i agree that s2 was promising and seasons 1&2 felt like the beginnings of a very subversive and deceptively clever tv show and seasons 3&4 while they have some really strong episodes and get points for exploring guillermo's sexuality seem to be unsure what kind of show they want to be (i personally think the writers are not on the same page and that's why we get this discrepancy). i don't think we were wrong to expect a bit more nuance from the ѕhits & farts show at all i think the combination of silly and poignant was exactly what elevated it
