I cut it into 8 staves with two 45 degree cuts in the back - the birdsbeak. I then cut a long taper for the top and a short taper for the bottom in the front of each stave. I set up a jig to cut the tapers with a track saw. A quick dry fit made me realize that jubilee clips were necessary, I used 30 in all. Glue up was a stressful experience! Finally got the courage to post my Ultrakill oc Archangel Ilure, it/they Watcher of humanity, dealer of repentance

This was originally just supposed to be a non-associated character who was based off of Ultrakill’s design on angels. I was just fucking around and slapped on some designs I found cool while still trying to keep it Ultrakill-like. 

Then I went screw it and made a cool helmet and turned it into an Ultrakill thing. While looking up angel names I found that this oc had a lot of similarities to Uriel, which was completely accidental on my part. (design wise I made them associate with fire, space, the sun, and gave them red wings because I personally found that stuff cool. The Uriel similarities were completely coincidental.) Anyways I made it a re-flavored version of Uriel (because Ultrakill doesn’t follow the canonical characterizations of the archangels, so I don’t see why I have to), who was a watcher of the humans, but now watches the plot go down and annoys Gabe in their spare time. Illure is the name they went by while on earth, which became a secondary name to them. It is also an anagram of the name Uriel. There is more lore, its all up in the air right now. I might give it a cool weapon soon and call it “Repentance”.
