Remembering Jack's suicide attempt
Trigger warning: suicide mention
It's been almost 3 years since beastars ended. But I can still only think of how the happiest and most optimistic character tried killing himself.
Like, his best friend, who was his best friend his whole life, suddenly starts to drift away, keep him in the dark, and get a secret life. Legoshi starts worrying jack more and more, until he quits school with no explanation. And the moment he leaves, Jack starts taking the hardest classes in the school and has no time to do anything else.
Losing his best friend, losing his peace, thinking he's drifting away from his other friends, and feeling numb. He thinks his only option is to die in front of the friend he loved the most but broke his heart.
I love them so much and it broke my heart too see that. I hated Legoshi so much for leaving jack with no explanation but I was so glad to see Legoshi saving him.
(I only read the manga in Portuguese so these are the only panels in English I have)

Many Legosis! I really love how Paru draws him; also Free? Best grins. Still cranky we never got to see Tao and Kibi drinking their ant milkshake, so I had to draw it.

Stan and Ford
They are absolute bros, literally!
Stan and Ford are identical twins with both dramatically similar and dramatically different personalities. They both love adventures and danger but Ford is a scientist and Stan is a professional grifter. They went through some tough times together but the power of their friendship got them through it.
They are a perfect example of best friends who are also brothers!
He spent 30 years trying to build a portal to get his brother back from being trapped in the multiverse after they'd already been estranged for 10 years before that
Jack and Legosi
He's very loyal (he's a dog).
He worries a lot about Legosi, asking him about how he's doing, reminding him to call his grandpa, pointing out when his eating habits change, etc.
While he does worry about Legosi's personal life, he doesn't push if he doesn't want to talk about it unless he thinks it's detrimental to Legosi to keep it hidden, and when he finds out something (on accident, he wouldn't go searching for it) he tells Legosi immediately instead of keeping hidde that he knows and promises to keep it secret (and he does).
Very good friend!!!!
1. He's literally a dog, the animal often described as "best friend".
2. He's very loyal and worries a lot about his best friend (there's a lot to worry about tbh)
3. He's kind of the ""mom friend"" in their friend group
4. Even when he's worried, he tries not to push it if Legosi doesn't wanna talk about it unless he thinks it's detrimental for him to keep it hidden, but even then he doesn't go searching for clues on his own
5. He keeps all of Legosi's secrets
6. He shows interest in the things Legosi's into, such as bugs and the things he does at his club
7. He worries about Legosi's personal life, reminding him to call his grandpa and to thank him for everything (sice he raised him and pays for his school)
8. He notices little changes in Legosi's behavior and is able to pick up if something is wrong. Also is able to tell what he wants even when he doesn't say anything because they've been best friends for so long (he's able to know that he's sick because he calls him and says nothing but make a noise, he explains to his other friend "that's just the noise he makes when he has a stuffy nose")
9. All the friend group promises to hang out even if they are grown up (very cute scene)
10. Also when the friend group reunites and can't stop wagging their tails, very cute scene!!!!!!
11. He's my blorbo and he's tormented by the horrors (the horrors being history knowledge)
12. "I wanted nothing more than for you to be happy. That a clumsy guy like you could grow up, make good friends, study hard at school and get a nice girlfriend... why does that have to be so hard?"
13. Also they hated eachother when they first met as kids, as many bffs do
