Block Printing, a primitive yet beautiful printing technique is slowly and steadily trying to win its place in the world of Sustainable Fashion. An unusual observation, each print, each motif tells a story in itself.  The design is first carved out of a wooden block. Whenever the Printer strikes the block on the fabric, he leaves an Imprint of a story - A peacock dancing with the onset of rains, or a face that has no expression and is filled with emotions that lie in eyes of the viewer. The rustics prints, the irregularities makes this print unique and give it individuality.
Vritti Designs, is also playing its role that it can in keeping this Art and its traditions alive  by working with The Craftsmen  whilst keeping up with the spirit of Ethical Trading.

From silk strands found in jewelry excavated from Harappa and Chanhu-Daro, and a cotton fragment found attached to a metal tool in Mohenjo-Daro, to modern synthetic fabrics, India’s journey in the field of textile is long and chequered. The story of textiles in India is one of the oldest in the world. The earliest surviving Indian cotton threads date to around 4000 BC and dyed fabrics from the region are documented as far back as 2500 BC. India’s textiles were so central to its identity abroad that in ancient Greece and Babylon the very name ‘India’ was shorthand for ‘cotton’. Among the most famous weaves of India is the fine cotton muslin that has been the leading textile export to different parts of the world in ancient and medieval times. Muslin finds mention in different old travel accounts of the Chinese, Italian, and Arabic traders and in the Arthashastra, where it is mentioned as fine cloth from Pundra and Bangla, the Bengal Janapadas. https://manasvini.co/ . . . #Manasvini #textile #TextileofIndia #India #Fabrics #FabricsofIndia #Weaving #artofindia #productlaunch #homedecorinspo #homedecors #homedecorblogger #handmadecreations #handmadegoods #art #craft #rootofindia #homedecor #homedecoration #homedecorating #homedecorindia #homdecorlovers #homedecorideas #homedecorlove #homedecorationinspiration #homedecortionideas #homedecorcommunitylove #indianart #indianartgallery #indianartwork #indianartandculture #indianartsy #indianartcollectors #india See less

The Great Indian Fabric | Wedding Sarees | Online Shopping | Sundari Silks
The integration of South Indian art and culture can be clearly traced in the craftsmanship of our loom. The weavers were inspired by huge temples with religious significance and derived symbolic meanings from its architecture.
The gopurams of Meenakshi Amman temple in Madurai, the Ranganathaswamy temple in Srirangam and the Ekambareshwarar temple in Kanchipuram are representative of the highly evolved Dravidian temple architecture style. These man-made marvels made their way to the drapes and are now an integral part of it.

Today Block printing, a dying Indian Art is being revived by sustainable textile designers and the organic clothing industry. This revival is a beautiful sight for the sore eyes of the Indian artisans and craftsmen, who had lost all hope to keep their traditions or livelihood alive. Al Maun has a marvelous relationship with Islamic art and culture. Al Maun has been established by those master craftsmen whose ancestors were masters craftsmen in islamic art and culture. who were brought by Mughals for build magnificent monuments in India. They combined Indian art with Islamic art together and laid the foundation for amazing art in India.
Tumblr media
They used to design Islamic geometry pattern, lattice craft and Inlay craft, then make that art in monument in accordance with design. As time passes through, they started passing out their arts in India, and settled down in India. They built unmatched samples of their arts in many historical monument such as The Taj Mahal, Lal Qila etc. in India. As the monuments were turned out of trend, they went on changing their arts and started making those arts on other stone objects. The number of master craftsmen started decreasing due to no more monuments build in India, and some master craftsmen left, who strated selling these arts, by make these arts on other stone objects. They although got gardener weak yet they kept making those arts, so that these arts could be saved. The many centuries passed and the master craftsmen kept saving their arts. Al Maun has been also important part of this mission. Who is trying to save these arts from ending and to make people aware of these, so that more and more people can get knowledge about this art and connect with that.
