Hi! Yes, they're a dinosaur! The specific dinosaur is a deinonychus and the character's name is Marvin. They're based off my Doctor Who/Star Trek OC (originally they were a Doctor Who OC and then I made an AU version of them for Star Trek). A friend was open to art trades (jayster on toyhouse) and they drew Marvin as a raptor. Originally I was just gonna have it as a fun one-off but I quite like the design and I love dromaeosaurs so I ended up doodling them a couple more times. The doodle in my profile picture is one I did as a discord emote :)

Music and Tech II Post #1

I’m pretty sure that for this project, I want to expand my knowledge and mastery of tracker music, specifically using OpenMPT or Open Mod Plug Tracker.  I seek to research its utilities and and to be able to 

My only former experience with this kind of program was creating very short NES WarioWare-style music clips for my friend’s graphics project.  They were done in a matter of hours, but I did not look into the effects manual, so I didn’t incorporate flourishes like the portamento (a waver in pitch concentrated over one note) or the trill.  Also, for the sake of simplicity, the channels present in the Instrument Tracker mimic the 5 channels available to the NES (aside from the sample channel).  However, I did have to manually create the NES “instruments”, pulling a bunch of utilitarian waves from the internet (square, triangle, white noise) and editing their envelopes to replicate “keystrokes” when a note is played in the channels.  The following are a few of the clips I made.

Of course, this project will go way beyond the scope of the WarioWare clips.  I want to create tracker music more akin to Jayster’s tracks. Attaining a fraction of his talent with OpenMPT would be totally worth a semester project.

Jayster is known for his work in OpenMPT as well as other more specialized variations like FamiTracker.  There are lessons I wish to learn from him, such as the art of blending electronic waves and sampled sounds, as well as stereo mixing.

Another artist I consider to be one of my driving goals is Yuzo Koshiro, a game music composer who made his name known with his minimal bit music like in ActRaiser or Etrian Odyssey.

So really, I want this project to improve my competency in fixed electronic music compositions using tracker software.  Trackers are appealing to me in that every ordered beat in every channel is illustrated for you and is at your total disposal.  I’m not really the type of person that offers music up to abstraction or chance, so tracker technology is reflective of my personality when I write music.

After seeing the new trailer for Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken, I got inspired to do a crossover with Luca.

I've never drawn CGI characters before, so I'm quite proud of how well these came out. Ruby was a little hard to draw since the only references I had to work with were screenshots from the trailer, but I think I captured her pretty well :)

I'm taking advantage of Pride Month right now to vent some personal frustrations.

I was a little hesitant to do this cause of the bizarre mix-match of canon and ocs, but given the amount of biphobia I've seen most of these characters subjected to, I decided to say screw it.

Well apparently, the long-awaited episode eight of Helluva Boss finally comes out today, and so I'm taking advantage of that to upload this piece I finished up last week.

As I've noted in a previous drawing, I've gotten into a Helluva Boss fanfiction titled A Loud Among Demons, which is a crossover with The Loud House. Written by TvFan2244, who apparently has a DeviantArt account under the username SpiderDragon4799, it's a bizarre crossover, yes, but the story is really well written, barring some rather glaring grammatical errors here and there. After doing some thinking, I decided to make my own cover poster for the story.

I wanted to challenge myself a bit by drawing a group shot, which I'm not used to doing. I also based the title logo off of D3viantMORALES' take on the logo... which, in turn, was also based on MicroOrigin's logo. A long line of inspiration, clearly lol

All-in-all, I ain't terribly happy with how the composition came out, but I'll let y'all be the judge.

I'm going to be perfectly honest when I say The Amazing Digital Circus didn't really wow me too much, but I got inspired nonetheless.

As to why I decided to make a crossover with Big City Greens… I actually don't know, an idea struck me and it felt like something I needed to do :P

I'm not terribly huge on Helluva Boss in all honesty and have lost interest in The Loud House too for that matter, but that hasn't stopped me from getting into this crossover fanfic titled A Loud Among Demons. Y'all should give it a read, it's really well-written! I drew Lincoln based off of @terrorking10's rendition of him, seeing as how he's a fan of the story as well.

I really liked @adrianacartoonfangirl's genderswaps of Cricket and Tilly from Big City Greens so I decided to draw them myself.

It's pretty wild how there are minorities who are perfectly okay with discriminating against other minorities, some of whom are from their own community no less.

This is something I was gonna hold off until Pride Month, but I learned today is Trans Day of Visibility so I figured I might as well churn this out now. And just for the record, this comic is PURELY an example.

I'm not even a fan of Victor and Valentino and I still ship these two.

What I originally intended to be simple gift art, I decided to turn into a deliberate challenge. And boy, what a challenge it was…

Anyway, I've recently begun following @trishabeakens and have grown a fondness for their Darkwing Duck OC Kimbra, who is the wife of the Liquidator.

And seeing as how Pixar's Elemental comes out today, my mind decided to mash up the characters and create this piece. I would say I had both fun AND a miserable time doing this XD

Birthday gift for @ck-blogs-stuff featuring Punching Judy and Toast in a mud wrestling match (yes I know they're boxers, just go with it).

This one was a little tricky due to the angles, but I overall had fun doing this. Happy birthday dude!
