Amne sat in her room, or, what would soon not be her room.
Selyna's words were stuck in her mind, playing on repeat like a record.
"In about a week's time, you'll be back in the overworld.
Selyna told her that almost a week ago.
And tomorrow, her life would change forever.
Amne couldn't stop thinking about it. Soon.. soon she'd be back in that wretched place she once called home, away from everything that had been her life for almost two years now..
Hell, it hadn't even been two years, more like 3 months, but still..
Her new life, her new identity, they'd all be gone soon.
She would leave behind her friends, her family..
Roman..
..Silas..
All of them, like they were nothing but a temporary filler.
It made Amne feel like shit.
..she wouldn't even be Amne anymore..
Amne Soles would cease to exist, and Karyme Sain-Santos would come back, permanently.
She hadn't even told anyone yet, in hopes that something in the revival process would go wrong, but everything was going exactly as it should.
...
Amne didn't want this.
Why would she want this?
Those people, the ones she trusted at some point were now nothing but a faded memory. She knew that most of them weren't at fault, but the hatred still lingered..
Amne couldn't let this happen.
She couldn't let the revival happen.
She couldn't go back, not now, not ever.
...
So she had a plan.
While everyone slept, she would make her way to Selyna's soul room, and from there, put an end to the revival.
Her soul. She had to get rid of her soul.
Once and for all.
~~~~~~~~~~
Day turned to night, and Amne anxiously waited for everyone to go to sleep.
Unlucky for her, mostly everyone here were insomniacs like herself, so she had to stay up very late.
Amne couldn't help but be annoyed at Silas for helping her fix her sleep schedule, because now it was increasingly hard for her to stay awake.
Every couple of seconds, like clockwork, Amne almost drifted off. She couldn't risk falling asleep, because if she did, she would lose her only chance.
So she fought the exhaustion, and kept wide awake until silence finally fell throughout the castle.
Amne pushed herself out of bed, and slowly crept out of her room, her cloak secured around her, keeping her warm.
The soul room wasn't in the castle, rather in a seperate building, so she had to travel through the castle grounds, and then the village, all without being noticed.
This wouldn't be easy, but she had to do it.
So, Amne silently as well as slowly made her was through the halls of the castle, before finally reaching the entrance.
All she had to do now was open it, and then-
"Amne.?"
Amne stopped, turning around slowly.
Kairo stood there, looking confused.
"Kairo, why are you still up.?" Amne asks, keeping calm.
"I couldn't sleep, so I went to the library to get a book.." She responds. "..why are you awake..?"
Amne goes over to her. "Don't worry, I was just going out to get some fresh air."
Kairo perks up. "Oh, that makes sense."
Amne nods. "Go back to your room, I'll only be out for a bit."
Kairo nods in response before walking off softly.
As soon as she's out of sight, Amne lets out a breath of relief. That was too close of a call, she couldn't risk another one..
Amne sighs, and slips out of the castle, unbeknownst to everyone else.
~~~~~~~~~~
The walk to the soul room was eternal, as well as stressful, but finally Amne made it inside.
She was glad to be out of the cold, and also proud that she made it through unnoticed.
Now, she moved onto the final part of her plan.
Destroying her new soul.
Normally, this would be impossible, but Amne had an advantage.
An advantage in the form of a parasite.
"W̯ͤ̾ͣ͝ḣ̖̻͛̓o̯̱̊͊͢ ā̤̓̍͘r̴̨̦͕̝ẹ̿͋̒̕ y҉̃̀̋̑o̯̱̊͊͢ư̡͕̭̇ c͕͗ͤ̕̕ā̤̓̍͘l̙͖̑̾ͣl̙͖̑̾ͣỉ͔͖̜͌ṇ̤͛̒̍ĝ̽̓̀͑ p̞̈͑̚͞ā̤̓̍͘r̴̨̦͕̝ā̤̓̍͘s̠҉͍͊ͅỉ͔͖̜͌t̲̂̓ͩ̑ẹ̿͋̒̕..?" Nahdiye mumbles coldly.
Amne sighs. "You know I don't mean it in a bad way."

"I'm sure you'll like to hear this, but don't get used to it." Amne warns. "I need you to take over, and destroy my new soul."

Amne nods. "Just.. make it quick."
She gets no reply, but her body suddenly shaking lets her know the response.
A change that used to be painful now only felt uncomfortable, but soon, Amne lost control.
Nahdiye adjusted to being in control before trying to locate the soul.
The task was easy, as the soul was right in the middle of the room, unguarded.. as if waiting for it to arrive.
Nahdiye made its way over to it, stopping right in front of it.
The souls only protection was a glass container. Glass never managed to stop Nahdiye.
It was actually surprised, since it thought that after the possession it did on Amne, Selyna would consider a better way to store important artifacts or entities.
It was not a matter of worry, since this ignorance made Nahdiye's job easier.
With a swing of its claw, the glass container shattered into a million pieces. The soul was left unprotected, just as it needed to be.
Nahdiye grabbed the soul, staring at it momentarily. It was always a shame to destroy one of these, with how long it took to create, but it had to be done.
In the end, why waste time on a soul who doesn't wish for life?
Nahdiye extends its claw, preparing to crush it..
Until a door slams open.
Nahdiye is caught off guard, and has no time to react as its restrained.
Selyna looks down at it with a blank expression, eyes narrowed.
"𝑌𝑜𝑢 𝑤𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑟𝑜𝑏 𝐴𝑚𝑛𝑒𝑠𝑖𝑎 𝑜𝑓 ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑛𝑒𝑤 𝑐ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒." She says coldly.
Nahdiye narrows its own eyes, annoyed. "I̍̅̀̎̊ o̯̱̊͊͢ṇ̤͛̒̍l̙͖̑̾ͣy҉̃̀̋̑ ā̤̓̍͘c͕͗ͤ̕̕t̲̂̓ͩ̑ o̯̱̊͊͢ṇ̤͛̒̍ c͕͗ͤ̕̕o̯̱̊͢ḿ̬̏ͤͅḿ̬̏ͤͅā̤̓̍͘ṇ̤͛̒̍ḑ̴̞͛̒, ṇ̤͛̒̍o̯̱̊͊͢t̲̂̓ͩ̑ c͕͗ͤ̕̕ḣ̖̻͛̓o̯̱̊͊͢ỉ͔͖̜͌c͕͗ͤ̕̕ẹ̿͋̒̕."
Selyna looks surprised. "𝑌𝑜𝑢 𝑚𝑒𝑎𝑛 𝑡𝑜 𝑡𝑒𝑙𝑙 𝑚𝑒 𝑠ℎ𝑒 𝑤𝑎𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑠.?"
Nahdiye huffs. "A̷͙ͭͫ̕s̠҉͍͊ͅḳ̯͍̑ͦ ḣ̖̻͛̓ẹ̿͋̒̕r̴̨̦͕̝ y҉̃̀̋̑o̯̱̊͊͢ư̡͕̭̇r̴̨̦͕̝s̠҉͍͊ͅẹ̿͋̒̕l̙͖̑̾ͣf̵̵̵͖̜͖̜͖̜̉̉̉ͅͅͅ."
It closes its eyes, and in seconds, Amne falls back into control. She gasps at the sudden change, looking around before her gaze lands on Selyna
"w-wait.." Amne starts.
Selyna looks over to her, her expression unreadable. "𝑇𝑒𝑙𝑙 𝑚𝑒 𝐴𝑚𝑛𝑒𝑠𝑖𝑎, 𝑤ℎ𝑦 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑑𝑜𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑠.?"
Amne narrows her eyes. "Like you would understand.."
Selyna looks away from her. "𝑇ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑠𝑜𝑢𝑙 𝑖𝑠 𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑑𝑦, 𝑖𝑡 𝑠𝑒𝑒𝑚𝑠."
Amne's eyes widen. "No.. I still had time.!" She shouts, trying to stand, only to fall back down.
"𝐴𝑚𝑛𝑒𝑠𝑖𝑎, 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑚𝑢𝑠𝑡 𝑡𝑒𝑙𝑙 𝑚𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑠𝑜𝑛𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑏𝑒ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑑 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑠, 𝑜𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑤𝑖𝑠𝑒, 𝐼 𝑐𝑎𝑛𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑡𝑒𝑐𝑡 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑓𝑟𝑜𝑚 𝑗𝑢𝑑𝑔𝑒𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡." Selyna says.
"I wanted the soul dead!" Amne shouts. "I wanted it gone!"
Selyna only states at her, unfazed by the yelling.
"I won't go back there, you can't make me go back!" Amne yells, finally brealint down in tears.
Her head hung down as she cried, unable to stop even if she really tried. Her pent up frustrations and anger all boiled over to sadness.
She couldn't ever go back to her old life, even if she really wanted to. There was nothing for her when she was there, why would there be now?
Those people didn't care for her, the people here did.
Her real family were all here.
Amne wanted to stay.
Amne sniffled as she felt a presence in front of her. Slowly, hands cupped her face, tilting her head up by force.
"𝐷𝑒𝑎𝑟, 𝑖𝑡 𝑝𝑎𝑖𝑛𝑠 𝑚𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝑠𝑒𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑤𝑎𝑦." Selyna mumbles. "𝐸𝑣𝑒𝑛 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑎𝑏𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑦 𝑡𝑜, 𝐼 𝑐𝑎𝑛𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑐𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑏𝑎𝑐𝑘 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒."
Amne can't find it in her to speak as Selyna sighs.
"𝑌𝑜𝑢 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑓𝑖𝑟𝑠𝑡 𝑡𝑜 𝑑𝑒𝑛𝑦 𝑙𝑖𝑓𝑒, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝐼 𝑐𝑎𝑛𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑏𝑙𝑎𝑚𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑖𝑡." Selyna says softly. "𝐶ℎ𝑖𝑙𝑑, 𝑖𝑓 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑤𝑖𝑠ℎ 𝑡𝑜 𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑦, 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑛 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑤𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑦."
Amne's eyes widen. "..r-really.?"
Selyna nods. "𝑁𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟 𝑤𝑜𝑢𝑙𝑑 𝐼 𝑑𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑜𝑤 𝑎𝑛𝑦 𝑜𝑓 𝑚𝑦 𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑒𝑙𝑠 𝑡𝑜 𝑠𝑢𝑓𝑓𝑒𝑟, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑛𝑜 𝑒𝑥𝑐𝑒𝑝𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛, 𝑑𝑒𝑎𝑟."
Amne is about to speak until the doors open once again. Silas stands in the doorway, obviously confused and concerned.
Selyna backs away from Amne, looking over to Silas in silence.
"What's going on-" Silas asks before he's interrupted by Amne practically barreling into him.
He is quick to embrace her, feeling her sink against him in years. Silas' hands automatically move to her waist and hair as he holds her tightly.
He gives Selyna a look, and she smiles.
"𝐴𝑚𝑛𝑒𝑠𝑖𝑎 ℎ𝑎𝑠 𝑚𝑎𝑑𝑒 ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑐ℎ𝑜𝑖𝑐𝑒, 𝑆𝑖𝑙𝑎𝑠."
Silas lets out a breath, looking back down at Amne, who's face is buried in his chest.
Selyna goes over to the door of the room, preparing to leave until she stops, and turns over to the two.
"𝑊𝑒𝑙𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑒 ℎ𝑜𝑚𝑒, 𝑜𝑓𝑓𝑖𝑐𝑖𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦, 𝐴𝑚𝑛𝑒𝑠𝑖𝑎."
