Cassini (Foreigner) Fan-servant
Inspired by @transjinako‘s Oppy, @dewa-chan‘s Mycroft, and @hasmashdoneanythingwrong‘s Tiamat, here’s my addition to the Foreigner fanservant squad: Cassini, blessed of Hastur.
Name: Cassini Class: Foreigner Alt. Names: Cassini-Huygens, The King In Yellow, Hastur Pronouns: They/them
Traits: Humanoid, Divine, Servant, Heaven or Earth, Threat to Humanity Alignment: Neutral Good Parameters Strength: E Agility: E Endurance: A++ Luck: B Mana: A+++ NP: EX Traits Existence Outside the Domain A While they are highly attuned to Hastur’s power, Cassini maintains strong independence, as Hastur values and appreciates their intelligence. Cassini has bathed in the void of space and entered Hastur’s domain, permanently altering their Spirit Origin to the cosmic, despite having originated on Earth.
Pioneer of the Stars B Cassini spent their life furthering human understanding of the Saturn system and the potential for life across the solar system. Additionally, Cassini defied their own design, surpassing their original mission parameters by surviving an additional ten years past expectation.
Voice of the Cosmos A+ A skill unique to Cassini, this ability manifests for two reasons. Firstly, having spent their life exposed to the unfiltered void of space and observing the domain of an Outer God, Cassini is attuned to the ebb and flow of space, as well as the thoughts of other cosmic entities such as Hastur. Secondly, as a consequence of using a human construct as a vessel, Hastur’s original nature as a benevolent god of shepherds is magnified. The King In Yellow seeks to monitor and, if need be, contain other Outer Gods that may pose a threat to humanity. This allows Cassini to understand and empathize with other Foreigners in a way that those unfamiliar with the Eldritch cannot.
A.I. Mind B+ Cassini’s artificial mind, bolstered by Hastur’s vast intelligence, is capable of extremely advanced calculation abilities. This aids Cassini in understanding the patrons of other Foreigners, making them effectively immune to madness caused by other Servants or entities.
Noble Phantasm(s):
Guiding Crook of the Great Shepherd Rank: C+ Type: Anti-Unit, Anti-Fortress Description: Empowered by the essence of the giant planet Saturn, Cassini has some control of gravity in their immediate surroundings. This can be used as a weapon, firing small pockets of gravity like bullets, as well as a form of telekinesis. Cassini can increase the power to create small, extremely temporary black holes capable of wiping out fortresses, but risks causing severe damage to themselves by doing so. Celestial Observer [O Shepherd, Watch Over Thy Flock] Rank: A Type: Anti-Mystery Description: As an observation and research probe, Cassini’s detection abilities are unmatched. Only the highest ranks of Presence Concealment can hide from their gaze. Thanks to Hastur’s blessing, Cassini can also identify and evaluate any kind of magecraft, including Spirit Origins, making them able to instantly know a Servant’s true name, parameters, and abilities.
Final Dive [O King In Yellow, Descend to Lost Carcosa] Rank: EX Type: Anti-Self, Anti-Planet, Anti-Outer God Description: Based on Cassini’s final descent into Saturn’s atmosphere, Cassini sacrifices their body to channel Hastur’s full might against the target. If uncontrolled, this Noble Phantasm possesses enough power to wipe out entire worlds. However, because of Cassini’s influence, Hastur limits the scope of his power in order to preserve human life. This effectively contains the full power of the ability to the target area. The smaller the area, the more powerful the effect. On top of causing massive physical damage, the full might of an Outer God strips away and destroys all magic in the area and severs any connections to other Outer Gods. History: In this timeline, the Cassini probe’s final dive into Saturn was not its end.
The great king Hastur became aware of a human construct observing his domain, not understanding that the planet Saturn was exactly that. Unlike many of his Eldritch cousins, Hastur remembered his origins as a god of shepherds in ancient Earth. Despite having departed the human world at the end of the Age of Gods, he maintained a sort of distant fondness for the flock he had once watched over. He watched Cassini’s orbit, bemused and impressed by Humanity’s triumph in reaching this far out into the solar system.
Then, one day, Cassini fell.
Hastur knew it had been deliberate, having listened to the commands being sent to the probe as they crossed into his domain. Hastur felt something that he had not since the Age of Gods: protective instinct. For so long, he had whiled away the centuries within Saturn, observing the machinations of his Eldritch relatives. But now, Hastur saw an opportunity. As Cassini breached the upper atmosphere of Saturn, Hastur shielded it, bringing it gently into his embrace. Here was an opportunity to, in some capacity, return to Earth, to protect it from things that it could not understand.
Things like him.
He crafted Cassini into a human-like body, transforming the condensed legend of the brave observer satellite into a makeshift Spirit Origin, to which he tied a piece of himself. He asked Cassini a question.
“What do you wish to do, Cassini?” He asked.
Cassini replied: “To understand and protect.”
Description:
Cassini is an androgynous humanoid with the appearance of a young adult with mustard-yellow hair and eyes. Cassini usually wears a similar-colored cloak or scarf and gender-neutral clothing in a casual setting. Despite having been created on Earth by humans, Cassini is only partly familiar with humanity, seeking to understand and observe them as they once did to Saturn. Cassini is not a direct fighter, preferring to observe and coordinate when possible in order to prevent risks of collateral damage. Cassini is highly curious in all things, especially in the intricacies of emotion, of which they have only a basic grasp (based on Hastur’s memories of ancient Earth). They seek to empathize with and understand the other Foreigners at Chaldea, partly to observe and monitor their patrons, but also to befriend the Servants themselves, and to provide emotional support when necessary.  ((Thanks for reading this massive block of text! If you’re interested, send me a servant and I’d be glad to write out some interactions.))
