Saito Fuyuka's Heartfelt Thank You Letter to Nagahama Neru

Show: Keyakitte, Kakenai? (episode 110) Air date: December 17th, 2017

In this episode of "Keyakitte, Kakenai?", Nagahama Neru and Saito Fuyuka go on a location shoot, in Neru's home prefecture of Nagasaki. Specifically, they went to Nakadorijima in the Goto Islands, which is where Neru lived from when she was four to seven years old.

At the end of the episode, Fuyuka surprises Neru with a hand written and heartfelt thank you letter. Neru is moved to tears while Fuyuka reads her letter. This is a translation of what Fuyuka wrote, along with Neru's reaction afterwards.

Neru's reaction upon hearing that Fuyuka wrote her a letter was adorable.

To Neru,

Thank you for showing me around the wonderful Goto Islands today. Since I was born, I was raised and lived in places where there were no mountains or seas nearby. We've been surrounded by the magnificence of nature today, and I have been able to view a different scenery from my everyday life. When I think of what I've been able to experience with you today, I once again feel that it was a miracle that I was able to meet you Neru.

And congratulations for all your efforts during your concurrence [with Kanji and Hiragana Keyakizaka46]. Neru, you gave it your all up until the very last moment, didn't you?

From now on, you will no longer need to worry about becoming a bother to either of the groups, all the while being confused about what the right thing to do is, and having days filled with doubts and worries where you feel like crying. I remember that time when you were crying on my knees, and my clothes got drenched with your tears (lol).

But Neru, you've taken responsibility and carried through with the concurrency until the end. I think this is something that you will be able to be proud of in your life. From now on, no matter the hardships that await you, I think you'll surely be able to overcome them. I really respect and look up to this Neru, not as a fellow member, but as a human being. Thank you for always being by my side. I love you.

Neru's response after having listened to Fuyuka's letter:

Fuu-chan, how can I say this... Thank you. You don't judge others, no matter who they are, and you take in things without bias. You always stay impartial, no matter what the topic is, and listen to what they have to say. You really saved my bacon.1

After having seen this episode of Keyakitte, it's really nice to see how Neru still keeps in contact with the people from Nakadorijima. The nice woman who cooked the big meal for Neru, Fuyuka and the whole crew said that Neru was one of the rare youngsters who still come by to visit every year. The others have left the small island villages to go to the bigger cities. The episode succeeded in making me like Neru more ww
