When I met Maggie yesterday somebody asked about Declan’s character development between TRC and TDT and she said “a lot of it was changing POVs. In TRC we see Declan from Ronan’s POV, who sees Declan as a brother who doesn’t understand him and cramps his style. Then we see him from Jordan’s POV, who thinks he’s hot stuff and is some reason preoccupied with his shoes

jordeclan are pretty clearly bi4bi but i find it fascinating how scenes such as the boat ride kind of frame them as the cheesy vanilla straights. like for all the declan bringing jordan to go confront his dad’s clone who lives with the  girl gang and jordan stealing declan’s car and then just being like heyy babygirl wanna meet up 😘 a week later, they are still not on the same level as like. pynch. or whatever ronanennesy is doing. even sarchengsey involved chaining gansey to a tree for unclear purposes which is wild af. idk its just hilarious to me that jordan went through this whole process of accepting that shes doing a cliche normie romance thing.

Jordan knowing how to use egg tempera and being able to execute it properly? That’s more than just a “bit of a flex”, homie. That’s a huge fucking flex.

I find it hilarious that at Declan’s own wedding he didn’t have any friends of his own to invite so he just went “shit—fuck—uhh,, uhhhhh” and then invited all his younger brother’s friends

do you think gansey puts on subway surfers gameplay on his phone and holds it up for Ronan whenever he's on a really detailed tangent about glendower

hey y'all im greywaren posting again.i have so many fucking questions. there were so many loose ends maggie left and im about to complain about them. MAJOR SPOILERS:

what actually is the lace? is it just another eldritch creature in the dream land?

did mor and niall dream romantic and sexual attraction into ronan? like, matthew doesn't have it (we assume) because ronan did mot dream that into him...aurora presumably has attraction dreamt into her because that is her whole purpose...jordan is just a copy of hennessey so she inherited henessey's bisexuality ig...but like. did mor and niall consciously dream attraction into their toddler? or was it just an assumption of him being partially human? also which one of them made him gay?? did the forest make him gay???? (i kinda hope it did tbh)

so do fenian and mor just live at the barns permanently now? what the fuck? when ronan and adam go back to the barns to be domestic, are fenian and mor just there? also...what are ronan's feelings about mor and everything? he doesn't really like her, does he?

what is ronan's, like, job? mission? why was he at the ley line in tennessee? like what was he doing? we understand what hennessey is doing...but ronan is just out being a cryptid again? it honestly kinda sounded like industrial bioterrorism again, ngl

did adam really finish a four-year degree? how??? that boy has had so many near death experiences by now...ain't no way

i probably have more but my break is ending and i gotta go back to work so guess i'll go stew in my thoughts some more :(

The Dreamer Trilogy should have been about Declan!

He was the only one with a truly compelling story arc that ended satisfyingly.

Ronan not being human was a lame rug-pull that had zero consequences on on his story or even the world.

And speaking of zero consequences! All of that ecoterrorism was for nothing! And he didn’t even get punished for it!

Everyone else was super interesting (Henessey, Liliana, Carmen, Jordan, Matthew, Adam) but there wasn’t enough time for any of them to have satisfying storylines, so Maggie just cut them all short.

Ultimately, Maggie should have realized sooner that this was a series about Declan and focused on that. I think she got lost in the weeds trying to make Ronan a metaphor for her illness and disabilities and in the process lost the story part.

TRC/TDT Pride Headcanons! 🌈

Ronan - Wasn't planning on going until he found out that Jordan has convinced Declan to join. Then he goes purely to assist Henessey in relentlessly mocking him. Wears all black and a collar that says something provocative like "Daddy" or "Bottom". He wears it partly for kinky reasons but mostly to make Declan uncomfortable. Holds hands with Adam the whole time cos despite the risqué get-up he actually really does not want to get hit on.

Adam - Doesn't dress up but lets Blue apply some subtle face paint in the bi colours. Maybe has a little bi pride pin as well. Is mainly there for the sake of hanging out with friends but enjoys the atmosphere and sense of community as long as they avoid the parts that are too noisy or crowded.

Gansey - Absolutely thrilled to be there. Is there as an ally but is probably more hyped than any of the actual queer people he's there to support. Gets hit on several times throughout the night but is completely oblivious every time. Gets super emotional about how much he loves his friends and how honoured he feels that they can be themselves around him. Definitely cries at least once.

Blue - Wears as many rainbows as it's feasibly possible for one human to wear at a time. Rainbow clothing full of holes and rips revealing different equally rainbow coloured layers underneath. Gets into a competition with Hennessey and Ronan about who can aquire the most free condoms by the end of the night.

Noah, Henry, Jordan and Hennessey - I don't have strong headcanons for these guys other than the fact that they would all wear a fuckton of glitter and probably flirt a bunch.

I tried to keep these ones as canon-compliant as possible but would love to see pride headcanons for bi!Gansey or poly!Gangsey.

re: the henessey snippets - henessey mentions sleeping with women in the diner scene near the beginning of mi, and there's also a line in cdth where jordan mentions that her and henessey always had the 'same boyfriends, same girlfriends' (sorry not sure about page numbers) so yeah they've always been canonically bi!! I am also thrilled about carmen/liliana/henessey too
