Summary: When Sofia had been sick, Raihan was there for her. Now that he's under the weather, she's determined to look out for him.Except...why does he keep saying he loves her? Is he really that out of it? Or is there something more to his words?

Sofia is her OC and she has a WONDERFUL backstory and the most gorgeous design ever (Brew is an amazing artist!) and I ship her with Raihan so hard! This story can be read as pretty much a one-shot in itself even if you don't know Sofia though (but you should go check out her character because she's amazing). Also, this is meant to be a follow-up to a fic where Sofia is the one under the weather, and Raihan takes care of her. That fic is written by Usabuns and can be found here!

With her health significantly restored, Sofia was unable to deny that she was excited about meeting Raihan at Yoshida Cafe. Try as she might to convince herself that their mutual plans weren’t anything special, she couldn’t help but wonder if it was going to be something a little…more. More than just their usual meetup, and more than just an opportunity to go through battle strategies together. She’d been a little out of it while she’d been sick, sure, but she felt, nonetheless, that there was something inexplicably different about things between her and Raihan. It was hard to put her finger on, though, and it nagged in the back of her mind all day while she went about her work duties at the Daycare.
Was it the fact that he’d carried her to her bed? Was it the way he’d been so kind and concerned for her?
No, Sofia thought, frowning to herself. Raihan was a good man and a good friend; his kindness hadn’t been anything out of the norm. Maybe she could just chalk it up to her imagination being a bit overactive.
Or maybe it was the way he’d said he’d stay the night if she asked, and the way she got a chill up her spine at the thought. Or the way he’d asked her to meet up at the Cafe shortly after.
“Hey, Zzzofia!” Her Rotom Phone called, breaking her out of her thoughts as it floated towards her. “You juzzt got four new texts!”
“Okay,” Sofia replied, not breaking from fiddling with a heat lamp that had been giving her grief all day. She’d had to completely empty the pen this lamp usually kept temperature-controlled of all eggs and baby Pokemon, which had made it a priority to fix for the afternoon. “Thanks for letting me know. But I’ve only got a couple hours to finish working on this, and I need it back online before I leave tonight, so I’ll read the texts after work.”
Her Rotom Phone, ever expressive, frowned and lingered closer to her at her words.
“It’zzz important,” it said in a voice bordering on a whine. “They’re from Raihan. Can you read it now? Quickly?”
Sofia’s eyebrows furrowed at this.
“Wait, do you read my texts? Like, before I do?”
“Well -” Rotom Phone started, but Sofia reached out one hand.
“Don’t answer that,” she decided as the Rotom Phone settled on her palm. “I don’t want to know.” Rotom Phone wisely didn’t respond, instead switching its screen to display Raihan’s text.

Sofia set down the heat lamp entirely for a moment.
“Ugh, I told him not to get too close to me or else he’d get sick!” She groaned, an odd wave of frustration, guilt, and pity washing over her. If he was faring as well as she had against this cold, well…he probably was feeling as awful as he said he was.
“He wazzz juzzt trying to help,” her Rotom Phone reminded her.
“Yeah, I know,” Sofia said, standing up and moving outside with her phone still in hand. She didn’t want to make any calls while she was still in the Daycare itself; stepping away would make it more apparent that she was just handling some business for a moment. “That’s why I feel so bad about it. Can you call Raihan for me?”
“You got it!” Rotom Phone chirped, and dialed his number. Raihan’s phone rang once, twice, then three times, and Sofia began to worry he won’t pick up, but finally, she heard a click, then a pause, and Raihan’s groggy voice came on the phone.
“Hey, Sof,” he said, sounding every bit as sick as she had imagined he was.
“Hey, back at you,” Sofia responded, every admonishment about how she’d tried to keep him from catching her illness immediately disappearing from her mind. “You sound awful.”
“I feel awful. There’s not a lot that can take down the great Dragon-Tamer, Raihan, but this is definitely giving me a run for my money,” he said with a weak laugh.
“I’m so sorry you caught this from me,” Sofia groaned.
“’Sokay. I wanted to make sure you were all right and taken care of,” Raihan responded easily.
Somehow, these simple words made Sofia’s stomach flip.
“I - I want to make sure you’re okay, too,” she said, shoving aside the nervousness she couldn’t help but feel as she said the words. “I’m going to catch a Corviknight Taxi and swing by your place after work, okay?”
“Aw, Sofia, you don’t have to do that -” Raihan started, but Sofia didn’t let him finish his sentence.
“Yeah, just like you didn’t have to come and get yourself sick from taking care of me,” she retorted, her mind already made up.
“What if you get sick from me?” Raihan mumbled. Sofia laughed out loud at this.
“I already had it,” she pointed out. “I’m going to be fine. All the more reason for me to be the one to make sure you’re doing okay and have everything you need.”
“You’ve made up your mind on this already, haven’t you?”
“Yes,” Sofia responded firmly. After a moment of pause, Raihan sighed.
“You’re…you’re just the best, do you know that? Really the greatest,” he mumbled, and though Sofia listened carefully for any sign of teasing, she didn’t hear any.
“I - well, um, thanks,” Sofia finally said. “You’re…the greatest too. Well, I’ve got to go hop back into work for a moment to try to get a heat lamp fixed before I leave, but try to go get some rest, okay? I’ll be by in a couple of hours.”
“Kay,” Raihan croaked back. “Thanks again, Sof. Love you.”
Sofia felt certain that she’d heard wrong for a split second, but when a moment of expectant pause passed, she realized she definitely had not.
“Uh - love you too,” she said, because what else do you say to a sick and feverish person (who you may or may not be interested in) who decided to say that first? “Bye,” she added, then took the Rotom Phone away from her ear, ending the call.
Immediately, her Roto-dex flew out of her pocket, circling around Rotom Phone in excitement.
“Did I juzzzt hear what I thought I heard?” Roto-dex asked, its eyes wide and sparkling.
“You did,” Rotom Phone said, doing a flip in mid-air.
“He zzaid he lovezzz you, Sofia!” Roto-dex declared, literally emitting sparks in excitement.
“He’s tired and out of it -” Sofia started, only to be cut off by Rotom Phone.
“You zzzaid it back! We both heard you!”
“What else am I supposed to say?” Sofia fumed, crossing her arms a little defensively.
“But you do, don’t you? You didn’t zzzay that to him just to zzzay it, right?” Roto-dex said, freezing in mid-air and looking at her with sad eyes. Rotom Phone paused, too, looking at her closely. Sofia chewed her bottom lip, realizing that the little Ghost Pokemon weren’t just teasing.
“No, I wasn’t just saying it to say it. At least, not entirely,” she admitted, looking away. “But…he doesn’t need to know that. He just needs to get better. Do you two understand?” She asked, frowning at her devices. After all the meddling they’d done while she had been sick, she didn’t need any more from the pair of well-meaning Pokemon.
“Cryzztal clear!” Rotom Phone chirped.
“You got it, bozz!” Roto-dex added.
“Good,” Sofia said, beginning to head back to the Daycare. She could hear the familiar whir of her devices as they follow in the air behind her, but it still took her by surprise when she heard one of them say,
“Zzzofia? We just want you to know…we really are happy for you. It might not be anything big yet, but…it’zz something, izzn’t it?”
“Maybe,” she replied with a shrug. “But thank you, I think.”
As she opened the door to the Daycare again, she wondered to herself when, exactly, her Rotoms became so interested in her relationship with Raihan.

The Grand Tranquility Hotel (V)
Pairing: Alex Turner/Reader
Summary: An eccentric hotel owner and an inquisitive writer find solace in each other when they both seemed to be at the edge of rock bottom.
Notes: Another chapter because it was Valentine’s Day and I love you all.

Chapter V - 505
Her morning routine had been stiff, to say the least. It had taken her a while to get out of bed and dressed, because she wasn’t sure she even had the courage to present herself in front of the people who she’d had been nothing but trouble to. But when she arrived at the breakfast table, greeted by the soft yet tired smiles of Nick, Jamie, Matt and Miles she thought she’d seen the worst of it.
How wrong she turned out to be.
She took a deep breath after thanking Jamie for her serving of food. “I just wanted to apologize to you all,” she started. They all looked up from their plates and newspapers to give her a look of befuddlement. “I’ve been nothing but trouble to you and the hotel. I see now that it was wrong of me to make the presumption I could write something about it without your full permission and thus I’ve been nothing but selfish. I hope one day you’ll tell me what really happened, and it wouldn’t have to be for a novel. Until then, though, I think it’s best if I finish breakfast and take the next train home.”
“What?!” Nick blurted out; his mouth full of eggs. “You can’t just leave!”
“It’s quite alright. I don’t want to intrude on your privacy anymore than I already have.”
“Miss, you’ve been nothing but a wonderful friend to us,” Jamie intervened, “A curious and at times a bit of a meddling friend, true, but one who I hold nothing but respect for. Because I know you do it out of the good of your heart.”
“Jamie, you’ve known me for less than three days.”
Miles spoke up, “You are a bit of an open book, miss. I’d have to agree with Jamie here, I don’t sense any ill intent from you. Such a pretty visitor.” He winked and she playfully hit his arm in turn.
“You’re all too sweet. But you know I can’t stay. I’m not just doing this for myself.”
“You shouldn’t have to leave because of someone else’s personal issues,” Matt stated plainly.
The conversation quieted down when another figure stumbled into the breakfast hall, clearly looking hungover out of his mind. He’d still managed to wear a suit, but she presumed he’d added the sunglasses to cancel out the bright light and hide the bags under his eyes. He sank into his chair and waved his hand when Jamie tried to plate him some eggs.
It was silent for a while.
Finally, he lifted his shades and his eyes swept over her, almost indifferently. “What are you still doing here?” he asked with a blank undertone that no longer seemed to surprise her.
“She’s our guest, Alex. I don’t see why you have to be such a prick about it.”
“I don’t wish to argue with you about this matter now, Matthew-“
“There is no argument, Alex. She stays,” Matt repeated curtly.
Alex gave him a cold look. It made Miles clear his throat to try and lighten the mood with a switch of conversation. “So, Alex, I was wondering if you’ve continued your plans on the expansion? I’m very curious to see what you’ve come up with this time.”
It was the first she’d heard of any plans regarding the hotel, and her instant wonder was how they would manage it all with their financial problems.
“We’re not expanding,” Nick intervened quietly before Alex had a moment to respond. Miles raised his brows, “You’re not? But what about the layout of the casino-“ “Mister Turner has decided against it, thinking it’s best if we let things settle a bit after all the ruckus in the papers.”
Miles looked to Alex as if silently asking for the confirmation of this info. When Alex refused to meet his gaze, the mayor almost looked irritated. “Let things settle a bit?!” he asked, “You’ve ‘let things settle’ for quite long enough, I think! What happened to our plans of opening that casino we’d always dreamed about? What about the day spa?”
“It’s not that simple, Miles,” Alex tried to reason. He ran a hand through his slick hair, feeling his headache getting worse by the minute. But Miles was having none of it. “This hotel wasn’t just your dream, Alex. It was mine, too. And you’re selfish for not wanting to make a better future for all of us.”
The hotel owner stood up with such a force his chair scraped across the floor and fell backwards. And with the flair of his long blazer he had stormed out of the room.
She found herself in the garden once more. And she wasn’t alone. Miles stood on the front porch, leaning his arms on the stone railing, seemingly just taking in the beautiful scenery in front of him.
“How did you sleep?” Miles asked her kindly. It was as if he’d let the annoyance from before wash off of him like the chilly autumn wind blowing the leaves from the trees before them. She admired him for it, genuinely aware she was always one to retain resentment when she’d been cross. “Surprisingly well, actually. Probably the best few nights I’ve had in a long time.”
Miles looked at her in a silent inquiry for her to elaborate. “I’ve had migraines since I was very little. They usually peak at the end of a long day or during stressful situations. Yet for some reason, I haven’t had one since I arrived here,” she explained.
“Even though you’ve had some long days and stressful situations,” Miles probed gently. She huffed, “You could say that.”
Miles seemed to mull it over for a moment. “No matter what happens at this hotel, it’s always been a very peaceful environment,” he said, “It’s the main reason we chose this particular location to open it and deem it as The Grand ‘Tranquility’ Hotel.” She hummed with interest.
“Of course, we would’ve named it something ridiculous otherwise,” he joked, “Like ‘Les Cactus’ or something. And we’d only ever pronounce it with a horrible French accent. That would be the rule.” She laughed, “Would you really have named your hotel that?” “Oh, for sure. Alex and I had it all figured out, no matter what the outcome would be.”
“Which is why you were so upset when you found out about him cancelling the casino,” she mused. He nodded, “We used to talk about everything, all the time. Now it’s like he’s always too busy to have a bit of fun. I feel like I don’t know him as well as I used to, and it worries me.”
She’d spent the rest of the afternoon strolling around the scenery with Miles, and he told her all about his ideas of a grand casino and a renewed Tranquility Base, instead of just a hotel. The sparkle in his eyes showed his excitement and she was happy to be a vent for him and his crazy dreams. She hoped it would all work out for him one day.
She hoped she wouldn’t be the one who would have to tell him about the hotel’s impending bankruptcy, because it was evident that Miles didn’t know a thing about it.
They’d all had a pretty late brunch, so dinner couldn’t come soon enough for them. But when the hotel owner himself failed to turn up, Miles seemed to sink in his seat more and more ever so slightly as the minutes passed by while they waited.
“This is bullshit,” Matt growled, getting up, “I’m sick of him running away from his shit.” “Wait,” she called out, catching up to him as he was about to talk through the doorway. “Let me speak to him first.”
She gave Matt a questioning look when they’d arrived in front of her room and he’d halted to a sudden stop. He nodded his head in the direction of the door she’d only ever glanced at through the corner of her eye, never thinking anything else of it. “Room 505,” was all he’d said, before he left her in the corridor and went back in the direction they’d come from.
The door was opened ever so slightly, and she would’ve knocked if the eerie creak of its hinges hadn’t made her presence known already. She stepped into the room, and it was a lot for her senses to take in.
There was no lavish wooden floor, no king-sized bed with drapes hanging from the ceiling and surely enough it wasn’t the grand apartment complex she’d thought him to have within the hotel. It was just a simple room, arguably a minor downgrade from hers.
There were a few things that were possibly his own additions, such as the strange pattern on the carpeted floor and the white sofas. Other than that, however, the room was plain. A bed with a wooden headboard adorned with white sheets, illuminated by the standard glass in lead lights that could be spotted all over the hotel as its trademark.
He was sat on the bed with his back turned to her, his elbows resting on his knees with his head hung low. His shoulders were tense, and his usual slicked hair was now a greasy mess, evidently caused by the stressed fingers that had run through it. His jacket was strewn across a seat, leaving him in his white shirt, which happened to be the exact same shade as his bedsheets.
“What are you doing in here?” he asked, rubbing his chin in his hand. “I wanted to see if you hadn’t collapsed from a stroke just yet,” she replied cynically. He let out a bland hum, not really seeming to care. It was a cue to her that he might be more willing to fix the boundaries they had so blatantly steered away from when they’d made their bad start with each other. “I did come to see if you were okay, though,” she began. He turned his head for a bit, and she could see his raised eyebrows. “Why?” he asked.
“You were put on the spot. They’re asking a lot of you right now, and while I can see that they only wish to help you, there’s still a lot of things you need to work out before you can even think about remodelling or expanding. The casino, the day spa, all of it. You need more time, and they’re getting too impatient.”
He eyed her curiously. “After all I’ve said to you, after all the things I’ve spat in your face, you’re still being sympathetic? I’m sensing ulterior motives for this one, writer.” She rolled her eyes indignantly. “I’m pretty sure you see ulterior motives behind everything and everyone, mister Turner.” He gave her an amused smirk, and it made her almost instantly relax. How just one quirk of a lip could give her so much relief was beyond her. She’d taken a big step in the right direction, and that was enough for tonight.
Stepping out into the hallway, she nearly ran into Miles. “Oh, sorry, love. I was just about to knock-“ “Could I speak with you for a moment?” she interrupted him. His expression showed his evident confusion at her directness but nodded anyway.
When Miles told Alex the next day that he’d be off to deal with ‘unforeseen business’ and would no longer be staying at the hotel, Alex seemed relieved. He thanked him for the statement in the paper and apologized for his outburst however, which made Miles more content. While Matt was loading his suitcase in the car and Alex was having a smoke off to the side, he gave the writer an unexpected but welcomed hug. “You’re good for him,” he muttered in her ear, “and he needs someone like you now more than ever. You have my thanks.” It had left her speechless and all she could do was wave him off as the car disappeared behind the treeline.

Golden Kamuy chapters 220 & 221 - I am the bear.
I finally have a bit of a break from work and have some time off to catch up on stuff. As I had hypothesized in 219, I was pretty damn sure that Heita was the bear, the wen kamuy. Chapter 220 starts off with Asirpa trying to find the bear bum that Shiraishi and Sugimoto had seen. Sugimoto thinks that because they royally screwed up they are being punished by the white bear.
Asirpa meanwhile is just looking at him sternly while he sweats a little with stress lines under his eyes.
The next page is great as Asirpa calls Sugimoto out on his lazy cultural appropriation. She flat out tells him that using the “excuse” of a kamuy instead of taking the time to think is inappropriate. I love the framing of this shot, she looks in control, like a leader, yet not a harsh leader.
She follows up the idea of not thinking with the observation that there is no bear as there are no bear tracks.
Sugimoto then orders Shiraishi to find Vasily, though in English Vasily is referred to as “hood guy” implying that Sugimoto is too good to bother to learn his actual name. Vasily is helping them and yes, he is the enemy of my enemy (Ogata) is my friend sort of situation, but Sugimoto is supposed to be “friendly”. Not friendly enough to learn the name of a Russian soldier though. I sense this will come back to cause problems in the future. Sugimoto is clearly doing is best to other and dehumanize Vasily since if he knew his name then he’d have to more actively face his PTSD etc. I digress.
The action then returns to Heita finding his Dad and younger brother in a bear snow mound dead. He hears his brother chanting the Pure Land Buddhist chant, in hopes for salvation upon death into the after life. There are a serious of several graphic panels of the bear killing Taka as his head gets smashed by the bear paw. He finds the sexy woman of the group, Noriko and in the stress of watching her boyfriend, die, Heita tries to make out with her as she stops him right as the bear claws her face.
He manages to escape and runs into Sugimoto and Asirpa. I really love the detail between what Asirpa and Sugimoto observe and “Heitavision”. When he runs into Sugimoto, you can see that his face is clean, while the very next panel has smeared blood on Heita’s face as he tells them to run. Sugimoto with out missing a beat tells him, that we will protect you as he asks where the bear is.
Heita replies that it is not possible as the next page reveals him looking super creepy. The bear is going to eat him. It will happen. He also add is that you [Sugimoto & Asirpa] need to get far away fro him. Asirpa calmly asks him for clarification. As Heita names the people killed, Shiraishi has reached Vasily.
Shiraishi also calls him “hood guy” (hoodie-chan in Japanese, par for the course with his habit of calling everyone name-chan, save for Sugimoto). I can understand Shiraishi othering him since he did shoot him in the leg. Vasily is furiously sketching! Look at those eyes!
To build up the suspense, the action returns to Asirpa and Sugimoto with Heita as he explains everyone was eaten and Sugimoto finally realizes that something is off and he asks Heita who these people are that he’d been talking about as Heita looks like he’s in a daze.
Shiraishi is ignored by Vasily as he looks over his shoulder and has a look of panic on his face as he sees his sketch. It is a great page turn reveal as it is like BAM! Guess what, Heita was a convict from Abashiri with a tattoo, striking a sexy pose.
What is even better, is that when it shows the flashback (indicated by the black background) all of the faces have his eyes and eyebrows. This is the visual confirmation that all of these people were/are a part of Heita and his mind has killed them. It them makes his weird licky/making out face as he watched Taka and Noriko make more sense - he was making out with himself in the air.
Asirpa then in a very matter of fact fashion points out that the item that Heita is carrying in his cloth is a brow bear pelt. Even though Asirpa is clearly much shorter than Heita, the framing and angle of this shot makes her look like the wisest and most mature of the three of them. I get a feeling of not quite judgement from her, more like the clarity of a third party observer who has to clearly state the facts. Her pointing with her index finger adds weight to her observation.
Heita then is complete shot as he feels as though he is being haunted by it, despite disposing of it many times over. Sugimoto begins to look concerned as he sweats as he points out that Heita was carrying it like it as a precious item, not something he’d want to dispose of. Asirpa puts all of the pieces together, the bear bum that Sugimoto and Shiraishi saw was Heita wearing the pelt. I have to admit that I love how the pelt expands and rips the cloth as it unfurls in front of Heita as he sees it grow into the wen kamuy with his eyes before him. Asirpa concludes that this wen kamuy is in Heita’s mind only and it isn’t actually a real wen kamuy.
The wen kamuy stands before Heita on the ripped cloth at its feet. This is a great panel, I’m not keen on this story arc, but this 100% gets the point across so damn well. The next few pages are a mix of “Heitavision” and what Sugimoto and Asirpa see as the bear ‘kills’ him and he crawls under the pelt before he stands becoming the wen kamuy.
He then attacks Sugimoto with his front paw and as Sugimoto goes to block he breaks his left wrist! The chapter ends with Heita frothing at the mouth as he goes “bwooooooooh!” which is the sound effect for bears in GK.
Sugimoto has clearly been caught off guard! He needs to stop being so relaxed around former convicts, now he’s gonna have to get a cast and rest his left wrist so that it can heal, but first he’s gonna have to survive Heita.
Chapter 221 is the “bear man” and we get Heita’s backstory from Kadokura! Where have you been awkward old man? Whatever, I’m just glad to see that Kadokura and Kirawus are back in the mix.
Kadokura reveals his full name to be Heita Matsuda and he was a death row prisoner. Kirawus is relaxing in the background as he listens to the story as Kadokura is clearly a bit tipsy, he’s got a bit of a flush going on as he looks a little distant.
Kadokura remembers a lot of details about him, since he was a unique prisoner. He would constantly change the way he talked, using different forms of “I” to indicate how he wanted to present himself, including talking as though he were a sexy woman [Noriko]. This is easier to do in Japanese as depending on the speaker, it would be watashi, boku, ore etc . . . giving more info to a Japanese reader as English lacks an equivalent. The best way to think about this was in the movie “Your Name” when the characters body swap, they have to figure out which form of I to use when speaking about themselves.
Anyways, Kadokura states that Heita once told him that he has a lot of people inside of him and they switch places; this is likely an indication that he’s suffering from multiple personality disorder. I had originally thought these people were his victims, and maybe they were, but since he stated that they are inside of him, I’m more inclined to think that they are all Heita and his victims are not a part of his mental illness. The fact that Noda re-drew them with his eyes and eyebrows makes me think that they are a part of him.
Heita was always terrified, even in prison as he said there was a brown bear always outside of his cell and it was waiting to eat him. Kadokura states that Heita called it a “what-cha-ma-call-it” kamuy, implying he didn’t put a lot of effort into remember exactly what he said. He had to add in the fact that it was an evil got that ate people so Kirawus has some context. Kirawus then corrects Kadokura that it is a wen kamuy. . . his facial expression looks so over Kadokura.
Poor Kirawus, he’s clearly a smart guy stuck with a drunken loser like Kadokura. Though, I really get the feeling that Kadokura is the type of man who plays dumb so he can get further along in life. I think Kirawus just needs to hang out and work with someone a little more exciting and I’m curious if Kirawus has talked to Hijikata a lot or if he has been forced to interact with Kadokura as the go between and he’d prefer to have more access to Hijikata.

I think that even though Hijikata says he needs the help of the Ainu for his plan to work (which Tsurumi has pointed out is a ‘flaw’ about his plan) Hijikata has shown absolutely no trust in any of his Ainu partners as Ariko/Ipopote is a literal pawn between him and Tsurumi. Additionally, it shows that HIjikata has been really crap at figuring out how to work with them, he never learned Wilk’s name nor did he learn Kiro’s real name. Hijikata is just going through the motions of the logistics in his quest for the gold.
Kadokura then explains that Heita’s people in his head are slowly killed off by the wen kamuy, he then is killed by it, he becomes it and eventually he kills a person in the real world. Once that happens his body explodes and he returns to normal.
Kirawus explains that the body exploding is based on how some Ainu groups treat wen kamuy. They cut the wen kamuy into small pieces and scatter is about the landscape. While they do this, they also lecture the kamuy about what it has done and that it needs to change its actions.
Unfortunately, when Heita “explodes” he doesn’t get lectured so that is likely why he isn’t able to learn and heal from his mistake of killing people.

Sugimoto’s rifle is caught in the tree and he and Heita are grappling on the ground as he only has his right hand to fight back. As the bear, Heita is trying to scratch through Sugimoto’s clothing, likely thinking his has claws. Sugimoto is in shock a the power Heita has and he knows this is going to be a tough fight.
But Sugimoto is able to push him back with his foot and as the bear roars his eyes go white (about to kill) and he pulls out his trusty bayonet and stabs him repeatedly.
As Heita regains control of his self, his hand emerges from the bear and trips an amappo. It looks like it is about to hit Sugimoto and he leans on top of him so that it instead will kill him. Heita by grabbing onto Sugimoto is able to take the hit instead.
Heita is happy and relieved that Sugimoto fought back so well. He lead them to the amappo so that the wen kamuy wouldn’t know that he was tricking it. He goes onto explain that as a child he learned about wen kamuy and the idea of them terrified him. He then became a gold prospector and his family wasted all of the money he earned. Their greed became too much for him and he hoped that their greed would result in some sort of divine punishment.
He states that the wen kamuy killed his family. I am still unsure if his family are represented by the personalities or he was just using those people in his head as the stand in for them. The wen kamuy then ate him and then he became a wen kamuy. The framing of the next shot is interesting. Asirpa stands over his head almost deadpan. Shiraishi is very upset as you can tell he’s trying to hold back his tears. Sugimoto is sitting down cross legged cradling his broken wrist, his eyes obscured.
Sugimoto looks very emotional as he gazes down over his body. This is a soft Sugimoto, we can see the light and sparkle in his eyes as he looks quite sad and distraught. I wonder if Sugimoto is thinking of himself when he fights? Keep in mind that he’s referred to as being a demon and not human when he fights. Tsurumi was able to recognize him as a result of his demonic fighting style.
Heita thanks him for allowing him to die. And he then dies as he lays on the snow before them. This then becomes an educational warning moment for Asirpa to Sugimoto. She explains that when a wen kamuy kills someone, they rationalize it by the kamuy liking that person and taking them away with them. However, the wen kamuy is not out to punish people, and Heita did not understand the story, instead he adapted it to his Japanese mindset. Therefore, he produced an incorrect wen kamuy in himself, creating a flawed monster.

The game is afoot. Each group is around Hokkaido.
Ogata is leaving Nagakura’s relative’s house where Hijikata was working out of for some time as shown in chapter 20. I’m going to guess no one was at Nagakura’s place as Ogata seems to be leaving it rather pleased. He’s got his happy cat face on. Seeing that Hijikata robbed the bank and had weapons stored there, Ogata grabbed some cash and clips for the type 30/38 he has.
The major question is if anyone was around - Kadokura is with Kirawus somewhere, likely near Kirawus’ kotan, Hijikata was near Noboribetsu with Kantarou and Nagakura.
Hijikata is currently shown on a street in Otaru, matching this one from chapter 98. Not sure why he’s in Otaru, likely waiting for Asirpa to head back home since her grandma and her home kotan are close by.
Lastly, Tsurumi appears to be in Barato, by looking at the mountain ridge line with houses in the foreground from chapter 59 most clearly.
Why Tsurumi is in Barato is interesting - I wonder if he’s looking for witnesses from the shoot out and for information about the skin that Hijikata got from Ogata?
It looks like the factions are closing in on Asirpa’s kotan and the area where the gold is supposed to be. Recall that Wilk was caught when his canoe capsized on Lake Shikotsu, and it is a rumor that he had some gold with him to make it sound more reasonable.
But there is the oral story that Huci explains about why there is so much gold in the first place. The collection of gold, polluted the rivers and the salmon were not doing their runs. As the salmon were essential to survival the Ainu leaders had to decide what to do.

There was a moratorium on speaking about the gold and eventually each village had only a single elder who knew of the gold. The overall concept was that the gold should eventually become forgetten.
This was how they figured out the amount of gold is much more than what Wilk told the tattooed prisoners. With everyone back in the area of Otaru it is clear that the parties are starting to look for intel toward the gold.
Lastly, this shows that there are 4 factions; 1). Asirpa and Sugimoto, 2.) Tsurumi, 3.) Hijikata and 4.) Ogata.
I think this fits in with the chapter 201 title page and Ogata will act as his own faction. I’m curious to see if he continues to be a solo wildcat or if he will emerge to lead others?
Is Tanigaki going to team up with Koito and Tsukishima? Will these guys end up working under Ogata? Sugimoto and Tsurumi are rivals. Asirpa and Sofia are likely to become allies. Hijikata had Shiraishi working with him before, will he be forced to work for him again? I really wonder if Ogata will take advantage of commanding Koito and Tsukishima as Koito is now in doubt of Tsurumi and Tanigaki refused to follow Kikuta’s orders. Will another rebel group form in the 27th?
Whatever happens - Ogata’s emergence as a leader will continue to make things interesting. There is too much evidence now that he’s playing his own long game. Whatever it is.

your profile
i’ve seen a few guides on twitter for new twitter users, which is nice, but something about having the posts being things you had to finds on twitter--a new site for the people who needed those guides--seemed unhelpful to me. so, i figured id make a small series of guides of my own here for anyone considering a move (or just making an account) who dont know how
this is a series of posts, since im going to be sort of detailed, so feel free to use just the pieces you need. ill tag them all “lews twitter tutorials” so you can find them on my blog
these are all written in the assumption the reader knows nothing about twitter or any other social media outside of tumblr
ill put it under a cut to save your space, but here’s step one: a profile!
the very first thing to worry about would be your own profile. here’s mine, so i can show you the parts:
your profile includes stuff like your icon, your header, your bio, your handle, you display name, and more. its not as open to customization as a tumblr theme, unfortunately. here’s what all that is
your icon (profile picture, pfp, whatever you wanna call it) is... basically the same as on tumblr. they all have to be circles on twitter though. thats about all there is to this one
your header is the image at the top. mine’s just the words One Piece up there (guess what my favorite show is). i don’t really know the dimensions of this, but i do know its shorter than a tumblr header. unlike tumblr, you cant toggle this off
your handle is the @ for your account. mine’s asexualzoro, so you can see where that is. functions the same as a tumblr url for the most part, but with a different name. only real difference is instead of hyphens - in handles, you can only do underscores _
your display name is something that isnt available on tumblr! mine is Brook Enthusiast in that image. it can be up to 50 characters, can have emojis (mine does) and can be changed whenever you want on your profile. it shows up on every tweet before the actual tweet itself. most people put their names or a bad joke here
your bio is a short piece about you! there is a character limit on these, but i dont know it off the top of my head. i know mine is only like 5 under the limit, so as you can see, it isnt very big. you cant write a huge about, so just get the basics! most people write either basic info (name, pronouns), a quote they like, a brief overview, or a joke. this is where you should credit the artist of your profile picture, if you use someone else’s art. my bio does a few of these things!
theres some other important features of a profile, which include:
- location. mine says “my bed, ideally” so you know where that is. locations do not need to be real places, and are just a little line you fill in. if i remember right, they’re not required, so you dont need to worry about them at all.
- website. this spot allows you to link one site! mine is linked to lew.carrd up there. most people include sites like their tumblr, but some people include stuff like carrd. carrd is a simple website-building site which people (like me) use all over twitter to make longer bios (like an about). tbh, carrd is something you should worry about after establishing your twitter, though
- birthday. your birthday shows up on your profile, but only the month and date (which can be disabled, i believe). the year is only visible to you! you can see mine in this image because its a screenshot i took of my own account
- join date. thats just... when you joined. cant really be turned off, but it doest really do anything
- how many people you are following / are following you is visible to all your followers, and you can click on those numbers to see those lists
there are also four tabs on the profile!
- tweets. everything a person has tweeted or retweeted
- tweets and replies. everything a person has tweeted, retweeted, or said in reply to other people
- media. all the images/videos a person has posted
- likes. all a person’s liked tweets.
you cant disable or hide any of these tabs, so this site is less private than tumblr in that regard.
not in this picture, but important!
- a pinned tweet! this is one tweet which you pin to the top of your profile. many people pin information tweets including their other social media or stuff like that which wouldnt fit in their bio. other people pin jokes or tweets that went viral. some people even pin the top tweet in a thread, if they have a lot to say.
- on twitter, your accounts can be public or private. public accounts can be seen and followed by anyone, and anyone can retweet their posts. private accounts cannot be seen unless they’re followed, and can only be followed if their requests are accepted, and you cant retweet from them. theyre marked with a little lock at the end of their display names. you can switch between public and private at any time! (Settings and privacy > Privacy and safety > Protect your tweets)

Tsuna looked at you with nonchalant eyesand saw you as nothing more than another puppet that would dance to his tunethe moment he flashed his money and made his demands. He was certainlyunprepared for the cursory glance you gave the briefcase full of money spreadboldly on your desk before looking back at him with calm, serene eyes.
“What is this for?”
“Just a little donation. I heard you’regoing to run for Mayor of our good city.” He replied coolly, his chin casuallysupported in his hand.
Your lashes hid your eyes for a moment andTsuna stared in fascination at their length. He certainly had not expected suchbeauty when he made an appointment to see you.
“If you’re going to make donations for my campaign then itwould be best to donate them to my campaign committee. It would not be veryappropriate for me to accept such gifts in this fashion.” Tsuna blinked butyour eyes met his again directly. With a matter of fact aloofness that silentlyasked him why he wasn’t leaving yet. “Do you have any other business with me,Mr. Sawada? I’m quite busy. I only allowed this impromptu meeting because myold teacher recommended I meet with you.”
Your attitude surprised a twitch on Tsuna’slip. “You really are a novice in politics, aren’t you?”
“I know enough not to take candy from astranger, Mr. Sawada,” you replied smoothly with a gentle smile that surprisedthe don with its curious tenderness despite your sharp words. It certainlymade your acerbic comments sound like honey. “I’m a firm believer that there isno such thing as a free lunch.”
“It would be in your best interests to―”
Tsuna held his hand up and stopped Hayatoin the middle of his comment while he leaned towards you in interest. “You’recertainly not what I expected. Your… predecessor was much more open tonegotiations.”
You nodded without even a flinch at theinsult he threw at the office you were planning to succeed. “My predecessor isa very impressionable person. I’m sure he’ll enjoy his retirement wholly aslong as he does not meddle with my affairs while I am in office.”
“And what exactly are you planning to dowhen you win?” Tsuna asked curiously, a small smile blooming on his face as hewatched your eyes sparkle with fire.
“I plan to protect the people of this city,”you answer directly, steel under velvet coating your every word. “My aim is toprotect every person in Sicily so they are not left as victims to senselessviolence any longer. No one is going to stop me. Not my predecessor, not the Mafia or any otherpolitician they have in their pocket.”
“Oh? You’re not afraid to die?” Tsuna’seyes glinted with amusement. It had been a while since he felt this for anyonewho was not involved in his dark empire. “The Mafia is not something to betaken lightly, after all.”
“Do you have ties with the Mafia, sir?” youasked with raised brows at him.
Tsuna laughed. “I don’t think I am underobligation to answer that question, District Attorney.”
You nodded in approval and Tsuna felt hischest sing with pride that he had managed to impress you. “Well even if you don’t I’m sure you can let everyone know this. I will show no mercy to the Mafia if theydisturb the peace in this city. I really don’t care if you kill each other but oncemy civilians are involved…”
Tsuna raised his brows, impressed at thesudden steel invading the serenity in your eyes. “I hope they’re prepared to be hounded out of Sicily.”
As Tsuna walked out of the courthouse andback to his Mercedes he smiled.
Hayato, his eyes making sure theirsurroundings were safe and carrying the case of rejected money thought it wasodd so he asked about it in the car. “You look happy, Boss.”
Tsuna’s smile did not budge one inch as helooked out his car towards your office window. “Hayato. Make sure to give herflowers when she wins.”
Hayato blinked. “Alright. I’ll have themprepare a funeral wreath for―”
“No, not that kind,” Tsuna leaned back inhis seat as the car began to move. “Find out what our future mayor’s favoriteflowers are and have them make a lovely bouquet. I would love to talk to oursoon-to-be former District Attorney again over dinner in the future. Also, spread the word out.”
“Boss?”
“Make it clear that anyone who touches her? Answers to me.”
Dino
It had been a long day and all you wantedwas a bath, dinner and sleep. However, the moment you switched the lights onthe modest little apartment you lived in you were not expecting a surpriseguest that evening.
Because sitting on your favorite chair andfacing the door you just came in was a handsome man you have never met beforesmiling at you ever so charmingly.
“Good evening.”
Immediately you were on guard. However,before you could shout for help or escape your mouth was covered from the backand your hand forced behind you in an arm lock by a bespectacled older man.
“No need to scream; I have no plans to killyou today.”
You glared defiantly back at him.”
“If you promise not to make a ruckus then I’llhave Romario here release you. Deal?”
You locked gazes with him for what seemedlike hours before you eventually nodded. Dino then jabbed a chin at Romario whoreleased you but remained at your back.
You rub your abused wrist before snarlingat this unexpected visitor. “What do you want?”
“Nothing much, just your cooperation,” hereplied with a charming smile. You have to admit that if you were any otherwoman you would have swooned at that smile already. “I’ve noticed that you’re very passionate about taking the Mafiadown during your campaigns.”
“What about it?” you asked defiantly, narrowingyour eyes at him.
“Well I’m here to offer you an alliancewith us, of course.”
“I’m not interested in negotiating withcriminals.”
“Now, now don’t be so hasty,” Dino’s smileturned sharp and you had to fight back a gasp at the sight of it. “We are quitea powerful force and an alliance with us will ensure your victory in theupcoming elections.”
You laughed harshly at that making Dinolose his smile for a moment. “Wouldn’t that be a conflict of interest for you? Afterall, you were the ones who put the previous mayor in office too, weren’t you? I’mrunning against him so how would you support the both of us at the same time?”
Dino’s smile turned a bit wry at that pointmaking you blink. He did not look like a gangster at all when he smiled likethat. “The current mayor has outlived his usefulness. He actually has delusionsof running all by himself for the elections now that he has all that ill gottenmoney. He’ll beat you down with campaign posters and organize shootouts duringyour campaign speeches. I daresay he’s even more dangerous than us at thispoint.”
You can’t deny that. Even at this pointyour secret investigations of the current mayor had shown just how far he wouldgo to maintain his position. You don’t have proof but you suspected he has madedeals with the Mafia to assassinate his rivals in the past. It was one of thereasons why you were the onlycandidate running against him this year. Everyone else has backed out for fear ofthe current mayor’s influence. And it infuriated you that he was getting awaywith all of it.
Still though a criminal was still acriminal. You would never trust them as far as you could spit.
“My stance will not change. If I die then Ihave an ace up my sleeve that can ruin him easily,” you declared, thinkingabout the pile of evidence you had hidden away about the mayor’s pastatrocities while he was in office. “I am not like him. I’ll step in that officewith honor. And I do not negotiate with gangsters. Now eitherkill me or get out of my house.”
Dino regarded you with awe and disbeliefbut then smiled again and gracefully unfolded himself from the chair. “I see.So sorry to have bothered you then. We will take our leave. Good night.”
As soon as you managed to lock the doorbehind the two men you felt your knees give out as you slid to the floor.
God that was close.
In his car, though, Dino laughed happily asRomario drove him away.
“Boss?” Romario asked, his eyes on the roadand the side mirrors making sure no one was following them.
“Romario, contact Reborn. Tell him I wanthim to personally end any assassins going after our little mayor-to-be.”
“You like her?”
“Oh yes, I like her,” Dino smirked. “I’llhave to tell Tsuna our new mayor will be under Cavallone protection from thispoint on.”
Enma
You were having a simple meal before goinghome. No one knew that the number one running candidate for the mayor ofSicily liked having her dinner at a homely little pizzeria with cozy boothsand relaxing seats. The people who ate with you were generally ordinary workingclass people and not fancy lawyers and judges. You preferred the simple life becauseit made you feel closer to the people.
At first Enma couldn’t believe it when Juliegave him the info. It seemed like the height of carelessness to live in such amanner. Shouldn’t you be getting bodyguards now that you’re in the middle ofyour campaign? But even as he came closer to you he saw no panic on your face.You were far too engrossed on the file you were reading to notice him and hecould see your surprise when he sat in the stool in front of you.
And yet instead of panicking, you calmlycollected yourself and asked. “Can I help you?”
The Shimon Boss, dressed like an ordinaryworker with his scarf wrapped around the lower part of his face almost shookhis head at your naivete. Clearly you were not a native so why the hell are yourunning for office here? His curiosity was wasted. And here he volunteered to dothis assignment himself despite Adel going ballistic on him because he thoughtyou were interesting.
Derisively he set down a thick brownenvelope on the table and pushed it towards you.
You looked down at it with narrowed eyes.
“We hear you don’t make much out of yoursalary as a public official,” Enma began, his voice quiet. His red eyes peekingout from under the rim of the newsboy he was wearing to try and hide his blazing redhair. “Here’s some pocket money to help with your expenses. Courtesy of theShimon.”
Your eyes widened, recognizing the name ofthe Mafia Famiglia mentioned only in rumors even in the underworld.
It made Enma smirk underneath his scarf. “Ifyou understand then you should take it and know we don’t like peoplenosing in on our business. Take it if you know what’s good for you.”
He stood up and was about to pass you by to leave but the Shimon don was stopped by your hand slapping the envelope of money onhis chest before he could walk away. Enma looked down at you in surprise.
“I think you left something.” You said witha slight smile on your lips.
Enma narrowed his eyes at you and scowled. “Don’tbe stupid. Do you really want to be the reason for the deaths of your lovedones?”
“I’m all alone in the world, I’ve gotnothing and no one to lose anymore; my whole family’s been massacred when I wasten,” you tell him making Enma’s eyes widen and his heart skip a beat at thesight of your plaintive, wry smile. “If you’re going to do something then doyour worst; but I’m not accepting money I didn’t work for. Why not give it tocharity? I heard there’s an orphanage on the edge of town that can use it.”
Numbly, Enma accepted the cash. He couldn’treally take his eyes off you.
With the money gone from your hand youreturn back to your file and your meal as though nothing untoward had justhappened. “I’m here to ensure the people will live in peace and not be afraidof being pinned between any of your wars. I think Sicily deserves better thanbeing sacrificed to either the law or the Mafia. I don’t want to see anyonedying in vain again. So go ahead and do your worst. I’d rather die than look awaywhen someone obviously needs my help.”
Enma left torn at your words and your smileetched in his mind. From then on he made sure you were safe from the shadows ofhis world as you reveled under that light of yours. Silently hoping someday hewould get the opportunity to be close enough to reach you.
The orphanage at the edge of town continued receiving enormous donations every year on that same day from then on.

friends
when you can finally recognize who and what a friend is, you’ll be happy in life
that is the major problem. that’s the essence of considering someone a friend, or not. let me explain...
friends should be people who you completely connect with and that you know that they won’t leave you unattended, helpless or out to dry in a difficult situation
taking that into account, I’ve never really had anyone I could call my friend.
as you grow older you kind of star having the option. you can choose to get along with more or less people, and choose the kind of people you want to get along with.
when you’re a child you just get along with whoever’s there.
when you get to your adolescence, there’s more people you can get along with. pretty much my whole life I’ve chosen to try and get along with everyone, because I didn’t really fit anywhere
in my adolescence I thought I had quite a few friends. everyone got along at school, and it was nice, but nobody remembered me in special occasions, such as birthdays. they I had my mom tell me things like “hey, why didn’t you go to person X’s birthday? I heard from your friend’s mom that your friend went” to which I’d reply something along the lines of “I wasn’t invited at all, neither was I aware that there would be a birthday party”. unsurprisingly, I basically stopped having contact with everyone from this period.
as time went by, and I finished adolescence, I actually found people I more or less connected with and managed to have a deeper connection with a couple of people. but again, neither of these had any big common interests with me, so that ended there.
university had a bigger variety of people and here I finally managed to have a group with which I actually related. but my biggest interests do not match theirs... I never really felt comfortable going out with them, for example. I was always on high alert. I liked them and I kinda trusted them. I mean, they’re trustworthy for sure. and I have a great connection with a few of them... but they’re not exactly the people that are moved by the same things I am or that work towards achieving the same things I want. it is weird to explain, but that’s how I feel. thus I rarely meet them (but do enjoy it a lot when I do!)
after this I started meeting way less people. you have kind of a “social peak” at 21/22. and then it is just full steam ahead down a steep mountain.
at 24 years old I was completely messed up due to my ex leaving me and when I got back up again I met this group of amazing people that had the exact same tastes and goals as me. and the big problem starts here.
these people, whom I trusted with all I had, with whom I felt comfortable going out for the first time in my life, were probably never really my friends, and the signs were there from the beginning
I’m not saying it is entirely their fault. I do not believe it is. I’m just saying that whatever I brought to the table isn’t reciprocal. I loved them all as friends, but they didn’t really love me back.
I know part of the issue was my attitude. I had attitudes so extreme that they thought I was only there because I just wanted to meet the person in the group that I fell in love with. but that just wasn’t true. I truly cherished their company.
but then there was their attitudes towards me, which to this day I am still unaware if they were, somehow, in response to my own attitudes.
-one of them humiliated me constantly due to me trying to make myself noticeable to this girl I was after, and did not stop after me speaking with him privately on 2 occasions. this exhausted me mentally. I ignored it because I am thick skinned - but you cannot ignore negative pressure indefinitely, and it got to me once they’ve put me out of the group.
-another one was in contention with her boyfriend (now ex) at the time and was pissed that I got along with him, thinking I was betraying her trust and passing info on her life, and eventually spread lies about me, which may or may not have had anything to do with me being forcefully removed from the group.
-another one tried to play nice with me but last time we crossed paths he literally seemed to want to kill me (I am not joking)
-another one, well... doesn’t give a fuck, because why would he
-there’s another person that’s 100% right because I wasn’t fully upfront with him when I should have been, so that’s fine
-and another one is the hardest problem. this person is one I got along with from very early in this period of my life and that was instrumental in helping me getting back up after an extremely difficult period. I will come back to this person later on
bottom line here, I've given all I could to these people. my friendship, my good will, smiles, anything they’d need, and even a few car rides. I wasn’t really expecting these people to give me presents back, or to pay for the gas. I just wanted some friendship, some connection, something to get me back up after the rough period I’ve had, and to spend some good times with good music. and almost all of them just weren’t having it. I thought they cared about that, but they really didn’t. otherwise they wouldn’t have left.
I really started noticing that after being forcefully put out of circulation. I feel they didn’t really want it to be known that they were hanging out with me. after I was removed/replaced/repurposed (whatever you want to call it) they appeared everywhere together on socials, something they never really did when I was around. or maybe I didn’t notice they did since I was simply busy living the moment with them? to this day I question myself on this.
now I look back and I think, “they were never really my friends”. and I think, what would have happened if I felt bad or got ill in the numerous times we went out together? would they just leave me without helping? I don’t know. it’s possible at least some would. but then again, is that question even relevant nowadays? probably not - they show no intentions in getting along with me anymore. when I tried to reach out to most of them, I’ve only seen closed doors as if I had completely ruined their lives.
then there’s that person I truly connect with. he enjoys Hardstyle as much as I do, and being a musician is his life. our paths are extremely entwined. we both want to push the harder styles up in our country. this music flows in our veins. but we diverged in the moment I went after that girl. he advised me to stop doing so (an advice that, in hindsight, was probably great), but I didn’t hear because that girl is my dream and I will never stop fighting for my dreams. but that’s not the point I want to make. the point I want to make is, I believe that me going after this girl was basically the source of all issues. I’ve thought on this COUNTLESS times for months without end and it all goes back to her.
so this girl cost me someone I truly respect, that I connect with on a deep level.
was it worth it? I don’t know, but that was a big price to pay, maybe too big.
was he ever really my friend? yeah, probably.
is he still my friend? no, not one tiny bit
will he ever be my friend again? I don’t know...
can you call someone who you got along really well with, but don’t anymore, your friend? that’s something I wish I had a reply for, but I don’t
all this causes me to be quite unhappy. and it is my biggest source of unhappiness now. even more than women honestly, because... I mean, I have my priorities switched up. I should have focused on these people. so I kind of cannot blame them for anything but at the same time I wish this relationship was reciprocal, and they’ve never given this back to me.
I wish I could sit on the table with these people and solve all pending issues. I don’t even know anymore why people don’t even want to speak with me. I've felt many things about that. betrayal was one of them. nowadays I simply don’t understand what’s up
I still think a lot about these things, but I don’t let them take up my day. writing about them helps regarding that. but I’m fuckin tired of people not giving you a closure. I was my ex gave me the chance to speak with her one more time instead of breaking up with me by phone. and I wish these people also gave me one last chance. I wish I could sit on the table with them and have them tell me what is their problem with me, or what’s the problem that I have. and close this chapter once and for all. but the human nature is cruel at its core... and we often make other suffer without realizing it.
so to finish this off, here’s something to occupy your mind: are your friends... really your friends? why do you call them friends? do you connect with them on a deeper level?
think about this, and avoid disappointment, heartaches and loneliness

I am glad that I survived tribal. Now I just have to win this challenge for the tribe! I don't want any of my allies to go home!
Raffy
My strategy for this challenge is not to be the guesser since that only puts a target on my back if we lose. So, Joseph volunteering himself is good for my game overall. Honestly, though, I really want to win this challenge so that the stakes are even when we get down to merge. No side has more people than the other.
Also, taking the path of the bear lets me know that Cormac only made that alliance for that idol path. So there is no real bond in the alliance with Joseph, Ellie, Sierra, and him. Though, I do plan on using it against him later on if we happen to be on opposite sides.
Sierra
I lost my vote for the next tribal... so I’m a bit nervous about losing. But I almost want to lose this next immunity challenge so that I’ll still have the numbers on my side. If I don’t vote at a tribal and we still have the majority, I’m less likely to go home. Later in the game, my vote will mean more. I also don’t want to throw a challenge, though, so we’ll just have to see how it goes!
Joseph Collins
I think I established some trust between the still-alive Dylan and I. Me and Justin are starting to clock. Me and Elle have a strong alliance. I’m feeling comfortable which is scary. Because comfortable people go home.

You ever just want to organize a challenge so that your tribe can succeed, but none of them want to put in the work? I'm screaming and very frustrated.

so the trio is coming together, being me, cormac and zoe. we want sierra and stephen gone. stephen first, sierra second. they both have the potential to be devastating to our games come the merge. i last talked about this with them like 14 hours ago, but i’m assuming everything is the same. blindsides are becoming a necessity. and wowowowowow they are fun.

Its been a dull few days. Since we won immunity and the next challenge had ample time to be completed.
Another challenge that I couldnt compete in thanks to the time difference. Abit annoyed. As things can go in so many directions.
1. Tribe might not be happy about my challenge contribution.
2. The rapport built during challenges between other players will make things harder for me.
Although since im travelling soon. Il be on est soon. But I am not sure if I should let people know. As I dont know what could trigger them. Example. They might think. Il be able to play more socially and can easily be ready for future challenges like individual immunity. Hence I think for now. I should keep this info to myself and let my tribe underestimate me. Knowing that the time difference will hurt me enough to make me a so called GOAT that at the final tribal I might not have a case as I have not done enough. For now I have no choice. Hopefully i can make a few moves later.

I’m trying to remember when the last time I confessed was so I apologize if this is a repeat. But I got what I wanted last tribal. At first people wanted Justin out rather than Dylan R and that wouldn’t have been good for me. It wasn’t difficult to get people to switch since all that had to be done was Justin say like 2 words to people to prove he’s more active than Dylan R so that was good. I hope we win the challenge, our score was good, but there’s could be better you never know until results. My fear is that Justin will go if we end up back at tribal and I’m not here for that.

Because of debate I wasn’t on for the challenge and I feel like shit!! I hope we won or else I’ll provably be the vote out

Well, we lost immunity again... and this time, I don't have a vote. That means that I have to work super hard to make sure that we're all on the same page and that votes go on one person. I tried my best during the challenge, and it was super close... so even though I was in the 'hero' position, I feel like I wasn't the reason that we lost the challenge. A few of the people giving clues during the Taboo game used 'illegal words' and cost us a few points. I think we would've been tied if that didn't happen. Still, anyone could go home at this point, and all I can do is hope and pray that it isn't me. Especially since I don't have a vote!

okay well fuck, we lost the challenge.
I was pretty confident we were going to win but I was wrong. I'm not too worried, if only because I'm pretty sure Cormac wanted us to throw the challenge anyway, and this way we can get rid of someone we don't trust, whether it be Stephen or Sierra. This way is probably better anyway, because we can say we did our best and nobody will be upset about it.
John, Cormac, and I are aligned now in a group called "The Blindsiders" and we're trying to decide whether or not we want to convince Sierra that Stephen is after them, stirring up some drama and making them seem paranoid so that everyone will vote them out. I'm not sure if we'll go through with it, but we'll see. Cormac hasn't been super active lately, but I'm hoping he comes through soon. He is my partner in crime, after all.

Damn. That immunity was so close. 36-32. Adding the ones me stephen n zoe got subtracted. Adds like 3 so like was 36-35 which like really sucks. But hopefully ill be okay for tribal.

I am so glad that Joseph was able to pull through with this challenge. This means I get a day where I can just socialize and chat without having to strategize. However, some of these people are hard to hold conversations with like Timmy. I feel like I am bothering him all the time too, so I have to be mindful of that. My social game does need a bit of work, but I know I can make it better. Other than that, if merge does happen now, we are going in with an even split of members from both tribes. So, it should be fine all things considered. I'm certain that someone has found the idol by now, but I do not care much about the idol hunt to worry about it. Hopefully, the person who does is on my side in the end.

Comfy week off of tribal 😎 I made a small decision that I think made a big impact. I chose to take clues via chat instead of call. It cut down on people trying to speak over each other. And I think that helped us win.

So the games going eh. We’re going to tribal, which sucks, but on the other hand i feel like ive made some genuine connections. I made an alliance chat with zoe sierra maynor and john. I could take or leave john, he is nice but idk how much i trust him. The rest im putting all my game hopes on so, yeah, fingers crossed.

it’s not a secret, i’m going through a lot right now. i lost a coworker and my cat literally within days of each other, and i’m currently spinning thinking about the game because of everything going on personally. i already wanted stephen out, but to see that i’m number 5 in his eyes, that means he gotta go now. i ain’t coming here to be the fifth place throwaway. i do like chatting with him though, he is a nice guy. but i’m not fully in his plans moving forward.
Keith JohnWell its tribal today. I had a feeling my name could come up due to being on a different timezone and having less interactions with people. I felt the same reason would be valid to target to stephen. And now I guess, Stephen himself felt that it could be used against him. So he is targeting me. I have no idea if he has any other reason
Now regarding, keep my ass safe for this tribal, I hav to keep faith with the people I made an alliance. Zoe has got my back. she also confirmed that Its I had an alliance with her n Cormac day one. I always planned to take it to final three and now I pray that they know Im honest in that promise
Cormac has been busy and it looks unlikely il get to talk to him before tribal.
John and sierra have said that they would do Stephen. Not Sure if Sierra is completely on board. Maynor has replied to me.
Im gona vote Stephen and pray no one gets an itch to make a move and vote my ass off.

John and I have been getting closer just in general in Cormac's absence. Miss him, but I like John. Keith now trusts me implicitly, which is great. Three people on my side is better than one.
John and I have orchestrated the Stephen vote by making Sierra think it was her idea all along. Stephen came to me, Sierra, and Maynor yesterday asking to make an alliance (four votes into the game? come on) and in "oh, worm?" Sierra suggested we add John, which Stephen agreed to. He believes now that we are all voting for Keith, but everyone, even Maynor I think, will be voting for Stephen as far as I'm aware. After this, I'm pretty sure there will be a swap. I'm preparing now to talk to my new teammates, reignite old conversations, and maintain old relationships. Let's go.

i’m gonna flat out just say it. i 👏🏼 do 👏🏼 not 👏🏼 trust 👏🏼 sierra 👏🏼. i think they’re open to literally any idea of an alliance, and if it wasn’t for me and zoe reigning her in, they’d be voting keith off tonight. they have to go after this vote. nice person, helpful in challenges, but they’d be a quick flipper.

Stephen approached Zoe and I to talk about building an alliance with Maynor. Of course I agreed -- you're always supposed to say yes to an alliance, even if you don't plan on going through with it. I asked if Stephen would be comfortable adding John. He said that he was, so we added John to the alliance and conversations, too. The danger of Stephen wanting to form an alliance so late in the game is that the rest of us already have an alliance. Actually, most of us already have MULTIPLE alliances. Stephen hadn't approached us until recently. So I call the police to come and take a report but of course there wasn't enough officers on duty to send one out so I wake up my brother to get a ride to the station. Keep in mind this is between 2:30-5:00am and the last time I actually saw my car was Sept 13, 2011 at approx 11pm. I arrive at the police station where I make a report, they take down all the info and send me home with the report. Approx 1 hour later they call me and say my vehicle was recovered in a nearby city and they gave me the number to that police station. So I hurry to call them but of course they were closed until 8am. At 8am I call them they said bring my ID and insurance info to recover the vehicle. I go down there and ask questions but they told me they weren't allowed to disclose any information about who, what, were, or when the incident occurred because of confidentiality. They told me I would have to pay the towing and storage fee to recover my car from the impound. So I left and went to the impound paid $218.00 to discover that my vehicle had been totaled. So I had it towed to my house where I called the insurance company to report this. After I reported this incident they took a recorded statement and gave me a claim number. I waited for 2days for my adjuster to call me back and he never did. about 2 weeks later my adjuster calls and leaves me a message saying he needed another recorded statement and to call him back. I call back and got his voice mail. I spoke to one of his colleagues and they said they would send him and his manager a memo to call me back..well that never happened. 1 week after that I get a packet in the mail asking for my cell phone records, keys to the vehicle, and a notarized affidavit. I sent these things back and then a detective from the insurance company calls me and said there were red flags and he needed to get a video recorded statement. I agreed and went to give the statement. A few days later a detective from the police department where my car was recovered from calls me and tells me that my youngest son's father was with some friends at a nightclub were a drive-by shooting occurred and my son's father wasn't shot but the young man he was with was and as a result of them trying to escape the scene my car was crashed. As they arrived to the scene and asked questions about what happened my son's father would not admit he was driving the vehicle, and because they didn't actually see him driving or pull him over they could not prosecute. The detective asked me did I know anything about this incident and I replied hell no! The night of the incident my son's father had came to my house around 3am but never mentioned anything of course because he knows I would have tried to kill him. He also knows I would have been pissed because I never let him drive my car for the 3 years that I have known him, he has never had a license. She ask me was it ok to list him as a suspect and I told her Yes! I let her know that he did not have permission to drive my car under any circumstances. The very next day the detective from the insurance company called me and ask me what was my son's father name and what where the numbers that where called on my cell phone records. He asked why did he call me at 2:54am, I explained he wanted to let me know he was on his way over which wasn't out of the ordinary for him to do. So then the detective tells me my story stinks and I need to withdraw my claim because on my interview I didn't disclose that my boyfriend had come to my house. I told him why did I need to disclose who was sleeping in my bed if it had nothing to do with my car. I mean we know now he had something to do with it but I didn't know then. He told me the police detective also had the keys to my car which was a lie. It clearly states on the impound record that they had no keys. Not to mention the car has broken locks and loose wires I guess he didn't read that part of the report. He also told me I was trying to cover for my son's dad to get the car covered. I told him he could arrest him for GTA for all I care. My car was stolen and no matter who stole it I'm the victim and of course I want my car covered. He then said he was denying the claim and sending the case to the Department of Insurance to see if fraud was committed. Im beyond frustrated because I have nothing to do with what my son's dad did. Should I sue?""

I recently got my license and am looking at getting a Datsun 240Z to be my first car. My parents are completely supportive of this choice so please don't answer saying that it's a terrible choice. I am willing and eager to learn how to work on cars. Since insurance is so expensive, I'm looking at getting classic car insurance for it. I know they aren't supposed to be used for a daily driver, but doing some math, I calculated that I won't be driving for more than 3,000 miles annually, even if I commute daily.
