If you wanna try to do it alone then he'll take your hand into his as you're grabbing the pen, slowly guiding it while praising you for how brave you are for trying this and that hes proud of you IM SOBBING

will also tell you to look at him if you get more afraid by seeing it on your skin

Honestly even if you dont wanna do it yourself, he'll make sure to be there and will praise you every time you get through with it bc you KNOW he means it

I just had this sudden thought at 5 AM and it's messy so I apologize in advance if it doesn't make sense or if it sounds weird. ― This idea is a slight like very slight crossover between MDZS and TGCF and it's kinda off angsty??? So YRZ still ascends but like at around a year or two late (so like around 17/18) and because of his ascension he's forcibly separated from like everyone, especially LWJ & WWX. So everything happens but he can't be with LWJ & WWX. - E 💕 (1/2)

In this AU, they're forced to move on (I know that they would actually fight to be with YRZ and vice versa). After they die or sum (this is just a 'what if') YRZ has LWJ's guqin, WWX's flute and paintings, basically things that belonged to them. And so 2K years pass and the whole TGCF mess happens, it's up to you if YRZ ends up being in a sandwich again with HC & XL or just friends, but how would they react to his past? When I thought about this I cried 💀💀✋ - E 💕(2/2)

I mean, wwx and lwj would pretty much have to be dead? if lwj was alive, yrz would absolutely 100% not go, no matter what. plus, as far as i know, when a person ascends, they’re allowed to take people with them who then become officials in the lower heavens. that’s how xl kept his retainers.

if yrz ascends at 17-18, that’s at the start of the sunshot campaign. lwj dies protecting yrz during the wen attack, and as consequence, wwx dies either killing the xanwu of slaughter all by himself or later of being shoved into the burial mounds from the wounds he got from killing the xanwu. So, wwx and lwj are dead at the start of the sunshot campaign, leaving yrz the full knowledge that, not only is he responsible for the death of his best friend and the protagonist of the story, but also for the possible loss of the entire war against the wen sect.

yrz would probably just kamikaze wen rohan to make up for his sins? like, full on, sure i’m dying but i’m taking you with me, except he ascends in the act of it. yrz would be a war god, and his name would probs be something like Mourning White Devours Sun, because he mourned both lwj and yrz for the entire war. he’s a patron god of gusu, naturally.

i think lxc would keep Wangji’s guqin until he died, and at that point he would give it to yrz as an offering. yrz wants to ascend lxc, but lxc refuses. he’s tired of living in a world without his brother and uncle, and he would like to rest. when he dies, yrz is horribly upset. lqr died years before, having never really recovered from losing his nephew, and his health was very fragile. he died early on. with lxc’s passing, yrz looses his last connection to gusulan and lwj, except Wangji the guqin.

wwx died before inventing demonic cultivation and therefore chenqing never existed. i think yrz has nothing to remember wwx by. or, when jc dies he does the same thing as lxc and offers up suiban, so it’ll stay with someone wwx loved forever. jyl and jzx both survive in this this universe, so yrz pays special attention to jyl’s lineage. it’s what wwx would’ve wanted. (this is where yrz realizes that wwx was in love with him, so more heartbreak yay!)

yrz would probably never really forgive himself, so he’s much much colder in this version. of course, in this universe, yrz has his brothers! so i think fourth brother and fifth brother would ascend with yrz, because the other three have children or/and spouses they don’t want to leave behind, and the family doesn’t want yrz to be alone for the rest of eternity. silver linings!

as for hua cheng and xie lian -- yrz would avoid them entirely. he’s already ruined one love story. he wouldn’t tolerate the slightest possibility of making it two.

he doesn’t need the weight of two more dead men on his conscious.
