The Saturday Night Live version of the third Republican debate was more entertaining than the original. Though they missed an opportunity by leaving out Nikki Haley calling Vivek Ramaswamy "scum".
SNL needs to time things out better, so we get at least 3 sketches in the back half, but tonight's episode is the best one since October. Just fun having Kristen's vibes back, and I hope the show manages to carry that energy on for next week Ryan Gosling episode. Excited to see cut-for-times later.
Very nice use of Dismukes and JAJ tonight. (But use Longfellow, show! He is a star! Should not be shutout of episodes!)
This is either number 2 or 3 of S49 depending on how I feel in the morning.
‘SNL’ Recap: Pedro Pascal Is Our Comedy Daddy (And Madre) Now
After harshing on Saturday Night Live for several weeks, I’m left overnight with nothing but superlatives for the 12th episode of Season 48. Is this Opposite Week? Did Pedro Pascal’s appearance in the halls of 30 Rock inspire the writers to cook up their best ideas? Has this transition season turned a corner? Whatever the reasons, we’re not complaining!
What’s The Deal For The SNL Cold Open For…
Halfway point of SNL: Really enjoying Ramy and the relaxed vibes that he is bringing to SNL. Nice to have so many Muslim point-of-view bits during Easter weekend. Immigrant dads is the best Marcello piece of the season.
In the bad: writing is still a little rough (ala the cat coach sketch/ PDD), they did a repeat sketch (but at least they did a repeat of the Quinta gameshow), the pacing is still awful, and they did AN EASTER TRUMP COLD OPEN FAKE-OUT FOR THE 3RD YEAR IN A ROW.
(Also, personal preference, not a Travis Scott guy).
