits at the round wooden table, which is the same dark wood as the walls, floor and ceiling. The place is styled to look like somewhere in the Bavarian alps, but it makes Carlos feel like he’s in a coffin that also contains a billiard table and two slovenly drunks at the bar arguing over the superiority of pistachios versus salted peanuts.
TK joins Carlos with their Cokes, ice clinking loudly in the glasses, and a pre-empted bottled beer for their guest.
“I asked for a slice of lemon each,” he says quietly, handing Carlos’ Coke over, “And the barman said this isn’t a gay bar, you know. So, I think we need to be careful.”
Contrary to what he just said, TK sits next to Carlos instead of opposite him, and holds his hand under the table.
“He’s late,” Carlos says, checking his watch for the eighth time since they entered, and then glares at the door like the door itself has any control over who enters or exits.
“You think everyone’s late when they haven’t arrived after two minutes.”
“Well, technically I’m not wrong about that, am I?” Carlos grumbles.
“All right, Poindexter.”
“We are not about to have our first fight as husbands here and now, TK.”
“Babe, we had a fight on our wedding night.”
“No we didn’t.”
“Yes we did.”
“We disagreed over who should be the big spoon, yet again.”
“You got quite upset about it, baby.”
“I was tired.”
“I know. Which is why I should have been the big spoon,” TK says firmly.
Carlos pulls a face and takes a deep breath like he’s about to launch into a tirade about his rightful big spoonness, when the door swings open on its creaking hinge.

HI FRIEND. 2, 10, and 11 🩵
HI FRIEND IM SO GLAD YOU ASKED! These are all from my big WIP AU called "Take My Breath Away" which I've posted a sneak preview on here before, but hope to have finished later this year.
2. Give the first line of this chapter/fic
I've decided to give you chapter 5:
When TK walked into the room, he was expecting to meet a room full of cocky fighter pilots just like himself. He was expecting to meet their instructors, determined to ensure that they kept their student’s egos in check. What he definitely did not expect, was to immediately see the face of his quick bar hookup from the previous night. Admittedly, it was a handsome face, and that TK could appreciate. Hell anyone with half of a brain could appreciate it.
10. What is the last line of dialogue you've written?
Added some more context:
“I really thought he left us,” said Mateo. “Then he just came out of nowhere.”
“Yeah,” Nancy agreed. “It should be us who got taken out first. Not him.”
“You gotta admit he’s a good pilot,” Paul added, impressed. “Seriously, some of those moves were crazy.”
“You’re right,” Marjan interjected from behind them all. “You didn’t go down first. And now you know something about who TK is as a pilot.”
11. What scene are you most hyped about?
I haven't written it yet but it's coming soon. I'm so excited to write the scene where TK realizes that he does actually want to be with Carlos. It comes after a very dramatic and intense scene involving a bird strike on a plane and someone having to eject and, someone having to run down the halls of a hospital to find the other, not knowing if they are hurt or even alive.

Warm Mocha - Both of these vibes hit differently and are so so nice but I have to go with an ambient cafe with rain outside. I love cafés. They're such a vibe and usually calm and a place I can really focus and get some writing done. Add it raining outside? It's the PERFECT moment. I can listen to the rain and get lost in writing.
Almond Milk - Road trip, definitely. Going on a road trip with friends would be so nice. My friends and I get Airbnb's at different places all the time but we've never road tripped. I think taking a summer to do that, to go and explore other places and be stuck in a car with each other for hours would be so much fun.

This is from the next chapter of my TK and Sophie fic -
2011 -
“Dad!” TK practically threw himself into Owen’s arms the second he entered the visitor’s room. Owen held his son as tight as he could; even though he’d gone to see TK almost every day he was in the hospital, it had now been over a week and damn, he really missed his kid.
“I missed you,” Owen murmured in his ear. He kissed the top of his son’s head as TK rested his head on his shoulder.
“You saw me last Sunday,” TK said. “I missed you, too”. He was even more surprised to see his sister. “Soph. You’re here”.
“You’re not happy to see me?” she said, only half-joking.
“Shut up, of course” he said, giving her a hug. “I am confused, though. Isn’t this a school day… like it was last week?”
“Well, I had to tell you,” Sophie said, sitting down before their dad could interrupt with the reason that Sophie was able to come up on a school day. “There was a new episode of Parks and Rec, and Andy and April got married!”
“What!” TK exclaimed as he sat down next to his sister and Owen sat across from them. “But you said they just started going out!”
“They did!” Sophie exclaimed. “They said in the episode they’ve been dating a month, and—”
“Guys,” Owen interrupted. “Kind of lost here. What are we talking about?”
“Parks and Recreation,” TK said. “It’s a show, Dad”.
“They come in on that box you only use to watch the news on,” Sophie added. “And baseball”.
“Oh, that thing”. Owen said sarcastically. “Soph, you want to enlighten your brother on why we were able to visit today?”
Sophie shook her head. “Not really, no”.

🎉 Seven Sentence Sunday vNYE 🎉
TK shifts his posture as the song changes, dropping his shoulders and his gaze as he bites his lower lip and lets himself get lost in the sultry tempo. He swivels his hips and looks up through his eyelashes to survey the nearby prospects when someone moves in close behind him.
A broad chest sweeps across his back more than once before large hands wrap around his hips and TK feels his body being tugged into a grinding pelvis. He doesn’t mind flirting but is not ready to be dry humped by someone he can’t even see, so he pries at the possessive hands and dances forward, spinning around to look at Mr. Bold.
The guy gawks with a hungry grin at the same time as TK shakes his head and shuffles further away. Thankfully he doesn’t react, turning around to find someone else as TK backs into a brick wall.
He turns around to apologize and loses every thought in his head.

Owen gets up from the couch with a teaful sigh, shaking his head before he reaches out and eases TK into his arms. “Come here, we need this,” he says to Gwyn, “Group hug.”
Gwyn joins them, but TK catches the reluctance on her face that Owen seems to miss. Reluctance, or something else. A haunted expression, but as if she’s looked into the future, not the past. As if she already knows what happens next.
