the fact that Louis left Lestat only to run into & start dating a vampire who was obsessed with Lestat & still has his portrait like—the vampire dating scene is a circle

Caveat that I haven’t read the books but: thinking about how what leaves Lestat all heart eyes over Louis is his apparent willingness to gut his brother over messing with his things, in light of his later dinner table reveal of how awful his father and brothers were to him, and how Louis’ claim of one-sided admiration in episode 2 means he didn’t notice how Lestat was saying he badly wanted to be a man like that and with a man like that.

I thought I recognized Lestat's robe in this scene
And it matches with this robe from (gay artist) J. C. Leyendecker's 1916 Arrow Collar Shirt ad
And my art history nerd ass needs to know if that was on purpose or just a coincidence. But whatever it is, it's gay as fuck

Not a new observation or anything, but Lestat saying “You must think me an idiot” when Claudia sits next to him at the piano & says she has a gift for him.
Claudia saying “You must think me an idiot” as Lestat is dying 👨🍳💋

There’s something so funny about the contrast between Daniel Molloy and Tom Anderson.
Like 20th century born Daniel met one (1) vampire and has spent decades grappling with the trauma of that reality, can hardly believe or cope with there being more, can’t really see Claudia as a girl under the vampirism. and still struggles with his sexuality and queerness more generally.
19th century Tom was given, nearly simultaneously, the reveal of a gay, interracial AND vampire couple and went “kay” and continued to work with them for decades, met their abomination/daughter/sister and just reminisced about knowing her dads, and laughed at the, for the time super shocking, gay kiss.
