We Could Make a Good Thing Bad

Summary: While the shape of the world around them continues to morph and evolve into something young and new, Jing Beiyuan and Zhou Zishu remain grounded in the past. The bright future of Helian Yi's reign does not feel as if there is a mold that can possibly fit them anymore, not with how much they have torn and sacrificed of themselves to make it a reality. Thankfully they have each other, as well as the strange relationship they have carved out for themselves.

[Instead of replying, Beiyuan takes a sip of his wine, his shoulders slumping in defeat. He respects Zishu's boundaries, yet there are times, like this, when he can't help but wish his friend would rely on those around him a little more. He worries for him - a fact Beiyuan would never allow himself to speak aloud - and there are moments where he fears Zishu uses his work as a shield to keep the rest of the world at arm's length away. “Besides," Zishu continues, "you already are helping.” He waves a hand between the two of them, the corner of his lips tilting upwards in the shadow of a grin. “This helps.” “I know that,” Beiyuan says, trying his best not to roll his eyes. “But … we are friends, Zishu. If I can help you in other ways away from the bedroom, I’m more than willing to do so.” Zishu reaches a hand across the space between them, settling it high upon Beiyuan’s thigh. He gives a light squeeze, his grin softening into a rare smile. “I know. But there’s really nothing more you can do right now, nor is there anything more I want you to do. I’d tell you if there was.” Would you? Beiyuan wonders, the words an echo that lingers at the back of his thoughts. They’re both so very good at pretending, after all. ]

Word of Honor 山河令 | Episode 6

Another day, another meal.

He'd been stalking the hapless mech for a while, patiently waiting for him to stray far enough from the outpost.

This small outpost had gotten more vigilant since Megatron had arrived. Mecha going missing, a frame discovered, mangled beyond identification.

Megatron had been hunting well, preying on the inhabitants of the Rust Sea Outpost.

The moment is right, the sparkeater pounces. The mech is silenced by a servo crushing his neck and vocalizer, and Megatron hauls the poor victim away. It takes a while to get far enough from the outpost for his liking.

Sitting on a ridge, he drags the mech close, sharp, strong claws tearing the chest plating asunder. The mech fights, trying to protect his spark, but it ends when Megatron lifts him and sinks his fangs into the spark chamber, ripping it free.

Later, he'll tear the rest of the greying frame apart, chasing the energon inside, but for now he's wrapped up in enjoying the spark.
