i keep thinking about the scene when the diviner is dying and everyone is standing close by, sort of unsure what to do but trying to offer gwyn some support. everyone except zero.
and i know the doylist explanation is probably the writers just wanted them to be off doing the next important thing so the plot can progress but the watsonian implications of that are making my head spin.
if anyone is stabbed and dying, zero, the medical officer, the healer, should be the one to try to help. they should be there. except the man who's dying is diviner. what if they just can't bring themself to help, what if they know there's no time to help anyway and does that make them a little relieved, relieved that they don't have to make this choice? relieved that the diviner, who's been out there and still meant danger to all of them no matter what sacrifice they made to stop him, is no longer a threat? relieved that they don't have to be the one to take him out after all, don't have to be the one with the metaphorical blood on their hands? relieved that they can't read gwyn's mind in this very moment when she's grieving for her father? are they angry at themself for feeling this little bit of relief? are they keeping busy with the consoles so they can avoid making the choice whether to try to help or not? are they running away from the decision?
i know i won't get answers but why do they keep going as if they just don't care???
