Why I Love It: I just finished my first read through of Part 3 since I finished it back in December. Let me tell you, it was SUCH a delight. I had forgotten so many little details, I was constantly gasping and sharing parts of it with my partner in utter delight. If you want a light-hearted polyamorous rom-com AU, this is the series for you! Reading Part 3 instantly inspired me to start Part 1 over again. I'll never get tired of this series.

Why I Love It: As soon as I heard 'Emily as a Sugar Mama' I was intrigued. The set-up in this first chapter is already amazing and I am highly looking forward to reading more. I never thought I'd be reading reader insert fics and I definitely never thought I'd be hyped about a reader series, but Katt single-handedly changed my mind and all my preconceived notions. The way she writes is so magnificent, you can't help but get drawn in. This story is sure to be an exhilarating read.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
OF COURSE I DO!!! Lately, I have been writing a lot of smut because menopause has turned me into a 24/7 horny gay. All my fics are Femslash and I also write F/F/F threesomes because I have multiple OT3s 😇
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I have written crossovers in the past! Two of my favourites are a TAH x Addams Family one : Beyond Belief: When Family Calls and a CM x Community crossover where Emily and Frankie Dart are estranged twins: Words Left Unsaid
11. Have you ever had a fiction stolen?
Not so much stolen, as I've seen parts of my own personal fanon lore being used in other fics sometimes. Which I find endearing. Me and @otahkoapisiakii have so many Jemily HCs that we often share the same background details in our fics and then, sometimes, readers see these things and mistakenly think they're canon.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yep! I've had a few fics translated into other languages. I think one was translated to Polish and another to Mandarin. Also, I think there's one in German somewhere too.
I LOVE when people ask to translate my works! It's such an honour.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
TONS. I think me and @otahkoapisiakii (Phoenix_falls on AO3) have about 6 or 7 we wrote together.
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
That's an impossible question. My longest loved OTP will always be MSR. My most written OTP is JJ/Emily. My current favourite ships are JJ/Tara & Tara/Rebecca.
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
When I retired from writing in 2015, I left behind a WIP (To Catch an Unsub). When I came back last year, I vowed to try and finish it. I re-wrote a lot of what had already been posted and managed a new chapter even -- but after nearly eight years, my writing style now is far different than when I started out in 2015. So I tied up the cliff-hanger and marked it as complete, because I know my heart isn't in it to continue that one.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I have a really good understanding of the characters, I know what makes them tick, their motives, their insecurities and I think that makes them feel more authentic in my works.
I'm also a very fast writer. Both physically (my typing speed is absurd), but also just being able to bang out 10k in a day when I have an idea.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
NUMBERS AND SELF-IMPOSED RULES! I used to have this thing (I still struggle with it, but less so now) where I'd be like 'Every one-shot or chapter can't be more than 4k words'. Or if it's a multi-chap fic it has to be at least x amount of words minimum.
When I started writing completely for myself, those rules stopped holding me back. Now, I write until I'm done writing. Thus why Fooled Around (and Fell in Love) - Part 3 is going to be around 200k long when it's done.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
If I use another language, it's usually French because I at least speak a bit of it and don't have to use Google translate or other horrible tools that butcher nuance.
I have a Spanish speaking character in Part 3 and that made me really have to dig out my limited Spanish speaking skills for her scenes. Which are probably grating to fluent speakers (apologies!)
I think the best thing you can do if you want to use a language you don't speak is to talk to people who do speak it. It helps make the dialogue more genuine.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Bones! During the WGA 2007 strike, I decided to fill the gap of TV hiatus with my own story. I wrote 'She Was My First' (Angela/Brennan) and posted it to LiveJournal (where I was in tons of Bones groups).
Since then, I ported it to AO3 around 2014. And now, it's the most read Angela/Brennan fic on there.
Fun Fact: Someone randomly leaving a comment on this fic last year was the reason I came back to writing!!
20. Favorite fic you've ever written?
I get this question a lot and I think my answer always changes because I love different fics for different reasons. So here are some of my top ones:

My very own printed version of Fooled Around (and Fell in Love) - Part 1. This has been a project I've been working on for a couple of months and I'm so happy with how it's turned out.
Doom Them helped me get started with Adobe InDesign, then I typeset and formatted the book myself. Also designed the cover too, using art by the incredible @artcake.
I can't wait to get the other two parts of the series designed so I can have the full set on my bookshelf 🥰

So I'm reading Fooled Around (and Fell in Love) - Part 3 for the first time since finishing it in early December. And let me tell you, the way that so much of it suddenly mirrors what's going on currently in life is WILD. Stuff I absolutely never could have predicted four months ago!
I keep sending paragraphs to @otahkoapisiakii in shock. Did writing this fic manifest these things, or does fic imitate life, imitates fic? 🤔
Either way, I am pulling such a different understanding out of this story right now. I love it so much.

CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR - NOW POSTED
It was a complicated situation, which Elle seemed totally uninterested in talking about, and although JJ wanted to be respectful of her boundaries, she'd also found herself surprisingly fascinated about Elle's gender fluidity. It had piqued her interest in ways she couldn't entirely explain. After kissing her, JJ realised she wasn't attracted to Elle in the ways she originally thought, but JJ was attracted to Leo. She couldn't make heads or tails of those feelings, because the fact was, Elle was Leo and he was Elle, so how was it possible for JJ to only be attracted to one without the other?
From JJ's confusing attraction, to her strange dreams, to the sexual fantasies she'd been envisioning recently, to how much she enjoyed Emily giving her a blowjob, JJ wasn't sure what was going on anymore. She assumed all of these things, these new feelings and turn-ons, were connected to each other, the question was -- how?
These feelings, which she'd been having since first realising who Leo was, were becoming more and more daunting. She'd never thought about her own gender at any great length, she never had a reason to previously. JJ knew she was a woman and she loved her body. She'd never felt dysphoric about it and she definitely never felt like she was a man, in the ways that Luke was man. She also didn't feel detached from her 'womanhood' in the same ways Penelope did. Back when Penelope first came out as nonbinary, the pair of them had plenty of in-depth discussions about gender, but to JJ's understanding, even Penelope's nonbinary identity was more of static thing, unchanging and clearly defined.
JJ couldn't relate to Luke's transness, nor Penelope's, but the way Elle described of her own experience made something deep down in JJ's subconscious flutter closer to the surface. Elle used the word 'fluid' when she explained how some days, she felt like a woman, other days like a man, but she'd also said, a lot of time, she felt detached from her gender completely.
JJ had never thought about gender as being something fluid, something that changed from day to day for some people, but the more time she spent trying to comprehend the concept, the more it terrified her. A lot of what Elle said seemed almost familiar to JJ in some ways, it had her reframing some of her own experiences, looking at her past through a new lens. The whole ordeal suddenly had JJ questioning whether she wanted to be with Leo -- or if she simply wanted to be Leo.

FINAL CHAPTER - NOW POSTED
A/N: Due to some personal scheduling, I decided to post the final chapter a day early. Hope you all don't mind ;)
JJ had the sink running to rinse dishes before loading them into the dishwasher and Tara used the noise of the tap to cover her movements as she snuck up behind her partner. She grabbed JJ's waist from behind, making them shriek in surprise. Tara reached past them and turned off the tap, then brought JJ into a long, passionate kiss.
JJ hummed contently with a stunned grin, "What was that for?"
"Because I love you," Tara replied. She leaned in for another kiss, equally as heartfelt as the first. "And that was because I appreciate you," another kiss, "and that was because I'm proud of you."
"I love you too, Piglet," JJ grinned.
Tara leaned in like she was going to kiss them a fourth time, but maneuvered to duck at the last second. She buried her shoulder against JJ's waist and flung them over it. JJ burst into laughter and pretended to fight back, even though they both knew JJ loved it.
"What are you doing?" JJ questioned as they relaxed to allow Tara to carry all of their weight.
Tara grunted at the change and readjusted, shirking her shoulder like JJ was a sack of potatoes she was carrying, instead of a highly trained FBI agent who could easily kick her ass if they wanted to.
"I told you, you're not allowed to help with breakfast," Tara replied as she began pulling things out of the fridge. "And since you wouldn't sit down, I've had to resort to drastic measures. So you better get comfortable up there, because pancakes take me half an hour."
"You are not going to tote me around for thirty minutes."
"Oh?" Tara gently removed the arm she'd been using to hold JJ's legs against her chest, shifting her weight until she was balancing her partner on one shoulder while being able to use both her hands for short amounts of time. "Is that a challenge?"
"And what if I say it is?" JJ chided. "What's in it for me when I win?"
Tara used her foot to pull out a drawer and stretched an arm down to grab the mixing bowl out. "Well, what's in it for you is that you get pancakes."
"I was already going to get pancakes," JJ reminded. She had gone completely ragdoll at this point, talking to Tara while upside down over her shoulder, staring at her ass -- which was actually a pretty great view in JJ's opinion.
"Nope, I think me and Emily are going to eat all the pancakes with out you."
"Nice try, babe," JJ said. "You couldn't keep me from pancakes without physically...."
"Physically what, Jen?" Tara mocked. "Physically restraining you?"
JJ huffed in feigned frustration. She could get down anytime she wanted, but where was the fun in that? She noticed Tara's phone in her back pocket and slowly began to work it free without raising Tara's suspicion.
