It's the penultimate weekend before our exhibition "Art for all Seasons" takes a short break over the holiday period. To give you a taste of what's on offer, this is "Sir Garnet - Winter" (collage based on line drawing) by @easterlyartists member @billhawardart Bill Haward. So what is "Sir Garnet"? On one hand, it's a one-time British army slang term meaning "all in order, everything's OK" in reference to Sir Garnet Wolseley, a 19th Century British general with a reputation for efficiency. More contemporarily, it's now the last surviving 19th Century pub facing the central market in Norwich - although, presumably in a fit of anti-establishmenterialism (if that's a word?), somewhere along the way it dropped the "Sir" and is now just plain "The".
