I know we're known for our Belgian fashion and mostly Margiela and the darker fashion arts. But for Undercover we needed to make an exception. This SS2006 'T' dress is wrapped in strands of shredded fabric. Giving us techno-futurustic post-apocalyptic surreal-deconstructic vibes. A mouthful but in reality it's reminding us of the Ann D single and triple lace boots. Perhaps it is simply the surplus our straps? But it did make our kold black heart skip a beat. Jun Takahashi was entrusted by A Magazine Curated By as the guest editor-in-chief for an issue. He invited many creators to participate in the content production of the magazine, and specially invited Maison Martin Margiela to reinvent a t shirt. This prototype that was given to Margiela is a piece from the Undercover 2006 collection entitled "T". Margiela just made cuts and silhouette adjustments on the prototype, which rejuvenated it into a dress.
