it is nearly 1am and i have decided that now is the time to create a perfume through tumblr polls. if you don't see a favorite note here, i may be keeping it for a future frankenstein perfume poll. this is really a love letter to the purple prose of perfume copy and the world-building of indie perfumes. as such, i will create a fake perfume launch for our creation once our poll is done. please note that perfume is intended as a gender neutral term!

YALL. i’m so excited about this that i’m not gon do a fancy introduction!!

one of the colognes elvis wore, often in the 50s, was lenel for men. i have a bottle of it, and it’s absolutely delightful! the official notes aren’t written anywhere, but to me it smells like flowers with a classic cologne undertone and bit of baby powder!

now, i got a new bottle of perfume today: wild musk by coty. i never smelled it or anything, but it’s been around since 1972. figured it was worth a shot!

i opened the bottle, took a lil sniff, and immediately went “what does this smell like that i already own?”

…IT SMELLS LIKE THE FUCKING FEMININE VERSION OF ELVIS’ COLOGNE.

tldr; i’m gon make a post on all the colognes and perfumes related to elvis for my friends that also associate scent with memory <3

I got rien by etat libre d'orange and it smells like a damn church but if it isnt smoky and reeks of death so im calling it an ais scent now

Tho i wonder if the seaspring could smell like a church bc of all the smokiness

of course it has to be her.....glad you specified bottle only as she's not ranking highly for anything else. incredibly pedestrian floral and the longevity is a joke at the standard price - thank goodness i kept myself reigned in till i found it on sale. Fantasia also has a very charming bottle but with my expectations so low, ill wait till someone wants to get me a present and point them to a site where its discounted ^_^"

buuut, if we're talking of all the perfumes ive encountered since i became obsessed....Rothenstein's Deja Vu line ( x )

what are your fav fragrances that are just like.. *injects this directly into my veins*

esthée lauder pleasures has alway been one of my favorites ! just recentrly tried si lolita by lolita lempika and is sooo bold and fun just like it's bottle ! rain by clean is my version of a elegant, for work type of scent. tender light by esteé lauder ,,, i love the combination of chinese tea and bergamot… it smeels so divinely… heavelnly earthy. and lastly … floating by liis, a clean, fresh and absolutely lovely scent.

it’s wild how much emotion music can hold for a person years after the fact.

i find it funny konoha is always described as this super hot guy and apparently gets by dressing and acting weird as hell essentially bc of pretty privilege

re: my previous reblog on indolic fragrances - it is really so jarring to see how casually racist perfumery/perfume spaces are

There is a lot of shit in life at the moment so I've been trying to make an effort to find little moments of joy and also to remind myself that sometimes hard work does pay off as well.

I have always loved perfume and a silly little dream of mine has been to have a collection so I can pick and choose what scent I want to wear on any given day. Very superficial and frivolous of me but it is something I've always thought about.

In the last two years I've finally seen some pay off in my career to the point I actually have spare money to treat myself on occasion. So to try and honour that and stop myself feeling guilty for buying anything other than necessities I decided to make a space where I allow myself to feel joy without guilt and thoughts of what other people think about it.

do you have any scents/perfumes you associate with charlie? you should get his horse shirt and then spray something with that smell on the shirt and it would smell like him too-

Anon that is SUCH a great idea!! I’d have to think actually bc um. Ok I’m cackling rn um agdjfkgl really the only canon smell Charlie has that anyone has mentioned. Is cheese 😂 he eats a lot of cheese. So much cheese. That he smells like cheese. AHDJFKGGL

Um. But I do like to pick scents for f/o’s that kinda match their vibe 🥺 so im sure I could come up with a cologne or a mix of scents that seem like a cologne he would wear, if he chose to wear one 🥰
