Infertility deals with female and male their maybe many reasons like in females hormonal related issues like pcos, endometrial thickness, ovulation issues, periodical issues, tubal blocks and many more problems. In males issues like problems regarding spermatozoa ( Oligospermia Azoospermia……), STD, Varicocele structural deformities are to be dealt. In Ayurveda Panchakarma treatment is a broad spectrum treatment which benefits all the health issues including our reproductive system also. There are many panchakarmas treat of infertility male and females. For example Uttar basti its specifically for reproductive system whose benefits differ according to the problem.
Uttar basti in females:- Uttar basti is a minor OT procedure which is done under sterilization and is targeted treatment on a female uterus. Your the medicine is dependent on what type of disease a female is facing like endometrial thickness, small fibroids, tubal block, history of ectopic pregnancy, history of missed abortion. It overall develops the uterine endometrial thickness and concentrates on healthy environment of uterus and the tubes. Uttar basti is a procedure same like IUI ( intrauterine insemination). It’s very simple procedure done on 4th 5th and 6th day of females cycle. Researches have seen best success rates of pregnancy if done before IVF, these researchers have been carried for the patients who are having high failure rates of IVF. For a healthy pregnancy natural and healthy environment of uterus is required which is provided by this treatment.
Uttar basti in males:- This type of treatment is done in males who are having issues with quality and quantity of sperms in semen. This is done like normal catheterization in male which again concentrates on testis, prostate gland and seminal vesicles this is where sperms get developed so when medicine decoction is concentrated on this area sperm development gets enhanced and results are in front of us.
There are many other Panchakarma treatments which concentrates on the reproductive health. Many times reproductive system is distorted due to other systemic issues so the other systems are to be corrected first. SOCIAL EGG FREEZING
Fertility preservation via egg freezing was originally offered to women for oncology or medical reasons, but in today’s era there is a big shift, and “Social Egg Freezing” is available to every woman who is concerned about her fertility.
Social egg freezing is also known as “Planned Oocyte Preservation”. It is the process by which any woman of childbearing age can freeze her eggs for the purpose of giving birth to a child at a later date. So, here we are using medical technology to respond to a non-medical problem i.e. natural aging. The reproductive age of a woman is limited by her ‘biological clock’. With increasing age, there is a gradual decline in her fertility. A woman is most fertile from 20 to 30 years of age and thereafter it decreases gradually and faster after 35 years. This is because the quantity and quality of women’s eggs diminish with age.
The role of women in today’s world has changed significantly and for the better. More and more women are now pursuing higher education and have better work opportunities. So, by the time the woman completes her education, gets a suitable job, gets married, and starts planning a pregnancy the egg reserve is sometimes already gone. This can lead to difficulty in conceiving.
Planned oocyte preservation comes as a boon for these groups of women who prefer to delay motherhood. Egg freezing technology provides an opportunity to extend their fertility by freezing and storing unfertilized eggs. Many workplaces too have started to weigh in on this technology and in a bid to attract female talent, companies like Uber, Facebook, and Apple offer female employees the option to freeze their eggs. Even Indian companies like ‘Accenture India’ and ‘We work India’ are offering medical cover to employees for egg freezing.
Planned oocyte preservation is done by the process of IVF. Medicines are given for hormone ovarian stimulation and once the eggs are ready, transvaginal retrieval of eggs is done. These eggs are then cryopreserved at -196oC. Whenever a pregnancy is desired, the frozen eggs are thawed and fertilized with sperm via a process called Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) and implanted into the uterus. Research suggests that a single pregnancy may be achieved on an average from about 10-15 frozen eggs.

Since social egg freezing is safe, it is widely accepted and more and more women are coming forward for their fertility preservation. But before going ahead with the process, proper counseling of the concerned woman should be done, where all aspects of the process are discussed with her.

How does pelvic endometriosis affect pregnancy?
How does pelvic endometriosis affect pregnancy?
Endometriosis is often the main cause of infertility which affects 10% of women. Endometriosis is a painful condition, where the endometrial lining grows outside the uterus into other areas of the abdominal cavity. Endometrial tissues normally line the inner wall of the uterus but in this condition may grow outside of the uterine wall, such as ovaries, fallopian tubes, pelvis, and in worse cases in the intestine, rectum, bladder, vagina, etc. The main symptom of endometriosis is pelvic pain, often associated with menstrual periods. Other symptoms include: Pain with intercourse, pain with bowel movements or urination, excessive bleeding and you may experience fatigue, diarrhea, constipation, bloating, or nausea, especially during menstrual periods. This disorder commonly occurs in women of reproductive age. The endometrial tissue present elsewhere, outside the uterus, also grows and bleeds every month, like normal menstruation. This results in collection of menstrual blood in the ovary, pelvis, bladder, etc. This collection causes pain. The blood collected causes irritation of surrounding tissue, eventually developing scar tissue and adhesions which causes organs to bind with each other. Endometriosis can result in infertility when there are lesions in the fallopian tubes that cause blockages, preventing sperm from reaching the egg. In some cases, the reproductive organs become fused together because of the scarred tissues, which prevents the release of eggs and the normal cycle is disrupted. Endometriotic lesions also cause cysts in the ovaries that halt proper ovulation or egg production. Endometriosis can influence fertility in several ways: it can distort the anatomy of the pelvis due to the adhesions, which bind to organs, scarred fallopian tubes, inflammation of the pelvic structures, altered immune system functioning, disrupts the hormonal levels which in turn affects ovulation, impaired implantation of a pregnancy, egg quality is altered, etc. Women with mild endometriosis, as visualized by laparoscopy, may conceive naturally. Laparoscopic ablation of endometriotic spots, restoration of pelvic anatomy may help women conceive spontaneously or with intrauterine inseminations (IUI). Women with moderate to severe endometriosis, especially ovarian endometrioma of > 3cm, may require surgical excision before proceeding to assisted reproductive technologies. At GarbhaGudi, We have helped thousands of couples in conceiving and have onboard a team of the best infertility specialists like gynaecologists, surgeons, embryologists, technicians, and staff who will develop a personalized fertility treatment plan for each couple.

For some couples, becoming pregnant is a challenge. Ten to 15 percent of couples in India are infertile. Infertility is the inability to get pregnant despite having frequent, unprotected sex for at least a year. Although many couples are really subfertile rather than infertile, they are often considered infertile when they haven't conceived despite trying for one year.
This is usually the point to start seeking medical support as the monthly chance of pregnancy is 4 percent or less after one year. A faster evaluation may be appropriate for women over the age of 35, when there are known medical conditions that interfere with fertility, or if trying to conceive causes significant stress.

I think our next step with our baby making journey is IVF and that terrifies me for many reasons.
- IVF does not guarantee a baby
- Injections - need I say more.
- The side effects and the hormones.
- Hassle with work - time for regular bloods and ultrasounds, plus collection/ transfer day and a few days off following those.
- the money. It's a lot of money, it's our maternity leave money, and see point below.
- Theres a high chance we will need 2 (or more even) cycles. $34k. To make a baby. Something 7/8 get so easily.
It sucks so bad that this is what we are thinking about, I feel like our journey isnt long enough to 'deserve'IVF. But you know when you really want something, and its out of your control, and every month it just doesnt happen and slowly the want gets more and more and the heart break gets harder and harder? It's happening and it flippin sucks.
I've been feeling the need to speak about infertiltiy lately so sharing this on here in my first step to possibly sharing something on instagram.
