REQUEST: Hello! Could u do a college!bri with reader in which she’s like majoring in something completely different than Bri but they have a mutual friend (could be Roger) and Bri is so infatuated with her because her major is more like arts and stuff and idk lots of fluff?
A/N: eeeeee i loved writing this smmmmm i really hope yall like it even though it’s prettttttyyy specific tbh lol but if you don’t like arts or whatever bri is still a cute lil loverboy in this just imagine him but with your own work? writing or music wise or anything else really. i hope you enjoy cause i lovvvveed writing this. absolutely loved it. i use that phrase too much. anyway, i just really really liked this one it took me like two whole days to do it lol sorry that took awhile and to people w other requests i got u im still workingg on yalls.
requests are clooooseeed at the moment and i am currently working on the ones i have. you can still send them in but they will not be done/started until i am finished with this batch.
the “rings” / “halos” mentioned aren’t like an angel halo w the circle floating above. its like the paintings that depict the virgin mary? i’ll link a pic right here.
as always, tried to make this as neutral as possible for the reader, but it is fem!reader. there might be something pertaining to height…? but i doubt its anything substantial lol shoutout to y’all tall peeps.
this can be read as normal queen or borhap!queen.
happy new years folks! hope y’all enjoyed yours as i have enjoyed mine. hope you enjoy this fic like i did too lol :p thanks for sending this request in!
Wordcount: 2.4k
Warnings: one fuck word. fem!reader. p fluffy. was beta’d halfway, but proofread. APOLOGIES i don’t know much about space or the sky or stars… all info i got about constellations were from this website (lifesaver lol i really hope its accurate). i’m writing this at 4 am, all worth it lol i looooved this story. anywhere here’s constellation *pulls out guitar*
You stepped back to observe the basic outline that you drew on the canvas. It was a shell of what you wanted to actually paint, currently, but in a few hours, it would be quite the opposite. You moved the easel and canvas around so it wouldn’t be against the light of the large panels of glass surrounding you in what was supposed to be a breakfast nook which you had converted into your art “room”.
You were ready.
You took a deep breath and went to grab an old shirt that you could put on before painting. Going through the kitchen, then the foyer, then the stairs, you went straight to Roger’s room, a place where you could find a crappy ripped, and possibly faintly sweat-scented top to throw on. Your favourite flatmate wouldn’t mind, now would he?
You rummaged through his drawers, careful not to make a mess of his nice shirts or the ones he wore to gigs. Finally, you found an old Hendrix t-shirt that was already splattered with paint. Perfect. You took off your shirt, threw on the new one and put the old top in the laundry.
As you went down the stairs, you heard a noise that sounded like it came from the kitchen. It was probably one of the dogs messing around with your canvases. Quickly, you jogged towards your art room, where a familiar blonde boy was crouching down, viewing the propped up half-finished painting that was drying. There was a tall, curly-maned man shuffling through your masonites.
“Uhh…hello?” You said, confused. Who was this? Obviously, there was Roger, but he hadn’t brought anybody home except for the occasional girl. Rog stood up from his place and the other man had turned around to look at you, sheepish.
Your best friend came around the easel to hug you around your neck, a cigarette in his fingers and your arms around his waist. “Hello, love,” he said. He let go and moved to face the new guy watching both of you. “Y/N, Brian. Brian, Y/N. Brian, this is my closest friend and she loves painting. Y/N, I’m in his band now! Smile!”
You exclaimed, “Oh my god, Rog! That’s amazing!” You were glad his endless practice and jam sessions were working out. Roger was back to looking at your other paintings. Now, you faced Brian. “Hey, Brian. What do you play?” you noticed his hand still on the hardboards. “What were you looking for?” you questioned.
“Oh, sorry.” Brian took his hand off the boards. “I play the guitar.” You made a mental note of that. “I just noticed this one up on the front here… Is this Rog?” He pointed to the first board, which was a painting of Roger from the shoulders up. He had a halo of fire surrounding his head in a circle and he was looking up above. The background was of the night sky, the constellations Leo, Phoenix, Lynx, Hercules, Draco, Vulpecula, and Auriga around him, multitudes of small stars smattered in the blank spaces.
“Yeah, it is. It’s part of a new series I’m doing. It’s my friends and constellations that relate to them. I saw the stars in a book and I thought it looked great so, yeah. It’s fine if you want to take a look.”
Roger was shuffling through who-knows-what when he added, ”Bri majors in physics and all that—the stars.”
“That’s so cool! I’ve always been interested in space and such but my passion has always been in the arts. I major in fine arts.”
Bri smiled and nodded, still examining the painting of Rog and tracing the constellations. “This is gorgeous,” he whispered to himself as you were distracted by Rog giving his input on one of your other paintings.
--
You positioned yourself in front of your easel once more, the boys off to the living room to practice with each other. You primed your canvas, mixed your colours, and set out your brushes. A picture of your subject was taped up on the canvas holder of your easel and the book of constellations was set up on the table next to you. Roger and Brian’s session was great background music for your painting time. You found yourself tapping your foot to the beat.
A few hours later, your painting was done. It was modelled after one of your classmates in your European History class. You stood back and put your hands on your hips. You painted her from the side, sitting on her calves. She wasn’t wearing anything, her chest only covered by a wave of water that led up to another halo surrounding her head. She was looking down at her hands, clasped in her lap with the constellations and stars above her. Her curly, caramel brown hair was splayed out behind her and upon her shoulders, droplets of water among them. You were quite pleased with your first (somewhat) nude where you captured the curves of her body true to what she looked like.
You heard Roger and Brian finish up their set and go into the kitchen. The fridge door and cupboard opened and closed. They walked into your space, Roger with a towel around his neck and Brian a little more disheveled than before. Brian’s top buttons were undone, exposing two necklaces. “Hm,” you thought as you watched him drink from his glass of water standing in the doorway, “Hmmmmmmmmmm.”
Your best friend went around and looked at your artwork. “Damn, who is that?” Roger asked, clearly interested in who your painting was of. He took a sip of water.
You took the picture off the easel and replied, ”None of your concern, Rog.” You shook your head, snickering along with Brian.
Brian walked to your other side and viewed your painting himself. You looked for his opinion on his face. “Wow, Y/N,” he mumbled, “Aquarius, Cassiopeia, and Eridanus are they?
“Correct.”
“This is beautiful, absolutely beautiful. The way she looks, so sensual yet innocent. Wow, Y/N. This is great,” he said quietly.
“Thank you, Brian. That means everything.” Brian smiled at you, bashful.
A new friend (and basically, new flatmate) was made that day.
--
A few months had passed. Smile had been doing great. Roger, Brian, and you were close as ever. Often, you went to their practices and sketched your surroundings, often Roger drumming or Tim singing. You loved seeing Brian’s vibrant smiles but him still paying careful attention to his playing. You would sit at the bar and sketch, or do homework, or just drink. Roger’s cheeky grin and Brian’s reserved but bright twinkle were always there for you up on that stage.
You were at the park with Bri at his invitation while Rog was off with his girl and Tim was somewhere doing something else. He met you with a blanket, his physics textbook, and a few writing utensils and you met him armed with a sketchbook and a bunch of pencils. It was a sunny, British summer day. You greeted each other and found a tree to sit under. Brian spread out the blanket for both of you and you sat down.
Much of your days with him weren’t always so silent. You had helped each other study often. He was often at your side when he was done practicing with Rog, the adrenaline that coursed through him making him seem like a child, a contrast to the calmness of your art process. After shows, he would be so talkative, willing to speak for a long time about anything and everything. You two would frequently be the only two left at the bar after a gig, Roger giving you his customary sly smile behind Bri’s shoulder as you conversed into the late hours.
He loved hearing of your endeavours in art and your classes and never failed to ask to see the new drawings of the new. Usually, you were shy to show other people what you had made but you just had this openness around him. You knew if he had any judgments he would say them in a constructive manner but he never seemed to put too much attention on your mistakes, rather being a “fix it and move on” type of person.
You liked him a lot, really. It didn’t help at all that he was intelligent and attractive and helpful and just a great guy all aro— never mind. Check off all of the boxes for “things you want in a man”. You tried not to pay attention to it too much.
Both of you were off to your own devices, buried in your work. A slight breeze came about, feeling wonderful against your skin. You looked back at Bri sitting against the tree, the wind shifting his hair and his book in his lap. You went back to your own thing.
“Y/N?” Brian spoke up after a while.
“Yeah?” You replied back, still focused on your drawing.
“Could I watch you draw? If that’s alright with you. You pick out the perfect colours and compositions and everything. It’s fascinating. Everything just comes together exemplary.” He spread his hands out at “exemplary.”
“Of course, Bri,” you said, flattered. “Of course.”
Bri moved closer to you, pretty much right behind your shoulder. You flipped to a new page in your book and set to work. He watched your pencil as it flew across the paper, depicting a sleeping dog with a couple that was sitting the next tree over. You could feel his eyes settle upon your face momentarily, heat rising up to your cheeks.
“You know, Y/N. You make a pretty funny face when you’re drawing,” he laughed. Brian played with a piece of grass absentmindedly but still paid attention to your drawings and now your eyes.
“Oh yeah, Bri? What’s that face you’re speaking of?” You took a look at him. He pursed his lips and pushed them out to the left; he drew his eyebrows together and pretended to draw in thin air. You giggled together at his silly (albeit, quite realistic) impression of you.
“To be fair, you have one too, when you’re playing,” you teased.
“How so?” Bri acted like he was offended.
“Well, I can’t really do it and nor is it as severe as mine… but when you play, it’s as if nothing else in the world matters to you but in a good way. It’s like, ‘Who cares about uni? Who cares about anything else?’ You kind of just look like it’s you and your guitar against the world, right? It’s quite nice, watching you play,” you said, voice getting quieter as you continued.
“It is true. Us against the world.”
--
Two weeks had passed. Rog went out with his girlfriend after a session with Bri so you were left alone with the guitarist. He was in the living room making up his own compositions and writing songs like he normally does while you stayed in your little studio. A little lamp was clamped to the table next to your easel so you could have a soft light on your canvas. You painted until Brian came in, standing at the threshold.
“Hello, love,” you said gently. You set down your brush and stretched.
“Hi, babe,” he replied back, advancing forward.
You remembered what you were going to show him and in a split second, you practically screamed, “No, Bri, wait!” He put his hands up and froze in his spot. “Just stay there, okay? Close your eyes.” The guitarist lowered his hands and obeyed.
You quickly moved to take the painting on your easel and prop it against the wall alongside the other drying ones. You looked through the finished paintings and came across the one you were looking for. After grabbing it, you set it up once more. The finished product after hours of work was finally on display. You came back around Brian and guided his towering self to your normal space in front of your painting spot. “Open your eyes.” He did.
You both looked at the piece of artwork in front of you. There was a large smile on his painting self’s face and his eyes were closed. His head was tilted back, up at the stars surrounding him. Bri’s curls were framing his face, small stars speckled throughout them. A ring of water was around his head. “Cancer, Circinus, Leo Minor, Lyra. Pyxis, Telescopium, Camelopardalis,” he said, so quiet you could barely hear it. You watched as he admired the painting of himself, one that you put so much work into to make special.
You nodded. “It’s you, Bri. That’s what I was drawing in the park. I was just doodling but I looked at you and you just looked so—pretty?” You both laughed at your words, but you continued on. “That’s the word. Pretty. With the sunlight and everything, the grass was so vibrant… you were glowing! I couldn’t help it, so I drew you for reference. And then I painted you,” you said, calm and shrugging your shoulders. “I thought it was fitting, you in space, looking like you were at home. I wanted to incorporate something music and the closest thing I could do was Lyr-“
“Oh my goodness, Y/N. This much thought? You didn’t have to do any of this, I’m so grateful, I love it so much! But I’m just Brian, I don’t deser—”
“I wanted to do this, Bri. Trust me. You listened to me rant on and on and on about how my what I was doing didn’t look good, or what I was drawing, or how I was drawing something. You are so encouraging and attentive and just amazing, Bri, I couldn’t help it. It was really no problem. You deserve it. And there’s-there’s one more thing.” This was it! You weren’t really planning on telling him your feelings after showing him your piece but now here you were.
He asked, oblivious, “What thing?” Bri was beaming at his portrait and now beaming at you.
“I really like you, Bri. A lot. You’ve been there for a lot and we’ve supported each other and I just-” He hadn’t said anything. The same surprised look was still on his face. Fuck. “And I mean, like, you know, I j-“
He seemed extremely taken aback at your declaration but his face melted into tenderness. “I like you too, Y/N.”
You exhaled, “Thank god!” Both of you laughed, the shared relief between the both of you evident.
Brian leaned in and you closed the gap. His lips felt amazing against yours after all this time waiting and the moon shone softly upon you both as you shared this moment.

Brian :
Cancer: The Crab ~ his astrological sun sign
Circinus: The Compass ~ helps people find their way, ever helpful
Pyxis: The Compass ~ mariner’s compass, i feel like he j knows himself really well and he’s a water sign so lol
Telescopium: The Telescope ~ self-explanatory lol
Leo Minor: The Little Lion ~ his hair. roger got the “big” lion by default so i gave bri the little lion!
Lyra: The Harp ~ closest thing to music
Camelopardalis: The Giraffe ~ :pppp
Roger :
Leo: The Lion ~ his astrological sun sign
Phoenix: The Firebird ~ he fiery
Hercules: The Strong Man ~ i’d like to think he would request this himself once he saw the series of pieces you were doing.
Draco: The Dragon ~ why not, plus i feel like he’d like it
Vulpecula: The Little Fox ~ he got the foxy moxy.
Auriga: The Charioteer ~ apollo and his chariot, rog is the sun <3
Lynx: The Lynx ~ not a very easily seen constellation, so you need good eyesight to see it. i thought it was ironic because of rog’s bad eyes LOL
The girl in the painting (you know who you are :)):
Aquarius: The Water Bearer ~ her sun sign
Cassiopeia: The Queen ~ self-explanatory hah
Eridanus: The Celestial River ~ water, relates to sun sign

oh shit yall send lots of questions hoo nelly answering almost all of them under the cut ,,, im gunan try and answer more technical ones first then fun ones and ones about the mod later so u dont gotta scroll all the way to the bottom for the good deets
Hi! I'm still kinda new to the blog and I was wondering what are the 'do and do-not' kind question I should do? Because im sure theres always that one ask thats just Innapropiated, like that one of Michael 'taking advantage og high Jeremy' that was just not cool.  i got this ask a lot so ill be clear with yall. im just not a big angst fan? so sending michael asks about his anxiety nonstop and about how he had a panic attack in the bathroom over and over again wasnt that fun. usually if it pertains the musical though you should be find sending an ask about it? but sometimes i get asks that are like “jeremy ur nothing and how does it feel knowing u fucked everything up” like homie how i think its feels? how u think hes gunna react to that? i made this blog to negate a lot of negativity in my own life so i can promise u im going to be answering asks mostly positive always forever. that being said tho i sometimes get asks pertaining to a few things that ive dealt with in the past and these topics make me very very uncomfortable. dont send asks about these topics please. this is the no no list
-self harm, cancer, suicide, rape, parent death, car accidents, sudden death.
What was your inspiration for this blog? hoo boy well,,, ultimately i thought of them rooming together and got emotional and made a huge list of headcanons and was like ,,, why not run an askblog for a bit ill just abandon it after three asks lets have some fun. but somehow im still here and i got sucked in by the complexity of michael and jeremy. i know that sounds kinda silly but just, as someone who is dealing with a lot of similar things, like dependency issues and abandonment issues and depression and anxiety, having these fun functioning character to explore was such a gift for me. i believe honestly thats why im still here and doing this. being able to try and portray a healthy relationship and a healthy way of coping and growing has helped me a lot this past month and given me an outlet i didnt have before. TBH THO the main reason i made this blog if imma be real with u guys id because i didnt like the treatment of a lot of these issues in the fandom. it made me very upset to see depression used as an plot device and michaels dependency issues treated as romantic so i wanted to make a blog that had little to no angst. ANYWAYS somehow im still here ,,, gvrkjvrnkjfd sorry i rambled
honestly I just wanna say first that I love his blog and your art and you're so cool and kind!! a question would be (I'm not sure if you've answered this before or not) but is there like an on going story here, or is it mostly just answering questions with the characters set in this universe? (if that makes sense I'm sorry!) thank you, you're super awesome! ❤️  djrnjg first off thank u so much aaaa,, ive kind of answered this before but its ok its been a while since then! but um i do kinda have a story but how howdy i sure am dragging my feet. the story isn a hUGE OVERARCHING EPIC OF WOE AND THIS PERSON IS UPSET AND THIS PERSON IS MAD AT THIS PERSON its just michael and jeremy getting together. i have a plan and ive talked to a few people on how i want it to happen but ive gained like ,,,, 6,000 followers since then and im kinda nervous BUT ILL DO MY BEST but also please understand that i do this for fun for myself and if i dont get to it im so so so sorry woops
i know this has been said before but i'm really really happy w how you're handling so many aspects of their characters. i.e. michael being trans, michael and jeremy's anxiety, michael's dependency issues, and other stuff i'm too tired to think of. you made the characters have even more depth than they did in the play and i'm rly grateful for the way you're dealing w my favorite boys. (also your richjake is suuuper adorable) ahhhhhh thank u so much? i talked a bit about this on my main but im really glad people are happy with my decision on this blog because im suPER SUPER NERvous anytime i post an ask dealing with these things. (ask hachi or nate i always message them like freaking out and send them my scripts and asks and wait for them to tell me its ok before i post it omg) also like i talked about before i love,,, having these fun stoner gamer boys to explore these issues with. im honestly shocked by how many people also deal with dependency issues because when i first listened to the musical i was so overwhlemed by the song michael int he bathroom because i had never heard someone basically write “dependency issue: the song” and it felt so so so good to realize i wasnt alone in this pit of despair i fall into so easily aha. but im!! glad everyone is ok with this wild ride im on right now (also thank u so much i struggle writing rich and jake but i get so emotional cause they would TOTES call each other babe)
how come you just use sketch form for most of your drawing (sketches and uses sketch for the final result)? im ,,, not really sure what this is asking but i thnk its along the lines of why do i only sketch my answers?? and i do that because dude do u see how often i post and how lONG some of them are. i made this blog for fun and i love doing comics but i hate lineart and coloring and if i tried to churn out finished pics for every post id defs have given up a few asks in,, shrugs
I want to say I love your little comics they're so funny! How long does it take you to make a comic? Are any of them based on your experiences? Ok have a nice day!  thank you! i love my little comics too! it usually takes me anywhere from an hour to five hours if im dragging my ass or talking on discord while im drawing. it can be kinda exhausting but since i took my break ive also been like, starting long comics one day and finishing them another day which, before i would do it all in one sitting then post it hahha. AS FOR EXPERIENCE the first half of the lifeguard comic was based on real life! we were stuck stoned up there for like an hour or two? but we didnt have anyone to help us but we got down eventually!! the wendys comic is also something i did because man!! i need to compliment food workers if they do a good job!! ummmmm just like jenna i also have a friend that said HAHA BYE and moved to cali and she is also lIVING IT UP and doing really well for herself and shes very independent and shes very inspiring to me! hmm i think thats it besides i used to have movie nights with my dad all the time too except we would watch my fave animated movies and sometimes lord of the rings cause my dad loved that
What kinds of things can we NOT ask ? What kinds of things do you WANT us to ask ? i covered the what not to ask in the first question so!!! um if my askbox is open and u want to respond to previous asks ive answered for the boys that would be so so so rad. sometimes im done with a certain ask and i have nothing to add but sometimes ive got more to say but am looking for an opportunity! that being said it made me really happy that i got a lot of asks about pj? shes not going to the main focus of any more asks but!!! i was nervous to introduce her and im glad u guys like her shes fun to write. but overall just general asks i can make a big ol fun story out of so!! dont worry too much about what to ask, if its something ud ask a real person and not like “lol what if ur dad died” ur gunna be fine probably
Hi! Not a question but your blog is so sweet and refreshing! I actually really appreciate that you refuse angst, that stuff tends to rub me the wrong way in fandoms... Keep taking good care of these boys ! gggg thank u!!! it means a lot to me that a lot of people are backing me up on this! i mean if u are an angst fan there are a lot of askblogs that explore that!! so its not in short supply bmc askblog fandoms got something for everyone
Which drawing program do you use?? i use paint tool sai and my tablet is a cintiq !!
this isn't really related to the faq but that bakunawa boy reference was great I LOVE THAT FIC MAN!!! the line was originally a little diff in that ask but i changed it cause ,,,, i could,,,,
an art style question. how do you keep the design of characters consistent from frame to frame? my characters they look a lil different every time I draw em (or a lot different) and it tends to disrupt the flow of my comics/animations ohh boy hoo wee props for doing animations im too scared to give that a whirl but!! it helps that i draw all the panels for an ask on one canvas! so if my next panel is going to be the same character in the same spot just in a diff pose i keep the lower layer on just at low opacity so i can use it as a ref! that helps me a lot!
Sorry if I'm nosy or rude, but are you reflecting Micheal Anxiety, Panic attacks and depence? iii think this is asking if i reflect my own issues onto them boys? and if so then yes i do. i dont place any of my own personality or anything on the boys but i do use them as a way to help me learn how to cope with my own shit and i try to deal with their issues in the healthiest way possible while also keeping in mind they are flawed individuals aaa
what are your pronouns??? and maybe your main blog??  im a cis girl so she/her is good! and my main is squigglegigs! also that being said IF YOU SEE THE USERNAME SQUIGGLEGIGS ANYWHERE JUST?? ASSUME ITS ME?? i have a twitter and an instagram and my tumblr account
((Hello mod will Michael and Jeremy eventually someday get together. I love them.)) if all goes according to plan yes! if i get overwhelmed and stop having fun on this blog then no! sorry thems the breaks but! i do want them to get together so HOPEFULLY
going off on that confrience on pornogrefy for birds, Im geussing jeremy has played Hatoful Boyfriend. am I wrong? well it wasnt intended as that ref and i dont know anything about hatoful boyfriend but i can see jerm finding it and playing it so, sure homie! the pornography for birds thing is a my brother my brother and me reference! i love that show and them boys so give it a scope!
I'm crying bcuz Michael said he's in love with Jeremy and it's beautiful yeah that boy is DEEP IN love with his bro bro
Any advice for running an ask blog?? (Ps i love this blog keep it up) personally whats worked for me so far is doing just sketches for art. honestly ive been able to work so much more and post so much more often while also trying to work on my expressions and poses! also taking my own experiences and shaping them to fit the characters has been SO MUCH FUN. th most important thing tho is,,, dont overwork urself dude. if ur having a fun time it shows. if ur just forcing urself to churn out material and its not fun? like shit we doing this for free dont push urself? idk idk overall being looser with my art and writing the dialogue before hand has been the most helpful for me for this askblog! ive run a bunch before including @ask-maz and ive run that sporadically for ,, three or four years? its so funny cause u can see my art style juMP AROUND SO MUCH but i love that blog and i only update it like every other month or so but?? i still like doing it and no on likes those posts but it makes me smile so ANYWAYS
~ok from here on its mostly just me replying to nice messages or people asking me personal questions that dont pertain to askguyslikeus so!!~
I just wanted to say I really really love your blog and just your art in general!! Keep up the good work and hope you're having fun! thank u!!! i am having fun and im glad u enjoy it!!
What other musicals do you like? :0  i really like heathers A LOT. i also like doctor horrible i know thats not technically a musical but i just relistened to it and im emotional. i like dear evan hansen but it makes me really sad so i can only take it in moderation! ummm rent? chicago?? music man? now im just naming musicals i was in rip. being in a musical fandom is a new thing to me? i was really into heathers last year but didnt really interract with the fandom at SO THIS IS SUPER NEW?? ive never been into a musical as much as im into bmc and heathers tho
tell us a little bit about urself!! u seem v cool i am squigs or fork!! im 24 and work fulltime as a barista at starbucks! i get high on the beach with my friend gwen a lot and drink wayy to many slushies, my tv shows are brooklyn nine nine and bobs burgers right now! i table at conventions sometimes and sell my art as merch and whatnot and i cosplay as a hobby as well. im pretty boring but i draw a lot and always carry my big sketchbook with me and im pretty sure its given me back issues BUT OH WELL HAHA also i am very not cool THE TRUTH COMES OUT
Who do you most relate to from bmc and why? like ,,, a mix of michael and christine with a sprinkle of jeremy i guess ahaha i relate to michaels dependency issues and overarching positive attitude and love of music, i relate to christines bright disposition and the need to not stick to one set thing? like she loves theater cause she can be sO MANY PEOPLE and like same homie thats why i cosplay. and jeremys need to be likes while also ability to put himself out there is very relatable. i also identify strongly with his dad issues idk idk whats good
Also -- just thank you for how you handled all the panic attack and anxiety attack asks. I used to deal with anxiety attacks multiple times a day and it just was really nice that it was positive and not them having one. Thank you, sincerely. ahhhhhh ur so welcome i,,, have anxiety and it sucks and i deal with panic attacks like everyday at work so i dont really wanna come home and draw someone having one i guess? im glad its helping other people too tho!
Dude- I love your art? Actually so much? It's... I love it. The whole sketch-ish way your art style is, and the way you color, and the expressions! I'm so glad I found your work - you've given me so much inspiration. Keep doin what you're doin and I hope you have a good day! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ANytime any one compliments my expressions i die cause i legit made this blog to help with that as well ,,, like dam

I just wanna say... I'm crying over that post about Michael and his anxiety? cuz I know how it can feel that you're only your flaws and weaknesses, but Michael just tells that to screw off in the most wonderful way and I'm?? thank you so much for that post, I bookmarked it for future times when I can't look past my depression... honestly, that post made my day (along with every other post on this blog), thank you for being such a lovely part of this fandom ,,,, im,,,, im scared of a lot of this fandom tbh but if i can be something good that come out of it and my love of these boys and desire to show them functioning together in a healthy way can help other people its so much more than i ever thought id ever be able to do. i am blown away everyday by the support ive been given on this blog and i might be crying right now because i never thought id be able to touch other people like this and i just. im really glad yall are here with me for all this.
(To the mod: You are a beautiful person that I highly respect. I love this blog and what you set out to do. thanks for giving something that makes me smile and gives me something to look forward to everyday, keep up the good work! ❤ ) hey im still crying from the previous ask aaaaa im honestly so emotional

Davey goes snooping through Jack’s drawing pads and finds something.. interesting.
// No warning for this one! Just fluff! //
AO3 Version
______________________________
It was a cool evening in the middle of fall, and Davey and Les had been waiting for Jack at the lodging house for several hours. While Davey had suggested they just go ahead and head home more than once now, Les insisted on saying goodbye to Jack first. Davey wasn’t bothered in the beginning, but by now the sun was low, it was getting progressively more rainy, and businessmen had long since made their way home. His stomach growled for dinner, and even though the other boys offered him some bread or crackers for a snack, he couldn’t take it. He had a meal waiting at his house, and, if Jack would just show up already, he could leave to go get it.
“What’s taking him so long?” Davey grumbled, glancing at the door again. Just as he did so, Crutchie opened it and came in.
“Hey, where’ve you been?” Specs asked, ignoring Davey and looking over to Crutchie. “We’s startin’ to worry.”
“I was eatin’ with Spot over in Brooklyn. I told Jack. Figured he’d tell you.”
“We ain’t seen him all afternoon,” Specs replied, walking over to Crutchie and helping hold his crutch while he slipped off his muddy shoes. “You know where his is?”
“He’s workin’ on somethin’ for Medda. Another one ‘a those backdrops. He’s been talking about it for a few days- how did you not know?”
“At some point you learn to tune ‘im out.” Romeo said through a smirk. Crutchie rolled his eyes.
“Yeah, well, glad he ain’t off hurt somewhere, since you all seem to only worry ‘bout me.”
“I never said we weren’t worryin’ ‘bout Jack,” Spec said defensively. “I just mentioned you first.”
“Hmm, right. ‘Course. I can take care of myself pretty good, ya know.” Crutchie set his muddy shoes by the door and grabbed his crutch back from Specs.
“Yeah, course we do. Jack’d have our heads if somethin’ did happen and we weren’t out lookin’, though.” Romeo replied, shrugging his shoulders.
“That he would,” Crutchie said affectionately, a small smile on his features. He started to move further into the room towards his bunk but Davey stopped him.
“Where’d you say Jack was?”
“Davey? You’se here late. I mean, I ain’t complainin’ but you usually head back to your folks ‘fore now.”
“Yeah, Les insists on saying goodbye to Jack before we go. We’ve been waiting for ‘im.”
“You’d wait for Jack ‘nd not me?” Crutchie said, bending down and ruffling Les’ hair.
“I mean- It’s not like that! I just wanted to see Jack! I haven’t seen him all day- I’ve seen you!”
“Alright. I see how it is,” Crutchie feigned offense for a moment, then went back to smiling. “He’s over at Medda’s. You know where that is, right?” Davey nodded. “He should be in the backstage area. Hey, tell ‘im I said hi for me, alright? And that I made it back safe from Brooklyn.”
“Right, of course. Thanks, Crutchie!” Davey spoke as he walked over to the door and pulled on his shoes, Les doing the same beside him. Davey pushed through the doors, his stomach still grumbling quietly.
///
They arrived at Medda’s a few minutes later. Davey and Les went in through the backdoors and made their way to the backstage area. The room was sort of messy- there were jars of water and half empty tubes of paint scattered on the floor, colorful palettes and paintbrushes strung around aimlessly. Davey couldn’t imagine having to work in a space in a state of disarray quite like this, but he knew that Jack could perfectly. In fact- Jack always claimed that the chaos helped him. Davey knew he’d never understand how.
Jack wasn’t in the room. Davey could hear his voice a little ways off, probably just down the hall talking to Medda or the Bowery Beauties. Either way, it didn’t matter. Les was captivated by the canvas Jack had been painting. A beautiful, albeit unfinished, orange sunset hanging over a landscape of water and trees- so different from the dusty gray New York cityscape they saw everyday.
While Les stared at the canvas, Davey wandered over to a table sitting nearby. A drawing pad was resting on the top with a rough sketch opened, one that mirrored the painting on the canvas. He flipped through a couple pages, full mostly half colored landscapes, till he spotted two smaller drawing pads sitting on the table. He handed the landscape filled pad off to Les who was no longer satisfied with the canvas and took one of the smaller two into his hands.
He flipped open the front cover and was greeted with Jack’s name spelled out in bold letters, as well as the start date for the book. He flipped through a few more pages quietly. Each page was covered in charcoal and lead sketches of things- object and people, detailed hands and beautiful smiles. There was an entire page dedicated to Spec’s glasses and the way light shone of them. There were a few of Katherine’s hair, the specific parts of it that were curly and how they framed her face. There were a few pages detailed Race’s cigars and the smoke that sometimes crawled from his lips. And then, there were pages upon pages dedicated to Crutchie.
There was a page dedicated to his crutch, capturing it from different angles and sketching out the woods grain and texture carefully. There were multiple pages dedicated to his freckles, to his hair’s sandy color, to his clothing and his shoes, his twisted leg, his eyelashes- every single feature of his had been drawn what seemed like a dozen times over. Then, there were pages dedicated just to his smile. It was lopsided- it drifted way more to one side of his face than the other and it made the corners of his eyes crinkle up. Jack had capture everything about it- every small little detail. Davey felt something in his chest that he couldn't place. Love, maybe? Jealousy? (Both?) He didn’t get much time to think about it before-
“Davey? Les? What’re you’se doin’ here?”
“Oh, hey Jack!” Les set down the drawing pad full of landscapes and ran over to Jack, wrapping his arms around Jack’s waist. Jack laughed softly and crouched down to give Les a proper hug.
“Hey, man, what’s up?”
“Nothin’! We’s just wanted to say bye to ya before we head back home.”
“He wanted to say goodbye to you,” Davey corrected jokingly, still looking through the drawings. “I didn’t care one way or another.”
Jack laughed, then there was a brief silence. Davey started talking again.
“I like your drawings.”
“You do? Well, thank you,” Jack replied, smiling somewhat tensely, still holding Les who showed no signs of letting go of the hug yet.
“Yeah, they’re really good.” Davey paused for a moment. “You draw Crutchie a lot.”
“Yeah, I do. Got somethin’ to say ‘bout it?” Jack said, straightening up and letting Les go.
“Can I look at some of your drawings?” Les asked, grabbing the second notebook before Jack had a chance to answer.
“I guess so,” Jack mumbled, walking over to Davey and reaching to take the drawing pad from Davey’s hands. It was still open to one of the pages that detailed Crutchie’s smile. Jack stared at it for a second before setting it down on the table again, still open.
“‘Course I draw him a lot. He’s one of my best friends.”
“Just a best friend?”
“What’re ya gettin’ at, Davey?”
“You love him, don’t you?” Davey asked. Jack visibly tensed.
“And if I do?”
“I won’t tell, if that’s what you’re asking.”
“It’s not.”
“Oh. If you do love him,” Davey paused for a moment, mulling over Jack’s question. “I won’t be mad, if that’s what you’re asking. Crutchie is a great guy.”
“And you wouldn’t be mad that.. You know, we’re both..?”
“Hm?” Davey had gotten distracted staring at Jack’s drawings again. “Oh, no. I’m not.. I don’t care if you’re both guys. That’s what you mean?”
Jack nodded hesitantly.
“I’m not here to police who you can love, Jack.” Davey shrugged his shoulders slightly.
“It seems ta matter more to upper class folks,” Jack replied.
“I’m not exactly upper class.”
“In comparison to me ‘nd the boys, yeah, you is. Still, though,” Jack sighed deeply, his shoulders dropping from their tensed position. “It’s good to hear you ain’t like the rest of ‘em. Specially cause, well, a lotta the boys is. I ain’t namin’ names, but.. I’m sure you’ve figured some ‘a it out already.”
Davey’s mind ghosted over watching, somewhat uncomfortably, the ways Race and Spot interacted. He nodded.
“You’se should probably get headed home, Davey. It’s gettin’ late.”
“The same could be said for you.”
“I’ll head over to the lodging house after I clean up here. Might take a little. Plus, I might haveta walk over to Brooklyn.”
“Why would you.. Oh! Yeah, Crutchie! He told me to say hi to you for him. He’s back already.”
“Oh, thank god,” Jack sighed, starting around the room and gathering the loose paintbrushes. “I hate goin’ to Brooklyn at night. Those Brooklyn boys, lord love ‘em..”
Davey laughed softly.
“Well, me and Les better be headin’ out.”
Davey started toward the door but Jack blocked him, his hands now free of paintbrushes. He pulled off his smock quickly and then held out his arms. Davey smiled and let Jack embrace him as he drank in his warmth.
Les set the drawing pad back on the table and looked at Jack over Davey’s shoulder.
Don’t tell him, please. Jack mouthed desperately.
Les gave him a thumbs up and a smile.
Davey pulled away from the hug, and bright look on his face. He grabbed Les’ hand and walked over to the back doors.
“See ya tomorrow, Jack.”
“Yeah, see ya.”
Davey and Les then disappeared out the door and out into the city.
///
Jack crumpled into a chair in the corner of the backstage room. He had finished cleaning up his mess. All his tube of paint were in their boxes and his brushes had been washed. He had that second drawing pad in his hands and he flipped through the pages miserably, silently thanking god that Davey hadn’t picked up this one.
After drawings of hats and vests, of Spot’s suspenders or Romeo’s eyes, there were pages of drawings of Davey. Davey’s brown eyes, his dark hair, his hooked nose, his clothing that was fancier than Jack’s own. Jack had drawn Davey so many times, just like he had Crutchie, that he had captured every part of him.
And Davey’s smile.. The way it lit up a room, changed Davey’s entire appearance. Jack had barely managed to capture it- it had taken him a thousand times, but he found away.
“God, Jackie,” Medda said from behind him suddenly. “You’ve got it bad, boy.”
“I know,” Jack mumbled, putting his head in his hands. “God, do I know.”

If not my surname or my husband’s, could we announce our child after a New Zealand volcano?
Franki Cookney and her husband didnt much like one another surnames, so now theyre having a baby theyve are determined to pick a new one
When my husband, Rob, and I married last year, the question of what to do about our surnames barely participated our debates. We are both scribes, so our figures are on every piece of work we do. That we would save our own seemed a passed. There was just one niggling disbelieve. What would happen if we had children?
I had always had considered that we would just fasten both our identifies on the birth certification, but I knew this didnt quite solve the problem. Whose figure would go first? And which appoint would end up being used?
We could use a double-barrel call, but didnt seem our surnames, Cookney and Davies, gave themselves to hyphenation. Whichever tell you choose, research results is clunky and we were reluctant to saddle a child with it.
We could have just opted whichever call clanged best with our newborn first name. But in that scenario, one parent discontinues up not sharing a surname with their child and neither of us craved that. Plus, Id heard too many tales of mothers being stopped at airfield insurance because the names on their passports didnt accord that of their children.
The conventional option of taking my husbands surname was never on the table. Quite apart from the feminist principle of not was intended to relinquish my identity for his, I wasnt keen on the reputation. Rob supported this and was by no means offended. The misfortune was, he wasnt a fan of my epithet either. Its just a little bit unwieldy, he said. Its almost Cockney but not quite. Youre constantly having to spell it out. We looked at our mothers maiden names and our grandparents names but ever aimed up back in the same situate, feeling that it wasnt equal, that picking one slope of their own families over another wasnt fair.
We hit on the idea of taking a new reputation about a year ago when before our marry we went to write our wills. As we chitchatted to one of the attorneys, it transpired that he and his wife had done precisely this. Theres a fair fragment of admin, but its good, it toils, he said , nodding decisively. Abruptly, it didnt seem so preposterous. This wasnt some foolish uprising or bohemian pretentiousness, this was something solicitors did!
We mooted it with friends, who were largely unfazed. What mention will you go for? was the thing they were most curious about. Good topic. Could we compound the letters of our mentions and make something new, we pondered. Listings were manufactured: Gouges, Cave, Devine, Kinsey, Dacovnicks Cookies? Nothing of them quite hit the mark.
As our bridal drew nearer, we employed the figure recreation on a back burner. But when I became pregnant 3 months later, we were forced to look at developments in the situation afresh and decided to change tacking. How about a lieu? I indicated. Somewhere weve inspected that we adored. A backpacking stint before we got married had left us with slew make their own choices but most sounded fairly bizarre when attached to got a couple of everyday Brits. Rob and Franki Tongariro owned any particular vigor, but identifying yourself after a New Zealand volcano would be ridiculous. And Zhangjiajie might create recollections of spectacular Chinese mountains, but imagine having to sorcery it every time you booked a fuzz appointment or called your internet provider. For a while Salento and Chaltn were on the register, after places available in Colombia and Argentina. But we werent convinced we could pull off the certainly Latino-sounding former and suspected the latter would lead to a lifetime of chastising people who pronounced it Charlton.
Then Rob said, What about Stone Town? The beautiful old-time township of Zanzibar City is where he had asked me to marry him. It instant appeared right. Stone was straightforward but important. It voiced good with both our first name and after a few weeks of trying it on with other calls would work well with almost anything we chose for our child. It was perfect: a solid call( with a potential for puns that was not failed on us) that felt like a constructive solution to our question. We would obstruct our original surnames for wield and accept this new family name for our personal lives.
By law, all you need to do to change your refer is, well, change it. Simply borrowing and using your brand-new reputation is enough. Revising your reports and records, nonetheless, requires a document of proof such as a wedding certificate or, in such cases, a deed canvas. “Were not receiving” official practice of acquiring a deed ballot. You can write one yourself exploiting free templates from the internet, but scarcity of lucidity about the relevant procedures answers in some institutions demanding an original certificate despite the fact that no such concept subsists. You can either fight it out or you can do which is something we did and offer 15 -2 0 for a company such as the Deed Poll Office to draw up the letter on your behalf and etch and stomp it on watermarked paper. Rendered the roster of bodies and organisations you have to notify and the potential polemics over what constitutes an original credential, this seemed a reasonable compromise.
Perhaps “its been” naive, but we didnt expect to meet with fight. Uncertainty, perhaps. Intrigue, for certain. When it is necessary to getting married, we had trenched virtually every habit exiting, forbidding the wedlock itself, and no one had questioned us. Surely this too would be seen as a modern update on an outdated custom-built. But when we announced our decision to our families, the reaction was mixed.

While they understood our quandary, the common forbear was that the child would lose the connection to its family history. Try as I might, I cant understand this. To me, family history extends far deeper than ones call. Its in the way we live, our values, the gumption and shared experience passed down through generations. It is part of the storytelling our parents did and its in the floors we, very, “re going to tell” and the beliefs we will share.
Our springs are not in our identifies, they are in our centres. My grandmother, whose surname was Jones, is important to me not because of her identify but because of her enjoy. My great-grandmother, a midwife I never even fulfilled, let alone shared a appoint with, forms a part of my feel of identity. Why? Because of the room my loving mother talks about her, because of the pictures she has decorated in my head of that life, that household, that time.
Interestingly, the mention itself has also testified a sticking point, with a few people commenting that its tolerating. Youre doing this really unusual thing but youve picked a really ordinary epithet, said one colleague, as though by doing something different “weve been” obliged to go the whole hog and call ourselves Rob and Franki Thundercats.
In fact, the accessibility of the epithet was something we thought would help us sell the idea. It turns out “were in” naive there, more. My father, a former primary school teacher, insisted that someone called Stone would be tantalized. Another relative describing him as a dead weight of a name.
In my experience, teenagers will come up with names no matter what. I wasted much of my school years known as Franki Cookie while my given name was regularly elongated to Frankenstein, Frankincense or Frankfurter.
Never tell people your epithet picks in advance, admonished one acquaintance( too late ). Its as if telling parties in advance is inviting a exchange or consultation!
While my familys affections clearly matter to me, I believe she might be right. Eventually, this is our decision, based on our demands, and I hope they will come to see it as a practical and positive step , not an reckless one.
Its almost impossible to get everyone on board, attorney another friend, who changed her surname by deed ballot in 2004. The suggestion upset my grandma but my pa, her son, understood. When I marriage my husband, he took my name. Im still not sure his brother was 100% behind us, but when we had our first son, he was the first to be born into our empire. Im so excited that we are the first in our tree!
This is exactly how I appear. I adoration the idea that our babe will be born into this new, specially opted and carefully thought-out last name. And if one day he or she decides to change it either to something new or to one of our old family names we will fully support that.
Even when you change names, ancestry can still be traced and, if nothing else, I like to think we will be seemed back on as the ones who tried something new; who instead of establishing do with an disappointing place, supposed creatively about how to solve it. Thats their own families legacy Im glad with.

If not my surname or my husband’s, could we call most children after a New Zealand volcano?
Franki Cookney and her husband didnt much like each others surnames, so now theyre having a baby theyve decided to pick a brand-new one
When my husband, Rob, and I marriage last year, the question of what to do about our surnames scarcely recruited our discussions. We are both scribes, so our names are on every piece of work we do. That we would deter our own seemed a yielded. There was just one niggling disbelieve. What would happen if “were having” brats?
I had always thought that we would just deposit both our identifies on the birth credential, but I knew this didnt fairly resolve the problem. Whose identify would go first? And which reputation would end up being used?
We could use a double-barrel call, but didnt detect our surnames, Cookney and Davies, gave themselves to hyphenation. Whichever guild you choose, research results is clunky and we were reluctant to saddle a child with it.
We could have just preferred whichever call sounded best with our babys first name. But in that scenario, one parent culminates up not sharing a surname with their child and neither of us wanted that. Plus, Id sounded too many fables of parents being agreed upon at airport protection because the refers on their passports didnt equal that of their children.
The traditional alternative of taking my husbands surname was never on the table. Fairly apart from the feminist principle of not wanting to renounce my identity for his, I wasnt keen on the identify. Rob supported this and was by no means offended. The fus was, he wasnt a fan of my appoint either. Its precisely a bit unwieldy, he said. Its almost Cockney but not quite. Youre perpetually having to spell it out. We looked at our moms maiden reputations and our grandparents names but ever intention up back in the same plaza, feeling that it wasnt equal, that picking one surface of their own families over another wasnt fair.
We hit on the idea of taking a new reputation about a year ago when before our bridal we went to write our wills. As we chit-chat to one of the attorneys, it transpired that he and his wife had done precisely this. Theres a fair fragment of admin, but its good, it operates, he did , nodding decisively.
