Sorry about this being a really long anon but I just wanted to put in the email template so that people can contact belift about the situation and so that black engene can get the closure they deserve
EMAIL SUBJECT  :
ENHYPEN EN-CORE EP. 4 N-SLUR ALLEGATIONS.
EMAIL BODY  :
To Whom It May Concern,
It is of utmost concernment that you pay heed to this message.
I would like to call your attention to “[EN-CORE] ‘BORDER : CARNIVAL’ MUSIC SHOW BEHIND EP. 4” which was uploaded on ENHYPEN’s official YouTube channel on June 25, 2021.
At the timestamp of 10:51-10:54 of the YouTube video, a member had allegedly said the n-slur while singing SZA’s “Love Galore”. This is a serious issue, the slur should not ever be spoken or lip synced by people who are not black due to its oppressive, cruel and deep history of being used against black people. Therefore, it is only to be reclaimed by the black community. If someone said it, they must take responsibility and own up to it.
Fans have wanted the problem to be addressed with an apology, for a number of days. Withal, it appears that the entertainment company is continuing to ignore the matter at hand and attempting to ‘bury’ it with new ENHYPEN content. It is incredibly tone-deaf and consequently, fans of ENHYPEN, especially black fans, have been demanding a proper response. When black ENGENES and allies had attempted to grab your focus, posts, tags and accounts were blocked and taken down.
They have been posting on every platform there is to bring the issue to your attention, one of which in particular is the app, “Weverse”.
Black fans who want an explanation are not trying to end ENHYPEN’s careers or ruin their reputations, rather, they want clarity and accountability. They are not ‘antis’ and do not hate ENHYPEN.
However, many fans who are not black have taken the opportunity to believe that black fans are baselessly hating, and hence, they have responded with racism and insults to demine black people. Black ENGENES are being bullied relentlessly and it is proliferating because of your silence.
The following link contains evidence of vile and disturbing comments on Weverse towards black ENGENES :

HYBE has ventured into ‘globalisation’ blindly. BE:LIFT, under HYBE, have created ENHYPEN to be a global group, but the lack of an adequate response from ENHYPEN or BE:LIFT is making many people believe that the company only wants and has used international fans for money and fame. When becoming a globalised group, you must care for people of all races.
Your silence is allowing members of the ENHYPEN fandom to be racist and anti-black. This is negatively affecting people of the black community. Is the mental health of your black consumers not important? How can you turn a blind eye to the mistreatment of your own fans? This is not okay, and is not good enough on your behalf.
If you think that addressing the situation will ruin the reputation of ENHYPEN and their Japan debut, you are wrong. It’ll be alright so long as you provide the following:
- A proper statement that provides clarity on what happened on June 25,
- A genuine apology to the black community, especially black ENGENES, that were hurt by this situation &
- Education for your artists on racial issues and history.
Failure to do so will reap negative results. For example, many people may lose trust in HYBE CORPORATION and BE:LIFT LABS, antis will permanently mark ENHYPEN as ‘racists’, and ENHYPEN may lose thousands of fans if this is not faced correctly.
All ENGENES need a statement. Black ENGENES deserve an apology for the mistreatment by other fans, and if the n-slur was spoken. Fans request that you stop ignoring the issue at hand, and end the damage control.
Please speak up.
Sincerely,
Insert your name here so the email doesn’t get marked as spam.
