From humble beginnings in 2022 in the disused Old Court House, The Grit has rapidly grown to become a focal point for the town's arts and local groups, with a wide range of events and activities – all largely self-funded. But now all that is under threat – rising energy costs and other looming bills mean that, unless it can raise £3,600 before April, The Grit will have to close its doors for good. Apart from everything else, that means we'll have nowhere to hold our next exhibition – which would be a catARTstrophe!
