Hotel anon here. I accidentally drank a little too much and started crying because I liked the way I'd styled my hair too much, and the shower was going to take the curls out. My boyfriend proceeded to try to comfort me and kept trying to hold my face and look me in the eyes, but I'm extremely uncomfortable with eye contact so my reaction was to keep looking away. My boyfriend was like "Baby why do you keep looking away? 🥺" and I'm still sobbing in that moment so I just wail out totally incoherently "Because I'm autistic, and it makes my eyes sad." And he just kind of stared at me for a moment before going "Well, I don't know what that means but let's try to get your contacts out okay, baby ❤?" in that pampering, infantilizing voice.
