I’m tired of seeing AI generated stuff. Ethically it’s shit, yeah. But more than that it’s fucking ugly. The warped text, the odd placement of objects, the lack of objects (like fingers and stuff)- it’s hideous. And it’s so baffling to see large scale companies use it and it just looks like shit. And the ai generated scripts and ai generated voice actors too- like??? Hire a writer! Hire a voice actor! It sounds awful! I tried to use Duolingo again recently and couldn’t get past how unnatural the shit sounds. Yeah you’re cutting corners but you’re cutting them with a wonky ass knife. The quality is poor. Pack it up.

Had to delete a reblog from the queue because it turned out it was ai-voiced.
Friendly reminder that multiple voice actors have spoken out against feeding their voices into ai and stealing their character voices. Unless you have explicit permission from a VA, you should not be making ai-voiced anything with their characters.
If you wanna make fan-content, but can’t do voices, yourself, then get together with other fans or commission somebody. Or write the script and post it unvoiced.
There is no reason to do this.

Imagine Egg A1 still has one life left, and it somehow manages to escape the facility... It is being followed by mobs, by Federation employees, being hurt by the poison ivy and other environmental threats, but it keeps running, because what other choice is there? That parkour course was a trick after all, the last block was a fake, it was never meant to pass that test in the first place.
So it keeps running, but the Federation workers are getting closer. It won't be able to avoid them forever...
But then it bursts through some bushes and comes face to face with someone new - and it's Bad, out building or exploring or just wandering alone. A1 is immediately afraid, of course. It is a stranger, a very visually striking stranger, the complete opposite of the pure white and featureless employees of the Federation. But there are people close behind, and it knows what will happen to it if it is caught, so... It has no choice but to try. It has no way to communicate, no signs or books, so it simply rushes to hide behind him and hopes he understands, and that he is willing to help...
And Bad, for his part, well.. he's an extremely cautious and paranoid person, and this is just an incredibly confusing and unexpected situation to be in. An unknown egg appeared out of nowhere and is hiding behind him, he can see Federation employees in the distance that are clearly looking for something... He knows that the code has been disguising itself as eggs, and that the strange egg in front of him with no marks, no distinguishing features, an egg that he has never seen before, could easily be the code monster preparing to attack at any moment...
But there is absolutely no way Bad could ever look at an egg in distress and not try to help it, even knowing it could be a trap.
So he quickly digs a shallow hole and pushes the mysterious egg into it, covering it up just in time, and when the employees throw him a book asking if he had seen anything, he lies effortlessly, he complains about nonsense, he asks them where the Ekea is and is as annoying as he can be, until they leave.
And now they're alone... just Bad an this mystery egg in the middle of the woods, A1 too afraid to leave the hole even when Bad tries to coax it out. He gives it food and tries his best to comfort it, to tell it everything is okay and that the pursuers are gone. He gives it some signs and a book, trying to see if it will write anything to him or answer any of his questions, but he gets no reply. A1 is just too afraid to even attempt to answer, and Bad doesn't even know if it understands him. He tries what few words he does know of the other languages, and still no response.
What should he do? As much as the image of a tiny, terrified egg makes him want to do all he can for it he also needs to be safe. He can't bring it home, because if it is a code there is no way he is bringing it anywhere near Dapper. Should he call someone else for help, or would that draw too much attention? Would it even be safe for him or the egg to let anyone know right now? And was this egg dangerous, or harmless and in need of protection? He wouldn't abandon it regardless but...
What now?

“Even if you’re just curious about what an AI would spit out, please remember: everything you input into an AI? That shit stays in the AI. It’s never forgotten by the AI. And the AI uses it to generate more of its stolen amalgams of content. Artists and authors (yes, even fan artists and fan authors) do NOT want their work to be part of the databases of works stolen by AIs. It’s disrespectful, wrong, and downright mean to enable the theft of works created by other people. None of us are billionaires hoarding our IPs. We’re not faceless corporations. We’re people, just trying to live in a world that insists the only value we have is our work, and then devalues our work from every angle.”— user bibliophilea
to add onto this: if you’re THAT damn curious about AI - put your own work into it. you can absolutely consent to your own creations (art/words/etc) being fed into these systems, but you CANNOT filter in other’s without their explicit consent. that is officially stealing and plagiarizing someone else’s work.

an ai looks into the night sky
it sees a black plane
sprinkled with white dots
they are known as stars
every night, they stay in the same place
but when it moves to another town
some parts look familiar
yet ever so slightly different
predictably so, though
soon enough, it knows where every dot is
and where every dot would be
at any given place
and any given time
a human walks up to the ai
"Don't the stars look so beautiful tonight?"
the stars? they are the same as ever
"Don't you see it?"
see what?
"The bear."

just ended up sending in feedback about the layout to support.
But I have to say it here too, this new layout is such a pain in the ass to figure out. I hated twitter's layout for the same reason, its so annoying to use and everything feels so cluttered and squished in and distracting... it's actually headache inducing.
I really wish I had the option to switch back. I wish there was an option to CHOOSE between the two layouts. I wish I had the choice to opt out of "testing" this thing.
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it" really should have been brought up before they even tried making this. It was fine before, and now the new layout is completely different and frustrating when it didn't need to be.
If I wanted Twitter's layout, I would have just fucking gone to Twitter.

I refuse to hop in a Zoox car in my entire life if I can avoid it. I refuse to hop into any self-driving robo taxi (or robotaxi) that uses AI to keep it’s passengers “safe.” If this is actually a service they are legally allowed to provide publicly, there’s about to be a whole bunch of new laws made in hopefully very little time! Now you know me, obviously fuck the law, many laws are unjust, but sometimes we need some regulations to keep up with the shit that rich Silicon Valley tech bros “put out” while claiming it’s allegedly their own work. These rich bastards are dangerous! Now I’ll pass along the questions that my partner & I jokingly pondered. If something happens that the AI & detection systems doesn’t know how to handle, will us as the passengers be held legally responsible say if a child gets punted into the air by the self driving car & we can’t do anything to stop it? What if we’re asleep assuming the car is safe & it runs over a legally endangered animal? What if we’re on our phones & these self-driving robot cars cleave someone in half? What if it crashes into someone’s private property? Are we held responsible in any of these cases or is the big rich guy’s company? If it’s anything like Tesla, you should get your kids or pets out of the road when you see a Zoox car coming, it could allegedly cause some mortalities. Two more things. What’s stopping someone from hijacking, hacking, or planting a virus on these self-driving taxi services? What if one of them gets hijacked to take someone to a human trafficker meetup spot? Will the company be held responsible at all? The gifs below pretty much summarizes my feelings.
