so, my best friend was in the second group that met the guys and she told me that:
rocco is gorgeous and really shy
beatrice was there and she’s a goddess
pietro is a sweetheart, extremely nice and he hugged whoever asked
rocco said federico is a good kisser
pietro was asked “which member of the boy squad filippo would date” and he said it would be elia, but he probably would like to hook up with all the boys
rocco would like to specialise in psychiatry
bessegato said that in his opinion the og is untouchable and he almost worship it and he’ll never say a remake is better than an other and/or the og
rocco doesn’t like labels

160219: skam italia x gay center event (part 1)
it’s going to be really hard for me to recap everything that happened yesterday, so i’m going to split this in two parts: one dedicated to the conference and one to the moment when we actually met them and took pictures etc. i’m sure all the things i’m going to report were already said yesterday in tweets and stuff but i wanted to have a place to write them all down cause my memory is so bad. warning: this got long.
the conference
first of all, kudos to the gay center’s staff. so many people came they couldn’t fit them all in the conference room, so they decided to have a second shorter session so that no one would go home disappointed. they also said that afterwards we’d be able to take selfies and meet pietro, rocco and federico
spoiler alert: pietro, rocco and federico are literal angels. so sweet, funny, honest, humble, intelligent and well-spoken. ludovico bessegato is confident, smart and a savage. he dragged the whole fandom and yet we still love him cause he’s a genius
as soon as ludovico stepped on stage he made it clear that this was not an event about skam only and to please respect that. he said that they wouldn’t talk about season 3 and not to ask about it, and that’s why no info came out
the conference started with a presentation of the gay center. their representative introduced the work they do with the gay help line and talked about really heartbreaking cases of lgbt youth (12 and 14 year olds) who called to report violence from their own families. it was really hard to hear. they showed statistics of discrimination in italy and other data. their point was that skam s2 shows a positive reality where martino is able to come out to his friends and live his truth and his love, but unfortunately we have to be aware that these terrible realities exist too, especially in this country
the skam section started with a question to ludovico about his choice to include the voice messages in the first scene of s2. we watched that scene. he said he knew he wanted to do it from the start but recording and adding the voice messages was the last thing they did, one week before the release of the first clip. he came to the gay center in rome and met the young people and recorded the messages with them (i’m sorry, i’m not sure this is accurate) and he was moved to tears. that’s when he realized how important what they were doing with this season was. he said it was important for him, before showing the easiness of two people who can be together without external hardships, to start the season with the voice messages, as a reminder that these realities also exist
the host asked what was the most important thing for him, what he felt more responsible showing, and ludovico said for him it was the reaction of a group of heterosexual friends to one of their friends coming out. without dramatizing it or simplifying it too much. so the coming out with gio was the hardest scene cause there was a lot of weight on it. giovanni also had to be worthy of the moment. i loved this part: he said for him it was fundamental that giovanni touched martino right after his coming out, because it shows that nothing has changed between them, that they can still have a physical friendship, because so many times this doesn’t happen, straight friends pull back from/become less physical with their gay friends. their friendship not only hasn’t changed but is made more precious now
ludovico researched stuff like the gay street and grindr by experimenting them himself. he went to the gay street in rome and had a mission to get hit on (and he was lmao) and who did he meet that night? ROCCO, who went to the audition the morning after! incredible, he said he didn’t know rocco’s sexual orientation or anything but because he had seen him at the gay street he knew he could help give his input to the series, and of course pietro was precious as well to help with the representation
we watched the coming out scene and it was federico’s turn for questions (you could hear he had a cold, bb), the host asked him about how he felt/prepared for it and he said he felt a lot of pressure but he basically let martino lead him, he trusted his character that he had worked so hard on day after day and he also leaned on ludovico tersigni and bessegato. he hopes as many people as possible can relate to that scene, see themselves in it and live it
federico said the series enlighted him and made him reflect on lgbt themes and problems. he was never one to use homophobic slurs to follow the logic of the “pack” but it’s a thing, when you’re 15 or 16 you think you have to conform to what your friends say and do even if it’s harmful but this is why we have to spread awareness (”bisogna evitare il grigiume dell’uniformità” - we have to avoid the greyness of uniformity, he’s such a poet)
special mention to federico’s beautiful sweater, apparently he bought it in oslo, that sweater made his shoulders look even broader and it’s my new religion
we watched the milan uramaki/wedding proposal scene and BITCH I HAD NEVER REWATCHED THAT PART CAUSE IT HURTS i swear we were all holding our breaths. that’s when the host asked rocco about gay marriage and he said italy is very late but at least we have civil unions now and it’s been hard fought for. it’s important to talk about gay marriage not so much for younger gens but for older generations. discriminations are always present so you can’t relax even when you reach a goal, you have to fight for the next one
when asked how he pictures his wedding, rocco said marriage is very far in the future for him, but whoever it’s going to be with his wedding is going to be very normal (”everyone naked is not a bad idea tho”) and y’all already know this part, he said he’s a person who’s experimented a lot and he HATES LABELS, for himself and for others (so maybe don’t call him pan king, u know what i’m saying). he’s experimented a lot and tried to figure out what he likes and he likes a little bit of everything (ME PIACE NPO DE TUTTO. i was there. i was there when he said that. iconic) he understands the need for labels cause they can help you identify yourself and give a sense of belonging but there’s also the risk that they can be too limiting
we watched fili’s speech and fede blew a kiss to pietro??? my heart
EMMA STA A ROSICA’ - cit pietro turano (emma is jealous af)
at this point besse DRAGGED US TO HELL AND BACK he said the fandom gets mad at emma and when characters say things that are wrong but it’s hypocritical (cause it’s a realistic show, no?)
he dragged the tumblr sjw politically correctness of fandom and something about how we all say we accept and love everyone but then WE are the first who feel the need to put labels on people and people in boxes. he said IT’S COOL TO HAVE NOORA’S QUOTE IN YOUR BIOS BUT DO ANY OF YOU ACTUALLY STICK TO ITS MEANING? YOU’RE THE FIRST WHO AREN’T KIND smth like that i swear i was a bit stunned
he also really didn’t like how everyone spoiled scenes and clips, ruining the experience for everyone while also creating false expectations, cause we expect things to happen and get mad if they don’t (ngl as a person who hasn’t watched the og i was like yeah tell em). idk, basically at the end of the speech all i got is that he’s an emma apologist
pietro said so many amazing things, like that when we have that moment of awareness, when we realize we are victims of behavioral schemes, prejudices and stereotypes deeply rooted in society, that’s when we can change the world. idk he’s seriously such a well-spoken smart person and he’s only 22
he also said in a video i have posted here that positive lgbt representations in tv shows/films are SO important for young people cause they need to see that there’s a positive reality out there for them too, that gay characters aren’t only the psychos, the ones who kill themselves or suffer
host dragged ludo for not including a beyonce song in the gay season but he said we can expect satisfactions from fili in s3
fede took the gay test and ludo told him the answers to get the totally hetero results, but when ludo took the test his result was Not totally hetero
rocco knows he looks like edward cullen, actually it was his first girlfriend when he was like 14 and before twilight was a thing that told him that he looked like cedric diggory aka rob pattinson. when twilight happened it all went downhill. the vampire outfit in the halloween clip was Not Casual. actually they had a line when someone told nico he looked like edward but it didn’t make the cut
fede said the hardest scenes, not because he couldn’t get in character but because of the expectations and pressures were the ones with mamma rametta (<333) and the coming out with gio. but the scene he hated the most was the i wanna be yours scene cause he said he went cross-eyed (è venuta di merda - it came out like shit)
host asked who’s top and bottom and they all laughed about it don’t worry (although i know someone asked again in the second session? and they said they switch idk, whatever)
at the end there was not a lot of time for questions but as soon as the host asked if we had any i IMMEDIATELY shot my hand up cause i thought i would regret it if i didn’t ask. so i stood up and pietro came to give me the mic (<33333333) and I WAS SO NERVOUS but i thanked them for all their work and then i asked rocco how he felt representing a character that’s not only lgbt but suffers from a mi, that he did a WONDERFUL job doing it because he helped so many people who suffer from bpd/mi to identify with niccolò (i accidentally said multiple personality disorder instead of borderline and i am so embarrassed but i swear. i couldn’t. think. i apologized too) if he felt he had more responsibility and if he could talk about the milan scene. he said he did feel a double responsibility and an additional pressure because henrik holm already did a splendid job, but he dealt with it like any other role, worked on the character like any other and tried to do it justice. he didn’t treat it differently. the milan scene was hard cause it was the very last one they did but they also had so much fun. he told us about bessegato pranking him and making him yell TABBBBASCOOOOO when he was running around naked in milan
i feel like i should mention that in the second session rocco said federico is a really good kisser (”bacia da dio” literally means “kisses like a god”)
that’s all i have and sorry this was so long. the conference was truly incredible. but meeting them afterwards was even more so and that’ll be part 2

Omosessuali, rom, disabili le vittime senza nome dell’Olocausto
Tumblr media
Aktion T4, Porrajmos e Omocausto.
I rom erano spesso analfabeti”.

INCONTRO GAY CENTER
This is all taken from cherylwitch and httpbenzoash on Twitter 💙
Rocco talking about gay marriage (I think): “It was a fundamental goal, long awaited and long fought for , because Italy is one of the countries where it took longer to get to this goal; other countries got to it 10 years ago so it was about time that Italy opened its eyes to this reality that has been exsisting for millenniums”
Rocco talking about the scene in Milan: “I treated it like any other scene, without being blocked by anxiety or anything; I did my job together with Ludovico hoping that everything would go well. I didn’t face it any differently that any other easy or difficulty scene, I put myself in the character’s shoes and did my usual psychological job and it went well. Surely it was one of the more difficult to shot, also because we shot it chronologically late, almost at the end, the last day when we went to Milan, so while I was shooting the other scenes I always had this Damocles sword of the scene, so...”
Ludovico took the gay test (his result wasn’t “completely heterosexual”) and the suggested the answers to Fede
They showed the scene of the uramaki and people asked Rocco what he thinks about marriage and he said “I sperimented a lot in my life, under a lot of aspects and I don't like any kind of label”
Ludovico and the crew went to the gay street to gather information about the LGBTQ community and met Rocco there
Federico about the kiss in the bar: “Emma was green with envy”
People were comparing Rocco to Edward Cullen and he said that his first girlfriend always said that he looked like Cedric Diggory
Rocco was apparently yelling “Tabasco” while running naked in Milan

160219: skam italia x gay center event (part 2)
the best part, but also the one that’s a lot more personal. i’ve already talked about it a bit here and here (and a lot on twitter) so i tried not to be a broken record about how amazing they are but i failed. rambly, long and includes pictures.
meeting federico, rocco and pietro
there was a lot of confusion while the second session of the conference was happening and we were waiting outside. we didn’t know if we’d be let back in to take selfies, if they would come out. people kept running from the exit to the front door around the corner, it was a mess, i was literally the “why are you running?” vine guy. but i knew i would stay no matter what, i couldn’t give up. this went on for about an hour, then they came out
now, words can’t describe the boys’ kindness and patience. pietro, rocco and federico were surrounded by people and they took a picture with every single person who asked. they cheerfully greeted everyone. they smiled to everyone. they thanked everyone. federico obviously had a cold and wasn’t feeling well yet there he was, standing for 1 hour in the cold in a corner of the street taking pictures with hundreds of people. i don’t know how someone can be so sweet. even when bessegato was threatening them cause he was hungry (”roccooo, i wanna go to dinner, i’m hungry roccooo”) they still stayed until everyone had taken a selfie with them. pietro was the first to be done and he still hung around and chatted with some of us, even when his boyfriend was there and he could’ve done literally anything else
pietro was the first to start taking pictures in front of the rainbow wall. then rocco came and was cornered immediately. at some point someone suggested he also moved to the rainbow wall cause the lighting was better there (and it was a cute background for pics, that’s where they were all supposed to take them). people started saying that federico had left and i was already heartbroken lmao but then there he was, where rocco was standing earlier. for the first half hour both rocco and federico had 30/40 people around them at any given moment so i decided to wait it out and ask pietro first
disclaimer: i have a big problem, i can never remember conversations. unfortunately i don’t remember the exact words they said or even what i said to them, only some things. i’m so sad cause i get one chance to talk to them and don’t remember the words they told me? i hate this
when it was my turn with pietro i said hi and asked if i could hug him and he was like “ciaooo, of course”. so i hugged him and he was like rocking me a bit (cute) and i started thanking him, i told him his presence in the cast is so important and that i can’t wait for season 3 because fili will be the star of it. he smiled at me and thanked me too. he’s such a bright person, so kind and witty. i asked if we could take a polaroid together and he was happy to, he put his arms around me and we took the picture <3 i thanked him again and got another hug
beatrice (sana) was there too! she was alredy in the audience during the conference, standing right behind me, and god she is the most stunning girl i’ve ever seen. she’s so smol but gorgeous. some people were asking her for a selfie, so i approached her too and said hi and told her i was happy she came. i was like “can i hug you?” and she was a total sweetheart like “of courseee, sorry my hands are a bit full” cause she was holding her purse and stuff. then i asked for a polaroid and she was like “omg yes, that’s so cool!” and before we took the pic my bisexual jumped out and i was like “by the way, you are so beautiful (bellissima), you’re divine, i’m embarrassed (as in not worthy) of taking a picture with you” and she made a face like she was shocked because i was complimenting her. humble queen. we took the polaroid and i thanked her and then moved to federico’s little crowd and started waiting for my chance
i took some pictures of fede while he was interacting with other fans because he was just too cute. looking at this boy is like staring at the sun, you can’t, he’s blinding, so bright and wonderful. a girl that was at the convention in oslo in december asked him if he remembered her and he went “OF COURSE I REMEMBER!” and hugged her so tight
Tumblr media
then it came, the moment i was waiting for and hoping for so much. i’m sorry but i’m going to be all cheesy and rambly here. if you know me even just a little bit because you follow me, you know martino rametta is my favorite character. you know i worship federico cesari as an actor and as a person and i find him utterly gorgeous. for me, going to this event meant having the chance maybe to look him in the eyes and say “thank you”, for martino and for everything, that was my dream. and it happened. oof, here we go
he looked at me and i said “hi, can i hug you?” and he was like of course, and hugged me. and. okay. okay. i feel silly saying this but even thinking about it, i can still feel his arms around me. his sweater and the jacket he was wearing on top of it were so soft and warm and i can FEEL the sensation of his arms because his hugs are so. good. federico cesari is the best hugger. if i had to describe him the first word that comes to my mind is solid. he’s solid. he hugs you so tight and strokes your back and makes you feel so warm and safe. see this picture below? that’s pietro. but THAT’S how federico hugs you. federico hugs you like this
Tumblr media
we hugged for like 5/10 seconds and i had my chin on his shoulder (do you understand? i had my head resting on his SHOULDERS his broad beautiful shoulders) and while he was still hugging me i started saying this: “thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart, for everything”. at this point i pulled back- because i wanted to look him in the eyes and i said “i can’t explain to you everything that martino means to me” and i think i said something else, maybe thanked him for bringing the character to life so well, and he looked at me with the cutest, softest, most grateful smile and he DID HIS 🙏 THING and HE thanked ME (why can’t i remember the words it’s so unfair). i don’t know how i didn’t burst into tears in front of him. i asked him if we could take a polaroid and i didn’t know if we should take a selfie, he was like “doesn’t it have a mirror?” And i was like “no.. maybe if someone can take it”, so i gave the camera to a girl and he put his arm around my shoulder and we took the picture. of course out of all the pics i’ve taken with everyone i look the worst in the pic with him, the sunshine of my life. of course. then because polaroids are tricky and i wanted to make sure to have a picture with him i apologized and asked for a selfie too and he was like sure, don’t worry, so we took one with my phone. i turned around, thanked him, and hugged him. and he hugged me so tight, again, and this time idk what compelled me to do it but i literally hid my face in his shoulder and just stood there for a couple of seconds. then i said bye and left because there were so many people still waiting. but god. i just wish i could remember the words. because the feeling is still so vivid, so clear in my head. i’m overwhelmed when i think about him. how can someone like him exist? so down to earth, kind, precious, someone who has a cold but isn’t bothered by a crowd of fans cornering him outside, someone that hugs a stranger and makes her feel at home? i don’t know. i can’t shake the feeling of warmth that he gave me. i just hope i can meet him and hug him again someday, and thank him again, cause i could thank him a million times and it would never be enough
now i only had rocco left and i had planned on giving him a fanart as a gift. at this point there were maybe 15 people left around him and i had no rush, because if i was one of the last it also meant i had more time to talk to him. so i let people go before me, i helped a girl with her own polaroid and then it was my turn. i said hi and he had the brightest smile already, i hugged him (asked if i could hug him, idk why, i asked everyone,i just think it’s kind) and as soon as i did i was like “rocco i’m so sorry i said the name of niccolò’s disorder wrong because i was so nervous i’m not going to sleep at night over this” and he looked at me like trying to put the pieces together and he went AAH (because he remembered it was me who asked the question during the conference) and like “don’t even worry about it come on”). now my memory really sucks but i think i thanked him again for the work he did on the show. maybe i can’t remember cause i was dazed by his smile and his voice, rocco is such a bright guy and good at making conversation and people laugh. either way, i probably told him something about nico. then i was like “before we take a picture, i wanted to give you this” and i gave him the fanart and he was SO IN AWE so impressed he kept going “are you crazy this is beautiful, so beautiful” and i told him it was a commision, yeah the artist is 16 can you believe and he went “16??? the most i could do at 16 was stick figures” and a girl went “YEA CAUSE U WERE ALREADY PLAYING LIKE BEETHOVEN” why is he so humble. anyway he was genuinely thankful and i was so happy. we took a polaroid and a selfie together, and the polaroid came out so well i want to hug it to my chest everytime i look at it. his smile!!!!!! i hugged him again and said bye and then, technically i was supposed to leave, but i didn’t want to??? i didn’t want it to be over
i stuck around a bit cause i didn’t want to leave and joined a group of girls talking to pietro. they were talking about season 3 and he was all cheeky like “you’ll see. you’ll see. we know it’s in march, right? so... at most it’s 45 days. but... what day is it today? the 16th. it can also be 15 days. 15 to 45 days” and i joked and said “you know everything you say can be held against you on twitter, right?” and everyone laughed and he was like “yes thats why i’m being vague” or smth. then a girl asked him about last year’s pride, cause he’s one of the organisers and she had met him there. i said i was happy because this year would be my first pride, cause i moved to rome. i said i moved 10 days ago from lucca and he was like “welcome, roma è una città di merda (rome is a shit city, lmao)”
i saw a small crowd had finally managed to take federico to the rainbow wall to take a really cute group pic and i almost thought i’d ask him for another polaroid cause the one with rocco in front of the wall had come out so cute, but then i thought i wouldn’t bother him, cause they were the last ones and then he took out his phone and started walking, looking a bit exhausted
at this point i only had one regret and that was not taking a picture of rocco with the fanart i gave him. so, as i was still hanging around and almost no one was left, i saw rocco with bea holding his fanarts and moved to them. i apologized a lot and said “rocco i’m so sorry for bothering you but i was thinking if i could take a picture of you and the fanart so i can send it to the artist?” and i hadn’t even noticed he was starting to roll a cigarette when i went to them, i was so embarrassed, but he just put the filter back in his pocket and was like “you’re right (giustamente), yes, of course” and he was struggling a bit to hold it with the other fanart so i was like “if you want i can help you” and he thanked me and passed me the other (bigger) fanart. then you all saw the picture! he was so smiley and happy. we talked a bit about the art and my brain blanked, i could have talked to him about anything because there was no one around but i couldn’t think. i said i had a girl do it for me when nel mio letto came out, the very same day, when i was working at lucca comics, “do you know them?” “yeah, sure!” “i’m from lucca. i moved here only 10 days ago” “aaah, lucca. and do you miss it?” “mhh, no” and he grinned and was like “like all of us who leave the province for the big cities, we never miss the province”. at this point i truly don’t remember anything about how i ended the conversation but i probably told him i didn’t wanna bother him anymore, and that i hoped to see him again. i asked if i could hug him one last time and of course he said yes so we hugged. god he’s so sweet. and look at him showing off the fanart to federico i’m in tears
Tumblr media
and that is it. i mean. i’m sorry this was long as fuck. but i wanted to have all my memories in one place. i wish i could i remember so much more, specific words or moments. but my excitement played tricks on me. it was still an unforgettable experience. both the conference and meeting them. a dream come true. i feel so lucky and blessed. to think i moved to rome and 10 days later i got to meet them. i am so grateful to all of them for all their patience and kindness. hopefully there will be other opportunities in the future, cause now that i’ve met them i just want the chance to spend even more time with them. they are incredible people. if the world was full of people like federico cesari, rocco fasano and pietro turano, it would be a better place. lastly, the pictures i took with them. if you made it this far, what can i say, thank you for your patience too
