Jean-Emmanuel "Valnoir" Simoulin (1979) studied graphic design at EPSAA (Paris) for 5 years and graduated in 2004.

At first mostly influenced by the Slovenian collective NSK, he withdrew from commercial and corporate design to focus on extreme underground music scenes, such as noise, industrial and black metal, grounds of expression that are supposed to be free of the client's usual domination over the designer.

Még nincs egy hete, hogy megjelent a finn Amorphis új stúdióalbuma, a 2015-ös Under The Red Cloud lemez folytatása. A Queen Of Time lemez producere ismét Jens Bogren (Opeth, Kreator, Amon Amarth) volt, a borítót pedig ezúttal is a francia Jean “Valnoir” Simoulin készítette. A Queen Of Time albumon ismét az alapítótag Olli-Pekka Laine basszusozik, aki tavaly tért vissza a csapatba, hogy átvegye Niclas Etelävuori helyét.

A Decibel magazin flexi disc mellékleteként látott napvilágot egy új Amorphis dal, a Honeyflow, ami nem került fel a friss albumra (a japán verzióra igen, bónuszként). Ismerkedj meg vele! Szemben a legutóbbi anyagukkal, az új Amorphis albumon igazi vonósok, fuvolások szerepelnek, valamint kórusok is. Különlegesség az is, hogy a szövegíró Pekka Kainulainen első ízben hallható egy lemezen; egy finn nyelvű szöveget ad elő az új albumon.

“Úgy hiszem, hogy a Queen Of Time mindannyiunkat nagyon meglepett. A próbák és a felvételekre készülés során fogalmunk sem volt arról, hogy Jens Bogrennek mennyire alapos elképzelése van arról, hogy hogyan kéne szólnia az új albumunknak. Ez az anyag egy nagyon is természetes folytatása lesz az Under The Red Cloud-nak, de tele szteroiddal!

A dalok agresszívebbek, de több a dinamika bennük, több a harmónia és több a nagyzenekari kíséret is. A végeredmény pedig egy olyan Amorphis lett, amilyet még sosem hallhattál. A lényeg az, hogy nagyon bevált a közös munka Jens-szel! Emberileg is nagyon hasonló hozzánk, ugyanolyan bizarr a humora, mint nekünk, és az is közös bennünk, hogy ő is szereti a kemény munkát.”

Today the band is teasing fans with a taster of what to expect from their 13th studio album. The tiniest thing can sometimes be the most important thing. A bee can bring life or if we destroy all the bees, life will stop here. It's a very beautiful animal, that's why you can find it on the album cover too. The track itself is a kind of progressive and I'm sure that it will surprise some fans in a positive way. We love it!"
