Kakeru Tatagami Headcanons

Assorted Headcanons about the younger Tatagami brother (I love him so much, he’s the best) <3

Goes to the International School of Advanced Athletics in New York for BMX and beyblade.

Got into his school on a scholarship for his past placing in competition.

Bedroom walls are decorated with old skateboards and bike wheels he has Kyoya decorate for him.

Calls Kyoya by variations of his name... including Yo-Yo.

Made his bey himself when he was just 10 years old.

Is extremely good at engineering but finds the professional side of it boring.

Will go on to win an Olympic Gold in BMX.

Eventually adds a modified version of Kyoya’s old jacket to his blader uniform.

Loves sour candy.

Came out to his dad with Kyoya at the same time because he didn’t want to do it alone.

Does not even have a learners permit yet but still rides motocycles and drives anyway, something both Kyoya and his dad explicitly tell him not to.

ADHD sibling to Kyoya’s autism.

Absolutely idolizes Kyoya and the other members of Team Wild Fang as well, seeing the others as bonus siblings (they baby him as much as Kyoya does).

Very outgoing and social.

Is one of a very small group of people who can make fun of Kyoya with no consequences.

Really wants to battle Gingka... he is really banned from battling Gingka.

Wears a fang charm in Kyoya’s honor.

Ends up dating Sora and Ryuto, much to his older brother’s absolute horror at his choices.

Becomes fast friends with Yu Tendo once they met, also to Kyoya’s (and Tsubasa’s) absolute horror.

Is not a fan of the dark or small spaces.

Loves Savannah nearly as much as his brother does and has duel citizenship.

Pegasus and the Chimeras.

Thanks to the aid of the winged horse Pegasus, born from the blood of Medusa, Bellerophon managed to defeat the monster known as the Chimera. In Greek mythology, this monster is primarily described as being half lion and half goat, with a snake for its tail. The battle between Bellerophon and Pegasus against this creature can have multiple significances and interpretations. The term "chimera" can also refer to a creature or monster that possesses parts from various animals.

Throughout the series, Gingka and Pegasus face enemies that can be likened to the monster. In the manga, he effectively combats a chimera bey. Divine Chimera belongs to Kakeru Tategami (which, regrettably, doesn't make an appearance in the anime except for a cameo in Zero-G), who is Kyoya's younger brother. The bey beast looks more like a winged crocodile or dragon than the Chimera from mythology.

Although L-Drago and Kerbecs do not strictly fit the definition of a chimera, they are fantastic beasts as well. In metal fusion, L-Drago's beast, initially composed of three dragons, merges into a single monstrous dragon in episode 51.

According to Greek mythology, Cerberus is a sibling of the Chimera. In addition to its three heads, it has a snake tail. In the anime, Kerbecs can also breathe fire, similar to the Chimera from mythology.

Finally, Nemesis creates a bey-beast primarily made of Orion, L-Drago, and Pegasus, which bears a resemblance to Kakeru's beast.

Furthermore, the main antagonist, along with the other major ones, starts off as extremely arrogant. Ryuga, Doji, Julian, Damian, Ziggurat, and Rago are all exceedingly confident in their abilities and often belittle others. It is noteworthy that Bellerophon, the hero who rode Pegasus, became so arrogant after his victory over the Chimera that he attempted to ascend to Olympus, the home of the gods. He used Pegasus for this endeavor, but before they could reach the summit, Zeus ensured he would fall from Pegasus. While Bellerophon met his end, Pegasus reached the domain of the gods and was placed among the constellations.

All the main antagonists used the strength or data of other characters as well to enhance their power, notably by stealing it. This means that their power is composed of multiple individuals' powers, similar to how various parts of animals make up the chimera.

So what started out as a picture for the younger brothers of the canon characters ended up being a group picture of the “Fearsome Four” in my Beyblade verse. But then I got carried away and threw my own OC into the mix, Lucas how do you manage to get into everything.

So yeah, enjoy some designs of Nero Konzern, Kakeru Tategami, and Ryuto. Have a few ramblings on them as well.

I try to draw Nero’s hair as close to canon as it is (fluffy and gravity defying) while trying to keep in mind he is Julian’s little brother. (I think in canon he’s Yuu or Kenta’s age, but generally I bump his age up for my stories). I hc that as he grows up, Nero kind of rebels against high society and becomes his own personality- loud and carefree, with a love for rock ‘n’ roll and, oddly enough, fashion design.

Kakeru Tategami... Boy do I love this guy. Kyoya’s younger brother, a biker dude, and, despite how tough of a persona he puts on, one of the lights of Kyoya’s life (see: the manga for examples). When I was drawing Kakeru, I was playing around with his design a bit. I love his canon design, but I wanted to do something different with his hair, thus I gave him an undercut. I think he looks good with one!

And finally... Ryuto. Ryuga’s little brother. Treasure hunter extraordinaire. I get it, he travels a lot, he’s probably in hot places a lot but for goodness sake the guy could own a jacket! Something a bit more practical than that tank top thing he wears canonically. Personally, I hc that as he grows older, he becomes the go-to guy for historians and archeologists to call when some new city or ancient artifact is found because Ryuto knows a lot about history and mythology. (For those of you in the fandom, think Jacob Stone from The Librarians).

And ya’ll know Lucas, my own OC, Wales’ little brother. But for those of you that don’t: Traumatic Past with capital letters, icy demeanor, best friends with Nero Konzern, minor genius and winter enthusiast. He breezes through school, but when he gets older, he falls back on a passion he had when he was younger, snowboarding, and makes a career out of it. He’s my baby and I love him.

Wild Fang’s Pokémon Teams + Kakeru

Kyoya:

Litten naturally has the personality of Kyoya. Seriously, it’s just Kyoya as a Pokémon.

The kid’s whole personality is lion. I had to give him the lion-like Pokémon.

I mainly just wanted a dark type and I felt Umbreon fit with Kyoya’s season three design really well.

... Gengar looks like Kyoya during battles.

Persian is yet another lion Pokémon to add to his collection.

Nile:

Fennekins are known for being neat and orderly apparently and that just fits Nile perfectly.

Helio = sun and it’s a desert Pokémon. Also it could sit on his shoulder and that would just be cute.

... Do I really have to explain Cofagrigus?

Sandslash was just a vibe. Idk why, just a vibe.

Fire eeveelution to balance out Kyoya’s dark type one (headcanon that they got them together).

Mawile looks very done with everyone just like Nile’s attitude towards Kyoya during their battle with Gingka.

Demure:

Grookey could sit on his shoulder and it just fit really well.

The anxiety Pokémon for the anxiety blader. Perfect.

Axew was an impulse add and yet I love it so much here.

Emolga was just a vibe and the yellow stripes in it’s ears kinda reminded me of Demure’e earrings so yeah.

Grass eeveelution for the kid who just said that they were from “the grasslands” (headcanon it was caught with Nile and Kyoya’s).

Girafarig was mainly due to me wanting some form of psychic type here and I thought it fit best with the team.

Benkei:

I could just see Pignite helping him cook. That’s it. That’s my whole reasoning.

Tauros = The Bull aka Dark Bull.

Snorlax can also crush people with hugs like Benkei does. Idk, it’s cute.

Hawlucha is just based off Benkei during the World Championships.

Another fighting type that was added based on vibes.

Benkei would have a dog Pokémon that balances out all of Kyoya’s cat Pokémon, and this one’s a food pun for the chef man.

Kakeru:

Cyndaquil is just adorable and is a fire type that evolves to use a wheel attack like Kakeru does.

Baby lion because he idolizes his brother.

Klang because the boy loves to invent apparently (makes his own bey if I remember correctly).

Gible was just a vibe. That’s the whole reason.

Eevee that will probably be a Sylveon or Jolteon one day, just because Kakeru is like the sweetest kid.

What better Pokémon to encapsulate the differences between him and Kyoya than the fact that Kakeru is literally just like Plusle.
