sometimes it doesn't even take words. like Eddie will say something like "i know, dude" and Steve will just look at him and immediately Eddie will recognize his mistake and go "i mean honey. babylove. princess. you, absolute love of my life. beloved apple of my eye. i would do anything for you, did you know that? i love you SO much." and Steve will just be like "hmm. i love you too." and leave the room without another word. Eddie stays behind feeling like he just had a near death experience and grinning like a maniac.
